OK, I figured out that I can simply define all the sensors as 16 bytes IN/OUT, even if they are not all used. EDIT: The negative effect is that each bit is taken into account as an I/O for the license, even if not used.

For a long time now, I have used VirtualBox on a Linux Mint host to run the Codesys IDE without any problems. Every day, I put it to good use, and it never fails. Wine is not something to be trifled with. Probably not worth the effort. For Linux PLC developers, Codesys Go might be a game-changer. Very excited to give it a try.

I am trying to create multiple branches in my project and I keep getting gaps in the ladder logic "wiring". I'm not sure if this is a graphical error or something else but every thing I've tried to do to correct it does not work. Has anyone else run into this or know how to correct it?

Hi, which CODESYS Version are you using exactly? Either update to 3.5.21.x if you are on 3.5.20.x if not - add a more secure pw. Seems that on adding the login credentials it is mandatory in 4.16.0.0 -to have complianct to password policy seems a bug that the message not occure.

It is not needed to add Targetvisu connector - for using the TargetVisu for Linux. The reason is - TargetVisu for Linux is basically a remote TargetVisu which could connect to any CODESYS plc not only the loacal one - therefore only a Webvisu connector is needed to have it work. & it seems a bug with this anoying update proposal.

Hi ustad41, cams can be buffered using the BufferMode input of MC_CamIn. If the end- and start-velocity of two buffered cams are not zero, there will be no stop. Not sure this answers your question. Cams can be changes on the fly by aborting the active cam. Please see [0] for details on switching cams. I stopped the simulation and tried to rebuild. "Cloned Task0.task0. Priority already in use" error was shown after rebuilding. I used Build-Clean All option and rebuilt again. Now the logic started working. But I am not still sure what caused the error in first place. If somebody knows about this error, please enlighten me. Thanks svn

Hi aniket-b, If you save the library as a compiled library you are not able to see the source code. When the end user tries to view inside the object, CODESYS will give a notification that the source code is missing, see attachment. In short if you don't send the source code, it will not show.

The "remove unused" parameters have been added to 1.0 version as well as the "manual" removal of pins... also allowed "empty" inputs for blocks is in and the compile error described there should no longer occurs. Drag drop of variables is not yet implemented and I don't think the double-click feature yet either.

Hi, Im not sure if this is what you mean, but i do succesfully use the IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave.InputData and IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave.OutputData to read from and write to beckhoff DI and DO cards. Very convenient as you can make an FB with an VAR_IN_OUT of type IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave and only have to pass the slave reference... So i am not using .ETCSlave_Diag but .ETCSlave...

I have not used this client / server OPC UA combination since. We were only making some kind of proof of concept. I did understand that there could be some kind of bug. I do not know if the supposed bug has been resoved since. Perhaps you could try what piautomation is suggesting

I've tried using the SMC3_BrakeControl function block to control the brake, but unfortunately, it's not functioning as expected. Also had this problem when working on legacy project. My packege was CODESYS Code Generator ARM 4.0.3.0.package. To manage this I used PackageManagerCLI.exe. This tool does not validate certificates appearently. However, I changed the directory to: C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\58719825\PlcLogic\Recipes It still displays the content of this folder OK, however still will not write or read files. Is this the PLCLogic area you speak of? I also tried adding this path the the CodesysControl.cfg file. But still can't get it to work. Any additional direction would be appreciated!

Thanks Georg for responding. I have followed the suggestion mentioned in the real time problem. However, it does not solve the problem. The weird part is, the robot stops at the same position randomly and it does not stop when I increase the speed of the motion.

Hello, You could not run EtherCAT-Softmotion drives with LMC201 PLC. This Controller has an EtherCAT master but only to run simple I/O devices. You could not use this EtherCAT master on the LMC201 for Motion. Schneider PACdrive Controller use SERCOS and only own drives (LXM62 with Sercos) for motion.

I have several libraries which contain values that should be saved on a PLC. As apparently no Persistent Variable List is available within Libraries, I use the Persistence Manager to create a Persistence Channel in the Project which imports the library. I then specify the persistence channel in the library using the {attribute 'ac_persist':='PersistenceChannel_CT'} specifier. This generally works very well and gives me exactly the properties I require. However, it came to my attention that the (alphabetially) first value from the library is not saved in the created ASCII file. When checking the content of the Persistence Channel, it shows all the variables as defined in the library. But the created file does not contain the first value and it is not restored after restart or reset. (see attached picture) I disabled Periodic Saving and set xSaveOnChange to TRUE and so the file usually updates immediately after changing one of the values. When changing the first value, it does not update which is consistent with this value not being saved. I also created a sample project and library from scratch which shows the same issue both using a Raspberry Pi and using a Linux machine. Does someone know what the reason for this could be or did someone make similar experiences? Looking forward to hearing your suggestions. Thanks in advance and best wishes Manuel

Thanks, I will check the PLC Log when the PLC is connected again. I will update my findings here. Since I don't have access to the Linux Panel PC at the moment, I tested inside my development VM with the same Linux OS. I have no issues or delays connecting to the WebVisu using my Linux VM. Two main differences: 1. My host Computer has a faster processor compared to the panel PC. 2. There are no devices connected in my dev environment. I will continue testing when I have connection to the panel PC.
