Hi, does anyone has a solution for this issue. I've the same problem. I've implemented a very simple client based on the Modbus Examples and connected the soft PLC to a Modbus Simulator. Hello, we have the same problem here. Our configuration in the following: Codesys V3.5 SP19 running on Exor Exware700Q Profinet network connected on Eth1 IOLink Master Turck TBEN-S2-4IOL version 3.5.9.0 IOLink sensors E+H & Sick (Pressure, T°) We installed the codesys IO link package and have the codesys IO Link SL licence activated (on a dongle) Our problem is the following: we got the IODD files from E+H & Sick we add the devices in the codesys device repository with success They appear in the devices tree under IODD branch We added the TBEN IOLink master under the Profinet IO . The IO link master are ok and display online. The IO-Link SL package datasheet indicate that there would be a way to scan the IOLink device from the network but we did not find any way to trigger this scan. (we expect to get this from a right click on each IO-Link Master module but the only possibility there is "Plug device") When clicking on Plug Device, we get a browse window with profinet IO modules. The IODD devices are not there so we cannot select them. But other devices for other brands are available and can be plugged. Our question are : 1) how do we update the Profinet IO Module catalogue in order to be able to plug the E+H & Sick Sensors that we have to work with? 2) how do we activate the Scan IOLlink device that is supposed to be included in the Codesys IO-link package? 3) where can we find the manual explaining how to use this package?

Hi, I’m currently testing the Codesys Redundancy application with 2 Raspberry Pi, with the idea is of using in my project 2 Wago PFC200 and 1 Ethercat Master with 2 Remote IO. After I configure the redundancy, and one Pi is Active and the other is Passive, if I disconnect the Ethernet cable of the Active, the Passive become Standalone, which is good, but the problem is the following: -When I recover the Ethernet connection, both stay Standalone. They will NOT Sync until I do it manually in the Codesys environment. How to make the synchronization automatically? -If both Pi/PLC stays Standalone, who is managing the IO? (Ethercat and Serial) I have done a test with an Modbus Slave, where I am sending a counter that increase every second. And I see that when both PLC are standalone, they both keep an active connection with the Slave, and both write values. This does not seem good, since according to this in my project both PLC would try to control the IO at the same time. Note: The Codesys have an option (greyed out, not possible to select) which says “Auto Sync”. What is the purpose, and why I’m not able to select it? I'm using Codesys Control for Rapsberry Pi 64SL Runtime in my test environment (2xRaspberry Pi 4), with the idea of using Codesys Control PFC 200 Runtime in my project (2xWago PFC200 and 1 Ethercat Master with 2x Wago 750-354 Ethercat Fieldbus Coupler). Using the last Codesys 3.5 version (SP19 PAtch 5). I'd appreciate a lot any help on this questions!

You will need a USB to RS485 converter to connect the PC to the Modbus RTU Slave Device. In Windows this converter will be recognized as Serial COM poort (e.g. COM2, or COM3, see the windows device manager to find this out). Select this port in your CODESYS application. On the PC you need to use the CODESYS Control Win (SoftPLC) to run your application. It will not work in simulation mode, because then the Modbus Communication will not be activated.

I had one RPI device where I could login. I copied the SD-flash over to another SC-flash. This new SD-flash was inserted in the new device. I can boot the new device but I cannot login why? How can I install an application on this new device? Hi all, Is it possible to hide or show tabs from the PLC code? I have created a few tabs in my visualizations to configure the program behavior, I'd like to be able to hide some of them if the related option in the main tab has been disabled. Device: RPI 3b or 3B+ System: Wheezy Codesys: 3.5.16.2 I got the Log: 2023-12-13T00:38:43Z, 0x00000054, 2,6,11, !!!! Warning: Eventbuffer full for app=<app>Application</app>; an inputevent with the tag <tag>128</tag> has been dropped This log happens aroud 10 times a second. Sometimes the controller stopped working any more. What is the reason for this? I will update this controller soon (I hope so, but in the meantime I should at least know hoe to prevent this issue) Mario

Hi, there is a plethora of hardware available for it to be succesful on. In theory every ARM32/64 or x86/64 device is a potential target. Next to this there are embedded device platforms for which specific toolchains are available. A good starting for manufactureres of CODESYS capable devices is available here: https://www.codesys.com/the-system/codesys-inside.html. That should give you a good reference point.

Hi Edwin, Thanks for the message. My apologies I should have researched this more thoroughly before posting on here. I found a solution to my issue on this post: https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/6455efaa17/ I needed to run the 'CODESYS Installer' as an Admin, then install the RPi package v4.10.0 in to my package (v3.5 SP19 Patch 5). Hi geoweil, have you tried to save changed values to remanent area or using a VAR RETAIN? After restart you have to initialize Counter with last remanent value. Depending on changes per cycle and the possibilitiy of your control unit to write remanent storage. Otherwise you need a buffering system to ensure save backup of last PI_Counter value. I have some Symbols from the Visualization Toolbox on my Target Visu on the Computer. I tried many Symbols, mainly Arrows. I'm able to control the visibility with condition e.g. "GVL.actual_testvalues.speed <= 0" But I can't do "Toggle color" with boolean GVL.b_toggle_color. Neither "TRUE" nor "FALSE" does change anything. Is this a known issue? I'm using CODESYS V3.5 SP19 Patch 5 + (64-bit). See attached file with more Version-Info. I'm currently using Style 6, Gradient axial 2, 3.5.12.0. I had the same issue with Default 3.5.16.0.

HEllo, I need to connect with PLC XV300 , the problem is for me not simple. The PLC have remote control by Tosibox VPN tunel. I can see the screen from PLC, but i also want to se Input and Output the PLC . I try to scan the network by useing tosibox Gateway but its not working. Where i should looking the problem ? DO i need added special library ?

Is there a way that I can create a variable in a GVL that I can control with logic but a user can not put a force on this variable. I have looked at the access rights but this seems to only limit editing the GVL or POU. This variable will only be assigned a value in one POU but it will be used throughout many other POUs.

Hallo zusammen, grundsätzlich sollte ja die Möglichkeit bestehen den Raspberry auch als SPI Slave zu nutzen. Leider habe ich kein entsprechendes Projekt gefunden, bei dem dies der Fall war. Kann mir jemand dabei weiter helfen, wie ich bei Codesys Control for Raspberry , die Konfigurationen für den SPI Slave machen kann? Der Master soll ein Microkontroller sein von einem anderen Gerät sein. Ich arbeite noch mit 4.10.0.0 und einem Raspberry Pi 4 Vielen Dank und liebe Grüße

Hello Matteo, I think the problem is about configuration of firewall (windows firewall usually). You can disable temporary the firewall to check if the communication works. Eventually you can: Go to the control panel -> Windows Defender Firewall -> Allow an app or feature Enable the options to change the settings. Scroll down in the application list to CODESYS and CODESYS ControlService. If you don’t see this application add it to the list. Make sure that all the checkboxes are checked (Domain, Private and public).

Good morning, I think that the mode Simulation does not support the Softmotion functionnality because it runs the CODESYS process with normal priority wich is not a good thing for real-time behavior. If you want to test your PLC project, please use a Codesys Control Softmotion (and your computer must have the Ethercat driver installed) or much easier, download your code into the C6 Smart. BR

Hallo, und vielen Dank für die Antwort. Ich habe 'Modbus_Slave_COM_Port' in eine Watchliste genommen. Leider reichen meine Kenntnisse nicht aus, um aus dem Ergebnis irgendwelche Schlüsse zu ziehen. xBusy und xError wechseln zwischen true und false (im Gegentakt), der angezeigte Fehler ist 'Response Timeout'. iChannelIndex wechselt zwischen 0 und -1. Wenn ich das richtig verstehe bedeutet das wohl, das der Servotreiber auf Anfragen einfach nicht reagiert. Ich hänge einen screenshot vom Watchfenster an, vielleicht kann jemand mehr herauslesen als ich. Nochmal danke fürs Lesen und Überlegen!

Hello, I have been having trouble getting a visualization to show up on the RasPi. I have previously used both WAGO touchscreen and Windows ControlWin and had no trouble. The visu does not show on the Raspi screen on start of the program and attempts to view in a browser both on the Raspi (Chromium) and from my laptop (Brave,Chrome,Firefox) running Codesys development fail. The visu shows correctly in Codesys development when online. (Win 11) The control code that is active is operating correctly. Raspi Codesys runtime is licensed. What am I missing? Thanks!

I started a project in codesys for a WAGO 750-8212 PLC and I am working on getting online with the controller. I can log in to the controller and I can see and control all of the fieldbus couplers that I have. I am unable to get the internal bus working. It just says that the bus is not running and when I scan or devices nothing shows up. Am I missing something important in my device tree?

Yes, this point is part of my misunderstanding. Why, after the execution ot the motion FBs is set to FALSE and exsecuted at lest one time, it must be continuosly called, even if the motion control it's take from another subsequent instruction. This is what I really don't undertand, but what in fact it's happening. For example, in case of stopping a MoveVelocity FB, then Halting the motion by the related FB, the axis at spot goes into error. If there was bad trigger management, the various instructions would NEVER work.

I have found a work around. I have written a python scripts that runs on user login (entry in .bashrc) which overwrites the webvisu.htm and webvisu.cfg.json file with the configuration for the B&R T30 panel (resolution and disable scaling). First I tried to add this setting to the the CODESYSControl.cfg, but that does not work following the big CODESYS Control V3 Manual. Hello again, After looking into it, I noticed that the release note of "CODESYS Control for Raspberry PI 4.13.0.0" mentions a bug fix titled "Support Compute module 4". Is it possible to have more details about this fix from the CodeSys team please ? Because I have several CM4 boards with the same hardware revision / OS but some of them works with the 4.10 runtime and others only works with the 4.13 runtime...

What do you mean by continuous movement? You want to continuously follow a dynamic target position? SMC_ControlAxisByPos, which is typically used with CNC Interpolators, could work for that. Instead of feeding the target position in from the Interpolator, feed in the target position from your server instead. Hi everyone, I am working on a 3 axes Cartesian robot. I take control of all the axes. In the Ethercat connection, the drive sequence is the same as in the program. For example, in the current program the order is as follows. 1. Axis_Z 2. Axis_X 3. Axis_Y Communication Diagram PLC->Drive_Z->Drive_X->Drive_Y When I try to change the order in the program while keeping the communication diagram the same, there is an axis drive mismatch. How can I fix this?

I have set up a brandnew Beckhoff panel pc with a codesys control runtime V3. I configured it together with 2 profinet field devices: a 16in/16out IO module from Turck and an MTS linear encoder. The machine works fine untill all of a sudden the communication breaks and the profinet participants become unreachable. At that point I can still ping the device, but the profinet master does not find them anymore: When i do a scan they are not found. When i do a cold restart, the profinet master becomes active again and the devices are found again. In the log i get Ethercat packet receive error: sysethernet. I am a little confused, there is no ethercat device in the device tree. I already set the send clock and the reduction ratio to higher values, but without result. Can codesys be configured, so that the communication re-establishes without doing the cold reset? This is very annoying and is causing a lot of prodution losses. regards Tim
