This is a phenomenon that I have seen myself and with others. Texas instruments wrote an application note with this same issue. They noted with Codesys 3.5.19.10, that selecting CPU 1 as the EtherCAT task showed CPU spiking improvements over the performance of cores 0, 2, and 3. It appears to be linked to EtherCAT, are you configuring for use with distributed clocks? If so, I recommend choosing the 'Based on Input Reference' option. Dear all, I've just started to migrate some of my ancient projects to SP20. There is one strange error (?) I have noticed so far. In a method call, depending on the circumstances I would like to return reference to an object, or an invalid reference: METHOD Add_EVT_OUT : REFERENCE TO FB_MSG VAR END_VAR IF __ISVALIDREF(refMSG_Entry) THEN Add_EVT_OUT REF= MANAGER.AddMsg_EVT_OUT( refMSG_Entry, _Get_EVT_Message(MSG_EVENT.OUT), _Get_EVT_AddCode(MSG_EVENT.OUT) )^; ELSE Add_EVT_OUT := 0; END_IF So far setting a reference variable to 0, did this. But now, the expression Add_EVT_OUT := 0; gives an error: [ERROR] DB_WTP_370: Add_EVT_ACK MSG_TRIGGER_EXT: C0032: Cannot convert type 'BIT' to type 'REFERENCE TO FB_MSG' Naturally... I can write: Add_EVT_OUT := DWORD#0; But is this the correct way? Is there any constant I could use instead, like "NULL"? Or this is totally wrong and to be avoided?

Have you received any feedback or found any solutions to the load problem. We are running into similar issues, even without codesys running the load avarage is above 1 meaning that it is to busy already without plc code running. Hope you might have some more insight.

I initially created a SoftMotion axis for my EtherCAT CoE drive. I wanted to change it to use SoftMotionLight so I deleted the SM node, which left an <empty> node. I created the SML device, but the <empty> node remains. How can I remove that from the tree? </empty></empty>

Hi, i try to setup a softmotion programm. Controller version 15. Ethercat, When is scan Devices then it install's the drives. 4.11 . Somehowe they have a vesion 16 libary. I tried to install new but stil problems. I tried version 19. Then i get a Visu version problem. What can i do ? Why are ther always problems with a new version ?

Hi, Im not sure if this is what you mean, but i do succesfully use the IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave.InputData and IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave.OutputData to read from and write to beckhoff DI and DO cards. Very convenient as you can make an FB with an VAR_IN_OUT of type IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave and only have to pass the slave reference... So i am not using .ETCSlave_Diag but .ETCSlave...

Codesys has a motion libraries (SoftMotion), but you need to buy a licence keys for them to work. the most basic one is SoftMotionLight. you just have to select your drive in the device view and add a SoftMotionLight CiA402 axis. then the library is added to your project. You can use the SML_* motion FBs and configure the axis now.

Hi, I have a "CODESYS Control Standard L" license and I use Ethercat and Profinet in my project. The project works seamlessly with two fieldbuses. However, when I add modbus_Com (Serial) or 1 OPC Tag to the project, the program throws an exception (Application app=Application has invalid license metrics!). My license should support 10*Modbus and 512 OPC Tags. Why might this problem occur?

Yes, this works (at least we have it running with Wago PLC and Beckhoff I/O), but the concept works. You need 2 PLC's with at leat 3 network interfaces. And 2 switches (can be unmanaged). See the attached simple diagram for the solution.

Hi! thanks for reply. We tested the configuration you proposed as well; however, when the cable between the controller and the switch was disconnected, the Active and Standby roles were swapped. Did you observe the same behavior in your configuration using WAGO and Beckhoff?

Select in tree "DEVICE", right-click and select "Update Device" Select "Library manager" and Change the version of the Library (down manualy). Samoetimes "Try reload Library". If you open a project version 3.5.19 in version 3.5.16, there are difficulties.
