Post by winki on Modbus TCP Client CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I am new on CODESYS env. I would like to do some Modbus TCP, but I am wondering If using codesys you must use the device "Modbus_TCP_Client" & "Modbus_TCP_Server". I would like to do it without device, only using ST. Is that possible ? I try the example : MODBUS_master_example, but it is not working. If it is possible to dot it without any Device I will show my code. Thx a lot

Post by pixsys on Webvisu cliënt responsiveness CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, please check if "Support client animations and overlay of native elements" option is enabled. This option is very heavy to manage for the Webclients. I'm using the Pixsys srl "TC series" HMI with the code "P3" (so a 4+4 cores CPU) that runs very well also with this option active. The same CPU is mounted also in their WebPanel "WP" series, so you can try one of them if you want.

Post by gatto on Read codesys version in the codesys application CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
hi, i used another way declaration: pApp : POINTER TO APPLICATION; pAppInfo : POINTER TO APPLICATION_INFO; ProjectName : STRING (24) ; CodesysVersion : STRING (15) ; code: //library : // CmpApp // IoDrvEthernet // // Get Pointer to current application pApp := CmpApp.AppGetCurrent( pResult:= 0 ); // Get Pointer to Application information pAppInfo := CmpApp.AppGetApplicationInfo(pApp:= pApp, pResult:= 0 ); ProjectName := pAppInfo^.pstProjectName^ ; //convert codesys version to string CodesysVersion := IoDrvEthernet.UDINT_TO_IPSTRING ( udiIPAddress := pApp^.udiPSVersion ) ; so i think you need to convert your dwVersion in a UDINT and after convert UDINT_TO_IPSTRING

Post by dogulas on Removing a symbol from the IEC Symbols Editor grid CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Right now when I make a change to one of the tags in my code, I have to completely remove the IEC Symbol Publishing object from the tree view and re-add it. Then I have to completely re-add every symbol to the grid view by dragging them over. This can be a lot. Surely, this is not the intended behavior. Can anyone tell me how this is supposed to work?

Post by trusty-squire on AXIS Rollover CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
In that case, the best thing to do might be to track the offset in a separate variable of your logic, then when you provide target positions, make your target position use the tracked offset as below: ActualTargetPosition := (TargetPosition + MyOffset) MOD 360; Although, upon further reflection, you'll still have the same cycle time issues. You might be able to break your code into multiple tasks to reduce the cycle time, or use an Event task to capture the offset position?

Post by pistola on How to change font and font color rectangle/or related object CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Here is the help sections for visual elements rectangle. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Visualization/_visu_elem_rectangle.html Under "Font Variable" there is "Color" which is a Dword, you can make a variable that changes colour within your code to the color needed. Note the format for the Dword variable is: colorVariable := 16#TTRRGGBB Where: TT = Transparency 00-FF RE = Red 00-FF GG = Green 00-FF BB = Blue 00-FF https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Visualization/_visu_animate_color.html

Post by lamine97 on Issue with Timer-Based Increment Function in CoDeSys Ladder Logic (LD) CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I am trying to implement a Ladder Logic (LD) function block in CoDeSys that increments a value A by B every T time interval. My Structured Text (ST) version works perfectly in simulation, but when I implement it in LD, it does not work. The ST code: PROGRAM ADDITION VAR_INPUT A : LREAL ; B : LREAL ; T : TIME ; END_VAR VAR Timer : TON ; END_VAR Timer (IN:=TRUE, PT := T); IF Timer.Q THEN A := A + B ; Timer(IN := FALSE ) ; END_IF;

Post by sercan on Connecting Parameter 'A' in G-Code to Physical Axis in CNC Project CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I want to run the following command by linking it to the A-Axis: G01 A45.0 Which TRAFO should I use to do this? SMC_TRAFO_5Axes and SMC_TRAFO_GantryCutter3 function blocks did not work! For example, when SMC_TRAFO_5Axes is used, parameters B and C can be resolved by the transformer. However, parameter A cannot be resolved. Only SMC_Interpolator displays the value of parameter A in the SMC_Interpolator => piSetPosition.dA output. Should I drive this axis with SoftMotion commands (MC_MoveAbsolute etc.)?

Post by berkdan on SMC_ReadNCFile2 is always busy CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hey tk96 Thank you for your help. I have found the reason why fbreader stuck. It was not the program but it was the gcode itself. G21 command blocks the reader. And multiple G codes in a line also blocks the reader. My code was: N010 G21 G17 G90 -> Blocked the reader When i change it to: N010 G90 N020 G17 Then it worked. The only thing i did not get is why the reader did not thwor error. ErrorId was SMC_NO_ERROR. Anyway, it is now working. Thanks again.

Post by pernockham on Persistence Manager: Config File not found? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I still cannot enable persistent manager for my project (and successfully login to a device). Project compiles with no errors but during download/login it fails with the fairly limited message "one or more errors occurred". The only clue I get from the system that this messages is displayed during "Generating code..: relocation pou". Any tips pointing me in a direction how to solve this very much appreciated!

Post by bmatlove on AXIS_REF_SM3 Error Codes? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I'm trying to firm up alarming of axis faults. Declutter the code and figure out what's what. Diving into it, I see the AXIS_REF_SM3 function block provides uiDriveInterfaceError and dwErrorId, but I can't find any significance of these further than Drive interface error number Parameter number: 1014 and Drive specific error identifier, parameter number: 1031, respectively. Is there some corresponding appendix I could use to decode these? Also, is there any relation to the Error ID (of type SMC_Error) of the MC POUs? MC_Jog, MC_Reset, MC_MoveRelative, etc? If so, are the above errors redundant? Thanks in advance.

Hi there, I am trying to open a codesys project done by someone else and Once I install all the libraries I get this error [ERROR] : Library Manager [PROJECT 01: PLC Logic: Application]: Could not open library 'SysSocket23, * (System)'. (Reason: The library 'SysSocket23, * (System)' has not been installed to the system.) SysSocket23 is a standard library and I also tried using the same OSCAT library which was from the original computer that made this code. Using CODESYS V3.5 SP18 Patch 2 Please help me how to solve this problem.

hi! this is also a delayed answer, sorry for this. when coding in python i get the TCA9548a working. Is there someone who knows how big of a effort it would be to update Stefan's original code to make it work with a more up to date version of codesys or should i downgrade my system? andrax - are you using a downgraded version of codesys or have you downgraded all the libraries? What Oscat lib are you using? what version? thanks for your reply! Martin

Post by sturmghost on Find visualization elements that require a lot of computing time CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I found out that the Codesys simulation mode is not good to measure performance. As soon as I upload the code onto the hardware PLC I can see that my visu-task needs around 60 ms to complete. I'm wondering if there is a possibility to find out which visualization/visualization element takes a lot of computing time? Then I would look for ways to decrease the long computing time.

Post by mejak on Raspberry Pi USB HID RFID Reader - read ID in plc program CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I have an RFID reader that is detected as a keyboard. While looking for information, I came across examples using visualization. I would like to read the ID without visualization or external code in python, only in PLC. I found on the forum that you can try reading directly from potru /dev/... https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/24b3527036/ How to read values directly in codesys? Or maybe there is another solution? Best Regards

Post by rpostwvu on Shared Memory Access Issues CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I got the shared memory example. I'm pretty sure I'm successfully created a memory space, CreateResult returns 18. szName:='CodesysDataShare'; hShm := SysSharedMemoryCreate(szName, 0, ADR(uxiSize), ADR(CreateResult)); I'm trying to access this memory with a C# application, but I get "Unable to Find Specified File". I suspect that Codesys and/or Visual Studio code alters the name I choose? Being in Windows, I cant find a way to see the mapped memory list. ~~~ using (var mmfRead = MemoryMappedFile.OpenExisting("CodesysDataShare",MemoryMappedFileRights.ReadWrite)) ~~~

Post by andrax on Prüfen ob Datei existiert wenn nicht neu erstellen CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hier der Code: fopen.sFileName:=sFileName; fopen.eFileMode:=File.MODE.MAPPENDPLUS; // Neu erstellen und anhängen fopen.xExclusive:=TRUE; fopen( xExecute:=TRUE); IF fopen.xDone THEN hFile:=fopen.hFile; sStringToWrite:=''; writeIndex:=0; SchrittDatenlog:=60; END_IF Wo liegt mein Fehler?

Post by jackbrady on Function Blocks and arrays of function blocks CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, I am new to Codesys and PLC programming in general (please go easy ha!) I'm not looking for code to be written for me just some help and pointing in the right direction. I am writing some code to send commands to a relay based on input values (to put it simply). Quite basic stuff. I have wrote a function block that takes a global variable (Open_command:BOOL) and outputs to another global variable (Opened : BOOL). The function block is simulating a device so I'll eventually get the globals from that. I now need to create multiple versions of this function block/ device (lets say 100) but I need each iteration of that function block to reference it's own relevant global variable. I think that the best way of doing this would be to use arrays, although I could be wrong. I am aware that for up to 100 instances I could very well manually assign everything but that seems rather time consuming and I want a fancier way of doing it. Here is a very basic example of what I am looking to do, please note I have not written this in proper code it's just to show what I mean. Global Variables V[0-100] int Open_command [0-100] Bool Opened [0-100] Bool Function Block var input x : BOOL Var output y : BOOL if x then y = TRUE ELSE y = FALSE The input to my function block will be Open_command, output will be Opened Example code. If V[x] > 10 then Open_command [x] = TRUE ELSE Open_command [x] = FALSE (So when V1 goes above 10 I need Open_command1 = TRUE therefore initiating FB1 output. V2 > 10, open_command2 = True > FB2 output V3 > 10, open_command3 = True > FB3 output ... ... ) What I can't seem to figure out is how to tie all this together, I have read through the codesys documentation and if anything it has confused me more! ha. Apologies for the poorly written post but hopefully you understand what I am trying to get at. Thanks, Jack

Post by nano on Is there any support for I2C on Raspberry Pi? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
hello jdj this question can be answered well with a pretty good forge documentation: https://forge.codesys.com/drv/io-drivers/doc/Generic/ u r also able to create in codesys directly an iec-code by using the i2c-interface as driver using the codesys ide and st depending on the stepperdriver, used in yöur hat, its possible that an driver is already available in the device-repository. which mcp-device is used on the hat?
