Hi ryusoup, looking for the same functionality. I tried to use your code but couldn't figure out all the details. to enable Listener should it be called once or cyclically? the listener should be called with the intance of FB which you described? should it be this instance to be called cyclically too? I tried to make it simpler, just force the uiYear/uiMonth etc. but couldn't make it work. Could you please share some details how the whole struckture looks like? Would be great if you share an example UPD: found the issue. Your code works. Thanks for the posts

Dear Forum, We are currently switching to a native Codesys controller, and I'm currently trying to determine the correct license. I have a question regarding the Modbus instances. With the Standard S license this is set to 4 (See picture). In our projects we are using a lot of communications to Modbus servers using a Codesys Controller, for this communication I'm using the ModbusFB library (supplied by 3S) (see picture). In my project I would like to use more than 4 instances of the ClientTCP FB. My question is, is this now capped at 4 possible connections with the standard S license. Or do these function blocks have a different relation with the license? Some clarity on this topic would be very welcome. Thank you in advance

The way I usally tackle this is by syncing only words (then you are able to use the FB above). If you then want to write a Boolean simply type it like this. Value[1].0 := Bool1; Value[1].1 := Bool2; Value[1].2 := Bool3; Uints have the same number of bits than a INT/WORD so these ones will work as well (they are only represented diffrently). A Real will work but you will loose some infomration in the conversion. If you want to keep the information you can convert 2 words to a float with a function (for example with the IEEE-754 standard) . In this way the syncing to the server is very simple and in the Codesys Program you decide what part of the word you want to use.

Konstante bestimmt die Größe einer Byte-Array-Definition, die in einer Struktur für 9 Botschaften verwendet wird. For anyone still experiencing this issue, here’s how I managed to solve it: Symptoms: 1. Sometimes, on the first start of CODESYS Runtime, the modules fail to run. 2. After disconnecting and reconnecting the communication cable, the drive does not start again. 3. MC_Reset cannot clear the fault. Solution (what worked for me): 1. Check the axis communication using the SMC_CheckAxisCommunication function block (FB). 2. If CheckAxisCommunication.eComState of the axis is equal to or higher than SMC_CommunicationState.SMC_COMSTATE_BASE_COM_INITIALIZATION, then 3. Use the SMC3_ReinitDrive function block to reset the drive — and it works. Hallo, Ich bastele gerade an einer möglichst einfachen Möglichkeit mit der ich prüfen kann ob ein String Sonderzeichen enthält. Mein Ansatz ist ein ST FB mit einer Case Schrittkette. Ich vergleiche jedes Zeichen des Strings mit allen Zeichen eines vorher definierten Strings erlaubter Zeichen, der A-Z, a-z und 0-9 enthält und ggf angepasst werden kann, wenn ich weitere Zeichen erlaube. Leider wird meine j Zählervariable nicht richtig ausgeführt. Hat da jemand eine Idee? Oder gibt es eine einfachere Lösung/einen fertigen FB den ich mir anschauen kann? Good morning everyone. In my setup I am trying to use a couple of EL7041-0052 (the EL7041 variant without terminals for an encoder) to run stepper motors without feedback. When using the softmotion drivers for the EL7041 (Rev22 and Rev24, even selecting external feedback type doesn't work) the device log shows warnings for the corresponding hardware: "SDO write error 0x1 -> 0x8012:0x08 eError 0x1 AbortCode 0x6090011". 0x8012:0x08 is the register for the Feedback Type. My best guess was setting the the register value in the start parameters to zero, but the result is the same. What else can I try to get the hardware to work? I have screenshots attatched showing the running fieldbus and the log messages. EDIT: One clarification: the "device log" that shows the error is the PLC, not the ethercat terminal. The log of the terminal itself shows neither errors nor warnings. BR Robert

I have a DFRobot RS485 temperature & humidity sensor (SEN0438) connected to my Raspberry Pi via a USB to RS485 adapter. I am able to connect and read the sensor data when running a python code locally. However in Codesys, I encounter this error "A bus error has occurred." and "There was no response in time". Could this be because of Modbus Server Channel and Modbus Server Init configuration on my part? Admittedly I am new to Codesys. To get to this stage, I: 1. added some lines to CODESYSControl_User.cfg 2. added "Modbus_COM" in Codesys and set "Serial Port Configuration" under "General" 3. added "Modbus_Master_COM_Port" in Codesys and checked transmission mode is set to "RTU" 4. added "Modbus_Slave_COM_Port" in Codesys and checked server address is set to 1 (also set 1 in my sensor) 5. added 1 channel and 1 init for "Modbus_Slave_COM_Port" under "Modbus Server Channel" and "Modbus Server Init"

Note that all the other code is pretty standard and works fine, but when I add the below it errors. hi there , can someone tell me how to deal with this error , please? I use the Linux ARM64SL (4.11) on a bullseye distro and when I want to update or install some package, I have the following reply : pi@NanoPi-R5C:~$ sudo apt upgrade Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Reading state information... Done You might want to run 'apt --fix-broken install' to correct these. The following packages have unmet dependencies: ** codesyscontrol : Depends: codemeter but it is not installable or codemeter-lite but it is not installable** E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt --fix-broken install' with no packages (or specify a solution). and if I try apt --fix-broken install as suggested, I have a proposal to uninstall codesyscontrol ... :-D so I tried to search if there is some Codesys repo: nothing, then I tried to see if ther was something inside Codesys dev (V3.5.20) and I only found that by reading/requesting my device, i spoted that codemeter was too old . I don't see how to deal with this issue. is there a codemeter.deb somewhere ? thanks in advance for any help.

This explanation aligns with the issues we’re experiencing with our machines. The scenario I described is happening with one of them (let’s call it Machine A). This machine is identical to another one (Machine B), except for some custom code that facilitates communication with an external Beckhoff PLC for MES integration in the production line. Machine B has been powered on and off daily for at least three months and has never had this problem. Given that, I highly doubt the MES custom code is the cause of the code corruption. This being said, your explanation does seem plausible. However, if faulty EtherCAT cables were the issue, why wouldn't the error occur during normal operation? Why would bad cables only cause problems during a hard shutdown? One last question: When you encountered this behavior, did you see a similar error in your logs? i.e, an "AccessViolation" exception in the EtherCAT Task?

Hello, This is my first time using Codesys, I am trying to add EtherNetIP communication to a Raspberry PI. I’ve added the EtherNetIP Adapter configured the network setting and added some modules to the pi but when I download the project it generates the following error: “There is no source code available for the object because it is in the compiled library ‘cip object, 4.5.1.0 (3s – smart software solution gmbh)’. Do you want to browse for the original library in order to display the source code? There are 2 errors in the log which are: SOURCEPOSITION App=[Application] area=3, offset=332760 EXCEPTION [Application] occurred: App=[Application], Task=[ENIPAdapterServiceTask] I can’t for the life of me work out how to get around this. I can’t find the source code anywhere or any information regarding this error. I’m using Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 3, the version of the Ethernet adapter is 4.5.1.0 and the version of the modules is 4.1.0.0. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have set up a brandnew Beckhoff panel pc with a codesys control runtime V3. I configured it together with 2 profinet field devices: a 16in/16out IO module from Turck and an MTS linear encoder. The machine works fine untill all of a sudden the communication breaks and the profinet participants become unreachable. At that point I can still ping the device, but the profinet master does not find them anymore: When i do a scan they are not found. When i do a cold restart, the profinet master becomes active again and the devices are found again. In the log i get Ethercat packet receive error: sysethernet. I am a little confused, there is no ethercat device in the device tree. I already set the send clock and the reduction ratio to higher values, but without result. Can codesys be configured, so that the communication re-establishes without doing the cold reset? This is very annoying and is causing a lot of prodution losses. regards Tim

Can codesys be configured, so that the communication re-establishes without doing the cold reset? This is very annoying and is causing a lot of prodution losses. regards Tim

Hi I am trying use the Codesys Communication Manager to set up an Opc ua server with a custom information model. As a start I am using the Boiler model available on Opc foundations github page. I am testing with a Wago CC100 and using Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 6. I get the following error: Communication Manager [Device: PLC Logic: Application]: The information model http://opcfoundation.org/UA/ is required by http://opcfoundation.org/UA/Boiler/ with a minimal publication date from 15/12/2023 but the device has only a model from 15/09/2021 installed. Probably the information model from 15/09/2021 is missing in the information model repository. The error message does not make sense to me. Should it not be “Probably the information model from 15/12/2023 is missing in the information model repository”? Anyway, both versions are available in the repository. How can I solve this?

Hi, On a gantry system with 2 axis i am getting the following error: SMC_DI_FIELDBUS_LOST_SYNCRONICITY This happens random, sometimes it happens every 5 minutes and sometimes no error for 2 hours... The Setup: - Using codesys 3.5 SP20 with all latest libs... - Kontron AL Pi-Tron CM4 with Preempt realtime patch (Raspberry Pi 4) - Codesys runtime 4.11.0.0 (single core) - CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL licensed - Softmotion + CNC + Robotics licensed - 2x Leadshine EL8-EC400 servo drives - Axis group for a 2-axis T-Gantry Ethercat network wiring: Ethercat master softmotion -> Beckhoff EK1100 -> Servo drive #1 -> Servo drive #2 Ethercat Cycle time = 4ms Max Jitter = 140~150 What i have tried so far: - changed the sync offset from 20% to 30% - changed ethercat task priority from 1 to 0 Running tasks: - Ethercat tast: Prio = 0, Interval = 4ms - Main task: Prio = 1, Interval = 8ms - Visu task: Prio = 31, Interval = 100ms - Softmotion planning task: Prio = 15, Freewheeling - 3 other default tasks that were created by AC_Persist Motion fb's are called in the ethercat task... Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated!

So here's how: I manually installed the following packages: codemeter-lite_8.30.6885.501_amd64.deb codesyslicenseserver_licenseserver_4.18.0.0_all.deb codesyswbmbase_wbmbase_4.18.0.0_all.deb codesyswbmlicensing_wbmlicensing_4.18.0.0_all.deb Of course, the license server appeared immediately. Trying to install it again using Install in the Deploy tab, the same error appears. Of course, the information that such a server is already installed is also there. Configuring PLC, S_PLC, EDGE, and SAFE_TIMER_PROVIDER went smoothly, and basically everything works. I wrote a simple program for S_PLC. I'm loading the programs into PLC and S_PLC. When loading the program into S_PLC, a message appears stating that there is no connection to the S_PLC controller. Timeout error. Restart the controller, attempt to load, and see the above. After changing the cycle time for S_PLC to 50ms, the problem no longer occurs. My question, besides the difficulty of installation for a new user, is what causes the cycle time for S_PLC to be so long, and how can I fix it?

Hi All, I wonder which way is correct or better? I would like to register my own component in order to use it in CMPLog. I can use CMAddComponent() or CMAddComponent2() to do it. The main difference is whether I provide udiCmpId myself or it will be generated by runtime. But I don't know which way is correct. Please look at those two examples below. Hello! I'm working with Codesys SP21 Patch 4. The project builds without any errors. When trying to upload my project to Codesys Runtime V3 x64 I get a lot of Unresolved Reference errors, all with FU- at the start and then -CLOSELAYER2, -GETBUSINFO, -GETFRAME etc. I also get a error pop-up that I should 'update device' in the project but it's not specified to which version or anything useful really.There's also not much to choose from. When I check Runtime version in the systray I get 3.5.21.40 and it's the same as I have set up in the project as the device. All information I get is that it should be clear from the errors but no useful information is provided in the errors. Do I need to install some library? I checked other posts and for different reference error and this was the answer. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I'm trying to install Codesys SP21p6 (but the error occurs in SP22 too for eg.) but it fails to install ApplicationComposer. Trying to install myself (version 4.4.0.0 or 4.5.0.0) by clicking 'changing the installation' from the Codesys Installer isn't better. The only message I get is "An error occured during the installation: The file [..]/ApplicationComposer.plugin.dll isn't a valid plugin" How is that? The installation went good the last time before a reinstallation... However, installing the version 4.3.0.0 seems to be successful without knowing what's the difference. I already tried to : - Restart my computer - Delete all temporary files in C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\Temporary Files - Download the package from the store - Compare the ApplicationComposer.plugin.dll from another computer (where the installation is OK) and it's exatly the same For your information, I can install other packages, such as Codesys CFC Can you help me? Do you have any idea of what could be the problem?
