Im using a pointer as input for a FB and for convenience I like to use 'referenced' variable internally. I use this setup in methods which works because internal variables are instantiated for each call. In a FB these variables are instantiated and initiated for the first call only. Is there a pragma/attribute available that changes this behaviour to mirror a 'method'-call?

I have noticed that Codesys doesn't provide option to Export any Visualization objects even though there is option to check to export VISU_TASK, which is strange because when Import in another empty project, user will end up with build errors. I understand that probable reason for this is that PLCOpenXML specification includes only "PLC" parts of the project (POU, PRG, variable lists, device ....), but not sure about it. Perhaps, there is some option to include visu objects also in the plcopen xml export list??

In that case, the best thing to do might be to track the offset in a separate variable of your logic, then when you provide target positions, make your target position use the tracked offset as below: ActualTargetPosition := (TargetPosition + MyOffset) MOD 360; Although, upon further reflection, you'll still have the same cycle time issues. You might be able to break your code into multiple tasks to reduce the cycle time, or use an Event task to capture the offset position?

My code uses “$DB,” which in ASCII should render as a solid block. The code works, but to display it in Visualization I had to create multiple rectangles with visibility bound to a BOOL array. That works, but since each BOOL must be exposed as a separate variable, it consumes most of the available monitoring resources. See Attached image.

I am deploying a webvisu on Codesys 3.5 SP 19.2 with legacy user management. I noticed that when a user logs in, some text and a rectangle I have (for aesthetics) both disappear. I made sure that none of the objects in question are linked to a state variable. Anyone know the cause/solution to this? Nothing crucial to the machine's function is lost, but it is a little annoying.

Hi, I'm creating a program where I need to handle arrays, like: - Declare lenght variable arrays - [array(1..var) of "sometype"]. This is not possible in pure codesys, right? - Know array lenght, min, max, avg values in runtime - append/delete itens in an array - and so on Is there a library know for this in codesys. Is it possible to build our own libraries using some high level language like python or java script?

thank you for pointing me to this "bug"!! I haven't recognized, the bit is reset after the first alarm is gone. I use this only for warnings, so it's not a drama, but was not correct in the past. I solved it now simply stupid by counting up a variable every time an alarm appears and decreasing it if an alarm is gone. The "warning lamp" is activated by checking the counter is > 0 The nice side effect, i'm able to show the number of active alarms in the state line now.

What am I doing wrong?

Hello, I have a counter that increments an INT value once per minute I want to display this value in Minutes until 60, then Hours/Minutes thereafter on the HMI Codesys V3.5 SP16 I can divide the minutes by 60 to get hours, but then the minutes is still more than 60. Example: a process has run for 350 Minutes. I need to display "5 Hours 50 Minutes" But if it's only been 45 Minutes, I don't want "0 Hours 45 Minutes" , just "45 Minutes"

Hello everyone, maybe someone can help me with the following problem. I wanted to insert a trend element in my visualization. The problem is that I have set fixed fonts with a scaling of 1.5 for the individual languages via the visualization manager. This setting means that I have this scaling in every element, which has been quite comfortable so far because I didn't have to set the individual properties in the text fields. But in the trend element, even if I select other font sizes or fonts in the element itself, this font is also overwritten and I get a label on the x-axis that is no longer displayed correctly. Is there a way to prevent the overwriting of the font properties in this element or similar behavior? I mean, I could change the font size of each element manually, but the Visu app is a bit larger and it would be easier to have another option. Best regards Etienne

I am trying to install the MQTT Client SL in an existing project I have been working on for years. After adding the library to the project, and without adding any other code, upon building I get a C0180: Ambiguous namespace 'MBM' error between the memory block manager (MBM) in the NetBaseSrv dependency of the MQTT Client SL library and the memory block manager (MBM) in the CAA CanL2 dependency of the 3S CANopen stack library. I have tried: * setting "Only allow qualified access to all identifiers." in the properties for both the parent libraries. * deleting the 3S CANopen stack library. Upon (re)building the error simply points to another conflicting library - there are many. * deleting the Library Manager and rebuilding it. * adding the memory block manager library (used in the NetBaseSrv) manually and changing its namespace to MBM3S. None of the above allow me to access the MQTT library through its namespace (MQTT). Adding the memory block manager manually removes the C0180 error, but the MQTT library is not accessible - i.e. mqttClient : MQTT.MQTTClient; highlights the mqttClient as "Identifier 'MQTT.MQTTClient' not defined". Is there anything else I can try?

Hello, This is my first time using Codesys, I am trying to add EtherNetIP communication to a Raspberry PI. I’ve added the EtherNetIP Adapter configured the network setting and added some modules to the pi but when I download the project it generates the following error: “There is no source code available for the object because it is in the compiled library ‘cip object, 4.5.1.0 (3s – smart software solution gmbh)’. Do you want to browse for the original library in order to display the source code? There are 2 errors in the log which are: SOURCEPOSITION App=[Application] area=3, offset=332760 EXCEPTION [Application] occurred: App=[Application], Task=[ENIPAdapterServiceTask] I can’t for the life of me work out how to get around this. I can’t find the source code anywhere or any information regarding this error. I’m using Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 3, the version of the Ethernet adapter is 4.5.1.0 and the version of the modules is 4.1.0.0. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello, I'm using Codesys V3.5 SP18 Patch 4. In the ElementCollectionExample Project from Codesys, I test the SimpleQueueExample in a Control Win V3 x64 environment. I try to add a string of 95 characters length to a queue. The default length of strings is defined as 80 characters. In the initialization of a string variable, it is possible to increase the length by the definition of e.g. STRING(1000). But when I write the string defined like this to the queue, only 80 characters are written to it and the rest is missing. I think the default length is still set in the queue definition, so it is necessary to change this, isn't it? Is there any option to increase the default length of strings in the queue? Good afternoon. I want to communicate with a Domino Industrial Printer using its Codenet protocol. The printer wants a series of Hexadecimal characters with no spaces or '00' characters. Because of that i chose the option to make the prefix and subfix for my code in a string. I have variable data in another string. With a complete program of a lot of CONCAT functions i eventually get the format of code that the printer accepts ( tested it with the hercules tool). Hercules String : 1B4F513030311B7532626C61636B04 The problem is : Codesys adds automatically 'code' to the code to show it is a string. Codesys string : '1B4F513030311B7532626C61636B04' The printer does not understand this. My idea is to convert the string datatype to an LWORD. I have no idea how to do this. I random types in STRING_TO_DWORD, as return i get 0. That didn't worked. Also on internet the explenations around string converting in codesys are very limited. If there in anyone who can explain me how to do it, i would appreciate it a lot ! Thank you!

To get the current visu for all your individual web clients, you could iterate over them, using the same library 1) Create a new function block which implements VU.IVisualizationClientIteration 2) Create an instance of this function block + add an instance of the "iterate" function block fbIterateCallBack : FB_IterateOverClients; // this implements VU.IVisualizationClientIteration fbVuIterate : VU.FbIterateClients; // this FB iterates over all clients 3) Call the fbVuIterate and set the reference to the call back FB. Good morning, I'm new on Codesys Forge, so I'm not sure if this is the right place to talk about my problem. When I open my WebVisu pages with Microsoft Edge, or Chrome, the background and also some rectangles blinking without reason!!! The application is developed with Codesys 3.5.17.10 and run on Codesys HMI, same version (3.5.17.10). After several experiments I discover that the problem happens when I made dynamic the "End of area" property of a meter object, but I can't understand why this blinking problem happens. Also, the problem is only at the WebVisu page, the "normal" VISU pages (the ones opened when Codesys HMI start) work always perfectly. Another strange thing is that the problem happens only if on the same page, where there is the meter object, there is also a trend object!?!? Codesys HMI is running on a Virtual Machine (VMware Workstation 15 player, v.15.5.6) running Windows 10 Pro N 64-bit. The blinking problem happen also if I convert the project to Codesys 3.5.20.0. This version of Codesys and Codesys HMI are installed on a Virtual Machine running Windows Server 2019 Standard 64-bit. In attachment the archive of my project. The attached project has only one page, if "Enable Counter" is not pressed the "End of area" variable of the meter is not updated in the software, and everything work well, normal VISU and WebVisu; if "Enable Counter" is pressed, the "End of area" variable of the meter is updated in the software, and the WebVisu page start blinking. I tried also to enable the "Support client animations and overlay..." property at VisualizationManager, this seems stop the blinking problem, but that property also destroy my WebPage, moving almost all the graphical object, that also seem not working anymore. I really need help to understand what I'm doing wrong, I have to develop a bigger project and I have to understand if trend objects and animated meters cannot stay in the same page. In the final project the WebVisu will be very important because the customer will use this way to access the application to monitor the process. Regards

Hello, what you are seeing is not strange behavior. The problem is that everyting is happening in the same program cycle. After the variable Stepnumber is changed from 10 to 20 for example then you want the program to wait with the next EQ until the next program cycle. Else every EQ will be be true because in every line the variable Stepnumber is increased. When the program arrives (still in the same cycle) at the line with the timer, the Stepnumber has been increased to 30 in the meantime and the timer will allway be ON because even though the variable is written to 10 in this line in the next cycle it starts with 10 and will be 30 again before reaching the timer in line 8. Not very good at explaining stuff but i hope you get the problem. See screenshot below for an example of one way you could solve this...

Hi everyone, I just created a very simple library without any code and, added it to my very simple project. after adding this library, I get an error when I try to open "Symbol Set" in "OPC UA Server" in "Communication Manager". Here is the code of my POU in the library: FUNCTION_BLOCK POU VAR eCommand : (CMD_NONE:=0, CMD_RESET:=-1) INT := CMD_NONE; END_VAR Attached is the error that I get. I also noticed that by removing the enumeration variable above (eCommand), I can open the "Symbol Set" again. Anybody has any idea why this error is raised and how could I use enumeration variables without error in "OPC UA Symbol Set"?

Hi, I tried some different libraries (CmpApp etc.) to find some global variables that I could read out as a variable in the codesys environment. Do any one of you know which libraries are best suited for this, and how I can read it out? My goal is to send messages, warnings etc. to the system that communicates to the PLC. Currently if something goes wrong I need to see the logfiles, or go online with the controller. I think I could save a lot of time if I could read the errors from our user interface that is connected to the PLC by TCP/IP.

Hello, In my projects, I'm following this recommendation about the rule names in Codesys https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_rules.html, so I always use backtick identifiers, not only for variables, but also for the object names. However, I have noticed that in the current version of Codesys, when adding Visu object, it is not allowed to used these identifiers in the name. This is very different from all other objects like, folder names, POU names, Variable list names etc. I wonder if there is some hidden settings I can use to enable backtick identifiers in the Visu object names?
