Dear folks, I think I have a rather simple question but I could not find the right answer to my question: I have made with Excel a CSV file where I would like to have some general data regarding my program variables. I have made an program what let me read the file. The string I am currently get is at follows: 'IP_Adres;192.168.45.12$R$NPort_number;2000$R$NCycle_time;43$R$NStart_Standard_IO;20$R$N' Now I want to split the string in multiple part, which I later would connect to the right variable. By Google and experimenting I have reached to the following code for the first part of the splitting proces: // Splitting the BOM of the string: Received_string := FileReadString; IF LEFT(STR:=New_string,3)= '' THEN Received_string_without_BOM :=RIGHT(STR:= Received_string,SIZE:= (LEN(STR:= Received_string))-3); END_IF //Splitting the remaining string in part for later declaration. WHILE index = 0 DO index_split_part := FIND(STR1:= Received_string_without_BOM,STR2:= '$R$N'); Part_of_String[index]:=LEFT(STR:=Received_string_without_BOM, SIZE:= index_split_part); index := index + 1; END_WHILE However in the splitting proces I could not understand what is really happening. I understand that the Find() function returns the first value the $R$N in the Received_string_without_BOM. This would mean that the index_split_part := 23 I|P| _ |A |d|r|e|s|;|1_|9 |2 |. |1 |6 |8 |. |4 |5 |. |1 |2 |$ |R |$ |N |P | 1|2| 3 |4 |5|6|7|0|9|10|11|12|13|14|15|16|17|18|19|20|21|22|23|24|25|26|27| So the next part is to read the first 23 characters of the Received_string_without_BOM with the LEFT() function. I expected that the outcome the following was: 'IP_Adres;192.168.45.12$'. However the outcome is: 'IP_Adres;192.168.45.12$R'. I do not understand where the R after the $ sign comes from, because its place is 24 so it would not be added to the part_of the_string[index]. If I hard coded value 24 for the size it gives me the following return: 'IP_Adres;192.168.45.12$R$N'. I would expect everything till the R but the code adds the $N also to the string. I hope someone could explain to my what I am seeing wrong in my point of view? With kind regards, George

Hi! Do anybody know how I can add and enable the parameter 'Default Modbus TCP slave' on a device? I am currently writing a program where the PLC shall be set up as a Modbus TCP client, but I dont know how to add parameters to devices in codesys. I'm pretty new to the codesys environment. The picture in the attachment is on a similar PLC project where I have not written the code. my goal is to add this parameter in another project.

Hi, I am using Codesyscontrol for linux 4.11 with an USB dongle with license. The log file from codemeter shows a constant error message which repeats every minute: Entry (6000437:8755) not found - Event WB0200 (ENTRY NOT FOUND), Request IP-Address local(IPV4) with UserLimit API Error 200 (ENTRY NOT FOUND) occurred! The log file from Codesyscontrol itself shows runtime licensed and I experience no other issues. But I am still concerned about the error message in the log file. Does anybody know what this is and how to fix it? thanks

I am CODESYS neophyte getting my wheels on. My goal is to re-platform an existing PLC application written in 61131 ST I've got the majority of the code/variables in a compilable form - excluding all the IO and comms nuances I am not sure whether this the right forum An important functionality which I implemented on the other platform was totally dynamic modbus devices... Most configurations I have come across impose static MB configs in which all configured devices MUST be present and functional... I have monkeyed around with MB enough to know that herding a half dozen MB cats into a working config can be tricky. I just do them one at a time and dynamically turn them on/off in whatever combination is convenient with ID, IP, baud, parity etc being runtime tweakable. I am totally curious whether this is possible with codesys, or whether its device configuration corrals one into a static cage which requires re-building the code to support flexible variations. Looking for a better way to manage Persistent Variables. We tend to have local vars in our FBs that need persistence through downloads as the systems are updated/altered on a regular basis. Retain would suffice if we had an easy mechanism to backup and restore like we can with Persistent variables and recipes. Although not having to remember that step with Persistent variables is preferred. We're running into issues with persistent storage capacity (WAGO PFC200) using the Persistent variable list (and adding all instances). It appears there are many ways to handle this, some with recipes, some with files, others with application manager. Is there a solution that exists that is as simple as declaring as Persistent and managing elsewhere? Or do we need to move onto periodically writing CSVs?

Hi Thanks, Manuel, for providing this solution and insight. I too had exactly the same problem as you did. While I did implement a custom filter, I'd also like to point out what jinlee mentioned above...I see no reference to VU.PublicVariables.Clients.Current anywhere?? In my case I only needed to show a dialog on a "master" client, not all the clients, so I filtered by IP address to do this.

Hi everyone, I need some help with displaying an image (test.png) on my device. Initially, showing the image is straightforward. However, I want to be able to update the image dynamically. My goal is to send updated files via FTP to the device, and have the display automatically show the latest version of the image. All images will be sent with the same name (e.g., test.png). Currently, I can see the updated image after sending it via FTP and performing a warm restart, but I'd like to achieve this in runtime, without having to restart the display or application. Does anyone have suggestions on how to implement this? Thanks in advance!

Hello all, Encountered an issue with my zero which seems to have happened after the 4.11 update. It now runs in demo mode (2hr) and I am trying to see what the appropriate steps are prior to contacting codesys directly. Background: I recently did a fresh install of w11 on my pc, so it seems "c:\ProgramData\CODESYS\Licenses\" only has information related to my pi5, which I licensed just this past Friday. I have all my license documentation about my rpi zero as far as the emails received, but when I try to claim using the ticket number it says its already been used, or something to that effect, which it was. Currently trying to perform device license reader, which is taking some time.

I couldn't exactly solve the file transfer when I wanted to do multiple transfers while the compiler was open in a way that I couldn't understand. Notification from target: runtime received SIGABRT - system may be in an inconsistent state * We recommend a reboot of the controller now! * details of the target component that sent this notification: [CmpName=SysExcept, CmpId=0x00000103, ClassID=0X0001008, ErrorID=0X00000001, InfoID= 0X0000000j] I see the warning. ditto I'm just getting my codesys wheels on and the modbus stuff is confusing. I am re-platforming an existing PLC application On that platform one could simply tag variables to register numbers and the whole shooting match could be accessed via modbus and typically holding registers and input registers were treated the same way... On codesys I see there is a modbus TCP server Device I/O mapping tab and a Modbus TCP server IEC objects tab I get the sense that one can configure the serving of variables both/either way but am unclear about the optimum/necessary path. Apparently in the IEC Objects tab one can "ADD" something or other - presumeably channels. I have created a preliminary function block but the Select Function Block window shows nothing to select WTH ? I exported the Device mapping and was surprised to see the entire Device IO map - complete with all the bit-mapped holding/input registers!! WTH!!?? Bit-mapped words are strictly a nichey special purpose application. I am targetting making a couple hundred variables available which would turn into hundreds of pages of IO/mapping Is the FUnction Block IEC objects thingy an alternative to that ? I notice that CODESYS shows the tags which the PLC used to specify the register address... are tags used in CODESYS for any specific hard-core purpose ?

Hi, I haven´t noticed you put the comment here. I thing it´s a bit different. What I want is to have detail errors of technology in data type e.g. INT. This variable I would latch to the corresponding error msg but I would like to get it convert to text from the text list and not keep it in INT form. Example. Main error Valve Error: SubErrors 1 - Both sensors 2 - Not retracted in time 3 - Not pulled out in time In HMI Main error + latch SubErrors => "Valve Error: Both sensors" The benefit is that text lists are part of translation and can be easily manipulated. I know I can create whole string msg in PLC but then, it lose advantage of Alarm management. Thanks. M.

It doesn't load differently codesys seems to be behaving differently. Original version of ethercat master in project archive is 3.5.15.50, compiler is 16.4 as is codesys I'm using. It builds fine in vm and not on local machine. The reason is not obvious. It builds on local machine with ethercat master at 3.5.16.0. I'd really appreciate advice

Hello, I'm trying to use the Web Client SL library, I installed it in the IDE (did not purchase a license yet, as this is still a proof of concept so demo mode is good enough) and added it to the library manager. However, when trying to define a FB of the type WebClient I get a "Identifier 'WebClient' not defined" error message, setting the type to Web_Client_SL.WebClient did not work as well. Opening the example project the FBs defined there give the same error message. From the problem in the example project I deduce this is not a syntax problem, so maybe a license problem, but there should be a working demo mode, so what am I missing? IDE v 3.5.21.30 Library v 1.12.0.0 Thanks
