I swear I tested this like 20 times yesterday without success. Repeated it today and it works. Maybe the system needed a "real" power reboot? To note. To make a manual edit of a variable I tried some different approaches this is what worked for me. "system/online edited" gvl_var.example_variable REAL:F16#2FFB334H-4 767.7 "manually edited" (with runtime stopped followed by a "cold start" to read from file) gvl_var.example_variable REAL:790.1 (the system will use the manual value but will not set an equivalent "hex" value until next online edit/write cycle)

First make sure the programming laptop and HMI are both on the same subnet. For example if the IP address of the HMI is 192.168.1.125 with a subnet mask 255.255.255.0 set your laptop IP to 192.168.1.120 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. Make sure the cables are fully connected (the ethernet port on my programming laptop will click once but the cable is not fully seated.) Make sure the HMI is powered on, try pinging the device from a command prompt, if you can't ping the HMI there is a network issue that has to be resolved first.

Hi, sorry I was not there for a long time. The TCA9548 needs terminating resistors, do you have them in? That's why I went to QWIIC, the muxboard already has them built in. If it still does not work, try it first without the muxboard. PS: Note the channel assignment. Muxboard 0 = I2C_Master 1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0 Muxboard 1 = I2C_Master 2,0,0,0,0,0,0,0 etc.

When trying to connect to a Github repository in the Git remotes windows of Codesys, the user can be the account username or the account email, while the password is the Github token. (I know this is an old topic, but I lost some time figuring it out from the guides.)

OK, that makes sense. Because the FB is provided a specific interval period, it would change the target position accordingly based on the time it "thought" elapsed. If it has the wrong interval provided, it updates the target positions every cycle incorrectly so the axes will end up moving faster or slower. Thanks!

Hi, I have the same problem. Some of the libraries I created over time depend on writing files to a folders like c:\Temp. I can confirm that proposed solution is not working with 3.5.20 Patch 2. Can you please specify wich exactly .cfg file needs to be modified and in what way, in order to include c:\Temp in the SysFile path? Thank you!

Add the object "POU for Implicit Checks" to your application, then select "Bounds check". This will create a function which is automatically called each time an array is write accessed. In the function you can handle "out of bounds" situations. By default it will be limited to its lower or upper bound.

Hi, we did install the real-time kernel patch on the RPI and also performed the additional optimizations including isolating the cores. Changing the configuration of the planning task e.g. running it on a separate core, changing the cycle times and mode from cyclic to freewheeling did not show any improvements.

One workaround is to create a second application which is started after the rested of the main application. The second application starts the main application after time x and is rest after done start of the main application. No problems during the fieldbus re-start by this workaround.

ENG For some reason, I can't bind a variable to the data parameter. Also, why does only the sdo_read4 function work for me? I also can't write through sdo_write4. I can only view the received values via sdo_read4. Please help me with this task. Moreover, I tried to write the values through sdo write 4 and for a while the data stopped being written and I overwritten it manually and sdo read4 started working again and at the same time they do not want to work in the main task. RU Я не могу почему то привязать переменную к параметру data. Так же у меня почему работает только функция sdo_read4 так же не могу записать через sdo_write4. Могу только просматривать полученные значения через sdo_read4. Помогите пожалуйста с этой задачей. Причём я попытался записать значения через sdo write 4 и у меня на какое то время перестали записываться данные и перезаписал вручную и sdo read4 начал работать снова и одновременно они не хотят работать в main task.

I recognized that I have to start the two services "/etc/init.d/codemeter" and "/etc/init.d/codemeter-webadmin" in the docker container as well. If I do so, then the command "cmu -x" returns root@sensoredge-field-netfield-produktmanagment:/# cmu -x cmu - CodeMeter Universal Support Tool. Version 7.60c of 2023-Aug-09 (Build 5625) for Linux/ARMHF 64-Bit Copyright (C) 2007-2023 by WIBU-SYSTEMS AG. All rights reserved. So this time there is no indication any more that "Codemeter is not running". But still we are getting the error when using the license manager in CODESYS development system.

Hi, everyone! I'm trying to set up a PLC controller and a connection to an EtherCAT slave device in Codesys. I want to create a flexible program that I can upload to multiple controllers with different remote IO connected (same program). On one plant i may have 5 AI-cards and 3 DO-cards, and on another I may have 4 AI-cards and 2 DO-cards. For not needing to maintain several different programs wih different devices defined in the program (one for each set up) I thought that using a remote IO would make it easier having a single program. That way I could refer to different memory addresses instead of predefined slots/channels and IO's, that would give me errors if there was a different IO on the plant than what the program expected. When I tried setting up the etherCAT master, I saw that I had to define the etherCAT slave devices with the different IO'cards for me to be able to refer to the memory addresses in a PRG. Exactly what I was trying to avoid. My setup is something like a program that can handle 16 separate pump controls. In a year maybe 6 plans get deployed, and depending on how large the project is, the number of pumps can vary between 4 and 16. And the managers dont want to have IO's for all 16 pumps on every cabinet, and I dont want to maintain 16 separate projects files in case of updates etc. I thought the best way to tackle this was having a single project that read/write data to the different pump IO's by remote IO (fieldbus ethercat) addresses. And the number of pump controls are activated by an external GUI. If pump 1-6 is activated by the GUI, then the PLC-program tries to read/write input/outputs from predefined addresses for the expected IO's. My test setup is a PFC200 WAGO controller and a EtherCAT fieldbus coupler (750-354) with some IO. I hope I didn't explain this too horrible, and if there is a more easy and elegant solution for this challenge I appreciate a feedback on this.

Hi there! I'm using eCockpit WAGO software to develop HMI's for multiple projects. As I recently starting this, my knowledge on the software is somewhat limited (so maybe my question is a simple one). For most of my projects I can simulate the application and start it to test the code and HMI. However for two projects, I can initiate the "simulation activation" but I cannot start it. Nothing happens when I press start and the visualization shows "The online visualization is waiting for connection. please start the application". - I don't see any errors in the messages - Initially the project are made by a colleague, which moved on. I guess I'm forgetting something, like missing a setting. I appreciate any help I can get. If you need more information to help me out, let me know. Thanks!

Hi Everybody, I'm looking for a simple way of comparing two array of a structure. My structure is define like this : TYPE Positions_T : STRUCT PosX: DINT; PosY: DINT; PosZ: DINT; END_STRUCT END_TYPE I have multiples Var : ARRAY [0..220] OF Positions_T, that I need to compare quickly. I don't really want to do a Loop that goes by every 220 points and compare each one of them so I was wondering if there is another way. I came accross the MEM.Compare function, but it require to know the size in Bytes of the memory, and I don't know how to do that... Has anybody an idea on how to do the comparing easily ? Dear all, I have a project where I have two ModbusTCP communication drivers in the application. It's working normally until a power outage or the installation panel is restarted. As soon as the PLC CPU is restarted, the Ethernet port is OK, but the TCP Server displays an "UNDEFINED" error. I can't reset the error using the diagnostic confirmation or the "mbserver.xConfirmError" bit. I noticed that the error only appears in the "mbserver.byModbusError" memory and the description is "UNDEFINED." The "mbserver.xError" memory doesn't flag an error. When using the warm restart function and then START CPU, the devices return to normal operation. The following demonstration images; The main question is: How can I make devices boot automatically? Um using Codesys Version 3.5.20.30 Patch 3+ My CPU is a Weintek Cmtx Built-int - ( CMT3092x )

I am studying and developing a Softmotion+CNC system for a machine that executes multiple pieces. The G code program is written by the machine operator and each cycle execute 1 piece. The programs are large, exceeding 1000 lines and using up to 8 axes (X, Y, Z, A, B, C, P and Q). The machine needs to run cyclically, executing N pieces (selected by the Operator)... so I tested it using Looping and counters (G36 G37 and G20) and it worked, but it takes a long time to process, and the more pieces I need, the longer the processing time and this is totally impracticable. I found this solution which was very good, and for a few cycles it works well, but for 99999 pieces of a program with 1000 lines, it doesn't work very well... Another solution I tested is to maintain the interpolator with an automatic restart, that is, I load the program without looping (without G20) and give it another start as soon as it finishes. This partially resolved it, but there is still a delay in processing SMC_NCInterpreter in each restart :(. Another solution I thought of is to manually create the SMC_GEOINFO structure and then reuse it, avoinding the Interpreter, but reading the documentation and checking the structure filled by standard blocks, I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a "JUMP" function in the structure! In other words, the SMC_NCInterpreter actually keeps copying and copying the program section for each jump (G20)... If I repeat a 10-line program 1000 times, I will have a structure with more than 10000 lines... possibly this is the cause of take so long to process. Has anyone ever had a problem like this? I believe the same thing happens with typical applications with manipulator robots using Codesys in continuous cycles, and I would like to know if there is any solution, or even if I am misinterpreting the G20 question in SMC_GEOINFO. Hello, I am using Codesys sp20p3 and IIoT library 1.11. I am trying to test QoS 1 & 2 and I have some issues. I am using mosquitto as the broker. I am also using some other MQTT clients like Node-Red and TwinCAT. They all work as expected for every QoS levels. I only have issues with Codesys MQTT client. In the Codesys client, if I subscribe to a topic as QoS 1 or 2, and a client publishes to this topic, I receive the message. But if I disconnect the Codesys client from the network and a client publishes to the subscribed topic, when I reconnect Codesys client to the network, I don't receive the messages as expected. Also there does not seem to be an auto-reconnect feature. So I have to manually set the mqttClient.xEnable bit to FALSE then back to TRUE in order to reconnect to the broker, then I also have to set the subscribe.xEnable to FALSE and back to TRUE in order to re-subscribe to the topic, but even then, I don't receive the messages that were published while I was disconnected. What am I doing wrong? I set the cleanSession bit to FALSE and I give my client a clientID. With the TwinCAT MQTT Client, I do the same thing and everything works as expected. It even auto-reconnects to the broker. I would expect Codesys MQTT Client to be as reliable as TwinCAT. Maybe I am doing something wrong? I also noticed that when trying to publish a QoS 1 or 2 message while disconnected from the broker, it does not work. In TwinCAT, I am still able to publish. The messages are stored in the client and published once reconnected to the broker. I would expect to be able to do the same thing in Codesys. Is this all possible? Am I doing something wrong? Hello, i need to create an application that uses 2 masters, with 2 different ratios, and it outputs in one single slave. I explain better: Imagine axis A, B and C. -Axis A is the slave. -Axis B is master of A, with a specific ratio. -Axis C is master of A, with a specific ratio. the result motion from B and C should be executed by A, proportionally in position and ratios from B and C. With standard softmotion libraries (MC_...) it is not possible (i couldn't) because it is allowed only one master with its ratio. I have made a similiar application in past, using MoveOverGear in order to synch gears before engage. Instead this time, i need to do a gear over gear application, using 2 different masters. The position have to be the sum of both masters (considering their ratios). Any clue about how to do it? Or were to find some FB that can do it?

Thanks for the reply, i am using codesys SP16 patch 5 as this is the version that is compatible with my IFM controller. i am accessing the lastusage variable from the VisuStructClientData structure through a pointer. when i log in it lists the time since last log in but does not continually count, it remains a static value which isnt useful. hopefully you can help. Hi pernockham, I think you should ask your device vendor. For some time I used one from an Italian company where they had made a library where you can manage the ip with a function (something like SetIPAddr...), it was based on connmann on linux. From my little experience is better to use the "default" way, so for me is to manage the config file on interfaces or use the ip addr utility

thank you for pointing me to this "bug"!! I haven't recognized, the bit is reset after the first alarm is gone. I use this only for warnings, so it's not a drama, but was not correct in the past. I solved it now simply stupid by counting up a variable every time an alarm appears and decreasing it if an alarm is gone. The "warning lamp" is activated by checking the counter is > 0 The nice side effect, i'm able to show the number of active alarms in the state line now.
