Hi all, I am experiencing a problem when trying to add a standard OPC UA Information Model to the Communication Manager. When I try to add the following standard information models to a new or existing project http://opcfoundation.org/UA (15.07.2020) http://opcfoundation.org/UA/DI (02.06.2020) CODESYS crashes every time during the process. Adding an OPC UA Server itself works without any problem. The crash only happens when adding the standard OPC UA Information Model. CODESYS version: CODESYS V3.5 SP20 Patch 4 (64 bit) Has anyone experienced the same issue or knows a possible workaround? Thank you in advance.

Hi to all, I've created a project using the File->New Project-> Standard Project command. Then I've add the object "Visualization Manager" and then tried to create a project archive (File->Project Archive->Save Archive), but it fails with the error "Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\CODESYS 3.5.22.10\CODESYS\Common\3hxi4iod.put' is denied". The idicated file don't exist. First time of use of the new Codesys versionù, I've reinstalled the developement software but nothing change. If I don't add the Visualization part, the archive is created, it's seems to be a problem with the HMI part. Any ideas? Thanks

Hello, I hv a problem. Couldn't solve this for 2 days now. So I'm quite new at CodeSys and I have to use the spi port x30 on the edgelogix rpi 1000. So what I have to do is just 'add device' at the SPI where I hv to pick the 'SPI master' after that I hv to change the parameters according to the edgelogix I did found in the spidev.h but nothing got updated so I 'add device' again where I pick the PiFace I/O Driver and I put my variables at the I/O Mapping, which i put the input startbit at the in part and led at the out part. I want to make the led blink according to my structured text code but somehow the hardware didn't connected with the CodeSys spi port. Nothing happens. Any idea what I have to do?

Hi everyone, I'm working on a CODESYS-based project running on a Weintek cMT2078X HMI with a built-in CODESYS runtime. The system communicates with multiple Modbus RTU slave devices, arranged in a cascade. The number of connected units can vary between 2 and 8, depending on the installation. Each slave has 17 Modbus channels, which are polled cyclically every 5 seconds. The issue is that when fewer devices are physically connected (e.g. only 3 out of 8), the Modbus master still attempts to communicate with all configured slaves. This leads to massive delays due to timeouts (currently 200ms per channel). For one disconnected device, that’s: 17 × 200ms = 3.4 seconds of delay per polling cycle, and this quickly multiplies with each additional missing slave. This behavior significantly degrades the system's performance and responsiveness. We attempted a workaround where we tried to trigger polling based on a variable in the PLC program, but this caused instability and even led to hardware hangs/freezes on the cMT2078X – likely due to clashes in how the Modbus polling engine and program logic interact at runtime. My main questions are: Is there a way in CODESYS to dynamically enable/disable Modbus slave devices at runtime, using a BOOL or INT variable (e.g. indicating number of active slaves)? Can devices or channels be conditionally polled or temporarily disabled without removing them from the device tree? Are there any best practices or examples for handling variable numbers of Modbus slaves in scalable systems like this? Would splitting communication across tasks or interfaces help reduce the impact of timeouts? Any advice, documentation references, or architectural suggestions would be extremely helpful. I'm looking for a robust way to dynamically scale slave polling without degrading system stability or performance. Thanks in advance!

Yep sure, though now that i think of it, its a pi 4. My bad. The whole ordeal was necessary to use the VGA666 adapter. That needs the old graphical system and GPIO directly on the CPU. Edit: Putty on the virtual development machine connects fine. But i did change the login/pw. The account is still a sudo'er so that should be all right. Edit2: Sorry i get a "Comment rate limit exceeded" from the forum. Then i'll add it as edit here. So i have tried the stock raspberry pi image on a different pi5 (truly 5 this time). Packages updated. Standard password. Same symptoms, no runtime deployed and long hang time. The last weeks when i move sliding the screen freeze but the comutation tag of the frame continue registration the movements. The program continue working at the background but the screen freeze. OK, I figured out that I can simply define all the sensors as 16 bytes IN/OUT, even if they are not all used. EDIT: The negative effect is that each bit is taken into account as an I/O for the license, even if not used.

For reference, it was just me being unfamiliar with EtherCAT in CoDeSys. Anyone with knowledge who would have opened the ScanResult screenshot would have identified that the preceding EK1100 was the device missing in the library. Bottom line - Do something else for a while and then get back at it with fresh eyes!

It's a path I had already considered, however, while it has always worked for me on inputs, it doesn't on outputs, because if I enable the option to update all IOs at every scan, the IO tasks overwrite each other. Hi These issues occured using a Raspberry Pi 4. I also repeated the experiment with codesys control for Windows, which results in much lower cycle times. With up to 3 ms, I still think they are fairly high given they should run at 2 ms and don't require complicated kinematics. The effect of higher cycle times for slower movements also prevails.

I also thought that if I had logic writing a value to this variable, then it would override the force anyway, since I thought that the force request was only applied at the beginning and end of the PLC scan.
