Really not clear what you are trying to do, but isn't a Struct enough? So add an object of the type DUT to the Application. Then create a structure TYPE ST_Sensor : STRUCT sName : STRING; uiNumber : UINT; END_STRUCT END_TYPE Then in you application add an instance of this Structure stSensor1 : ST_Sensor := (sName := 'my sensor', uiNumber := 1); or use it like this stSensor1.sName := 'my sensor';

Yes it is possible. I did it a lot of times using TeamViewer VPN. Unfortunately, TeamViewer VPN only works on Windows. If the remote PLC is a Codesys runtime running on Windows, you should be able to login directly using TeamViewer VPN if it is installed on the PC/PLC. If it is not Windows based, you can still do it but you need to have a Windows based PC acting as a gateway in the middle. In this case you need to enable IP Forwarding on the Windows remote PC (the gateway) and you need to setup the gateway IP address on the PLC to be the address of the Windows PC. Then you need to add a route on your local PC to point to the gateway PC for Codesys communication. I know it may not be detailed enough but I did not want to make a whole tutorial on how to do it. Bottom line, it is possible. I do it all the time.

Im wondering how Codesys is doing the mouse event capturing with their visualization button element? If you add such a button without configuring any input configuration event (like OnMouseDown) or button state variable and then click on the button, the button changes to the visual pressed state and back if you release the button (so they must react to an OnMouseDown event). But how? If I try to mimic this behavior with my custom button visualization element (like a basic rectangle) I need to use an input configuration event to change the color of the button (to make it look like the button was pressed on OnMouseDown event). When I try to add this button via a Frame-Element to my main visualization page I'm unable to use an input configuration event on the Frame-Element because the input configuration event on the button element won't be evaluated anymore (it seems like you can't stack input fields, e.g. invisible input elements, onto each other). Hence the button is not shown pressed anymore. How they do it?

I use the Linux ARM64SL (4.11) on a bullseye distro and when I want to update or install some package, I have the following reply : pi@NanoPi-R5C:~$ sudo apt upgrade Reading package lists... I don't see how to deal with this issue. is there a codemeter.deb somewhere ? thanks in advance for any help.

I do datastructures and algorithms in Codesys. For example a Struct of Person with thing's like IdNumber, Name, Age etc. as example. Now i do all kind of calculations, filters. So i have this pretty big Fixed Array with Structs. On this struct i want to do simple stuff you can do easily in C++/Python/Rust etc. For example i want to do this: AvererageAge := Average(Peoples.Age); Then it will return the average of all members ages. Or Sort struct on age etc. Or sort on alphabetical Name. Or use Lambda functions to filter/mutate out things like, filter out everybody above 18 years old. Or remove people who it's name start with "A". Currently i have to write my own custom function for example sorting on Age. And make a super specific function based on that particulare datastructure. Not really DRY code right? These are custom made bubble sort filters in a function. You pass in the Datastructure, and say what function you want. (This is an enum collection of sorting functions) And then the Array with Nodes of Structs gets ordered. Why can't we have Iterators and Lambda's and build in standard functions like regular languages? Also i use bubble sort because it's the easiest to implement because i can't get this to code DRY. Problem with ST (Even the new one with classes) that it's very limited for programming datastructures and algorithms. Yes you still not want dynamic memory and you need to choose the correct algorithm so you know the most extreme edge cases regarding the time it takes to execute the algorithms.(Real-time execution) How are other people dealing with this? Here for example saw some software using an adjusted ST language and having FOR EACH possibility: https://www.fernhillsoftware.com/help/iec-61131/structured-text/st-for-each.html You can then build your own custom Iterator functions. I wish the IEC 61131-3 standard would be more expressive and having more standard modern features, but still keep close to the fact of no dynamics memory and real-time systems.

Hello everyone, I'm using the IoT Library to implement the MQTT communication with my local broker server in order to publish and subscribe at specifics topics to share and consume information about my application. But, it seems that are occurring some memory leak problem in a "high" frequency (more than 10 Hz) subscribe process. I follow the same method as in IoT Lib exemples, and at first looks perfect but my PLC was rebooting frequently and when I check its memory usage that was increasing as fast as the subscribe massage was sent. I'm using a WEG PLC410 and a WEG PLC500, and this error occurred in both of them (including in CODESYS Control Win x64). The application sends to the system a message JSON with the float payload Ex. {"data" : 0.8500}, but this happens with a INT, or BOL as well. I have an IPC with 2 ethernet ports and 1 Wi-Fi. I'm using ModbusTCP with the ethernet port named "enp2s0" connected to my remote I/O. This works fine when testing with Python and also works with CODESYS, but CODESYS is only able to scan for the Linux SoftPLC when I turn off the "enp2s0" interface. In other words, I can't get online with the IDE if I want my ModbusTCP comms to run with CODESYS. I'm using a Linux SoftPLC that has the following entry in CODESYSControl.cfg, hoping that this will allow me to connect with "enp1s0" or "wlp3s0", and leave "enp2s0" for field comms, but this seems to only make the source IP of the ModbusTCP comms to be bound to "enp2s0". That last point is the case only if I don't restart the service, but if I do restart the service after changing the config file, the source IP for the ModbusTCP comms then becomes the one for "enp1s0", which is very confusing to me: [SysSocket] Adapter.0.Name="enp2s0" Adapter.0.EnableSetIpAndMask=1 On the device list, I only have "enp2s0" given as the ethernet device that has the ModbusTCP master & slave beneath it, shown in Screenshot 1. On the IPC, I can ping the ModbusTCP client (remote I/O) from "enp2s0", and I've attached a Wireshark capture of running ModbusTCP from the CODESYS runtime as Screenshot 2, 3 & 4 (again, I can't get online when this is running, I have to turn off "enp2s0" to connect even when it's idle and I don't have an active TCP session with my Python tests). Like I explained above, the source IP is "enp1s0", even though the ethernet device on the project is "enp2s0". I was lucky to catch the red message that showed the source IP that makes sense to me (the one for "enp2s0"), but for some reason that connection was reset and I never saw that packet again. I've also tried this with Auto-reconnect both enabled & disabled, for the ModbusTCP Master device. I also have to turn off "enp1s0" and then turn it on, just so that I can have the ModbusTCP comms running from "enp2s0" (which is not intuitive in any way to me, I'd love some help understanding that phenomenon as well) in the weird manner that I've described above. I would be very appreciative if someone can help me figure out this pickle. I'd love to just connect to CODESYS through my Wi-Fi interface and leave my ethernet ports for field comms.

ok, that's different than our issue then. We're using Schneider Electric M262 PLCs, and we've had it where certain web browsers cause the web server to only allow https connections, but it's not recoverable with a refresh. It usually requires a power cycle or even a full firmware flash. Your issue might have more to do with the timing. I don't know if it helps you, but we normally run our visu task at 200mS, with an update rate of 200mS. Seems to work. I went through this: https://faq.codesys.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=112525371 but it really seems like trial and error.

Hello, I am using the CODESYS IIoT Libraries SL MQTT Publish. Does this publish block only support publishing STRINGS as a readable format? I can publish ENUM, STRUCT, BOOL; however, MQTT Explorer will only display strings. When I use Wireshark, I can see that it is publishing something, but it looks to be publishing a serialized version which is a bunch of 0s or random text. If so, is there any way to deserialize this information back into a readable format? See pictures, where I have a BOOL TRUE that gets published as 001. Then see where I publish a STRUCT and it's an incomprehensible combination of 0s - only the string variable is displayed. Or, is it expected that you convert everything to a string before publishing? Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

Hello, We use a controller that comes with a bunch of predefined faults. These faults are considered active and historic. They are a 32 byte array but only take up 26 bytes of data. Because of this the historic faults start at address 26 instead of 31. Active faults variable take up address location 0 to 31. Historic faults variable take up address location 26 to 57. Because of this overlap I get an error that these overlap and it wont allow me to download to my controller. This isn't an issue in 3.5.5.4 but becomes an issue in newer version. Is there a way to turn this off? If I change the address location, the historic faults then become broken without doing some manipulation in the code. The software will build just fine. If support for a containerized CODESYS runtime with a license isn't feasible, then I've considered an alternative approach: I've purchased and activated a "CODESYS Control Basic S" license on my Windows notebook, where I already have the Codemeter Control Center installed. Upon activation, I can see the CODESYS license as active on my notebook. Subsequently, I followed the instructions provided in this link (https://faq.codesys.com/display/CDSFAQ/How+to%3A+Setup+a+Wibu+Network+Server+Access+for+Licenses) to configure the Wibu runtime in the CODESYS container to access my external license server hosted on my notebook by editing the CODESYSControl_User.cfg file accordingly. However, it's worth noting that I'm still receiving a response from the Licensing Manager indicating that the runtime is persistently searching for a dongle instead of recognizing the soft container. So how can I get my runtime licensed now? Any ideas?

I recognized that I have to start the two services "/etc/init.d/codemeter" and "/etc/init.d/codemeter-webadmin" in the docker container as well. If I do so, then the command "cmu -x" returns root@sensoredge-field-netfield-produktmanagment:/# cmu -x cmu - CodeMeter Universal Support Tool. Version 7.60c of 2023-Aug-09 (Build 5625) for Linux/ARMHF 64-Bit Copyright (C) 2007-2023 by WIBU-SYSTEMS AG. All rights reserved. So this time there is no indication any more that "Codemeter is not running". But still we are getting the error when using the license manager in CODESYS development system.

I can write: Add_EVT_OUT := DWORD#0; But is this the correct way? Is there any constant I could use instead, like "NULL"? Or this is totally wrong and to be avoided?

Hello, I have a PLC in a remote location. I can connect to it, but when I use a different PC, it asks me to re-download to the PLC - which will a) interrupt production and b) cause version issues. Codesys being open-source, if someone else has made changes, I need to be able to connect, upload the current project, compare it with mine and then decide what next. Every time I connect, it says Warning: An application 'Application' is currently in RUN mode on the PLC. As there is no matching compile information, this existing application needs to be replaced. Click 'Yes' to download the latest code or 'No' to abort. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, I have a XY system and use a CNC file to move it. Everything works OK, except for the following: when CNC execution starts, the system rushes at high speed to (X=0, Y=0) point, and only then goes to the first line of the CNC file. If one of the axes is near 0, the system jumps and immediately stops with an error. In the CNC file settings (screenshot attached) I specified low default values for speed/acceleration and a start position different from 0,0 - but all that is ignored. Any idea how to avoid that move to 0,0 ? Thanks.
