IEC 61499 is probably something more complex than what you have correctly said so the prospects are interesting but we cannot ignore that it came out almost 20 years ago and has not won many hearts. I started to explore this world with a PLCnext controller because I love these devices based on RT Linux and Codesys is somehow usable with them but I have made little progress and I feel like inside a nutshell in the middle of the sea ;-) Gary's voluminous and precious book is always on my desk...

Hi @eschwellinger, I have been trying out v1.0 of the new ladder and have a few questions. I have warnings Expression or part of it has no effect I can't get rid of them, what do they exactly mean? Using the ST_Block, is there a way when online to open the ST_Block and view the running code? Thanks!

Die Datei wird im Programmlauf mehrfach geöffnet und Daten hinein geschrieben. Ich will hier die Funktion File.MODE.MAPPENDPLUS benutzen, das funktioniert aber nicht. fopen.xDone bleibt false. Using SDO, I can read the EtherCAT mappings and offsets from various registers like 0x1c12, 0x1c13, etc. When I obtain registers mapped in the PDOs and various offsets, I could technically access directly to the statusword, controlword, etc., if they are mapped. I have noticed that on IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave_Diag I can find pointers to the input and output buffers. However, although the input buffer can be easily read by referring to what has been obtained from the SDOs, it is not possible to write to the output buffer, as it is overwritten in each cycle by the data from the IOMapping task. Is there a way, knowing an instance of IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave_Diag, to obtain the pointer to the first data in the IOMapping? The offsets are identical to those of the PDOs, but obviously the data is a copy. For me, the cleanest thing would be to access the pointers on IOMapping, for DS402a devices to retrieve the key data and point them to internal references. I need to know this as, having developed our own motion library, I would like to simplify the initial setup by eliminating unnecessary and nonsensical mappings that can lead users to unnecessary errors. In the current version that we have been using for years, we have to map everything manually. I would like to pass only the slave reference to the FB_init constructors and eliminate the mapping.

Hello, I am extremely new to using codesys. I have an IFM CR1102 HMI with physical buttons on the right side. I need to have these buttons toggle which visualization is active. I currently have ladder logic for when the button is pressed just need the action side for setting the active visualization. Any help is appreciated.

Hello, I encountered similar problems, and it appears they were linked to certain add-ons. Resolving this issue turned out to be quite complex. However, we managed to find a solution by downgrading both the "CODESYS Communication" and "CODESYS Recipes" components via the CODESYS Installer, accessible under the "Tools" section.

see here: Visualization Support | V 4.3.1.0 will be released on 14.02.2024 https://de.codesys.com/das-system/releases-updates-lifecycle/release-plan-roadmap.html so you need to update by CODESYS Installer to that version as soon it is available.

to modify and change the color of this icons from symbols lib I placed it in a visu. After download to the device, I uploaded the SVG files and saved it local. Now I was able to modify them with inkscape and import it to my own imagepool in the project :-)

the magic option is named "Use CurrentVisu variable" activate this option in the Visualization Manager an have a look: https://help.codesys.com/webapp/_visu_obj_manager;product=core_visualization;version=3.5.14.0 if your button is pressed, "feed" the string varable VisuElems.CurrentVisu := 'visu1'; with the correct name of the depending visu. alternative: place a frame element at a empty main visu, konfigure all visus to be shown by this frame. With setting the switching variable of the frame to the index value of the depending visu, it will switch to it. Advantage: the visu names are not hardcoded as string in the ladder lodgic. Good luck! Hint: If you have multiple VisuClients(Target, WebVisu,...) all will show the same visu. Independent switching is much more difficult, but there is a example from codesys.

Hey thank you for the reply dkugler. I am sorry if this seems like a stupid question. I have the use current visuvariable checkbox enabled. I can see the string names of all my visualizations. I am trying to use ladder logic to be the anser to the button press using "VisuElems.CurrentVisu := 'MainScreen';. This returns an error. Any idea what I am doing wrong or could you point me in the right direction for fixing this. Thanks,
