Hey there, I am currently trying to find a good solution for the communication between CODESYS Control on Raspberry Pi and "the rest of the world", i. e. the things apart from CODESYS on my linux. My first approach was to use the c-integration. So I created a lib, defined extern fbs, compiled the code on my Pi using the SDK and put the .so into my lib project. When I try to log into the Pi and load the program, I get the error message which you can see in the attached picture. "Die dynamischen Module der C-Integration konnten nicht auf das Laufzeitsystem geladen werden" is german and means roughly "the modules from the c-integration could not be loaded onto the runtime system." Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? I will have a look at the unix domain socket thing next, as I am still in the process of finding the best solution for the communication.

Hi everyone, I'm currently working on a project involving the control of 5 VFDs via Modbus RTU, this time using the WAGO 750-8212 CPU. So far, I've managed to make progress, but I've encountered an issue. While I can successfully read and write to all the registers I need, I consistently encounter a "Response CRC Fail" error when attempting to write the value 1151 to the STW register at address 40100. I'm able to set the frequency via register 40101 and adjust all other parameters using different registers. Setting STW to 1150 results in the drive ready boolean from the ZSW-bit being received instantly. However, the moment I attempt to send 1151 to register 40100, I immediately receive the "Response CRC Fail" error for all channels. I've also attempted to use combined control, employing Modbus for frequency control and starting from a digital input. Everything seems to function properly until I send the start command to the VFD. Interestingly, I consistently encounter the same error the moment I send the start command, regardless of whether I use register 40006 (high) or 40100 (1151). Could someone please assist me in resolving this issue?

Hello folks, my problem is a bit bigger for just one question. So let's start with the easiest. But first, my system setup: It's a WAGO 750-8212 PFC with some I/O-modules. I try to communicate with the controlsystem over SNMP using the IIoT library from codesys. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/de/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_iot_snmp_service.html Is there some expirience with this kind of communication? It's just about transfering some data from PFC to network and setting some analogsettings from network to the PFC. So my easiest question: Do I ever need the SNMP_Agent or can I use the SET / GET function as standalone, without the agent? If i loose the network and the opcua data source suddenly looses connection with the server, i get an exception and my application stops working. I am using the latest version of the communication add v4.5.2.0 Is this a known issue? This makes the datasource unusable because it is inevitable that we will loose connectivity at some point, and the datasource crashing everything due to that seems to be a deal breaker. I can provide more details is someone from codesys is reading this. You can recreate is by just shutting off the Opc server after the codesys data source is connected and reading data from it. The codesys app does not crash everytime and sometimes it is able to reconnect without crashing, so you may have to try this a few times to see the exception. Best regards

Hi, Is there a way to read the homed status from the EtherCAT drive directly? I am currently flagging the homed status on the succesful completion of the MC_Home function block, but I have had false triggers where the drive didn't actually execute the homing procedure but the MC_Home FB is marked as complete without error. I looked at other MC/SMC function blocks but the closest I can find is the "Homing" bit from MC_ReadStatus FB, but this doesn't show if the drive is succesfully homed, only that it's homing. Any guidance is welcome. Thanks!

I can connect with UaExpert but I cannot see my Application or browse my values. What is missing?

Hi, I don't know if I'm in the right place or if it's even possible... I'm looking for a way to address a Profinet device with Record Read and Write from my own PC. I actually only need very few commands to configure our device. This means setting the MAC address and a serial number. We would like to do this from a C# program. Now we are looking for a library or something similar. Since you can do it from Codesys, I thought there might be a DLL or something similar that you could use for this. As I said, we don't want real-time queries of the cyclic data but only record read/write. Does anyone have any helpful hint? Thanks in advance

Regarding to your application: When clicking in the web visualization, the boolean variable will be tapped for both buttons. The LED in the web visualization lights up as long as the variable is true The used variables should come from the GVL, ad/or thePLC_Prg. We see no difference or problem in both projects: You have created a visuelement Push button a a tapper, that is supposed to control the variable in this way as expected. This is also reflected (switching Bool from false to true) in the program code, as well as in the (GVL declared) variables. Wherever the misunderstanding comes from: no, this is not memory or license related. Our best guess: it is probably more of an applicative/conceptual implementation.

Good morning @eschwellinger, After some research I found out that the problem is the preinstalled CodeMeter on Raspberry Pi. As I mentioned the CodeMeter was installed on the Raspberry because I use a license from other vendor that needs the CodeMeter to be installed. The problem is that when I uninstall the CodeMeter from Raspberry I am able to detect the dongle from CODESYS and everything works as it should be but now the other product can not detect its own license. When I reinstall the CodeMeter I am back to the initial problem. Is there a way to overcome this conflict through CODESYS?

Hello, one of the projects I work on is about a racetrack collator with two independent belts on it - two different servo motors. Both motors share the same mechanical frame and there is a train on a belt that collects items from the input conveyor. The way the motion is performed is the following - there is a virutal master axis and both real axis are synchronised with different cam motion profiles. The problem is when an STO is triggered on any of the slave axis, the synchronization process starts from position 0 of the slaves. How can I force the slaves to retain their current position until the master passes their position? Then the slaves should catch up with the master according to the profile, the slaves should not start synchronization from 0 position. Best Regards Konstantin Kolev

Hey Guys :) I have the following Problem using Modbus via Codesys: I'm trying to implement a Modbus Device into my codesys project. The device is a Router from Teltonika (RUT956) and it can communicate via Modbus. Currently I'm trying to implement it into my codesys prject as a slave and I'm using my windows computer as master. As it is not a codesys device (the codesys application is not uploaded to device as it has its own software) I'm having problems requesting and reading registers from the router. I've set up my windows computer as Master and implemented the router as slave. When I go online on my master device it sais that it has established a connection to the slave (router)(So I'm thinking this could work as there is a connection?). The goal is to read the GPS (latitude and longitude) data and on the homepage of teltonika you can find the register address and number of registers (adress 143 for latitude and 145 for longitude; both have a number of two registers). I've found tutorials how to read specific registers via their register address with other modbus programs (like modbus-cli), but as my entire project is established in codesys I was hoping to read these specific registers via codesys so that I can show the GPS data on my dashboard. I've tried establishing slave channels but that hasn't been working. I tried read input register channels of the length 4 but it's not possible to define specific register addresses to read via codesys so that didn't work (I jsut get a slaves device failure) and I've also tried establishing 516 (total number of registers the router sends I think?) read inputregister channels but that has the samle failure... So i guess the problem I'm having is establishing slave channels to read these specific registers. Does anyone know how to tackle this problem and has maybe had the same problem? Or maybe someone knows a workaround? I'm quite new to codesys so maybe I'm also lacking expertise...

After some more digging I realized that I get an error on the PLC Logger saying PersistenceChannel: 150 (invalid type in data: SimpleLibrary). Hello, For my program I need an extended pulse timer, which can be referred to as a retriggerable pulse timer. Where every rising edge of the input resets the elapsed time zero, extending the lenght of the output pulse. The Codesys pulse timer (TP) is a one-shot timer and only resets the elapsed time with the falling edge of the input. There is also a pulse timer (LTP) in codesys, but in my simulation it was also functioning as a one-shot even though the description sounds like LTP should be retriggerable. I have uploaded some timing plots from another PLC program for reference. I am looking for a timer equivalent to the "TEP" diagram. Is there an Extended Pulse Timer in Codesys? Maybe there is a way to manipulate the input so it resets the elapsed time outside the function block?

As I wrote before on the title, I have difficulties to connect to see webvisu from localhost. The story: while waiting for the plc+hmi to arrive, I'm preparing the software, mainly the visual parts trough the control Win3 x64 (same version as the ide 3.5.20.10). The problem is that I can't see the webvisu with the installed webbrowser. I don't know if this is a problem, but I changed the port to 9001 (randomly "free") because 80, 8000, 8080, 8088, 3000 are all occupied by other projects (all on the Apache server). Is there something wrong with the config file? This is the url: localhost:9001/webvisu_app.htm and here the config file part "CmpWebServer". Busy testing a solution to use Canbus Slave to replace a physical device and convert to Ethercat device but keep the Canbus Master in place. Master needs to Read SDO object 5FA2. In the Master PLC if i send the SDO with 8 bytes in message IE: 60B 40 A2 5F 00 00 00 00 00 i get my expected 58B 43 A2 5F 00 00 68 36 02 containing data back. Problem is if we issue a 4 byte command can send 60B 40 A2 5F. Surely the canbus slave should respond with a 58B 43 A2 5F 00 00 68 36 02 but it comes back as 80 A2 5F 00 00 00 00 08 - meaning this OBJECT does not exist. Is there a setting in the canbus slave driver for Canbus to allow the 4 byte command to read the SDO OBJECTS ?

I’m encountering an issue when downloading CSV files via the WebVisu button input config -> file-transfer option: • Custom directory: /plcdata/csv_logs/filename.csv o Error: Error 4 – Error during file transfer • Sandbox directory: /var/opt/codesys/PlcLogic/plcdata/csv_logs/filename.csv o Result: Download succeeds without error. Actions taken so far: 1. Added /plcdata/csv_logs to codesyscontrol.cfg (see attached). 2. Enabled file-transfer services in codesyscontrol_user.cfg (see attached). 3. Confirmed that the PLC writes CSV files correctly to /plcdata/csv_logs/. Despite these settings, WebVisu still returns Error when accessing the custom path 1. Using the placeholder file path '$$CSVLOGS$$/filename.csv' and it returns Error 6. 2. Using the literal path /plcdata/csv_logs/filename.csv and it returns Error 4 Could someone please help me determine what additional configuration or troubleshooting steps are required to serve files from /plcdata/csv_logs/? Please find screenshots attached for better understanding and I have also attached the config files

In the VPLC configuration settings there is an entry for the IP address of the license server. In this setting fill in the IP address of your device (host IP address). Then when the virtual PLC starts up, it will get the license from the license container on the host. You can do this for all VPLC's running on your device. The VPLC will always take the smallest license which fits the required license. So if you have 2 licenses for VPLC's with small and large applications, then this will work fine if you start up one VPLC which requires the small license and the other which requires the large license. PS, personally I find it much easier, especially for testing and experimenting, to activate the licenses on a CODESYS (USB) key. This is easy to activate (on your development PC) and easier to move to another device. Addtionally you don't loose the license when you need to install a completely new image on the device.

Hey guys, I am trying to write a JSON. First time after login in PLC after download everthing works. But when I want to change values during runtime and try to recreate the JSON nothing happens. When forcing the xStart as an impulse i want to recreate it and see 2 as Key3 instead of 1 from the first run. Any Idea how to make this work? Hi, I was hoping I could send the two files "application.app" and "application.crc" directly to the directory "/home/codesys/PlcLogic/Application" instead of logging into the device with codesys, downloading the program to the controller and then do the "create boot application", so it will reboot with the correct program running. I think i also need to edit the file "eRUNTIME.cfg" located in the "/home/codesys/ folder, because when I create the boot application from the codesys IDE, these lines are added to the file: [CmpApp] Application.1 = Application [SysFileMap] /home/codesys/PlcLogic/Application/Application.app=0x212520, 0x2DBC747E, 2DBC747E.app I think the "eRUNTIME.cfg" file is the same as CODESYSControl.cfg I also dont know the purpose of the hexadecimal numbers etc. that is generated. When I tried to replicate what codesys was doing, I placed the same files in the same folder as when codesys generated the boot file. And also added the lines in the eRUNTIME.cfg file: [CmpApp] Application.1 = Application [SysFileMap] /home/codesys/PlcLogic/Application/Application.app The controller did not boot up with any program, so my method did not work at all. I guess these lines tells the controller to run an application and where to find it? Could any of you help me with the best way to get the compiled program to the controller without using codesys or wago-software?

Hello, I'm using Codesys V3.5 SP18 Patch 4. In the ElementCollectionExample Project from Codesys, I test the SimpleQueueExample in a Control Win V3 x64 environment. I try to add a string of 95 characters length to a queue. The default length of strings is defined as 80 characters. In the initialization of a string variable, it is possible to increase the length by the definition of e.g. STRING(1000). But when I write the string defined like this to the queue, only 80 characters are written to it and the rest is missing. I think the default length is still set in the queue definition, so it is necessary to change this, isn't it? Is there any option to increase the default length of strings in the queue? Noob alert! I’m just getting my feet wet with CODESYS. I have a “Hello World” project in the CODESYS IDE. I’m using the Win SoftPLC on the same computer. I’ve added a Communication Manager under the Application node. Under that is “OPC UA Server -> IEC Symbol Publishing 01”. I also added “OPC_UA_Symbols -> Information Model”. I’m not sure I need the second thing. I was grasping at straws. I also set up several dummy symbols in the IEC Symbol Publishing 01 node. In my C# application, I am trying to get an instance of EndpointDescription from CoreClientUtils.SelectEndpoint(“opc.tcp://localhost:1217/Gateway-1”, useSecurity: false, 15000). I wasn’t sure about the “Gateway-1”. I found that in the CODESYS IDE under the project -> Communication Settings. When I execute the previous method call in C#, I get: “BadSecureChannelClosed”. I have no idea what that means. Any pointers to documentation are welcome.
