I've seen that you can use cmds like below to run SA from scripts. system.commands["staticanalysis", "run"].execute() But I would like to run different SA configuration files to create separate logs and cant find anywhere in the scripting engine if this is supported. This stems from if I turn on everything, SA stops reporting issues in the message log when the list gets over 600ish issues. Once we have done an initial clean up of code this wont be an issue, but I'm trying to get a baseline to track improvement.

Is there a way to access the variable in the called dialog? Example: Text Field element with PLC_PRG.myVar as Text variable. OnMouseClick configured to write variable with keypad pop-up. OnValueChanged configured to Execute ST RND(PLC_PRG.myVar,2); Rather than change myVar with each copy of this Text Field, is there a way to access whatever the configured text variable is? Generally try to stay away from ST in visu, but was curious regardless.

Thanks for your reply. I belive it is contiguous, I'm writing to adress 0 to 4. Or, do you mean something else? Well, something is happening. If I on the client set adress 1,2,3 to true, only 1 is set to true on the server side. On the client side, the data is array of word. But on the server side, the coils are array of bool. Holding register is array of word on server side. Can this be a problem? Attached screenshot of how it looks at the server side.

Hello all, im working on a project that requires me to convert an old automation direct DirectSoft PLC d2-250-1. One of the problems im encountering is that all of the comments are attached to members of the different addresses. When i convert the addresses (1777 "C" registers, 777 X registers, and 20,0000 V registers) im running into difficulties keeping the inputs/outputs correct since they are missing documentation. Is there a good way to retain the comments of the indexes in the array? Secondly, initially i was declaring the "C" and "V" addresses individually and this worked to retain the comments as to which register did what, however i ran into a problem when one rung reset (or set to 0) approximately 600 C Addresses. Since each tag is separately declared this proved to be nearly impossible without a literal wall of code that attempted to crash the program. So i converted all of the registers (C,X,Y,V) into separate structs, declared them as arrays and pointed all of the original call outs in the program to the newly defined structs. However i have now lost comments and the program is very hard to follow. Thanks for any help with this issue.

Yes it is possible. I did it a lot of times using TeamViewer VPN. Unfortunately, TeamViewer VPN only works on Windows. If the remote PLC is a Codesys runtime running on Windows, you should be able to login directly using TeamViewer VPN if it is installed on the PC/PLC. If it is not Windows based, you can still do it but you need to have a Windows based PC acting as a gateway in the middle. In this case you need to enable IP Forwarding on the Windows remote PC (the gateway) and you need to setup the gateway IP address on the PLC to be the address of the Windows PC. Then you need to add a route on your local PC to point to the gateway PC for Codesys communication. I know it may not be detailed enough but I did not want to make a whole tutorial on how to do it. Bottom line, it is possible. I do it all the time.

Hi everyone, I'm currently working on a project involving the control of 5 VFDs via Modbus RTU, this time using the WAGO 750-8212 CPU. So far, I've managed to make progress, but I've encountered an issue. While I can successfully read and write to all the registers I need, I consistently encounter a "Response CRC Fail" error when attempting to write the value 1151 to the STW register at address 40100. I'm able to set the frequency via register 40101 and adjust all other parameters using different registers. Setting STW to 1150 results in the drive ready boolean from the ZSW-bit being received instantly. However, the moment I attempt to send 1151 to register 40100, I immediately receive the "Response CRC Fail" error for all channels. I've also attempted to use combined control, employing Modbus for frequency control and starting from a digital input. Everything seems to function properly until I send the start command to the VFD. Interestingly, I consistently encounter the same error the moment I send the start command, regardless of whether I use register 40006 (high) or 40100 (1151). Could someone please assist me in resolving this issue?

I am trying to create an icon on an overview screen that depicts if an alarm group has active alarms, active acknowledged alarms, or inactive unacknowledged alarms (waiting for confirmation). I've attempted to set up Notification Actions in the Alarm Class to set variables based on state changes but have been unable to find a clean and effective way to do this. Because an action on any alarm will trigger the variable to be set as instructed, I'm struggling to find a way to configure it for what I need (ie if two alarms activate, then one deactivates, the variable for indicating an alarm is active would be cleared after the single deactivation). I've been pointed toward the Alarm Manager example project but I'm finding it too complicated to understand how to implement it in my own project. Has anyone come up with another good way to indicate the states of alarms or a simpler usage of the Alarm Manager functions?

I want to configure each of them by define : - Modbus TCP Slave Configuration : Name, IPAddress, port - Channels - Mapping I can't afford to configure manually and I need to find automatic way What possibilities does the Codesys offer? 1. I know it possible to use python script to create Modbus TCP Master and Slave. But I don't find anyway to create Channels and Mapping through the API 2. I 've tested to set mapping with file.csv on a Modbus Tcp Slave, but no way to import channels definition from file 3. I 've tried to use PLCOpenXml file. For example I 've create a project with an Ethernet device. I've exported it in PlcOpenXml file. After delete the Ethernet device, I've imported the PlcOpenXml file without success. I've tried the same by creating Modbus TCP Slave. Could you help me to find to good way ? Thanks

Hello, I'm relatively new to PLC programming. I am trying to creat a ramp down function, I have an example here of what I am using. I can get the function to work, the issue is that the OUT (variable3) value is being held by the FB so after I use it once it no longer works. In this example i set variable3 to 100 and the rest is as seen, over the course of a minute it ramped down to 10 (as desired). But when I deenergize TEST_START, set variable3 back to 100, and then re-energize TEST_START it immediately jumps back to the previously held value 10. The reset on this block just pauses the function and holds the last OUT. In my case I will need the function to start OUT at a set value, ramp down to the IN (variable2) value, and then accept a new OUT value to ramp down next time the block is energized. Hopefully this made sense, if anyone has any advice that would be awesome!

Hi I am trying to use STRUCT to parse commands from Modbus/TCP, Modbus client will fill the bytes related to a specific command (type, parameters), then PLC (Codesys) will access the command parameters. A STRUCT will simplify a lot the process of parsing the data, so I don't need to parse byte per byte, address will be mapped to a struct and I can use it for parsing the data. From what I understood, the compiler does not allow me to specify the location of the struct for a %MW register. VAR_COMMAND AT %MW1002: structGenericModbusCommand; This will throw: Bad declaration, use '%ML' for 'structGenericModbusCommand' variable But If I change it to %ML, when you go online you see that it is actually allocating the struct in another memory address. When we go online, on GVL we can see: VAR_COMMAND. structGenericModbusCommand %ML1002 commandType COMMANDTYPE %MB8016 ... %MB8020 I am not specifying a pointer or a reference it is a struct type, why is it mapping to a %MW location (random one). How can I control where it is mapping to? I need a consistent way to map STRUCT to specific modbus address. Is it possible? My controller, which is a Linux PC, has got two network cards eth0 and eth1 I whant to use the card with name "eth0" as a server for OPCUA and keep the "eth1" free for other stuffs. Is it possible ? Hi, I am quite new to Codesys and I try to do a Profinet connection to an Siemens PLC (315-2DP) with CP343-1 Lean Modul. I already configured the Siemens PLC, exported the GSDML. Then I added a new project in Codesys, added following moduls: - Ethernet - PN_Controller - Imported Profinet Device via GSDML importer When I start the programm everything looks fine but I always get the message "Stopped Profinet" and no data is available This is only for a small test. Therefore I start to do that on a Windows 10 with Development System. Later I will try to realize this on Raspberry. Ethernet Adapter is configured (192.168.1.1 / 24) Firewall deactivated WinPCap is installed S7-Station seems to be found ('fuadazenzitest') Can please somebody help me?

In my projet I use Softmotion. There are several Softmotion axis (type SM_Drive_Virtual). In the Global Variable List I have an array of pointers to the adress of the Axis. Hi everyone, so a little update to this, I've come back to this project in the new year, and got it working. Yeah!, However, now with the new licensing setup, I need a new SoftMotion license, but it doesn't seem to be compatible with the previous Raspberry Pi SL license. Has anyone had any luck with Raspberry Pi and SoftMotion_Lite? Specifically the licensing of such? My customers new installation needs to be rebooted every 30min which is causing headaches! Another option is to not use the SoftMotion function blocks, and control the EtherCat amplifier directly, but I'm not sure how to do so. Does anyone have a specific example project of how to control a servo without the use of the SoftMotion function blocks? Thanks everyone for any assistance rendered. It's very much appreciated! Toby

i have a problem with Profinet on my project. I'm using Codesys RTE 3.5.19.50. When i download program to controller the ethernet is ok, PN_Controller is ok but every device i'm trying to connect is red with error "DCP no RealStationName". When i'm trying to Scan for Devices on PN_Controller there are no devices found. I have installed Codesys driver CmpEt1000Drv to my network adapter (i'm sure it is right intel pro 1000 model). I have noticed that when i installed codesys driver i'm no longer able to ping this network adapter (i can ping it when intel driver is installed). On my previous projects with runetimes i can ping it even with codesys driver installed. I have also tried to do downgrade of everything to version 3.5.19.20 and it not helped.

Hello, I'm working on a project which includes Panel-PC which communicates with a PLC through Modbus TCP/IP. On the PLC I have a CODESYS code which has Modbus slave objects. The Modbus slave objects have to have manually set IP address in order for them to work properly and the Ip address has to be the PC-Panels's IP. This project is going to a customer and they're using their own IP address realm. So, my question is that is it possible to configure these slaves in some other way, so that the customer doesn't need to modify the CODESYS project? I was thinking that would it be possible to set the IP address of these slaves from external source?

Dear Sir, We are writing to seek guidance regarding our current situation with the Opto 22 Groov EPIC PR1 PLC system. Over the past year, we have successfully downloaded and implemented logic using Codesys, and the PLC has been operational without issues. However, we now require minor modifications to the logic. Despite attempting to upload the modified logic, we are unable to see the "online change" option, prompting us to consider a direct logic download. Our concern is that during this process, certain digital outputs or analog outputs might momentarily disrupt operations, which is unacceptable given the system's continuous 24x7 operation. We have explored online changes in other PLC systems, but due to the absence of the last downloaded backup, we are unable to proceed confidently.

The simplest way to do this would be to add a bus coupler dedicated to the expansion IO. The EtherCAT network does not fault when modules connected to the expander are not present. In the image below, nothing below the red line is present in the network - with the network working correctly. In your "base" project, simply include all of the possible modules, and then plug them in as you add pumps to the system. I would also highly recommend against the use of direct addressing. There are other methods to accomplish this, including using the "Optional" checkbox for modules and explicitly addressing them. Hello all, Encountered an issue with my zero which seems to have happened after the 4.11 update. It now runs in demo mode (2hr) and I am trying to see what the appropriate steps are prior to contacting codesys directly. Background: I recently did a fresh install of w11 on my pc, so it seems "c:\ProgramData\CODESYS\Licenses\" only has information related to my pi5, which I licensed just this past Friday. I have all my license documentation about my rpi zero as far as the emails received, but when I try to claim using the ticket number it says its already been used, or something to that effect, which it was. Currently trying to perform device license reader, which is taking some time.

Hi A SINT is a short (signed) integer. It is already only 1 byte - so you should have no problem casting it to a byte like so: bMyByte := TO_BYTE(sintMyShortInt); If you have a regular INT you want to put in 2 bytes - there are a lot of ways you can do this. A Union is certainly one of them. You could have a union with 2 memebers: An array of 2 bytes as one member, and an integer value as another member. Another way would be to look at MEMCPY to put the value into your CAN-message. .. or create a function to take your input value as input, and giving you 2 individual bytes as output. Hi, I have a XY system and use a CNC file to move it. Everything works OK, except for the following: when CNC execution starts, the system rushes at high speed to (X=0, Y=0) point, and only then goes to the first line of the CNC file. If one of the axes is near 0, the system jumps and immediately stops with an error. In the CNC file settings (screenshot attached) I specified low default values for speed/acceleration and a start position different from 0,0 - but all that is ignored. Any idea how to avoid that move to 0,0 ? Thanks.
