Hello, what you are seeing is not strange behavior. The problem is that everyting is happening in the same program cycle. After the variable Stepnumber is changed from 10 to 20 for example then you want the program to wait with the next EQ until the next program cycle. Else every EQ will be be true because in every line the variable Stepnumber is increased. When the program arrives (still in the same cycle) at the line with the timer, the Stepnumber has been increased to 30 in the meantime and the timer will allway be ON because even though the variable is written to 10 in this line in the next cycle it starts with 10 and will be 30 again before reaching the timer in line 8. Not very good at explaining stuff but i hope you get the problem. See screenshot below for an example of one way you could solve this...

Hi, I'm using codesys v3.5 sp21 software. I have downloaded the sample opc ua client project from https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_uacapi_example.html and i tested connecting to "prosys opc ua simulation server". Through Anonymous connection it is connecting to server and can read data. Later tried to connect using username and password. First got a SECURITY_CHECKS_FAILED error, trusted the client certificate in the server and this issue resolved. Next got an INVALID_CERTIFICATE error, trusted the server certificate in the client and this issue resolved. After these two error it is not establishing the connection and not giving any error messages. I am using the visualization element "Cartesian XY Chart" in a visualization template within a library to display recorded position values. I managed to configure the chart as desired and it displays the values like it should. A problem occurs when clicking on the chart to move the cursor, zoom or pan. Upon clicking the visualization element for the first time, the task in which the visualization is run spikes to a cycle time of around 5'000 to 15'000 ms (the configured cycle time is 100 ms). Sometimes this even completely crashes the web-visualization. After this very long cycle, the visu task normalizes again and the chart can be interacted with as usual. Another spike in cycle time occurs once the visualization is switched to a frame that does not contain the chart. I did reduce the data array to only a few values and tried changing the update behaviour of the chart, but it did not change the problems I am facing. Did anyone experience a similar issue or even has a solution for this?

I'm going through the process of updating the CODESYS Project a machine to 3.5 SP21 (old version was 3.5 SP20). One function that stopped working when upgrading was SysProcessCreate. I need to run a .exe file that is located in C:\Program Files\MQTTStream. Some initial searching suggested that there are new security rules that prevent the SoftPLC from reading/writing files to outside of its Device folder (located here - C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\24FD6770) Relocating files helped fix my JSON file reader/writer functions (which were failing previously), but not the case for SysProcessCreate. I've even attempted to just run window's cmd.exe and with: pszCommandLine = 'cd /d C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\24FD6770\PlcLogic\MQTTStream & sift-proxy.exe --grpc_uri="https://grpc-api.siftstack.com" --api_key="xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" mqtt-client --broker_ip=10.0.10.101 --broker_port=1883 --config_file="mqtt_telemetry_config.json" --username Plantd --password 1234 --stream_metrics --storage_path="sift-proxy-logs"' I have not been able to find a lot of documentation on this, and I suspect the new update may have created a bug for SysProcessCreate. Hello, In our workshop we have a Lenze i950 servo drive that has an EtherCAT bus and CiA402 compatibility. The WAGO is PFC200 750-8212 and as per documentation it has built-in license for SoftMotion Light functionality. It is not capable of supporting the full SoftMotion functionality like gearing and synchronizing. I added the EtherCAT esi files from Lenze and the EtherCAT master does see the drive, then I added a SoftMotion Light Axis object. The problem is that I can only energize the axis, I cannot execute any other commands. I set the positive and negative torque limits from the PDOs to 200% and when I try to move the axis by force it does not move back to its original position. I use the SML function blocks from the PLCOpen library and the error from the function blocks is that the op mode cannot be changed. Then I tried using a standard SoftMotion axis object and everything works fine, except the MC_Home function block. The axis moves back to its position when forced out of it. I follow this guide from Lenze - Lenze i950 CODESYS V3 What could cause this issue with the SoftMotion Light axis object? Best Regards Konstantin Kolev

In order to use SoftMotion Light, a servo drive needs to support CiA 402 operating modes: Profile Position (PP), Profile Velocity (PV) and Homing Mode (HM). https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20SoftMotion%20Light/_sm_light_requirements.html According to the Lenze i950 documentation you linked in your post, none of these modes are supported. Not even Homing Mode which explains why MC_Home does not work even with the full SoftMotion. The full SoftMotion uses Cyclic Synchronous Position Mode (CSP) but still uses Homing Mode (HM) when using MC_Home. You can monitor PDO 0x6060 (Mode of Operation). When using SoftMotion Light you will see it set to 1 (PP) for a MC_MoveAbsolute_SML and MC_MoveRelative_SML and to 3 (PV) for MC_MoveVelocity_SML and to 6 (HM) for MC_Home_SML. When using the SoftMotion instructions, it will pretty much always be set to 8 (CSP) except when using MC_Home, then it will be set to 6 (HM).

Hello, I have written a function block that uses a generic constant for the upper bound of an array. I pinpointed down 4 possible causes for this compiler error: Bare/empty statements (;) standing alone inside an IF/CASE branch — just removed two instances. The optimizer that tries to inline/replace expression statements may choke when a statement has no actual assignment to extract. A VAR_IN_OUT parameter used directly as a FOR loop's own control variable (FOR X := X TO Y DO) General deep-nesting complexity — every one of my decode routines has the same shape (IF busy THEN ... FOR loop containing nested CASE/IF chains ... END_IF), and the crash trace consistently shows for loop → sequence → ifst → sequence → ifst → sequence regardless of the code change. This raises the possibility that it's not one specific statement but a structural depth/complexity limit in SP22.x's compiler optimizer — which would mean no small code change fixes the issue. Only restructuring to reduce nesting depth, or downgrading the compiler will. Something entirely outside my library files — which cannot not ruled out since the exact stack trace was triggered by a Visualization object, in a totally different codebase. This means the same crash signature can come from unrelated causes. IMHO cause 3 seems the most probable one..

How are the servo drives controlled? EtherCAT, step/dir pulses, other? CANOpen, 1 Mb/s, bus load 35%, cycle time 2ms. Another thought is that - if it's step/dir pulse based control - the pulses from the PLC to the drive are getting missed/lost at high frequencies? If that's the case then there would be multiple troubleshooting steps/corrections that could be investigated. Here, it seems to me that we are getting completely off track with the observed problem. You could try to create a simplified program I had already written this elsewhere. The program before being brought into machines was exhaustively tested in SW emulation and the problem did not occur. However, in emulation I was interested in checking other aspects of the process, not this specific one which is for real a correction made necessary after the fact. The part of the program that does this correction with the function mentioned in the topic, came up from its origins, but I didn't know or didn't think it was really useful. A scruple that later turned out to be necessary. However, for now I do not think I will spend any more time on this verification, already lacking any to do my normal. I remain amazed, however, that a function intended to correct the axis position with the motor in motion and that it should not interfere with this, in fact instead changes behavior as the motor speed changes. Mah! When you manually control the motor directly from the servo drive software at the speeds you are calling for, does it move precisely to the target position? The drive and motor have been working fine for about 10 years. In replacing the machine control system, I opted for CoDeSys where before there was something else. But this is not the subject of the problem. What I need to resolve is the fact that a clutch specially placed at a certain point can slip and, therefore, I have the undeniable need to phase the 'prime mover' to the mechanical position of the machine, detected by a cam for each turn, in order to properly stop at its optimum point. Which for now I have ruled out doing. In fact, if I really have to say, since we have now gone brutally OT, I originally thought that this clutch should only come into action in cases of extreme necessity, as happens in most trials. But this one, the way it is made, slips more easily than I could estimate and the servo-controlled 'prime mover,' and the machine, get out of phase, maybe by a little, but frequently, and when the machine work at it's high speed, (in fact all of the time), I can't adjust properly the 'prime mover' position at fly.

Versions: CODESYS V3.5 SP19 Patch 7 using IIOT Libraries SL license, specifically JSON Utilities SL version 1.13.0.0. However, as soon as we pass it to the jsonArrayWriter (which is a JSON.JSONByteArrayWriter), the resulting jsonDataString does not match our expectations, instead coming out like this: { "id": "machine_1", "readings": [ { "temp_mid": 153.8 } ] } { "temp_mid": 98.3 } "status": "RUNNING" The behaviour of the JSONByteArrayWriter thus seems to be the problem here. It does not seem to correctly process the children of JsonElements that are ARRAYs when additions to them are done broken up by additions to the lower level JSON OBJECT they are a part of. We have confirmed this by changing the order of the calls in our example to add both readings before adding the "status", in which case we get our expected outcome. However, in reality this is not possible for us - additions to any of the JSON's objects, arrays or array objects may happen at any time after other fields elsewhere in the JSON have been added. Does anyone know a way around this, a fix, or knows a solution we simply have not found? This same phenomenon was also noted on this forum by user @ryusoup at the end of 2023 (https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Engineering/thread/c45929e2f1/#e27f) and user @mtho in early 2024 (https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Engineering/thread/cd1bb450db/#1292) but both topics received no activity beyond both users' opening posts. Looking through the release notes of all the versions of the JSON Utilities SL library, I also did not see any remarks on resolutions of bugs in this vain. Thanks in advance for the assistance!

Hello, I am facing a problem with the new Softmotion 4.17.0.0 version. Has anyone encountered a similar problem, what is the solution? I would be happy if you could share it. Problem description: -- "SMC_FreeEncoder" encoder axis is the master, -- The motor of the servo driver on the EtherCAT bus is the slave axis. -- When the MC_CamIn block executed, the InSync output is activated. However, although the master encoder axis position value changes, there is no movement in the slave servo axis! Test steps: 1-) EtherCAT servo axis installed, configured and motion test was performed with MC_Jog. No problem. 2-) Softmotion general axis pool > SMC_FreeEncoder was added and pulse amount configuration was performed. No problem. 3-) Incremental encoder actual count value was transferred to the "SMC_FreeEncoder.diEncoderPosition" variable as DINT under the ethercat task in every cycle and the encoder axis position value was observed. No problem. 4-) A simple CAM table with a 1:1 ratio was created under the project tree. (For example: Simply, when the encoder rotates 1 turn, the motor will rotate 1 turn.) 5-) The SMC_FreeEncoder axis enabled with MC_Power and brought to the StandStill state. 6-) The MC_CamTableSelect block was run with default input values ​​(all absolute) and only the Cam table name was specified. The Done output was seen successfully. No problem. 7-) The MC_CamIn block was activated with default input values ​​(absolute) and only the master encoder axis name, slave servo axis name, CamTableID input pins was specified and then "Execute" input set to TRUE. 8-) The InSync output information of the MC_CamIn block observed as TRUE. Hey Guys :) I have the following Problem using Modbus via Codesys: I'm trying to implement a Modbus Device into my codesys project. The device is a Router from Teltonika (RUT956) and it can communicate via Modbus. Currently I'm trying to implement it into my codesys prject as a slave and I'm using my windows computer as master. As it is not a codesys device (the codesys application is not uploaded to device as it has its own software) I'm having problems requesting and reading registers from the router. I've set up my windows computer as Master and implemented the router as slave. When I go online on my master device it sais that it has established a connection to the slave (router)(So I'm thinking this could work as there is a connection?). The goal is to read the GPS (latitude and longitude) data and on the homepage of teltonika you can find the register address and number of registers (adress 143 for latitude and 145 for longitude; both have a number of two registers). I've found tutorials how to read specific registers via their register address with other modbus programs (like modbus-cli), but as my entire project is established in codesys I was hoping to read these specific registers via codesys so that I can show the GPS data on my dashboard. I've tried establishing slave channels but that hasn't been working. I tried read input register channels of the length 4 but it's not possible to define specific register addresses to read via codesys so that didn't work (I jsut get a slaves device failure) and I've also tried establishing 516 (total number of registers the router sends I think?) read inputregister channels but that has the samle failure... So i guess the problem I'm having is establishing slave channels to read these specific registers. Does anyone know how to tackle this problem and has maybe had the same problem? Or maybe someone knows a workaround? I'm quite new to codesys so maybe I'm also lacking expertise...

Hello, I am writing to You with the problem of Profinet communication in my Codesys V2.5 SP21 project working on Codesys Control RTE V3 x64 device. I have implemented multiple Profinet devices in the network, the Profinet itself is configured properly, based on the hardware and software parameters of the industrial PC (Windows 10 IoT). My Profinet network contains such Profinet devices as a robot, IO-Link master with some devices on it, IO modules, safety, vision sensor (the configuration is attached to this topic). Once every few hours, sometimes more often, sometimes not even once a day, the error show up at one, two or a few random modules at the same time, every one is the same: "Station 'xyz': AR aborted by device (alarm.ind): AR consumer DHT expired". The communication is then lost with that module, but it is up instantly. It is not such a problem when it comes to regular IOs, but with safety or rotation table, it causes errors and machine stops. I have tried multiple solution based on any forum suggestions, manuals, etc., but it is still happening. Mabye when I turned on the Watchdog for this communication, it is happening less times, but still, I could not turning up the Watchdog parameters at the expense of cycle time of the process. The same is with Send Clock, Reduction and DHT. I have one of the ethernet port on the PC configured with CmpEt1000Drv driver. The card itself is Intel Ethernet Connection I219-LM. These devices are connected to one EKI-2728-NI-A Profinet switch (it was changed from the standard non Profinet one, but still nothing has changed). As I said ealier, I am attaching all the configurations for each device and the communication itself - if any of You had the same problems or have any ideas what could be the cause, I would be much gratefull for any help. Hi, I am trying to build a CI/CD pipeline around our codesys projects. The only entry point if the git url and branch, as we do not put our project file under source control, so we needed to find a way to git clone from the python scripting engine. I investigated the VersionUpdateFlags, but the problem is that the git clone is an atomic operation that clones and directly opens the generated project without the possibility to inject any updateFlags argument (only used in the ScripProjects.open() function. I also tried to simulate some keyboard events acknowledge the window from script but I did not find the right location for the SendKeys statement, I think before the git clone call is too early and after is too late. So I am wondering if there would be some other way to do that. Is there some more proper scripting api for the git add on ? Is there a global configuration of the VersionUpdateFlags that would allow the popup to be disabled outside from any project context ? Is there some way to automatically acknowledge this kind of messages in a "--noUI" mode ? What do you suggest ?
