It is either my installation is bad, or there is a bug. I re-created the project in 3.5 SP19 and there are no errors or warnings. Compiles with no errors or warnings. The original was done in 3.5 SP20. Thoughts?

Objective: I want to dynamically update the content with strings and JPEG images received from a TCP/IP socket. For this purpose, I am exploring the possibility of utilizing the Web Browser feature of the Visualization toolbox. Example: In a standard web browser, entering data:text/plain;charset=utf-8;base64,SGVsbG8gc3RyYW5nZXI= in the URL window will display "Hello stranger" on the webpage. Issue: When attempting to use this method in the Web Browser of the Visualization toolbox, the content does not display as expected. Instead, it shows the error:'Navigation to the webpage was canceled.'. Request: I seek guidance on how to resolve this issue so that the Web Browser in the Visualization toolbox correctly interprets and displays the data URI content. Alternative Solution Welcomed: Or, if it is possible to directly use Codesys Structured Text (ST) variables within an HTML page, this approach would also meet my requirements. Hello! I am trying to compare 2 projects via the --compare CLI option. In the docs for the --compare option, it describes the usage as .\CODESYS.exe --compare "project path 1" "project path 2". I store my projects in WSL2 on my windows machine. Since CODESYS is happy to open those projects via a path like \\wsl.localhost\home\project.project. So, to compare, I use the command .\CODESYS.exe --compare "\\wsl.localhost\home\prog1.project" "\\wsl.localhost\home\prog2.project". This results in CODESYS just opening the project and starting, not comparing the two projects. No errors are thrown, and I know the paths are correct since I can open both independently in CODESYS, and I can compare them manually through the CODESYS UI. I have also tried moving my projects to the Windows 11 OS and still have the same issue. CODESYS opens the project and does not actually compare them. I am using CODESYS profile v3.5 sp20 patch 1. What is the correct way to compare 2 projects using the --compare CLI option?

I saved it as the same project but in a different location. I opened this "new project". I clicked on the "Direct Login from Automation Builder" button. It automatically directed me to CODESYS, where I was able to create the "Create Boot Project" but first I also clicked login again but inside CODESYS keeping the automation builder login online. Additional Information: The "Create Boot Project" function in CODESYS is used to create a project that will automatically start when the controller is booted up. To create a boot project, you must first create a new project in CODESYS. Once you have created a new project, you can then use the "Create Boot Project" function to create a boot application. The "Create Boot Project" function will create a new application that is based on the current project. The new application will be saved in the same location as the current project. You can then download the new application to the controller.

Recently we had an issue regarding some simple code to calculate a rolling average. The code indexes from zero to 199 to properly store the current input into a circular buffer which then allows us to calculate a rolling average: VAR input_5s : REAL; outs_arr : ARRAY[0..199] OF REAL; i : USINT := 0; END_VAR ___ //this code runs every five seconds, calculating a rolling average outs_arr[i] := input_5s; i := i + 1; output := OSCAT_BASIC.ARRAY_AVG(ADR(outs_arr), SIZEOF(outs_arr)); IF i >= SIZEOF(outs_arr) THEN i := 0; END_IF There is a simple bug in this code where the index will be set to 0 when it has surpassed the length of the array in bytes (800 in this case) rather than larger than the number of reals in the array (200). The solution here is simple, replacing i >= SIZEOF(outs_arr) with i >= SIZEOF(outs_arr)/SIZEOF(outs_arr[0]). In this example when the index increased to 201 and the line outs_arr[201] := input_5s was called, codesys arbitrarily wrote to the address in memory that is where outs_arr[201] would be if the array was that long. I would like to find a way to wrap the codesys array inside of a wrapper class that checks if an input is within the bounds of an array before writing to that value. I know how I would implement that for a specific array, I could create a method or class that takes an input of an array of variable length, ie. ARRAY[*] OF REAL, but I don't know how to make this for any data type. I am wondering if anyone has ever done anything similar to this, or has any better suggestions to ensure that none of the programmers on this application accidentally create code that can arbitrarily write to other locations in memory.

I use Peak USB adapter daily to download from CoDeSys 2.3 and 3.5 to IFM, EPEC and other controllers. The process: - First you need to install the appropriate driver. Link: https://www.peak-system.com/Drivers.523.0.html?&L=1 - Restart the computer - Start the CoDeSys application - Change the name of the adapter in Communication parameters, as mentioned in previous comment. Write the name exactly as written "Peak_USB", as it could also be case sensitive (defines which .dll file to use). If this doesn't work I would contact the vendor of the controller to find out the procedure. In the attachment I've added a FAQ document from IFM regarding using PCAN USB. P.S. I've noticed in your picture of communication parameters a channel via TCP/IP is mentioned. In this case a USB to CAN connection is not being used. First you should change the channel/gateway to connect via CANbus or connect using an Ethernet cable.

Hello everyone, I’m currently working on setting up an EtherCAT Master using CODESYS on a Raspberry Pi, and I’ve run into some issues I could use help with. Project Setup: EtherCAT Master: Raspberry Pi with CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi 64 SL installed EtherCAT Slave: Beckhoff CX5130 with EK1200 coupler I/O Module: EL2008 License Module: EL6070-0033 I’ve installed the required CODESYS packages and the Linux gateway on the Raspberry Pi. In my project, I added the EtherCAT Master with the appropriate port settings and scanned for devices. The CX5130 shows up as a slave, but communication fails—I'm getting error messages and can't access the outputs. Specifically: The EL2008 output module isn’t recognized properly in CODESYS. There’s no option to communicate with it through the CX5130. I’ve tried connecting via both the Raspberry Pi’s built-in Ethernet port and an external network card. I've attached screenshots showing the errors I get in CODESYS and the devices detected via TwinCAT for reference. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Hey, I'm pretty new to CoDeSys so I don't know a lot of things yet. I have to create a connection between two devices (CANbus - J1939 connection). The idea for now is to send a message from one to another (one operates on 3.5 SP11 the other one on 2.3) I watched a few videos, worked with the documentation and worked with chatGPT 4o and was able to build the attached file. This part is about the device on 3.5.11: I'm using the J1939LocalECUDiag, TransmitParameterGroup, TransmissionTrigger Function blocks to send the message but my TransmitPG.xBusy / .xDone never turns to True and therefore my message is not sent while TransmitPG.xExcecute is True. I added the two devices in the CANbus in the J1939Manager and addapted the options like I've seen in the documentation. Can anyone explain what's wrong with my code in this casse or give me advices how to properly create a connection between my two devices? Thanks in advance!

I got a Wago PFC200V2, running Codesys 3.5.16.40, 100ms scan cycle, consumes about 20ms. It will randomly crash the runtime every 10 minutes to a few hours. We suspect an overloaded ModbusTCP Slave Device, as this is work done by a 3rd party contractor, but we can not find anything in the help files or documentation, that mentions a hard limit on maximum number of clients connections. This PLC currently has 44 client connections to the Slave Device and 29 slaves configured for its own Master Device. Hi, I'm currently reading and writing several registers with a Modbus TCP server as a subdevice of a Modbus TCP Client. If I read and write cyclically, there are no issues. The problem is this: I see there is also the option to write by "Application", which I would like to use. However, I don't know With the Modbus RTU client, I see there is a trigger variable, xTrigger, to trigger the writing tasks. However, I can't find any such trigger for the Modbus TCP Client. Does anybody know how to implement the trigger behavior for the Modbus TCP client? In particular, I struggle to find the exact "trigger" variable. I'm running Modbus Client version 4.4.0.0 Thanks in advance!

Hi all, Im new to Codesys 3.5, and am in the process fo making a visualisation i'd eventually export towards a Wago device. The issue I'm having currently is that when I compile and connect to the simulated program, my simulation won't launch. On the Visualisation tab, all I get is a text message (where previously there was my prepared visualisation) that says "The visualisation awaits a connection. Start the application" One thing to note: I work with Codesys 3.5 in french, so this is a rough translation. And a second: I'm not getting any errors nor warnings about the visualisation tab itself upon compiling Is there a step i'm missing after launching my simulation? Or would it be some really specific issue caused by the way I've set up my program? Thanks, J

Hello, I’m developing a program and for some reason I got this error: C0193: Name '2,Recipe #2GVL' is no valid identifier I was creating a combo box and creating a TextList for my recipe. I couldn't find where the error was, until in the combo box properties in the 'Text List' property in the options it gives me to select, I found '2,Recipe #2' to be able to select (I never created a list with this name) and I can't find a way to delete that option or I can't find where that list is. I tried to delete the TextLists, delete the combo box, to clean the project, but the error still there. How can I delete this option (2,Recipe #2)? Or how can I fix this error?** Thank you.

I don't seem to be able to use an axis, which is part of an Axis Group in torque control mode. I call the SMC_SetControllerMode FB to switch from position to torque control mode, followed by the SMC_SetTorque FB to set the desired torque. This works flawlessly for most axes, however if an axis is part of an axis group, switching the controller mode seems to work without any issues, but the desired torque is never set. SMC_SetTorque does not return an error, but fSetTorque of the axis is never changed. Disabling the axis group before does not change anything, but if I use MC_UngroupAllAxes before changing the controller mode, it all works as it should. Is there no way to control a single axis in torque control, if it is part of an axis group?

I am relatively new to Codesys and I'm trying to develop an HMI that displays what mode a particular device is in based on an integer value. I am currently using dynamic texts with a text list which works fine but I am looking for a way to display a particular string (ie 'Unknown') when the index doesn't match any of of the indices in the text list. I can enter 'Unknown' in the text property of the text field element which works as expected but it displays the single quotes on the visualization. How can I escape these quotes to simply display the word Unknown? Thanks!

After my tests, I noticed two issues. 1- WinCC disconnects the connection after receiving the GetEndPointResponse message from CoDeSys. (I found it with UAExpert and Wireshark.) 2- It establishes a connection despite waiting for a while on the network with DNS. As a result of this information: I solved the problem by adding the line "193.193.193.150 t9pac" to the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts file and making Windows accept messages coming from the IP number 193.193.193.150 as coming from t9pac. (t9pac is the name of my PLC running CoDeSys.) If there is a setting that will allow CoDeSys OPC UA to respond to GetEndPointRequest with its IP address, this problem will not occur.

Thank you very much for your time and replay! Sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately, I have no other option to run the code from the running plc. So, I can’t stop any services. If anyone has the same problem, I've gotten a little closer to understanding it: Sometimes the copied files are empty after the restart. The update code checks if there are any empty files. Before I turn off the device, everything is okay. But after starting, some files are suddenly empty and that cause the problems. I don't know why this happens.

Does the device have a green icon next to it when the PLC is running? If not you have some kind of communication problem, wireshark may be picking up some data but the scanner may not be configured correctly to receive the data. Check the T>O and O>T bytes and make sure they match on both the scanner and adapter. I've had very little success loading a .eds file and having the configuration work without some manual configuration. If you have a green icon, have you enabled the device to always update variables?

I need to be able to update (change) the interface of an IO-Link device at runtime. The reason is the connected sensor can be selected at runtime, and some sensors we use have a 2 byte IN interface, others have a 4 byte IN interface, others 16 byte IN, others 16 byte IN/OUT (see attached screenshot). Is it possible at all? When yes, which function should I use? Thank you!

I was trying to use subdevicesCollapsed attribute in device descriptor in order to not expand the subdevices when a new device with subdevices is inserted in the device tree. I use this as follows:<fixed subdevicescollapsed="true">. But it seems it doesn`t work. I am ussing Codesys v3.5 SP16 Patch4. Is anything wrong with this? Or am I mistaken with the use of this attirbute?</fixed>
