Hello, I have a question: Once the command is being executed, is there a way to kill it again? As the called application is running in the background, the user can't close it but it shall be closed/terminated, commanded by codesys. I have tried with "SysProcessTerminate" but I guess this is not correct as the RTE crashes when this function is called. Starting the application: IF GVL.xStrtQR THEN GVL.xStrtQR := FALSE; SysProcess.SysProcessExecuteCommand2(pszCommand:=sCmd, pszStdOut:=stdout, udiStdOutLen:= SIZEOF(stdout),pResult := ADR(GVL.pResQRTsk)); END_IF Trying to stop it again: IF GVL.xTrmQR THEN GVL.xTrmQR := FALSE; pResTerm := SysProcess.SysProcessTerminate(hProcess:=SysProcess.SysProcessGetCurrentHandle(pResult:=ADR(GVL.pResQRTsk))); END_IF Codesyscontrol Win x64, 3.5.19.10. Many thanks for any advice pointing to the correct direction.. :-) Regards, Fabian

I have a simulation function that toggle xSimActive. I map all IO variables to "IO GVLs" when xSimActive=0. I map IO corresponding SimIO GVL to "IO GVLs" when xSimActive=1. Then I write code for the simulation program that runs when xSimActive=1. Typically increase flow corresponding to pump speed, simulate tankfilling corresponding to flow and so on. I made a FC that require a correct code to activate simulation to avoid unintended activation by service dept. When comissioned remove any possibility to activate simulation. Super when officetesting and supporting service dept. + cheap as it requires no additional equipment, and it is easier to support customer later on in the life cycle as you can test proposed changes without setting up a testlab.

Hi, I have an issue with a function which sends a message through API Rest. I'm using a function from httpCLient library. I have tested this function inside a program and it works fine. But when I want to use it inside a function (so I can call it simultaneously from 2 different points on the main program) it gives a stack overflow error. In detail it says: "C0297 Stack Overflow on Main Task. Stack sizes... Call hierarchy:" I have simplified as much as I can the function, but I'm hitting a wall with this. Anybody has an idea of what's wrong? Thanks!

If you have a Windows system (RTE), then why not run the CODESYS HMI as separate controller. This could easily be moved to another PC if required. In the HMI you could also still use the Symbolic Var access as part of the Data Source Manager, although maybe OPC is the preferred way to make it more future proof. Or what about the Remote Target Visu. Then you can reduce the load of the main controller, while still only having to create one application including Visualization. This is now also supported for Linux systems. See: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/_rtsl_target_visu_for_linux.html https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Visualization/_visu_execute_remote_target_visu.html

I have a project where a single PLC shall control multiple nodes (up to 10 units?) with IO connected through profinet. Ideally each node should be identical however with time I see situations were different setups/configurations will be used. Codesys PLC (GVLs) |Profinet | |--PNIO-node-1--| | | AIO, | | DIO, | | CNT etc. | |--PNIO-node-2--| | | AIO, | | DIO, | | CNT etc. Ideally I think of a configuration through yaml/xml-files (the assignment/linking of the profinet nodes towards GVL-variables in the PLC as well as scaling, channel configration etc.). Would be grateful if someone could suggest library/-ies that can handle the following: - Verify what IO is connected to a device/node. - Hot-swap/assign link for IO towards GVLs, either automatically or through a HMI.

If you mean you want to shift the Origin or Zero position of your axis, you can try MC_SetPosition and set the position to 0 (if you want to take the current active position and make it the new 0. Adjust this number accordingly if/as needed). This means the servo drive keeps it's current origin position, and Codesys applies an offset to the servo drive position in the logic. You can also use the homing function of your servo drive using MC_Home and have your drive configured to set the current position as origin when it receives a homing command.

Yes, There is. As explained "Manual creation of CAM structure" on below section. Likewise tappet structure also can be create manual and value of the switching point can be change during IEC program running. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20SoftMotion/_sm_basic_cam_programmatic_creation.html Just create a cam table and define some tapped points as sample for your project. Then on project compile, the created cam tapped data is converted internally into a global variable list. By clicking "Display generated code" in the "cam editor", you can display the automatically created global variables for both cam & tappets. Regards, Imdat

Is there a way to see what value is set as the "Work travel distance per motor rotation" that is set in the Scaling menu of the axis ? I am working on my own homing function block for sensorless (hardstop) homing and I want to make it be universal between different axes with different motor's scaling for distance per rev so I need to know this value from the axis itself. I know I could do it by just creating an input variable for the function block but I'm leaving that option as a last resort.

I installed the package as Administrator, executed Codesys as Administrator I also tried to connect using the deploy (even with ssh and everything enabled on the RaspberryPi I received password denied). I used in the past the same equipment with Codesys V3.5 Sp18 and RaspberryPI Package 4.08, it was really easy. (I also did a brand new RaspbianOs installation to make sure that nothing affect the connection). Anyone, knows how to fix it? Thanks,

Hi, Found a nice ramp function in the OSCAT lib (FT_RMP), but is there a nice way to 'set' the output to the current input as form of a reset. The reason for this, is that I want to set up a ramp for a pressure control input that should have x Bar/sec linear rise input. The only option (or code it by hand) I found is this OSCAT FB. Any other options? Just need to increase a value by x Bar/sec from let's say 250Bar (as start) to end 1500Bar. The Oscat ramp will always start at 0 when enable is off (FT_RMP.Rmp := FALSE)

I'm having trouble finding clear answers on this. I'm looking for a way to make a Codesys project password protected so that if the project is distributed it can be used to log into a controller to view and debug logic. At this same time I want to prevent the project from being saved as well as edits being downloaded to the controller. Basically I want to make a whole project view-only. What is the beat way to achieve this? I have had minor success with access rights, which solves the problem with trying to login if the project doesn't match what is in the controller. However with this solution, edits can still be made and saved, possibly corrupting the core project, preventing future logins. Any suggestions?

Hello all, Encountered an issue with my zero which seems to have happened after the 4.11 update. It now runs in demo mode (2hr) and I am trying to see what the appropriate steps are prior to contacting codesys directly. Background: I recently did a fresh install of w11 on my pc, so it seems "c:\ProgramData\CODESYS\Licenses\" only has information related to my pi5, which I licensed just this past Friday. I have all my license documentation about my rpi zero as far as the emails received, but when I try to claim using the ticket number it says its already been used, or something to that effect, which it was. Currently trying to perform device license reader, which is taking some time.

Hello, CODESYS Control is running on my RevPi, and my system communicates over a CANbus with a master using the ConnectCan module (Slave - CANopen Device). The communication works perfectly fine so far. However, as soon as I call a Python script with "SysProcessExecuteCommand2" that creates a CSV file and executes without errors, the master does not adopt any changes to the Transmission Process Data Objects (TPDOs). I don't quite understand what one has to do with the other, and perhaps someone can help me with this. Here is my script call: SysProcess.SysProcessExecuteCommand2(pszCommand:='python /home/pi/test.py', pszStdOut:=sCMDOutput, udiStdOutLen:= SIZEOF(sCMDOutput), pResult := ADR(eResult)); Thank you in advance! I'm trying to work with Codesys Control for Linux ARM64 SL 4.18.0.0 on a Toradex Verdin NXP iMX8MP. I have the runtime installed and operational as well as Codemeter lite 8.40.7141.503 (arm64). I'm running 3.5.20.60 and when "Scan Network" I see the Verdin popup. When I try to connect to it, the "mandatory use of the user management" popup shows...which makes sense. I click YES and enter user information and click OK. It immediately displays a "No device is responding to the scan request" popup. The IDE can see the Verdin in the scan...so this popup does not make sense to me. I thought maybe it was a read only issue but I've made all partitions and paths RW. Has anyone experienced this? Can anyone tell me where it is trying to write user data?

Thanks So Much for the reply! Were using the Weidmuller UV66-ADV-10-CAP-W The HMI is pointed to the URL which is assigned through u-OS. Basically when you log into the controller's webserver via browser you can view the installed apps. One of which is the Codesys runtime. When you click on that it takes you to the visualization. That corresponding url is what the HMI is looking for. I apologize I don't have that on hand as I'm in the office right now. I don't think I tried connecting using the port you mentioned and https in lieu of the u_OS URL. I can certainly try. Out of the box the u-OS is set for HTTP. Since we're isolated I havent changed that yet. When this has happened while logged on via chrome on my laptop, simply refreshing brings the visualization right back. In the case of the HMI in kiosk mode, we power cycle the HMI to force a reconnect, log back in u-OS and the visualization is back.

Hi, I would like to divide a project into multiple applications - as a minimum: one handling visualization and Alarm Manager, one handling I/O and plant control logic. But how to exchange variables between the applications? What have you done to get such a solution? In versions 3.5.19 and earlier, you can have Child applications, where the children can access a GVL in the Parent application. Children apps is no longer possible in 3.5.20 - but you can have 'sibling' apps - Several apps directly under PLC Logic, that is. But how do they best communicate? The Communication Manager / Data Sources Manager is sort of possible via OPC UA, but it seems like overkill and with some limitations - for example no ARRAY OF STRUCT possible this way. If you have separate devices in your project, you can exchange data via 'CODESYS ApplicationV3', but not other applications in the same device (see attachment Datasources.png). You can do it via 'Select the project type'->'Other Project' and select the same project file, but this leads to crashing the Development system when working with the variables afterwards. It would be great to hear your thoughts / experiences on this topic - Bjarne

Some findings on this issue: PEAK CAN Driver is the same as in every PCI card from PEAK. I updated the inf file. Here are my steps: 1. Include right VendorID into the *.inf file 2. Disable Windows driver check (Disable WHQL check). This you need because 3S driver is not certified. You will find steps via google or ask chatgpt :) 3. Select: Select driver from a list and navigate to the folder. Say yes to install an uncertified driver. 4. Driver installed and device without errors I did the same with CAN Card from ESD, but here you dont need to include the vendor ID. In ANY CASE it was not successful. The RTIOwdmgeneric is not available in Codesys or anyhow accassable :( I wonder that it fails in two cases, two suppliers, two driver in the same way. How can RTIOwdmgeneric implemented into the project?

Good afternoon. I want to communicate with a Domino Industrial Printer using its Codenet protocol. The printer wants a series of Hexadecimal characters with no spaces or '00' characters. Because of that i chose the option to make the prefix and subfix for my code in a string. I have variable data in another string. With a complete program of a lot of CONCAT functions i eventually get the format of code that the printer accepts ( tested it with the hercules tool). Hercules String : 1B4F513030311B7532626C61636B04 The problem is : Codesys adds automatically 'code' to the code to show it is a string. Codesys string : '1B4F513030311B7532626C61636B04' The printer does not understand this. My idea is to convert the string datatype to an LWORD. I have no idea how to do this. I random types in STRING_TO_DWORD, as return i get 0. That didn't worked. Also on internet the explenations around string converting in codesys are very limited. If there in anyone who can explain me how to do it, i would appreciate it a lot ! Thank you!

WHEREAS, I have already searched various posts and forums, where mostly there are few references and mostly geared toward integration in TwinCAT. I am looking for how to properly configure the EL6731 board as a DP master, (where I have its 3S license), with CoDeSys 3.5.19.x. I have three types of slaves, all integrated with their GSD descriptors. In the tab for the various slaves, I don't see options related to node restart on 'station return'. On the card manual, I read that for each slave I should be able to configure parameter 8000:2C: “8000:2C Restart behavior after DP fault Reserve, must be 0 BIT1 RW 0x00 (0dec)” However, in the project I see no way to configure this parameter, in any of the boards; and the arrays do not always have such an extensive size; most of the time they are only two or three words in size. The problem is that, after the hot reset of CoDeSys, the master restarts by starting all slave nodes, but if one or more get lost and go offline, there is then no automatic restart upon their return. I would need to figure out any solution, even via software, how to figure out that this one is back available and restart it.

In my project, I added the EtherCAT Master with the appropriate port settings and scanned for devices. The CX5130 shows up as a slave, but communication fails—I'm getting error messages and can't access the outputs. Specifically: The EL2008 output module isn’t recognized properly in CODESYS. There’s no option to communicate with it through the CX5130. I’ve tried connecting via both the Raspberry Pi’s built-in Ethernet port and an external network card. I've attached screenshots showing the errors I get in CODESYS and the devices detected via TwinCAT for reference. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Hi all, I'm new to Codesys and Wago but well versed in Rockwell. I've been tasked with upgrading old Wago 750-880 PLCs that run Codesys v2.3. All I was giving is the original PLC program in v2.3 and the currently running machine. I've spec out to what I believe is a suitable upgrade, the PFC100 2ndGen, 750-8111. As I'm rewriting this code on the Codesys I can't find the same library functions blocks for ethernet settings PLC functions. Currently I'm working on code to get/set the PLC ethernet IP address and HMI IP addresses from the HMI screen. One other function I'm looking for is a warm reset function to the PLC. When googling for this stuff I see a lot of code not in ladder logic. Are these functions now not available to implement in ladder logic? Where can I get more information on finding and implementing this functions? Do I have to buy a license from Codesys to use these functions? The PLC I ordered should be arriving in 2-3 weeks.

To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes. Example: "getting started docs"
To exclude a word or phrase, put a dash in front of it. Example: docs -help
To search on specific fields, use these field names instead of a general text search. You can group with AND or OR.
