Hello, our team want to create a control runtime for our device based o Linux. if I understand correctly, first need to download the CODESYS Control Runtime Toolkit and then i can get manual how to make control runtime for our platform. It is necessary to assess the complexity of programming and understanding of the general principles of creating custom control runtime.
1) I understand it right? or do I need to turn to a third party company for help and pay for the development?
2) on the Web site says " A trial version of the SoftPLC under Windows is part of the standard setup of the CODESYS Development System" . A download Codesys V3 and fully installed it, but I have not found Runtime Toolkit. Where i can get it?
Thanks

Hi, there is a plethora of hardware available for it to be succesful on. In theory every ARM32/64 or x86/64 device is a potential target. Next to this there are embedded device platforms for which specific toolchains are available.
This demonstration shows how to install the runtime on a X86 based controller, it should be the same for an ARM based device, but you'll need to install the add-in for Codesys control for Linux ARM SL (or the 64 bit add-in.)

Hi @andreal, Were you able to adapt a codesys runtime to your linux based device?
I am planning on the same lines. we want to develop a small controller of 64IOs for our application.
We want to adapt codesys runtime on our Arm processor based embedded linux boards.
I too have same requirement. Could anyone can share the hardware proven withCoDeSys ?

A good starting for manufactureres of CODESYS capable devices is available here: https://www.codesys.com/the-system/codesys-inside.html. That should give you a good reference point.
I have a video demonstrating the procedure to install the runtime on a linux device.
