Hello, I am trying to get TargetVisu for Linux working but i am having some troubles. The problem is that after installation it is not starting automatically on boot and i cannot start it from the update Targetvisu tool. When i try i get the following error (see attached screenshot) The file /opt/codesysvisualization/scripts/codesysvisualization_start.sh is missing... Steps performed: - installed fresh Debian 12.7 on virtual machine - installed all required libraries as described here: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/_rtsl_target_visu_for_linux.html - then installed the TargetVisu for Linux SL 4.13.0.0 using the Codesys IDE Does someone know how i can fix this? Hello All, Hopefully I can get some help configuring an OPC UA subscriber in a CODESYS runtime in a Raspberry Pi 5 that tries to retrieve data from an OPC UA publisher (in this case running in a TwinCAT system). I tried to follow the steps described in the page to implement the OPC UA subscriber: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_opcua_pubsub.html Seems that the example provided was created with version 3.5.16.0. Now with version 3.5.20.20 is not possible to open the complete project neither convert it. Anyway, after configuring all IPs and ports used in the OPC UA connection function block but the connection state always shows DISABLED. Can someone help me to do the proper configuration of the OPC UA subscriber? Many thanks in advance.

Dear Support, I have i950 wants to connect with Beckhoff EtherCAT coupler BK1120. There are 2 GSD files for BK1120. 1. BK1120 without MDP.(EtherCAT ESI Device Description (XML)) 2. BK1120 with MDP. (EtherCAT BKxxx (MDP) configuration files) When connecting the BK1120 with i950, scanned devices detects BK1120 without MDP from ESI No1 above. But the KL1408 & KL2408 not detect because they have ELxxxx IO type. When manually insert BK1120 with MDP, the KL1xx8 is able to add manually also but the error shows and Install Missing Descriptions appears. The questions; 1. Why the error occurs? 2. I have a time which I want to modify with a slider. I have confirmed it is possible to set the value of the slider by to_real(time) (I can see that the slider changes according to 'my_time_value's value). Slider variable: to_real(my_time_value); However I fail to access the current slider instance value when I want to write back the value as time (write to a variable will not work as I need a type-conversion before assignment). my_time_value := to_time(slider-instance-value); I tried with this^.? but could not see anything interesting and also THIS^.GEN_Instance.? but nothing resemble what could be the sliders value. Anyone that knows? Thanks!

I have the same annoying problem. The confirmation prompt for every single action appeared recently after an update from CODESYS 3.5 SP20 Patch 3 to Patch4, but I don't think it's due to this. Having to confirm every operation while debugging an application is a considerable waste of time and does not help at all to concentrate on development, not to mention that many times you miss the long-awaited event because you are busy looking for the 'yes' button to resume debugging or force a variable. Does anyone know how to disable the confirmation messages?

I was trying to use a table object in visualization. I want to dynamically show the valid rows in the table. However, it does not work when there is 1 row. i put the maximum array index to 1. it does not show the 1st row. when i change to 2, it show the second row only. my project with older visualization profile version is working perfectly fine. I did some test and realized that i must use a Row Selection variable to change from 0 to 1. With this change of Row selection, then the row 1 will show up.

I swear I tested this like 20 times yesterday without success. Repeated it today and it works. Maybe the system needed a "real" power reboot? To note. To make a manual edit of a variable I tried some different approaches this is what worked for me. "system/online edited" gvl_var.example_variable REAL:F16#2FFB334H-4 767.7 "manually edited" (with runtime stopped followed by a "cold start" to read from file) gvl_var.example_variable REAL:790.1 (the system will use the manual value but will not set an equivalent "hex" value until next online edit/write cycle)

Dear Forum I have the following config: Codesys_IDE 3.5.20 Codesys_Virtual_Control 4.13 Codesys_License_Server 4.13 I know these are not the newest versions, but in my mind these should work. I have the same problem here. I have the license server installed on the host, and in the docker container(Codesys virtual control) I'm able to ping the license server. In the /conf/codesyscontrol/CODESYSControl_User.cfg I have added the following config: [CmpCodeMeter] EnableNetLicenses=1 LicenseServer.1="ip address of the host" I have tried it via the wbm web-page. I can create new license containers over there, but still no luck. I also have tried to run the docker container with the -s "server_IP" command. I have searched for some tutorial's but I couldn't find it. If anyone has some clue or can give me a push in the right direction it would be very very welcome!

I am using the object SMC_GEOINFO to generate a trajectory and move a system accordingly using the SMC_INTERPOLATOR function block similar to the sample project CNC10_DynamicPath.project. According to the documentation, the movement type INITPOS does not require a start position in the SMC_GEOINFO object, which is confirmed in the documentation of the SMC_GEOINFO object. When using the movement type INITPOS however, the motion will still start from the starting point defined in the SMC_GEOINFO object (0,0,0 if not specified otherwise). Does someone know how to resolve this or is there an example project that makes use of the INITPOS movement type without specifying the starting point? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I am currently having issues on CODESYS Control for linux SL with DTH expiring. I have followed several tutorials of creating a proper RT linux. I am having an issue where the manual start/stop push buttons on the HMI are supposed to take the pumps/blowers out of auto. The logic I have attached works for the pumps, but not the blower. From what I can tell it is the exact same logic, but it is not writing a 0 to the Auto PB variable. Attached is the logic, cross reference list to show nothing else is writing to it, and the HMI screen. Any help? Am I missing something? I am using a Groov Epic PR1, my software version is 3.5 SP19 Patch 5 32 Bit.

The additional commands, Insert TON box & Insert TOFF box, are present in the Customize Menus or Toolbars when re-opening the Customize options but neither the menu or the toolbar gets updated with these. Would also like to add them in the Ladder Toolbox as there are only 9 items in there which does not include the one mentioned above. Due because of the version I am using ? Any assistance would definitely be appreciated. Thank you Mike

I recognized that I have to start the two services "/etc/init.d/codemeter" and "/etc/init.d/codemeter-webadmin" in the docker container as well. If I do so, then the command "cmu -x" returns root@sensoredge-field-netfield-produktmanagment:/# cmu -x cmu - CodeMeter Universal Support Tool. Version 7.60c of 2023-Aug-09 (Build 5625) for Linux/ARMHF 64-Bit Copyright (C) 2007-2023 by WIBU-SYSTEMS AG. All rights reserved. So this time there is no indication any more that "Codemeter is not running". But still we are getting the error when using the license manager in CODESYS development system.

This... is not very practical for me - as I have a bunch of different classes - it's just doesn't seems to be very practical to define a NULL for each of them... Something like this I use in parameter definitions. For example: VAR_INPUT refVFD_Drive : REFERENCE TO FB_VFD_Drive := GVL_DUMMY.Dummy_VFD; END_VAR I use this to prepare objects for code I don't control: Typycally visualizations - had many troubles with references set on the fly, right before opening a corresponding visualization... And yes, the instance in GVL_Dummy reports itself as "Fake", so it does not influence the actual application at all. Actually this way I could invalidate a reference, just to set it to a "Dummy" instance.

Thanks for the response, as I've thought about this problem over the last month I began to suspect this was a problem with not being able to exactly represent .1 as a 32 bit binary number. I think I've found a work around by making the number an integer, then dividing it by 10 and storing that value as a floating point number. There is still an issue with the value not being exact somewhere in the 8th or 9th decimal place, but because I'm incrementing an integer value then dividing it, the error doesn't compound.

Trying the web-version of trend-data. This seems to be a impressive tool, but I lack/cant find a number of what I would think are important parts. There does not seem to be a way to get away from the dot.notated variable naming in the legend.. A developer might want the dot-notation but an end-customer will surely not. For instance I want to display 12 temperatures, instead of t1, t2 etc.. they will be named. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_a gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_b gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_c gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t2_a .. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t4_b.. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t4_c.. Quite a lot of unnecessary text/data taking space from the actual trend => Is there a way to access/interface the legend-data programmatically so I can change the presentation/naming?

The option to update "Control for Linux SL" is not shown in the "deploy control SL tool", I can see and update the gateway but not the control (3.5.21 SP4). Has the way to update control SL changed? In the process of fault finding I removed the control SL entirely from my target, then I had to revert to version 3.5.21.0 SP 1 to re-install "Control SL 4.17.0.0". So I thought it was just a matter of using SP1 to update also to 4.18.0.0, but after installing the files for 4.18.0.0 in the SP1-version, the behavior was identical to SP4, ie no Control for Linux SL shown in the deploy tool.. See screenshots.

Dear All, I am using CODESYS 3.5.19 SP4 with a PLC device. When I try to download my program to the device, I get the error: "The application 'Application' does not exist on the device". Additionally, after restarting the device, the program does not run automatically. When I connect to the device using WinSCP, I can see that the application.app file is uploaded to the root directory, but the device does not automatically start the application. I tried using the Create Boot Application option, but it does not resolve the issue. Is there another configuration step I am missing? How can I fix this problem? Thank you, Best regards,

Apparently my construction will not work as any of the sub-types are not be able to accept any (further) value-initiation. Ie: string_item : log_data_base := (string_value := 'test', val_type := STRING_); is not eq to (the string_value will not be assigned): string_item_2 : log_data_string := (string_value := 'test'); Because effectively for the compiler this is eq. to a "double" assignment where the compiler sees only the first assignment (my guess). string_item_2 : log_data_base := (val_type := STRING_) := (string_value := 'test'); Im not sure this should be treated as a bug, but it would surely be nice to be able to use this construction (compiler is 3.5.20.40). Anyone see any other alternative for solution (other than 4 complete STRUCTS with all fields individually defined)?

Meanwhile, I would like to understand why the motion FB instances must still be called even after the Execute is set to FALSE, especially in view of the fact that the next instruction is programmed to abort the previous one, with BufferMode set to 'Aborting'. All these unnecessary FB calls are an unnecessary overhead on the CPU anyway. Is there any precise rule about when to cease calling the various instances? (It should precisely be the 'done' status that says this one has finished its work). In general: - Motion function blocks have to be called until they report 'Done', 'Error', 'CommandAborted' or a subsequent motion FB with BufferMode=Aborting is started in the current cycle. - Setting the Execute input to FALSE will not abort any ongoing motion of the motion function block. For example, one case that is often problematic is the execution of the Axis Halt instruction. When, after a MoveAbosulte instruction this returns the event as 'done' and indeed the axis is in standstill, the state machine first sets the move instruction to FALSE, and the next cycle sets the Halt request to TRUE. Some of the time everything works out fine. Occasionally, however, in this exchange, the axis goes into fault, also losing the OPERATIONAL state. I think the error SMC_FB_WASNT_CALLED_DURING_MOTION is only a follow-up (and misleading) error that results from the axis not being in operational state anymore (bus problems). Is there an error 'regulator or start not set' in the device log before the error 'motion generating FB wasn't called for at least one cycle'? Which error does the respective function block (Halt.ErrorId) report?

How are the servo drives controlled? EtherCAT, step/dir pulses, other? CANOpen, 1 Mb/s, bus load 35%, cycle time 2ms. Another thought is that - if it's step/dir pulse based control - the pulses from the PLC to the drive are getting missed/lost at high frequencies? If that's the case then there would be multiple troubleshooting steps/corrections that could be investigated. Here, it seems to me that we are getting completely off track with the observed problem. You could try to create a simplified program I had already written this elsewhere. The program before being brought into machines was exhaustively tested in SW emulation and the problem did not occur. However, in emulation I was interested in checking other aspects of the process, not this specific one which is for real a correction made necessary after the fact. The part of the program that does this correction with the function mentioned in the topic, came up from its origins, but I didn't know or didn't think it was really useful. A scruple that later turned out to be necessary. However, for now I do not think I will spend any more time on this verification, already lacking any to do my normal. I remain amazed, however, that a function intended to correct the axis position with the motor in motion and that it should not interfere with this, in fact instead changes behavior as the motor speed changes. Mah! When you manually control the motor directly from the servo drive software at the speeds you are calling for, does it move precisely to the target position? The drive and motor have been working fine for about 10 years. In replacing the machine control system, I opted for CoDeSys where before there was something else. But this is not the subject of the problem. What I need to resolve is the fact that a clutch specially placed at a certain point can slip and, therefore, I have the undeniable need to phase the 'prime mover' to the mechanical position of the machine, detected by a cam for each turn, in order to properly stop at its optimum point. Which for now I have ruled out doing. In fact, if I really have to say, since we have now gone brutally OT, I originally thought that this clutch should only come into action in cases of extreme necessity, as happens in most trials. But this one, the way it is made, slips more easily than I could estimate and the servo-controlled 'prime mover,' and the machine, get out of phase, maybe by a little, but frequently, and when the machine work at it's high speed, (in fact all of the time), I can't adjust properly the 'prime mover' position at fly.

I have a WebVisu page which is re-used for multiple types of gas; it displays the alarm thresholds etc. for one gas at a time. I have an array of structures holding the set-points for each of the gasses. I'm trying to change the dialog title for the value input pop-up (VisuDialogs.Numpad). The Dialogtitle is set to Gas_Alarms.HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog, which is a string(50): When the gas type is changed (page first loaded, or prev/next buttons), METHOD Gas_Alarms.Update_Display_Variables is called, to update the strings used for the dialog titles so it shows GasName High Alarm Activation Level (EngineeringUnits), e.g. CO2 High Alarm Activation Level (PPM): HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog := Insert(' High Alarm Activation Level ()', EngineeringUnits, 30); HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog := Insert(HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog, GasName, 0); (That's not where the problem is, I'm just explaining why I'm using a variable dialogue title.) The variables used are definitely strings, but i'm always getting the error: "The type of the dialog title must be either STRING or WSTRING". I've tried moving HighAlarmActivationLevelDialog etc. to the GVL and also changing them to WSTRING, I even tried adding them to the structure array, but I always get the same error. Clearing the dialog title for that element removes the error - so I'm confident it's not a phantom error caused by something else. But I should be able to add these titles, can't just nuke them all to make it work. The MinVal and MaxVal for the Numpad are called from the array, e.g. GVL.Gas_Alarm_Configs[0].ScaledValueMIN, they are not getting an error. I am using array indexes 1 - 5 for the gasses, when I load the form or change gas, I copy the selected index to index 0 of the array, and values from Gas_Alarm_Configs[0].[ALL] are displayed on the page. When they hit save, I copy Gas_Alarm_Configs[0].[ALL] to Gas_Alarm_Configs[CurrentGasIndex].[ALL]. (ALL just means every element, I can't figure out how to display an asterix in this question... :) ) I've searched online for variable title dialog, but not found anything to help. Hi all, in Alarm management you can latch some variable to show value within the alarm msg. It´s very useful sometime. But I´m wondering whether there is any possibility to represent that value as Text list. It´s quite common in other HMI tools and this is very useful in case of using some ErrorID for detail specification of error. Unfortunately I could not find any way how to do it but I believe that exists :) Thanks a lot. M.
