I have some Symbols from the Visualization Toolbox on my Target Visu on the Computer. I tried many Symbols, mainly Arrows. I'm able to control the visibility with condition e.g. "GVL.actual_testvalues.speed <= 0" But I can't do "Toggle color" with boolean GVL.b_toggle_color. Neither "TRUE" nor "FALSE" does change anything. Is this a known issue? I'm using CODESYS V3.5 SP19 Patch 5 + (64-bit). See attached file with more Version-Info. I'm currently using Style 6, Gradient axial 2, 3.5.12.0. I had the same issue with Default 3.5.16.0.

Hello, I am new to Codesys and PLC programming in general (please go easy ha!) I'm not looking for code to be written for me just some help and pointing in the right direction. I am writing some code to send commands to a relay based on input values (to put it simply). Quite basic stuff. I have wrote a function block that takes a global variable (Open_command:BOOL) and outputs to another global variable (Opened : BOOL). The function block is simulating a device so I'll eventually get the globals from that. I now need to create multiple versions of this function block/ device (lets say 100) but I need each iteration of that function block to reference it's own relevant global variable. I think that the best way of doing this would be to use arrays, although I could be wrong. I am aware that for up to 100 instances I could very well manually assign everything but that seems rather time consuming and I want a fancier way of doing it. Here is a very basic example of what I am looking to do, please note I have not written this in proper code it's just to show what I mean. Global Variables V[0-100] int Open_command [0-100] Bool Opened [0-100] Bool Function Block var input x : BOOL Var output y : BOOL if x then y = TRUE ELSE y = FALSE The input to my function block will be Open_command, output will be Opened Example code. If V[x] > 10 then Open_command [x] = TRUE ELSE Open_command [x] = FALSE (So when V1 goes above 10 I need Open_command1 = TRUE therefore initiating FB1 output. V2 > 10, open_command2 = True > FB2 output V3 > 10, open_command3 = True > FB3 output ... ... ) What I can't seem to figure out is how to tie all this together, I have read through the codesys documentation and if anything it has confused me more! ha. Good morning, I am currently working on implementing a display dimmer. I want the display to dim after X minutes. This works so far. The implementation is done via the Linux subsystem, to which a command is sent to dim the display. However, my problem is resetting the timer when input is received. I want the dimming timer to be reset with each click/touch. Unfortunately, I can't find a suitable solution for this. Are there any ways to do this? Codesys v3.5 SP19 Patch 2

Hi, I'm trying to get Scaling working on my axis. An increment produces 36.6mm of movement, so I want to put the units in application as 36.6. However the docs say that I need to change bHiresMode as it doesn't show me the option for Precision in the User Interface. I'm thinking that I need to change the precision so I can enter decimal places. How can I do this, or is my thinking wrong? Thanks,

I can see the screen from PLC, but i also want to se Input and Output the PLC . I try to scan the network by useing tosibox Gateway but its not working. Where i should looking the problem ? Hi everyone, Had that problem before where I could not create another user but used the method just above and it worked great. My problem now is that I get this message when attempting to logon to the device: invalid user authentication on the target dev5, the new user created is pretty much a copy of the user 'Owner' except for the password. Any idea as to why I am always getting this "invalid user authetication on the target" message ? Using Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 6 + (64 bit) Regards

Hallo zusammen, grundsätzlich sollte ja die Möglichkeit bestehen den Raspberry auch als SPI Slave zu nutzen. Leider habe ich kein entsprechendes Projekt gefunden, bei dem dies der Fall war. Kann mir jemand dabei weiter helfen, wie ich bei Codesys Control for Raspberry , die Konfigurationen für den SPI Slave machen kann? Der Master soll ein Microkontroller sein von einem anderen Gerät sein. Ich arbeite noch mit 4.10.0.0 und einem Raspberry Pi 4 Vielen Dank und liebe Grüße

I had similar assertion failed error messages today. I am fairly new to Codesys. I tried using SFC for the first time, I usually use ST. Anyway I had errors in some of my transitions. I copied and pasted transition code and forgot to change the target of the code. I started getting lots of the assertion errors but now I have sorted out the problems and it compiles OK the assertion error messages seem to have stopped. There do not seem to be any other responses to your post, did you resolve your problem?

Hi All, I'm using codesys on a raspberry PI. I use V3.5 SP18 Patch 2 development system and codesys for raspberry pi 4.8.0.0. Sometimes when I build the project I get error messages C0007: Expression expected instead of ',' and C0032: Cannot convert type 'Unknow type: '!!!'ERROR'!!!" to type 'POINTER TO IoConfigParameter'. I can't click on the message to bring me to the fault. After I do a "Clean all" the build finishes successful. Anyone who can help me with this problem? Thanks! Remco Borghuis

Do you think it is something in this library, that makes it possible to do the configuration in a PRG? https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/IODrvEtherCATDriver/Current/IoDrvEtherCAT.html#id1 I think the codesys modbus libraries support configuration and connection to modbus slaves without having to add the slave devices in the device tree. Just do it from function blocks inside the program. I was hoping for something similar with EtherCAT.

The generic sensor FB is for controlling the sensor via its cyclic input (PDI) and output (PDO). In this case, ifm raw cyclic input and output data are WORDs (16 bits total) The PDO data from the Buerkert unit are SINT (8 bits) In this case, I would use the unpackword fb from the CAA memory library to unpack the valve feed back value into the appropriate location.

I bought and installed SoftMotion Light now. When I try to add a SoftMotion Light Axis to my stepper drive and I go online it shows: "The license is missing or invalid". See picture What am I doing wrong? This is the right way right? First add your EtherCat XML-File from your stepper driver and then add the SoftMotion Light axis right? Thanks for your help esave

Don't set on SVN. The service phase has started in March 2024 and will be discontinued in 2027. We actually use SVN and have to switch to GIT in the future. As I informed, there is no way of getting a single SVN or GIT licence. I' dont understand, why Codesys forces us customers to pay for an expensive Professional Edition paket from year to year using only one part of it! If you find a way to buy a single licence, let me know.

Hi peterned, the start position given in the CNC properties is only used if you use the compile mode OutQueue. With compile mode SMC_CNC_REF, you need to provide the start position in the IEC application. The function block SMC_NCInterpreter has an input piStartPosition. You can initialize it with the output of the forward kinematic transormation FB for your machine. In your case probably SMC_TRAFOF_Gantry2. Best regards, Georg

I don't know the details of jsonArrayWriter, but the common behaviour for an xExecute input is that the FB starts on the trigger that it gets TRUE. In your case xExecute is never FALSE, so it is never triggered again to start the jsonArrayWriter. So change the condition from TRUE to a variable which you set to TRUE with the "xFirst". Then when the jsonArrayWriter is done (xDone), or has an error (xError), then set this variable to FALSE.

Update: I started over. I saved progress at each step. all compiled zero errors, zero warnings. Pre-processor messages remain, but I can make progress. Until I try to re- load the project file in Codesys. Re-loaded files error as above when compiled, even though they compiled error-free immediately before saving. Is my installation borked? (Not easy to re-install due to IT madness...)

Good morning, I think that the mode Simulation does not support the Softmotion functionnality because it runs the CODESYS process with normal priority wich is not a good thing for real-time behavior. If you want to test your PLC project, please use a Codesys Control Softmotion (and your computer must have the Ethercat driver installed) or much easier, download your code into the C6 Smart. BR

Hello, what would be the most efficient way to check whether the file exists or not. I don't want to use file.Open function, it seems like rather inefficiet operaton. I considered GetAttribute function, but this function doesn't accept filename (with path) as an input. Basically I need to check first time when program is loaded to the runtime i.e. when application is started for the first time, whether a file exists on the specific location or not.

Hello. I'm trying to use RecipeManCommands.ReloadRecipes Method for getting recipes from files. When I call the method it does not generate any error but also not reload any recipe to the recipe definition. Actually I have 6 recipe files on the directory PlcLogic. The rest of the methods work creating recipes, saving to file, etc. Does any one have the same issue? it is something to be set on the recipe manager?

Hello, I have a counter that increments an INT value once per minute I want to display this value in Minutes until 60, then Hours/Minutes thereafter on the HMI Codesys V3.5 SP16 I can divide the minutes by 60 to get hours, but then the minutes is still more than 60. Example: a process has run for 350 Minutes. I need to display "5 Hours 50 Minutes" But if it's only been 45 Minutes, I don't want "0 Hours 45 Minutes" , just "45 Minutes"

Using V19 Patch 7 and 4.11.0.0 for Pi 4 Model B, My problem is whenever I change a tag e.g bool from true to false it will change in software but the pin will only go high to low after pressing stop PLC in codesys and same if i want to bring it back to high, have to login start plc change it and stop plc in order to change. any insight ? thanks
