Hi All, Seasons Greetings! I have Codesys V3.5.19 patch 5 installed on a Windows 10 PC. I have received a program which is for Codesys V2.3.9. First I tried to convert it but had many conversion errors. I am wondering if it is possible to install Codesys V2.3.9 on same PC without affecting the V2.5.19 installations. Is this possible? SVN123

Hi Edwin, Thanks for the message. My apologies I should have researched this more thoroughly before posting on here. Hi, I'm creating a program where I need to handle arrays, like: - Declare lenght variable arrays - [array(1..var) of "sometype"]. This is not possible in pure codesys, right? - Know array lenght, min, max, avg values in runtime - append/delete itens in an array - and so on Is there a library know for this in codesys. Is it possible to build our own libraries using some high level language like python or java script?

Hi albert1999 and forest, I hope you are well. I too am wondering if you have found any solutions? Im working with a RPi and a Omron R88D-ETH servo amplifier. The SoftMotion is timing out after 30min without the license, but I cant figure out how to license it, and I seem to have some compatibility issues between my RPi license and any SoftMotion licenses. Did you guys have any luck? Thank you very much for any assistance offered. Toby

Hi geoweil, have you tried to save changed values to remanent area or using a VAR RETAIN? After restart you have to initialize Counter with last remanent value. Depending on changes per cycle and the possibilitiy of your control unit to write remanent storage. Otherwise you need a buffering system to ensure save backup of last PI_Counter value. Hi Has anyone successfully used a Beckhoff EL6652-0010 Ethernet/IP slave terminal through an EK1101 EtherCAT coupler, or similar, and been able to set it up through Codesys? It seems there is no driver for it, and it can't be done? The only option would be to use the Ethernet/IP capability of the controller directly with one of its ethernet ports and a Codesys Ethernet/IP adapter + module and routing it through EtherCAT by tunnelling it through via an EL6614 switchport? Any advice would be appreciated. Billy.

Hello, I have a simple TON timer. It is watching prime loss for a pump. The operator can set the delay via the HMI, it is an integer (seconds) As the TON uses milliseconds, we then multiply the entry by 1000 to get seconds. Seems simple, but... VAR PrimeTimer : TON; primetime : INT; END_VAR PrimeTimer(in:=State>0 AND FlowRate<MinimumFlow,pt:=INT_TO_TIME(primetime *1000)); For an entered 15 seconds (VAR primetime:=15;) the timer reads 49d17h2m26s760ms !!!! What am I doing wrong?

That calculation will not work the way you expect it to. If PumpFillSpeed is limitied to 0-50 then the only whole number would be 50/50 = 1 everything else is 0.0-0.9999... and since you are using word and integer only 50 would work since there is no representation for mantissa in integer values. Declare a temporary real variable and do the calculation and then do a REAL_TO_WORD in the DRV2Speed assignment.

Did anybody have a solution for this problem? I have the same issue and it occured as i wanted to continue work after the weekend. On Friday the simulation was working fine and on Monday thise error appears. There should be a more specific fault description to be honest. As I am writing I try to repair the installation and hope, that this will work. Still I am frustrated, because I don't know where to look for eliminating this fault. I am using CODESYS 3.5 SP19 Patch 5.

Hello, I need to execute "sudo" commands via CoDeSys 3.5 SP 19 P5 using the "SysProcessExecuteCommand2" function. Commands without sudo are no problem, but as soon as sudo is used in a .sh or a single command, it does not work. Command=AllowAll is entered under "SysProcess" in CODESYSControl.cfg. Nevertheless it does not work. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Greetings, Thomas

I'm getting this error on one of my projects. Searching for it I came across this https://www.codesys.com/fileadmin/data/Images/System/Releaseinformation/Patch-Note-CODESYS-Visualization-4300.html which says it was a bug VIS-1394, fixed in Visualization 4.3.0.0. I'm using a previous visu version, what is the cause of this error, and what can be done to work around it?

IEC 61499 is probably something more complex than what you have correctly said so the prospects are interesting but we cannot ignore that it came out almost 20 years ago and has not won many hearts. I started to explore this world with a PLCnext controller because I love these devices based on RT Linux and Codesys is somehow usable with them but I have made little progress and I feel like inside a nutshell in the middle of the sea ;-) Gary's voluminous and precious book is always on my desk...

However, I still cannot install Virtual PLC. I'm currently getting a missing path message: "C:\Program Files\CODESYS 3.5.19.60\CODESYS\CODESYS Virtual Control for Linux SL\Delivery\virtuallinux\VirtualControlAPI.py." It looks as the package: "CODESYS Virtual Control for Linux SL" was not installed. But, there isn't one in CODESYS Store or I'm doing something incorrectly.

It's good that you've found a workaround. But it's bad that you need one. The array length auf my struct is 16. My struct also contains other arrays of structs. It contains a total of 1716 variables. I have tested saving and loading extensively under version 4.3.0.0. It looks good. I couldn’t find any problems. Maybe it helps to reinstall the update (see previous post). Otherwise you could try my test project (first post). This should work with version 4.3.0.0.

I have a problem with the file transfer library. Namely, it does not work via the codesys server. (error 5; overtime, and visualization resets). They operate mostly in local chains. I tested different browsers and VPN from the router. It works everywhere, except through access from the codesys automation server. The client, having many machines under one account, prefers to keep it that way rather than use an individual VPN just to download a backup. Does anyone have an idea what the problem is? Sylwester M.

Dear reader, I am using the codesys JSON utilities SL, 1.9.0.0 library. And then specifically the FB JSONBuilder. I need to create a main object with at least 2 objects in it. The first object is no problem, but I cannot insert the second object into the main object. See attached my code and the result I get. Hi, With the new Runtime Based User Management, is there any way for WebVisu clients to be logged in to a default user automatically - no login prompt? I would like for the default user to be able to perform normal operation of the machine, without logging in to the WebVisu. This is possible with the Legacy User Management. For the Runtime based user management, there seems to be a default user for the TargetVisu - but not for the WebVisu. -Bjarne

Hi All, I'm using codesys on a raspberry PI. I use V3.5 SP18 Patch 2 development system and codesys for raspberry pi 4.8.0.0. Sometimes when I build the project I get error messages C0007: Expression expected instead of ',' and C0032: Cannot convert type 'Unknow type: '!!!'ERROR'!!!" to type 'POINTER TO IoConfigParameter'. I can't click on the message to bring me to the fault. After I do a "Clean all" the build finishes successful. Anyone who can help me with this problem? Thanks! Remco Borghuis

I'm installed the CODESYS Control for Linux SL package and am trying to use the Extension API to call a simple C function. When I get to the step to run "make all" on the Linux machine, I get the error: build interface header: out/CmpFirstTestItf.h from CmpFirstTestItf.m4 ERROR: This functionname does not contain _cext (this is mandatory, see help for details): DEF_API(void',CDECL',external_struct__fb_init',(external_struct_fb_init_struct *p)',1,0x1F77E075,0x00000001) Why does "Generate Runtime System Files" create a function that does not have cext in the name? What am I missing?

your are sending as a WSTRING which is UTF16, but your receiver is interpriting as UTF8. Change the receiver to use UTF16, or better change your sender to convert to UTF8. thank you for pointing me to this "bug"!! I haven't recognized, the bit is reset after the first alarm is gone. I use this only for warnings, so it's not a drama, but was not correct in the past. I solved it now simply stupid by counting up a variable every time an alarm appears and decreasing it if an alarm is gone. The "warning lamp" is activated by checking the counter is > 0 The nice side effect, i'm able to show the number of active alarms in the state line now.
