Hi, I am using a PCAN mini CAN board which has the Windows drivers installed on the target PLC. PCAN board can be seen in device manager. However, I am getting "No CAN driver found" error. I have read the post https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/CODESYS-V2/thread/44aae19318/ and have uncommented the CmpPCANBasicDrv driver in the CodesysControl.cfg file in development PC and have copied it to the target PC. Current CodesysControl.cfg file attached. Is there anything else I am missing? Regards

You will need a USB to RS485 converter to connect the PC to the Modbus RTU Slave Device. In Windows this converter will be recognized as Serial COM poort (e.g. COM2, or COM3, see the windows device manager to find this out). Select this port in your CODESYS application. On the PC you need to use the CODESYS Control Win (SoftPLC) to run your application. It will not work in simulation mode, because then the Modbus Communication will not be activated.

When using the FileOpenSave dialog and using the Visu_FbFileListProvider FB as an In/Output I could not manage to detect the difference of pressing the "Load" button on the dialog vs. pressing the "Cancel" button. In both cases, the selected file is updated if the dialog is closed when checking using the Visu_FbFileListProvider.GetSelectedFileName() command. How can I prevent reading or writing of a file when the "Cancel" button was pressed?

Hi! Do anybody know how I can add and enable the parameter 'Default Modbus TCP slave' on a device? I am currently writing a program where the PLC shall be set up as a Modbus TCP client, but I dont know how to add parameters to devices in codesys. I'm pretty new to the codesys environment. The picture in the attachment is on a similar PLC project where I have not written the code. my goal is to add this parameter in another project.

Hello? I have a problem with datasource... I am trying to connect to a OPCUA server. I create a datasource, but I can not login into it. I need to use login credentials to login... Everything works fine in UAExpert, but in codesys I cant seem to get in properly using the login credentials... I have tried to configure the datasource initializer but seem to keep failing... Do I need to call it somewhere ? Will the find endpoints work with this configured to store my password ? !

I have created a few tabs in my visualizations to configure the program behavior, I'd like to be able to hide some of them if the related option in the main tab has been disabled. I found out what I was doing wrong. I was entering the wrong IP in the gateway. I found that I have to enter the RPi's IP in the gateway field from this post https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/01703ca970/#d9f6 But I do not understand why it has to be the RPi's IP. Could anyone help me in clarifying this?

Hey also ich soll mit CodeSys 3.5 ein Modell erstellen, welches ich dann später mit einem bestehenden Modell in Simit anbinden kann. In CodeSys steht das Modell mehr oder weniger und ich wollte jetzt mal ausprobieren, ob ich die beiden Modelle miteinander koppeln kann. Übern einen OPC UA Server hat das auch alles geklappt. Allerdings hängt es jetzt an den globalen Variablen. Wie gehe ich da am besten vor? Soll ich die Variablen in CodeSys anpassen oder gibt es da einen Trick? Vielen Dank schon einmal im Voraus!

Despite working on it for days, I haven't achieved any results. I followed the necessary steps one by one as mentioned in the file you sent, but there hasn't been the slightest change. I couldn't find the step you mentioned "Set the 'Can Board Type' to PCAN USB" in the Word document. There is no such setting anywhere I looked. Is there a more detailed explanation available, or can you explain it in more detail? What am I missing?

Pretty sure I know the answer, but thought I would ask just in case. Is there a way to set variables declared in a POU to private so that they can not be accessed from other POUs. I tried using the library pragma, but that just stops the variables being displayed in the selection tree. My compiler version is 2.3.9.62 if that's relevant, and I'm using an ABB AC500 V2 PLC. As you suggest I suppose that problem is in drive setting but i do not see any option about increase standstill torque. hello edwin i have did the same and i could connect the opc-ua server but i dont see anything in the resources tree, in the application i linked my variables to the symbol configuration but i dont see that in the uaexpert. if i use the same application with a non linux system i can get those variables values and see the complete tree structure. What could be the problem ?

I have a pressure sensor that measures 0-600 bar and outputs a 0-5V signal, but my PLC reads analog inputs in the 0-10V range and displays a value of 1024 when 10V is applied. In this case, when the sensor outputs 5V at 600 bar, the PLC shows a value of 512. My working range is 0-350 bar, which means the PLC only uses 298 bits in this range, significantly reducing the resolution. What can I do to achieve better resolution within the 0-350 bar range?

Hi All, for my robotics application we are building a 2-axis parallel scara using the kin_bipod_rotary kinematics. hello. After installing the latest version of codesys (3.5.20) from codesys installer, I had a problem. All my devices disappeared. Both PLCs and IO modules and network devices disappeared from my list. I browsed through the Windows files and I can find them in the programdata/codesys/devices folder. The files remain there, but they are not available within codesys (same error in all installed versions) which in this case are 3.5.16 and 3.5.19. Does anyone know how I can reimport or resynchronize my devices folder again? Thanks

What do you mean by continuous movement? You want to continuously follow a dynamic target position? SMC_ControlAxisByPos, which is typically used with CNC Interpolators, could work for that. Instead of feeding the target position in from the Interpolator, feed in the target position from your server instead. However, if faulty EtherCAT cables were the issue, why wouldn't the error occur during normal operation? Why would bad cables only cause problems during a hard shutdown? I don't have the answer to this question. One last question: When you encountered this behavior, did you see a similar error in your logs? i.e, an "AccessViolation" exception in the EtherCAT Task Yes. It was the exeption you can see in attached file.

When you say it does not work, does nothing happen or do you get an error? I have not used this function in codesys but from my past experience with Modbus I believe the coils need to be contiguous, which may be why yours is failing? Have you tried using Write Registers (16) to do the job? Or is their data in-between you do not want to edit in the transaction?

Hello All, Does anyone have experience configuring a PROFIsafe communication between EL6910 (F-Host) and and a F-Device in Codesys? I would expect that the PROFIsafe configuration process would be pretty similar as the FSoE configuration. Although, when an F-Device is included under PN-Controller, Codesys doesn't allocate a PROFIsafe logical device automatically under EL6910, as it happens when a FSoE slave is added under EtherCAT master. I thank anyone in advance who can help me on this.

Dear All, i am using Runtime CODESYS Control Win V3 - X64 Version 3.5.20.40, by using CAA file library (3.5.19.0) seems not fasible to open a file n 'C:\ciao.txt' or others absolute path. The error on File Open is 5114 File Operation Danied.. here below the implemented code and the windows file's properties. I use to implement codesys in RPI and this operation is immediate...
