Hi starmaxou, I’m facing the same issue you mentioned with the dependencies for the CODESYS Control for Linux SL installation. I was able to find the manual downloads for the CODESYS Edge Gateway and CodeMeter, but I’m still stuck on the other two dependencies: CODESYS Control SL Extension v4.0.0.0 CODESYS Control SL Deploy Tool v4.10.0.0 Since you’ve encountered the same problem, I’d really appreciate any help or insights you can share on how you were able to resolve it. I got a Wago PFC200V2, running Codesys 3.5.16.40, 100ms scan cycle, consumes about 20ms. It will randomly crash the runtime every 10 minutes to a few hours. We suspect an overloaded ModbusTCP Slave Device, as this is work done by a 3rd party contractor, but we can not find anything in the help files or documentation, that mentions a hard limit on maximum number of clients connections. This PLC currently has 44 client connections to the Slave Device and 29 slaves configured for its own Master Device. Just downloaded stand alone setup, deleted old installer and installed new. Looked up at the installation log - MSI (c) (48:E0) [19:33:49:483]: Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: CODESYS Installer. Product Version: 2.4.0.3545. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: CODESYS GmbH. Installation success or error status: 0. Installer still not running EDIT: It's working. Somehow my Windows Event Log service was disabled. I restarted the service and everything is working fine right now. Click the Start Menu or (Windows key + R) Type services.msc into the search field (Enter) Open the Services app Find a service you want to disable/enable (Windows Event Log), and double click Click Start

so from what i've learned. Codesys OPCUA Server can only provide OPC UA Methods, when they are created in an XML Model beforehand. So you have to create the XML Model with OPC UA Methods. Then load that model into codesys and create the IEC Blocks. This is automated Code and will create all the variables and Methods from your XML Model. Then they will be displayed on discovery with an OPC UA Client. As far as I understood. There is no way for Methods to be shown in OPC UA when not using an external XML Informationmodel. Codesys can not yet create the informationmodel on itself. Regards

Hi, sorry for the late reply. After some investigation, the read-only error was being triggered by a FAT-fs filesystem panic on the kernel end, probably caused by unfinished write/reads causing corruption. I found this thread https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Engineering/thread/e637d252b7/ which seems to give a solution of using SysProcess to send the 'sync' command to the console immediately following a write to prevent issues if power is lost or, in my case, if the unit is harshly power cycled. Indeed this seems to resolve the issue bar the worst possible edge cases.

Hello everyone, I'm currently using CODESYS v3.5 SP10 on Windows 11, and I've noticed that syntax errors are not automatically underlined in red as they normally should be. Is there a specific setting that needs to be enabled for this feature to work? If so, could you please let me know where to find it? I’ve already tried uninstalling and reinstalling CODESYS, but that didn’t resolve the issue. Also, i have a teammate who have exactly the same computer as me and he didnt encounter any issue. Hi All, I have problem with ModbusFB.ClientSerial. I'm using 4 different port for Modbus communication. After some time of running program ClientSerial stops to receive data to reply buffer and all request finish with Reply Timeout. The Device sent reply correctly,that it is visible on oscilloscope and it is possible to see that data( reply )are in the device. If the usbtty device is read over external app. then it is possible to see all data which were not taken by ModbusFB.ClientSerial. The stack does not overflow or something , program runs correctly forward and no exceptions or something. The main problem it is that when the error occur than it is not possible to reset port or something or maybe i'm doing it wrong way. please help me with this issue. Hi, this is a bug in CODESYS Softmotion. Due to this bug the size is limited to a maximum of 32767 elements. However, we recommend to use way smaller buffer sizes. You could use a small buffer (it should be big enough so that it does not run empty when the interpolator processes the elements). In the beginning you fill the buffer in PLC_PRG until it is full. Afterwards, you start the interpolator. The interpolator processes the elements and removes them as soon as it travels past them. In PLC_PRG you check whether new elements can be stored in the buffer (NOT QUEUE.bFull). If the buffer has space, you generate the next elements and add them to the buffer (SMC_AppendObj()). I hope this helps you.

I'm a fan of the analog indicators from ISA101. To recreate these, I use a number of rectangles that are dynamically sized and colored based on the input configuration. To keep it standard and easy, everything is built around 100px height. Then when instantiated in a frame, it can be resized as needed with the math remaining the same. The math logic is in a METHOD called by the rear most rectangle. These indicators do not use a "filling" bar graph, rather a fixed bar graph with a carrot to track the current value.

Hello, I'm playing around with a single axis. I've setup scaling and set the drive to move 360 degrees in the commissioning tab. The axis does move 360 degrees, but it moves much slower than the 360 degrees per second that I set for the velocity. It seems to be about 3 times slower (taking about 3 seconds instead of 1). This is despite the set and actual velocity both being displayed as 360. The acceleration, deceleration and jerk are all set to very high values. I'm just running this on my PC, using demo mode (no license purchased yet). I've attached a video showing the problem. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks

Sorry - I should have posted this in the German-Froum... Hallo zusammen, ich bin dabei mit MQTT_Client_SL eine verschlüsselte Verbindung zu einem MQTT-Broker (mosquitto) aufzubauen. Das funktioniert auch. Jetzt möchte ich das Zertifikat vom Broker verifizieren, ähnlich wie das auch bei dem Programm "MQTT Explorer" möglich ist (dort funktioniert es). D.h. ich möchte das über das Zertifikat der CA verifizieren, dass ich mit dem Client verbunden bin. Kann mir da jemand Hilfe geben was ich dazu machen muss? Ich vermute mal, dass ich dazu NBS.TLSContext verwenden muss und habe dazu auch einiges gelesen, konnte es aber bei mir nicht ans Laufen bringen. Wie bringe ich dem Client bei, über NBS.TLSContext das richtige CA-Zertifikat für die Verifikation zu verwenden? Kann mir da jemand bitte helfen? Dankeschön :-)

As far as I remember, the Reconfigure functionality doesn't work for Modbus devices. But... Each Modbus device in your device tree has a name. You can set the property "Enable" of this device to FALSE to stop communicating with it. So if one of your Modbus Slave devices name is "MbSlave1" in the device tree, then in your code you can set the Enable to FALSE to let it stop communicating: MbSlave1.Enable := FALSE; Please let us know if this worked on your controller with your application and your CODESYS version. Hi, I’m currently managing over 50 PLCs running Codesys version 3.5.18.60. At seemingly random intervals, some of these devices experience a failure where: All persistent variables are lost. Attempting to log in results in the message: “The application does not exist on device. Do you want to create it and proceed with download?” The log shows: “Loading retain-data/bootproject failed.” From what I’ve gathered, this may be due to a corrupted persistent data file, but I’m not entirely sure how to confirm or resolve this issue. If anyone has encountered something similar or has suggestions for troubleshooting or preventing this, I would greatly appreciate your input. Best regards

I got this code working again. 3S/CoDeSys, your level of obfuscation and lack of documentation turns a simple task into a monumental complex challenge. The issue was that at some point the IecVarAccessLibrary changed and no longer allowed using IBaseTreeNode to retrieve a child or the number of children. The attached code has been updated to use IIecVarAccess6.VarAccBrowseGetChildByIndex instead. The code was also cleaned up but is still a work in progress. The current example only works one layer deep. This means native data types, arrays, and single-layer structures are supported. However, structure arrays and nested structures are not yet supported.

Trying to communicate (from Europe) with/to a unit located in china, the communication seems blocked/stopped. The edge gateway is installed in a linux environment and was possible to link to my Automation server account using the "Automation service tool". However it seems the unit cannot communicate with the Automation server (a Network scan will give the message "Gateway not connected"). (I have tested the eq. setup with units locally which works.) Anyone having experience situation similar to this and if its possible to make this work? Will a VPN be needed possibly? Other tips?

Hi Everyone, As we didn't have client for IEC - 104 - only server server is available , so because of that we are trying to make establish the communication between the external simulator as a Client and codesys itself as a server. We are looking for the variable behavior from CODESYS has to change according to the message triggered by the CLIENT (we are using simulator Application like Redisant). We are able to see the log data as the status of triggering the SCS from Client received to the Log data of the codesys device(attached screen shot of it) and in simulator panel we had set the details to trigger the data from Redisant to Codesys. Current Status: The project builds and runs successfully, but I need guidance on how to connect this to an external IEC-104 simulator for testing and visualization by using demo mode.

Good afternoon, After changing the security settings to: CommunicationPolicy: POLICY_BASICSHA256SHA256 CommunicationMode: ALL Activation: Activated UserAuthentication: ENABLED Then generate a new certificate on the device for the OPC-UA server from Security Agent->Device->OPC UA Server. Restart the runtime using tools->Update Raspberry Pi->Stop->Start for the changes to take effect. It may take a minute for the runtime to start. Initiate the connection from the UA server side. You should see a pop-up asking you to trust the certificate. Click on the button 'Trust Server Certificate'. Next, you should see a certificate in the quarantined folder of the security agent in CODESYS. Click and drag this from quarantined to trusted and then try connecting from UA expert to the device. These steps worked for me and my setup and I hope they can help you!

I am using the object SMC_GEOINFO to generate a trajectory and move a system accordingly using the SMC_INTERPOLATOR function block similar to the sample project CNC10_DynamicPath.project. According to the documentation, the movement type INITPOS does not require a start position in the SMC_GEOINFO object, which is confirmed in the documentation of the SMC_GEOINFO object. When using the movement type INITPOS however, the motion will still start from the starting point defined in the SMC_GEOINFO object (0,0,0 if not specified otherwise). Does someone know how to resolve this or is there an example project that makes use of the INITPOS movement type without specifying the starting point? Thanks in advance!

Wanted to play a bit with a raspberry Pi 4 Model B HW 1.5 and Codesys. Regardless of the image (tried 32bit / 64bit version from Raspberry Pi Imager) and with all tested Codesys Control versions (4.2.0, 4.8.0, 4.10.0) and regardless if single core / multicore / 64 bit variant, always is the runtime stopped after about 30sec with the nice message: ooops... this runtime was built for RASPBERRYPI. Hardware version or firmware version not supported! (-7, 0x00000BB8, 0xFFFFFFFB) Whats wrong with it?!?!? I read a lot about the issue in topics from 2020-2021 but it always was stated with new Codesys control version issue will be fixed (4.4 for example) but still it is there.

Hi everyone, so a little update to this, I've come back to this project in the new year, and got it working. Yeah!, However, now with the new licensing setup, I need a new SoftMotion license, but it doesn't seem to be compatible with the previous Raspberry Pi SL license. Has anyone had any luck with Raspberry Pi and SoftMotion_Lite? Specifically the licensing of such? My customers new installation needs to be rebooted every 30min which is causing headaches! Another option is to not use the SoftMotion function blocks, and control the EtherCat amplifier directly, but I'm not sure how to do so. Does anyone have a specific example project of how to control a servo without the use of the SoftMotion function blocks? Thanks everyone for any assistance rendered. It's very much appreciated! Toby
