Post by dhumphries on Execution Order of Function Blocks CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Function blocks in a SFC are executed left to right, top to bottom, instructions in ST are executed from left to right top to bottom as well. I think you are asking about the execution of POUs although you use the name function block, I believe POUs are executed in the order they are shown under the main task.

Post by stuartjr on Disabling forcing of specific variables CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
So I think I've found a way to do what I want, but its a not as simple as I thought it would be. Essentially I've got to put my "logic" that decides what the GVL variable should be at the start of every task (rung 1). Then regardless of what the force is the variable will be set to what the logic decides.

Post by hismoon on Prüfen ob Datei existiert wenn nicht neu erstellen CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Sonst passieren schlimme Dinge.

Here I have attached the task monitor data. What is very weird is that I am using MC__MoveDirectAbsolute FB, when I choose Vel/ACC/Jerk Factor to 1.0 it run fine. It ran 10 hours without the issue. But I get the error randomly when I use factor as 0.5

Post by adamrobotic on llcallback() iec exception caught cmpid=0x00000002, eventid=0x00010008 CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi All, Recently I have been experiencing a issue in CodeSys SP16 Patch 3, with a exception which comes up after I have made several online changes. callcallback() iec exception caught cmpid=0x00000002, eventid=0x00010008, after I experience this fault then I receive a error message for any subsequent online change "online change failed, no task gap within 10000ms". To recover either the controller needs a orgin reset, which will allow online edits thereafter until falling back into the loop. I am using a TURCK TX707 product which is controlling robot trajectory, We have hard coded the coordinate data rather than using persistence variables so hence the need to do online changes consistently. I have read on the forum other people have experienced similar issue with the online task gap, but I have no task which have same priority and also monitored the CPU usage and have not seen it go above 13%. Anyones help would be much appreciated, thankyou.

Post by razebones on sdo read write codesys 3.5 CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
ENG For some reason, I can't bind a variable to the data parameter. Also, why does only the sdo_read4 function work for me? I also can't write through sdo_write4. I can only view the received values via sdo_read4. Please help me with this task. Moreover, I tried to write the values through sdo write 4 and for a while the data stopped being written and I overwritten it manually and sdo read4 started working again and at the same time they do not want to work in the main task.

Post by installwhat on Initialization of POUs (FB_Init) CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi I was wondering if there's a pattern I can employ to acheive what you're doing but with a "reference to" and also allowing for online changes? Someone told me that the new beckhoff keeps references safe during online changes but all the documentation I've found suggests that's not the case. The easiest thing is to use fb_init for normal vars and pointers and references can be added in the function body every cycle and this allows for method calls after so far as I can tell.

Post by mubeta on Strange problem with the ‘MC_SetPosition’ function CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
No errors in any condition. The function terminate correctly with the 'done' bit. Now I leave the machine and I don't know when I will be there again. The assumption you made I had considered. The operational limits of the axis are all fit for purpose, and this function should operate virtually without even noticing the motion limits. In fact in practice with the axis at low speed the function corrects any numerical value of the position in the range 0 ... 360° without any problem whatsoever in a single PLC scan cycle.

Hi Trusty-Squire, just seen you post , thanks for the reply. I was out on site the other day as it had done it again and changed a few things like cycle time etc. plc load is only 7% at its highest. I took a few screenshots while i was there to add to this post. its been up for about a week now but seems to happen at random every couple of weeks. fingers crossed!

Post by wehling-h on PI Input value CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi geoweil, have you tried to save changed values to remanent area or using a VAR RETAIN? After restart you have to initialize Counter with last remanent value. Depending on changes per cycle and the possibilitiy of your control unit to write remanent storage. Otherwise you need a buffering system to ensure save backup of last PI_Counter value. May you could read this Thread to get further help: https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Engineering/thread/31e1c8349e/#bf48

Post by sturmghost on Visualization using methods and cyclic ST-calls CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I found a way to do it: You can use, for example, the text variable property of any visualization element and call a function in it. Example: Write a test POU as a function (FUN), like MyTestFun which need a boolean Variable as an input value. Now write into the text variable property: MyTestFun(bBooleanValue) Thats it. The function is called at each visu_task cycle.

Post by alimans on High Cycle Times for SoftMotion_PlanningTask when using AxisGroup CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi Manuknecht, Did you manage to solve the problem? I’m facing the same issue with Windows RTE SoftMotion — it works fine as long as nothing else is open in Windows, but as soon as I start another application, the EtherCAT DC time and max jitter values spike, and then all axes stop. I’ve already sent a support request to CODESYS, but haven’t received a response yet.

Post by risele on dynamic modbus devices CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Have the same issue: I'm making a test setup for modbus devices testing and calibration. One is run for every possible address, and it starts with minimal request: if the device is found, it continue to work with it, otherwise it's set to Disabled temporary. Those state machines are running under FOR cycle, and disabled are just skipped. Every instance have its own timer for not running too frequently and a start delay, so the actual requests are separate in time. I also check not for a single error, but have some timer to allow one-two timeouts. The small program disables and re-enables devices temporary (manually, since i could not iterate over MB devices). VAR Reset:ARRAY[1..GVL_MB.MD_COUNT] OF R_TRIG; i:INT; END_VAR {IF hasconstantvalue(GVL_MB.MD_COUNT, 1, >= )} i:=1; MD_1.Enable:=GVL_MB.MDPortsEnable[i]; Reset[i](CLK:=GVL_MB.MDPortsEnable[i]); MD_1.xReset:=Reset[i].Q; {END_IF} {IF hasconstantvalue(GVL_MB.MD_COUNT, 2, >= )} i:=2; MD_2.Enable:=GVL_MB.MDPortsEnable[i]; Reset[i](CLK:=GVL_MB.MDPortsEnable[i]); MD_2.xReset:=Reset[i].Q; {END_IF} There is also program to re-enable devices periodically. METHOD ScanBus VAR_INPUT END_VAR VAR j:INT; (*block auto scanning if calibration is running for any device since it's data-reach process that should not be interrupted with modbus timeouts *) CalibrationBusy:BOOL:=FALSE; END_VAR CalibrationBusy:=FALSE; FOR j:=1 TO GVL_MB.MD_COUNT DO CalibrationBusy:=CalibrationBusy OR MD_Calibrate.AutoTesters[j].xBusy; END_FOR; IF CalibrationBusy THEN RETURN; END_IF tBusScanSchedule(IN:=(NOT tBusScanSchedule.Q), PT:=tBusScanPeriod); IF (NOT tBusScanDelayer.Q) AND (tBusScanSchedule.Q OR (NOT xFirstScanPerforemed)) THEN xBusScanBusy:=TRUE; MissingCounter:=0; xFirstScanPerforemed:=TRUE; FOR j:=1 TO GVL_MB.MD_COUNT DO (* MD_Calibrate is main calibration program. Identifiers - is array of State machines mentioned above Phase_Faulted is a state of Identifiers where I'm sure device is missing on the bus *) IF MD_Calibrate.Identifiers[j].state=eStateMDIdentifier.Phase_Faulted THEN MD_Calibrate.Identifiers[j].Rescan(); MissingCounter:=MissingCounter+1; END_IF END_FOR END_IF tBusScanPauser(IN:=tBusScanDelayer.Q AND (MissingCounter>0),PT:=tBusScanDelay*MissingCounter); xBusScanBusy:=tBusScanPauser.Q; xFirstScanPerforemed:=xFirstScanPerforemed OR tBusScanPauser.ET>=tBusScanPauser.PT; Also the GUI have buttons for each address possible that re-enables the device if required.

Post by jonasz on Deploy LicenseServer for Linux SL CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
So here's how: I manually installed the following packages: codemeter-lite_8.30.6885.501_amd64.deb codesyslicenseserver_licenseserver_4.18.0.0_all.deb codesyswbmbase_wbmbase_4.18.0.0_all.deb codesyswbmlicensing_wbmlicensing_4.18.0.0_all.deb Of course, the license server appeared immediately. Trying to install it again using Install in the Deploy tab, the same error appears. Of course, the information that such a server is already installed is also there. Configuring PLC, S_PLC, EDGE, and SAFE_TIMER_PROVIDER went smoothly, and basically everything works. I wrote a simple program for S_PLC. I'm loading the programs into PLC and S_PLC. When loading the program into S_PLC, a message appears stating that there is no connection to the S_PLC controller. Timeout error. Restart the controller, attempt to load, and see the above. After changing the cycle time for S_PLC to 50ms, the problem no longer occurs. My question, besides the difficulty of installation for a new user, is what causes the cycle time for S_PLC to be so long, and how can I fix it?

Post by janderson on Ethercat scan for devices not picking up EL7041 as a softmotion axis CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
it appears that the different revisions have different PDOs. I am currently trying to use the rev25. I have tried to use the rev24 (the device repository entry not from 'scan for devices') and i keep getting 'invalid output mapping' or 'invalid input mapping' in the ethercat log. I cant even get the bus to run from the device description that comes from 'scan for devices'...

Post by albertisa on GPIO Konfiguration auf SK-AM64B CODESYS Forge talk (Post)

Post by vincentger on using ADS1115 CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Any reason the ADS1115 wouldnt work with SP20.1 and Runtime 10.0.0.0 on the Raspberry Pi . Using Bullseye or Buster i run into the same issue: Libary and integration works in general as described above BUT i am seeing "bleeding" between the analog inputs . Specifically consecutive ones: So sometimes the raw from AI1 shows on AI2, AI2 on AI3, .. AI4 on AI1. Even with filtering i cant smoothen that out properly and i feel like something is wrong. Almost like the bus is stumbling over itself, or the request from Codesys to the device.

we use successful for many years the KEB MFI terminal for Profinet, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP,... You'll need a EtherCAT Coupler as "head" from KEB, Kendrion or Berghof. It's all the same board inside: https://www.kebamerica.com/products/ethercat-bus-coupler/ Or the coupler with 16Di/Do integrated: https://www.kebamerica.com/products/ethercat-digital-io-module/ last year I got a EK1100 with EL6731 Profibus treminal runnig. But it was a lot of reverse engineering and thinkering in Codesys and TwinCAT to be done, to get it up, fulfilling my needs. Good luck!

Post by gseidel on Scara3 kinematic robot error CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi aniket-b, this error has nothing to do with the scara3 kinematics, or robotics, or SoftMotion. It means that the EtherCAT bus is not synchronized. The usual cause is that the realtime of the PLC is not sufficient. See https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20SoftMotion/_sm_basic_common_errors.html for details and ways to solve the problem. You can also check the PLC log for additional information about the error. Best regards, Georg

Post by fleaplc on CPU + EtherCAT redundancy CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi all, for a new project I'm looking for a redundant controller with EtherCAT fieldbus I/O. Actually I'm using Beckhoff and it works great! but there's not a solid redundancy yet... Does someone get experience for industrial application (not raspberry) for a redundant Codesys system? If yes please share some info (CPU / OS type, bus, number of managed I/O,... and especially feeling feedback (stability, bugs, performance)... Every suggestion is kindly appreciated!! Fabrizio

Post by mandeepahujaifm on Ethernet/IP 4.6.0 causing exceptions? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I have experienced the same with one of our customers after updating EIP Scanner to 4.6.0.0 and really baffled by it. The core dump simply shows error with ENIPScanner I/O task and on analyzing it says no source code available for 4.6.0.0. Contemplating to go back to 4.5.1 but 4.6.0.0 has some really nice fixes. I guess it don't matter if it crashes anways. Please keep us posted if you find anything.

Post by totorovic on Hard shutdown: no code on device after power on CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
However, if faulty EtherCAT cables were the issue, why wouldn't the error occur during normal operation? Why would bad cables only cause problems during a hard shutdown? I don't have the answer to this question. One last question: When you encountered this behavior, did you see a similar error in your logs? i.e, an "AccessViolation" exception in the EtherCAT Task Yes. It was the exeption you can see in attached file.

Post by sturmghost on Find visualization elements that require a lot of computing time CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I found out that the Codesys simulation mode is not good to measure performance. As soon as I upload the code onto the hardware PLC I can see that my visu-task needs around 60 ms to complete. I'm wondering if there is a possibility to find out which visualization/visualization element takes a lot of computing time? Then I would look for ways to decrease the long computing time.
