Hi, I am trying to build a CI/CD pipeline around our codesys projects. The only entry point if the git url and branch, as we do not put our project file under source control, so we needed to find a way to git clone from the python scripting engine. This is currently how we do this : system.commands["Git", "Clone"].execute( "ProjectLocation=" + project_dir, "ProjectName=" + project_file_name, "RemoteUrl=" + project_git_remote_url, "GitProjectStoragePath=" + project_git_local_dir, ) system.commands["Git", "Checkout", "Branch"].execute( "PrimaryProjectHandle=0", "BranchName=origin/" + project_git_branch ) This works fine, except that, depending on the environment and the project, the "Project Environment" popup gets displayed to suggest for some updates, and waits for a user interaction, even with the "--noUI" flag injected as parameter. I investigated the VersionUpdateFlags, but the problem is that the git clone is an atomic operation that clones and directly opens the generated project without the possibility to inject any updateFlags argument (only used in the ScripProjects.open() function. I also tried to simulate some keyboard events acknowledge the window from script but I did not find the right location for the SendKeys statement, I think before the git clone call is too early and after is too late. So I am wondering if there would be some other way to do that. Is there some more proper scripting api for the git add on ? Is there a global configuration of the VersionUpdateFlags that would allow the popup to be disabled outside from any project context ? Is there some way to automatically acknowledge this kind of messages in a "--noUI" mode ? What do you suggest ? Then press the arrow down, to select the FB_Init (overwrite default implementation). In the VAR_INPUT section of this method, add the variable --> Tag : STRING; Then in the code section of this method add: THIS^.Tag := Tag; // copy initial value to local variable in FB Search Google if you want to know more about FB_Init. Hello That's certainly CiA402. I'll attach a part of the manual for my servos, but the state diagram should be the same at yours. To be sure, get one from your manufacturer. Look at the bits in the StatusWord to see where you are in the diagram, then twiddle the bits in the ControlWord to get you to the next step. Then there are other bits in the StatusWord to tell you 'InPosition' and things like that. From the screenshot, as it mentions only 'PositionProfile' the driver will create the motion profile. So you need to put a target position in here - there should be profile velocity somewhere? Possibly, you need to write these with SDO's? At the minimum, you need to write a value to 0x6081, 0x6083 and 0x6084 (velocity, accel, decel)

But now, the expression Add_EVT_OUT := 0; gives an error: [ERROR] DB_WTP_370: Add_EVT_ACK MSG_TRIGGER_EXT: C0032: Cannot convert type 'BIT' to type 'REFERENCE TO FB_MSG' Naturally... I can write: Add_EVT_OUT := DWORD#0; But is this the correct way? Is there any constant I could use instead, like "NULL"? Or this is totally wrong and to be avoided?

Hello, We are trying to access remotely a PLC (ifm 711S) and a HMI (ifm CR1077). Both are connected to a Teltonika RUT200 router. We establish the connection with OpenVPN Connect and can ping both controllers. We have a laptop that, most of the time, will allow Codesys connection to the controllers, but we have several other computers that are unable to connect, although all of them can ping successfully. We cannot find any difference in the configuration or software installed from one PC to another. If we connect to the router by WIFI, instead of VPN, all the computers work fine. We know that scanning the network will not work over a remote connection, so we input the controller IP directly. Has anyone had a simlar problem and can offer any hint on what to check to meke the connection run?

Hi, My PLC/controller doesn't support OPC UA, so my current plan to create a ringbuffer/circular logger is to connect a raspberry pi to it, use the Network Variable List receiver and sender and raspberry pi codesys runtime to get the variables to the raspberry pi, after which I will use the pi which DOES support OPC UA to get the variables to a python program which logs the desired variables for a certain amount of time for me, would this work? I don't want to spend 50+ euros + licencing fees for a solution that might not work.

Hi there, Task: dynamical changing the scaling of an bar graph, linear scaling whitout showing the bar only the scaling values and Lines for Main and partial steps. Define 4 Limits for Hi and LO Values with different colors Option 1 : use the bar graph whitout showing the actual bar whitout showing the bar, only the scaling values and lines for main and partial steps. Then what to do with the 4 Limits ? I could use 4 moveable Rectangles with the start and end value fo the areas but then the whoel bargraph must be transparent. Best way would be if only the scale ist possible to show as it is possible for the Meter 180° but this option does not exist for the bargraph. Option 2 : user defined HMTL5 Widgets wich may be some allreay has created or where is a dome for using this kind of html5 widget. The expanse for use html is in my eyes to big and gives more option for errors. Have some one experience in this topic or a hint how to do it the easiest way? Thanks for your help.

Using Codesys 3.5.18.30 I am trying to work with an array of variable length in one dimension, but known in the other dimension. For example, using an array that represents a list of items, each with an attribute profile. I do not know how many items will be in the list, but I know that every item has 5 attributes, like size, weight, etc. Codesys does not seem to be able to accept this. I have referenced Data Type: ARRAY OF documentation page, which is not explicit if variable & fixed length array dimensions can be mixed. In the VAR_IN_OUT scope, I initially tried MY_ARRAY : ARRAY [*, *] OF REAL; which was no problem, of course. I then modified it to MY_ARRAY : ARRAY [*, 1..5] OF REAL; which throws C0006: ', or ]' expected instead of '..' among consequent downstream errors. I then used the Auto Declare -> Array Wizard, which accepted (asterisk)-(asterisk) and 1-5 for 2-dimensional lower and upper bounds. It output: MY_ARRAY: ARRAY[*..*, 1..6] OF INT; which throws the same error stream. What's the deal here? Is this possible?

I have a main PLC with my CODESYS project on, including Web Visu. I also have a second device used for pump monitoring, all of this is displayed on a seperate HMI. I am looking at displaying the pump monitoring HMI on WebVisu so that I can solely use 1 HMI rather than having two. I can project the pump monitoring HMI into Chrome, and log in and it works fine. When I'm using the Web Browser element in Web Visu, enter my URL (device IP) it shows me the web page, but doesn't show me all of it. It uses parts of JavaScript for the login authenticiation and various other widgets. Similarly, I cannot get Youtube or Google to display on WebVisu either (possibily because of the same reason). Does anybody have any tips on how I can display the likes of Youtube or Google onto WebVisu so I can view it on my 7inch HMI (I suspect that if I can get Youtube or Google to work, then I will also be able to get my pump montitoring web page to work too).

Hello, I've been trying to use EoE for communication between a Windows PC and an M753 drive from Control Technique. Despite following some online guides (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/EtherCATStack/4.3.0.0/Ethernet_over_EtherCAT/fld-Ethernet_over_EtherCAT.html) I haven’t had any success. Both are connected to a Debian device where RTE is running: The PC is connected via the Ethernet port. The drive is connected via the EtherCAT port. I'm unable to ping the drive from my Windows PC. Here is my configuration: On Debian: (See attachments 1, 2, 3) enp1s0 = Ethernet port enp2s0 = EtherCAT port tap2 = TAP device IP forwarding and routes are both configured. On Windows: (See attachments 4, 5) On Codesys: (See attachments 6, 7) Version: Windows 11 Debian GNU/Linux 11 Codesys 3.5.17 Control for Linux SL 4.7.0 EtherCAT 4.4.0 With this configuration, I can ping the TAP device, but not the drive (See attachment 8). Could someone explain how to properly configure all these settings? Thank you, GA

Hi everyone. My question about: where I can learn (read or watch) an info about codesys workflow through the system IO libs? I want to know how to implement I/O drivers by my self. In the system libs I see many interfaces, methods etc... But there is no explanation about them, just names of methods and fields of the FBs. I know about this page: https://forge.codesys.com/drv/io-drivers/doc/Generic/ There is so BIG the device description file and not so clear explaining of the attributes and elements, also some elements or attributes missed at it all. Yes, there are code examples on this page, but, so shortly and, for example, code about Modbus drivers is absent. And even if I try to add the IoDrvFB with lib, I get and error, something like: "failed to load IoDrvFB driver". And what about the book of codesys that written by Gary Pratt? Is there information about system libs and drivers in this book more clearly? Thank you :)

With IFM sensors, I used their pre-built function blocks, but with this third-party device, i need to write my own function block. Thankfully, IFM provides a generic sensor-fb so I can write my own FB with "extends" and "super". So far, so good. I found the IODD and some other documentation and I thought I get how it works, but somehow can't really get it to work at all. From my understanding, i need to write data into the PDO-Array. But i get confused with the indices and subindices of IO-Link. I'll append the IODD and some screenshots of my project. There is an AOI for LogicXDesigner, but I can't use that in Codesys. You will need a USB to RS485 converter to connect the PC to the Modbus RTU Slave Device. In Windows this converter will be recognized as Serial COM poort (e.g. COM2, or COM3, see the windows device manager to find this out). Select this port in your CODESYS application. On the PC you need to use the CODESYS Control Win (SoftPLC) to run your application. It will not work in simulation mode, because then the Modbus Communication will not be activated.

I had a similar error "Invalid ERR Ack input". What you need to do is link an variable from the "non-safe" PLC to the Group IOs of the POU in the Safety app. * Add a POU to the SafetyApp (probably already done, otherwise you don't get this error) * Right click on this POU - select properties * Go to the Group IOs tab * Link a variable to the Err.Ackn. input I don't know about the Size of zero, I didn't get this error. Were you able to fix this?

Hello, I am struggling with Edge gateway to the automation server. It is not possible to establish the link. When I create the Edge in codesys and get it to Automation server, it is red, unable to connect. Scan fails. RPi 4B Runtime 4.13.0.0 Edge gateway 4.13.0.0 Codesys 3.5.2.40 Any idea what to chase? I have been using previous versions of edge gateway. Now I updated all to latest versions, failed. Frustrating.
