Hi, sorry for the late reply. After some investigation, the read-only error was being triggered by a FAT-fs filesystem panic on the kernel end, probably caused by unfinished write/reads causing corruption. I found this thread https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Engineering/thread/e637d252b7/ which seems to give a solution of using SysProcess to send the 'sync' command to the console immediately following a write to prevent issues if power is lost or, in my case, if the unit is harshly power cycled. Indeed this seems to resolve the issue bar the worst possible edge cases.

Hi All, I have problem with ModbusFB.ClientSerial. I'm using 4 different port for Modbus communication. After some time of running program ClientSerial stops to receive data to reply buffer and all request finish with Reply Timeout. The Device sent reply correctly,that it is visible on oscilloscope and it is possible to see that data( reply )are in the device. If the usbtty device is read over external app. then it is possible to see all data which were not taken by ModbusFB.ClientSerial. The stack does not overflow or something , program runs correctly forward and no exceptions or something. The main problem it is that when the error occur than it is not possible to reset port or something or maybe i'm doing it wrong way. please help me with this issue. You get an array of DWORD into your receive buffer. You need to process this into usable data, before you can fit it into your DUT. I've made it work using FbWrite_ToIEC_ByRule in stead of Fb_JSON_ParseAndModify. I've attached images of the code. You receive the data into ARRAY[0..1023] OF DWORD. Then you use that array as the input for fbWrite_ToIEC_ByRule. To get the output from this you define a rule to fit the expected data structure including nesting levels. The you feed the rule into FbWrite_ToIEC_ByRule and then you can set the output to be of your DUT type.

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum, and to programming with CodeSys. I am dealing with IoT device for industry and I should check if a device is able to read/write global variables in an EtherNet/IP Master. Since I do not have an EtherNet/IP PLC, I thought of using CodeSys as a softPLC. I created a program with a set of global variables (GVL) and a task that increments them. I would like to know if I need to enable any options so that the global variables can be read by IoT devices. My device supports Class 2 Class (Explicit Messaging Connection) communication. Hello! Opening a project from a python script given at the CODESYS command line does not work for me with a file based storage project. Example: Running projects.open("test.project", primary = True) works but converting the project to a file based storage project and then give the folder name as an argument to project.open Running projects.open("test.fbsproj", primary = True) does not work. We decided to work with file based storage for the project. Is there a scripting API for file-based storage to e.g. convert it while running the script back or how to open file based storage project with projects.open? Thank you! voffi

Thank you for your quick response, I have updated to the 4.17.0 (Virtual control and the license server). Now I am able to see the softcontainer from the Codesys IDE. But when I want to activate the license I get the following message: Licensing info not available. The device does not support this service (See picture). I then tried to active it via the WBM service like you suggested. But when I try this is get an error (see picture for error). I also tried to put RTS- in front of the serial number, but when I try this I get an error that the serial number is not correct. I think I'm getting closer, but I'm not there yet.

In the past, we have routinely used the "add all instance paths" function to automatically add variables to VAR_CONFIG lists. My recollection is that compiling a project did not require VAR_CONFIG to be fully populated, and, once successfully compiled, instance paths could be added. Errors related to missing declarations, if I recall correctly, were thrown when downloading to the PLC, they did not prevent a successful compile. At some point, it stopped working. Missing declarations in a VAR_CONFIG now cause a compile error, so the application is never "current", the only reason I can see being the missing VAR_CONFIG declarations themselves (no other error). We observe the same behavior across all our projects. This is really aggravating, and I must be missing something simple. We use 3.5 SP17p3, 64 bits. Can anyone help?

Hi, Found a nice ramp function in the OSCAT lib (FT_RMP), but is there a nice way to 'set' the output to the current input as form of a reset. The reason for this, is that I want to set up a ramp for a pressure control input that should have x Bar/sec linear rise input. The only option (or code it by hand) I found is this OSCAT FB. Any other options? Just need to increase a value by x Bar/sec from let's say 250Bar (as start) to end 1500Bar. The Oscat ramp will always start at 0 when enable is off (FT_RMP.Rmp := FALSE)

I am also having this issue. It was working fine for the first 2ish months and is now throwing this error. I can just try and go online again a second time and it works. I'm wondering if there is an environmental variable or something that isn't set that is causing it to use an empty path as a temp directory. The empty path will be the location the app is running from which is that path C:\Program Files\CODESYS 3.5.19.50\CODESYS\Common. The permissions don't allow a normal user to write to that directory which causes the error. It also only seems to happen when there are changes or the build has been cleaned.

Dear Forum, We are currently switching to a native Codesys controller, and I'm currently trying to determine the correct license. I have a question regarding the Modbus instances. With the Standard S license this is set to 4 (See picture). In our projects we are using a lot of communications to Modbus servers using a Codesys Controller, for this communication I'm using the ModbusFB library (supplied by 3S) (see picture). In my project I would like to use more than 4 instances of the ClientTCP FB. My question is, is this now capped at 4 possible connections with the standard S license. Or do these function blocks have a different relation with the license? Some clarity on this topic would be very welcome. Thank you in advance

This is almost always related to previously working with an additonal monitor. If you have placed CODESYS on that monitor, later start your laptop again and open CODESYS without that monitor, then Windows still places it in the previous position, but then it is not visible. So the solution by cehermanstad can be used to move it to the main screen to make it visible again. PS, another way to move it, is by pressing SHIFT and then right-click on the icon in the task bar, then select move. You can then move it with the arrow keys or your mouse.

I am tring to use the Web Browser tool, but it doesn't seem to work properly. I put several links in several forms: https://google.com http://google.com/ http://www.google.com http://www.google.com/ http://www.studiojomega.it/ . . . https://192.168.1.101/u-os-app-codesys/application/visualization/webvisu.htm But I obtain always errors; mainly 400 and 404 and in the normal visu this message appears "www.Google.com has refuse the connection". Is the codesys browser able to work as every other browser or has it some limitation? There is some particular precaution to consider when I pass the link to the codesys browser? Hello, We use a controller that comes with a bunch of predefined faults. These faults are considered active and historic. They are a 32 byte array but only take up 26 bytes of data. Because of this the historic faults start at address 26 instead of 31. Active faults variable take up address location 0 to 31. Historic faults variable take up address location 26 to 57. Because of this overlap I get an error that these overlap and it wont allow me to download to my controller. This isn't an issue in 3.5.5.4 but becomes an issue in newer version. Is there a way to turn this off? If I change the address location, the historic faults then become broken without doing some manipulation in the code. The software will build just fine. Hello everyone, I'm currently trying to set up a FileTransfer function from a Webvisu to my Raspberry Pi 5 on Codesys 3.5 SP 19 Patch 6. I went in the files CODESYSControl.cfg and CODESYSControl_User.cfg and added : [CmpWebServerHandlerV3] AllowFileTransferServices=1 And it seems to be working. However, I cannot access my several Webvisu without putting my login. That's a problem because one of my webvisu is in kiosk mode on the raspberry itself and there is nokeyboard attached, it's just an information screen, but I can't view it. Is there a wey to enable the File Transfer without requiring to login ? Thank you for your time

Hello, we are porting a CNC project from codesys 3.5.16 to codesys 3.5.19. The project has lots of CNC programs with variables. now we get hundreds of messages like this. [WARNING] CNC Test SP19: TestCNC SPS: PLC Logic: Application: C0564: A reference to uninitialized variable varCNC is used for initialization of TestCNC_D. Accessing the uninitialized variable may result in unexpected behavior. The objects program_name_D are implicit generated by codesys. I see no way to generated them after the variables. Is there a way to correct the initialization order? We know how to suppress this warning. But we need a clean solution as the warning already saved us in a other nonCNC project. Attached a small demo of the problem.

I'm trying to determine which Codesys Control license I need, the Control Standard S has all the features I think I'll need, but the code size is limited to 3mb, I created a simple program with only 1 line of ladder logic and a simple visualization with a button and an indicator. When I generate code I get some messages, one indicates that the total allocated memory size for code and data is 2.1mb. Is this metric the correct size of the code? I question the size because it exceeds the allowable code size for the Basic S and Basic M licenses and consumes 2/3 of the available memory for the Basic L or Standard S license. What tool can I use to estimate the size of code as it relates to the runtime license limit?

Hello, I am using a Hitachi Micro EHV+ for a small project, and I wanted to have a Web visu, done with Codesys V3.5 SP13 Patch 2. I test the Visu screen and it works well in Codesys, but I get a blank page when i enter the web visu in a browser. Here is the setting under web visualization: Update rate (ms): 5000 (previously set to 2500 also not working) Default communication size: 100000 (previously set to 50000 also not working) Under Visu_Task tab: Priority: 3 The Visu_Task interval is set to 2500ms (previously set to 200ms also not working) I'm using Google chrome with the latest update, the Javascript is enabled with HTML5. Any advice?

16.4 Epis What has it to do with the manufacture? It just a licence more not. So basicly the idee of codesys sucks. 3s acts like its posible to add a license. And then it depence on the manufacturer. Why ?? Its a computer !! has nothing to do with the manufacturer. Most dont what a basic licence because they have to pay for that. 3s is the problem not the manufacture of the hardware. Its like the licence of the raspberry pi. HMI is not working. Sorry you get a refund. Why suggest that its possible wen its not !!. It cost me a lot of time. Who pays my time. Why do i have to pay for somting thats not working.

I had an issue aswell, I was trying to use docker and got stuck on the specific line ' Downloading https://download.microsoft.com/download/9/5/A/95A9616B-7A37-4AF6-BC36-D6EA96C8DAAE/dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe' within install2.sh - which is actually from the https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Winetricks/winetricks/master/src/winetricks, winetricks_selfupdate(). Would love to know if anyone has a known solution. Only other thing I can think is to download winetricks +.net, update the winetricks to point to the downloaded .net? Granted Im not too savy with Docker so I have been struggling on figuring that part out- would love any suggestions!

Hey there, I am pretty new to the codesys space, but I got a codesys control basic M license for my raspberry pi that isntalled with no problem yesterday. Today, I went to install the visualization M locense as well because I went over the variable limit and am getting a "servernotfound" error in codesys when attempting to activate. I also tried to follow the advice in some other threads and install using a license request file on the web interface but am getting a message saying "An internal error occured" when attempting to install the license. Can anyone help me get this up and running? Thanks for your time.

Hello, You use the WAGOUpload tool. You can download it on the download center of WAGO. Make a backup and restore it on the new device. (if can check the remanent data to copy the persistent variables if necessary) You can also use a SD card, go to the WBM copy it the image to the SD card and restart the other controller on the SD card. In the WBM, copy it back to the internal flash. If you contact your local Wago office, they will more than probably help you. There is also a WAGO forum. RP,

Does anybody know how to get a specific text from a text list within a program. Obviously it works in a visualization, but because I will have an HMI that has it's own system and I will have to send variables to this HMI via an OPC UA connection, I need to be able to get a text into a string. I tried using the VisuElems like this, but it only returns an empty "" and nothing else.
