Hi All, I wonder which way is correct or better? I would like to register my own component in order to use it in CMPLog. I can use CMAddComponent() or CMAddComponent2() to do it. The main difference is whether I provide udiCmpId myself or it will be generated by runtime. But I don't know which way is correct. Please look at those two examples below. I don't know if CMAddComponent2() is newer and then should be used? I am in the process of getting a visualization to work with the codesys keyboard. I created a custom keyboard which works fantastic for all input fields in the main visualization. I created a user management for my runtime, which gave me the standard blue login page. The codesys keyboard does not show up when trying to enter the usernam or password. I have tried every setting: changing the keyboard back to the standard codesys keyboard, and changing various settings on the visualization manager with no success. I can only use a physical keyboard connected to the device to enter the password. I did try removing the keyboard to no success either. I even tried creating my own login page so I could guarantee the keyboard showed up. This ended in disaster as I could not figure out the very complicated VisuUserManagement and VisuUserManagementDialog library, and documentation is contradictory or lacking. I imagine that an on screen keyboard is essential for many people's projects when using touchscreen panels, so I am wondering what others are doing. I would rather not use an external virtual keyboard (external to codesys) because this causes its own complications (I am working on a linux build with high securities).

Hi darwin03, when all joints are 0°, then the 6-axis robot is in a so called singularity. This means that it is in a special position where it cannot move freely in all directions but is restricted by its own construction. For a simple example, imagine a scara robot where the arm is fully stretched. In this position it cannot move freely. You can find a lot of information about robot configurations in the www. This excludes also the edge case that one or both of them are in a singularity. 2) PTP movements can move through singularities and cross configurations without problems. 3) SMC_SetKinConfiguration can be used to set the configuration of the axis group. I have found a very interesting solution using: IoConfigTaskMap IoConfigConnectorMap IoConfigChannelMap The first is the list of IO tasks. The second is the connector for each IO module in the IOMap. The third is the individual input or output on the IOMap. One of the properties of the connector is another pointer to a connector, which corresponds with the connector of the EtherCAT slave. Through this information, it is possible to understand to which EtherCAT slave an IO connectormap corresponds. I am attaching an FB that allows for the construction of an IO map and finding the pointer to the actual IOs in the IOMap based on the bitoffset. Hello, We are trying to implement an automated method of adding of a certificate and private key to the Windows certificate store for encrypting CODESYS projects. We want to do this so that users do not have to deal with details of certificates at all and to prevent user error. We are keen on enforcing strong private key protection since it ensures that a password is required for the certificate to be used to decrypt a CODESYS project. When we add a certificate to the certificate store and enable strong key protection using the Microsoft Management Console Certificates snap-in, it works as expected. However, through this method the user may mistakenly not enable strong private key protection. For the certificates we create programmatically (using Microsoft’s Cryptography Next Generation API in .Net 7) bag attributes are added to the certificate and key by the API. These bag attributes are as follows: Bag Attributes localKeyID: 01 00 00 00 subject=C = xx, ST = xxx, O = xxx, OU = xxx, CN = xxx issuer=C = xx, ST = xxx, L = xxx, O = xxx, OU = xxx, CN = xxx -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- [encoded certificate] -----END CERTIFICATE----- After using this certificate with bag attributes to encrypt a CODESYS project, it can’t be decrypted, showing this error: "The specified project could not be loaded. Possible reasons might be: - The project file is corrupted or invalid - The project has been saved with a newer version of the programming system. If this is the case, you can open the project in the corresponding version. Choose "Save as..." with the appropriate storage version, and retry again. - You may not have the necessary permissions to lad the project" We know that the bag attributes are causing the issue because if we manually edit the certificate file to remove them before using the certificate to encrypt a project, the project can be decrypted as expected. However, we are unable to automatically enforce strong key protection using this method. Follow-up: working workaround found (routing TLS outside CODESYS) For anyone finding this thread later with the same problem (a third-party device presenting a self-signed and/or expired certificate that ICertificateVerifier/udiVerificationMode won't let you connect through) - we never got a working fix within NBS itself, but found a practical workaround worth sharing. Approach: run a local TLS-terminating proxy on the same host as the CODESYS runtime, and have CODESYS talk plain, unencrypted TCP to it instead of connecting to the remote device directly over TLS: CODESYS --plain TCP--> 127.0.0.1:<port> --stunnel/TLS--> <remote device>:<port> We used stunnel (client mode), with certificate verification explicitly disabled at that layer (verifyChain = no, verifyPeer = no) - a simple, well-documented one-line option, unlike anything we could get working inside NBS. Running it as a systemd service with Restart=always means it survives reboots and recovers automatically if the proxy or the remote device drops. On the CODESYS side, this required no changes beyond pointing TCP_Client at 127.0.0.1 instead of the device's real IP, and removing the TLSContext/ICertificateVerifier code entirely - the rest of our application-layer logic (framing, checksums, etc.) was completely unaffected, since none of that ever depended on where the TLS termination happened. Confirmed working end-to-end against a real device with an expired self-signed certificate, running on CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL (Linux). We haven't yet set this up on Windows - stunnel does have Windows builds available, so the same general approach should be possible there too, but that combination isn't tested or confirmed by us at this point. Caveat: this only makes sense when the proxy and the CODESYS runtime are on the same trusted host (in our case, both on the same Raspberry Pi) - don't expose the proxy's plaintext side on a reachable network interface, since that would create an unauthenticated plaintext path to the device. The original question - whether there's a supported way to override an ERR_CERT_HAS_EXPIRED/self-signed rejection from within NBS's own TLSContext/ICertificateVerifier - remains open as far as we know. Still happy to hear from anyone who's solved that particular piece, since the workaround above is a practical detour rather than an actual answer to the original question.

Hello, I'm developing a custom HTML5 visualization control (via the HTML5 Control Editor / Tools > Visualization Element Repository) and I'm running into what looks like a target-device limitation when trying to deploy it to CODESYS Control for Linux SL. I'd like to understand whether this is a known/expected limitation or something in my setup. Environment - CODESYS Development System: V3.5.22.0 - Target runtime: CODESYS Control for Linux SL, package version 4.15.0.0 (installed together with CODESYS Edge Gateway for Linux 4.15.0.0) - Visu system libraries (VisuElems, VisuElemsAlarm, VisuInputs, VisuNativeControl, etc.): version 4.7.0.0 - Host OS: Debian RT (minimal/base installation) - We only use WebVisu, not TargetVisu. What I did 1. Built a custom HTML5 control following the official HTML5-API-Examples pattern (.html5control.xml manifest + ElementWrapper.js + CSS), installed it successfully via the HTML5 Control Editor ("Save and Install") into the Visualization Element Repository. 2. In the Visualization Manager, enabled "Support client animations and overlay of native elements" (documented as required for HTML5 controls to work at all). 3. With the project's Device set to CODESYS Control for Linux SL, compiling/downloading fails with: "Overlay is not supported for your target visualization device." (Visualization Manager) Build stops with 1 error, download not possible. Isolating the cause - The Visualization Element Repository confirms the control is correctly installed. - With the project Device set to a Windows-based device, the HTML5 control appears and is enabled in the Toolbox as expected. - With the project Device set to CODESYS Control for Linux SL, the HTML5 control is disabled/missing from the Toolbox entirely, even though it's installed in the repository. This points to the Linux SL device description simply not declaring overlay/HTML5 support, rather than a missing package or Debian-side dependency (WebVisu itself already works fine for standard/native visualization elements on this same target). Questions 1. Does CODESYS Control for Linux SL currently support WebVisu overlay (and therefore custom HTML5 controls)? I found documentation stating overlay support for target visualizations (Windows and Linux) was added starting with CODESYS Development System V3.5.17.0, but that seems to refer to TargetVisu, and our case is WebVisu-only on a Linux runtime. 2. If not currently supported, is this on a roadmap, or is there a different Linux runtime package/edition that does support WebVisu overlay for HTML5 controls? 3. Is there any Linux-side configuration or package needed to enable this (given the check appears to happen against a static device capability declaration rather than a live server check), or is this purely a matter of the device description bundled with the current Control for Linux SL package? Hi @TimvH, As discussed in our email contact, your example does not actually test/reproduce the bug I am describing: Adding to the JSON builder on later cycles works fine. Your example works because you do the following: 1. You finish the first cycle (xFirst) with adding an object to the array with 2 fields; 2. When the next cycle is triggered (xAdd), you immediately start with adding another object to that array. This works fine as the last thing you did before #2 was the addition of the array and an object to it. To reproduce the bug you should be doing the following instead, as I showed with the code I shared with my first post: 1. Create the array - save the index that is returned; 2. Add an item, either a primitive or an object, to the array; 3. Add an item outside the array (anything: a primitive, a new array, a nested object, etc); 4. Add another item to the array using the index you saved at #1. You will now see, as I shared in my initial post, that the second item is placed completely outside the root JSON object. This also happens to anything else you try to add after step #4: everything after this point will be added outside the root JSON object: the JSON is completely broken. Important to note is that this not only happens with arrays, but also with nested JSON objects. Once you add something outside of a nested JSON object, you can no longer add anything to that nested JSON object, as that causes the exact same bug. This also applies to arrays of objects, so if in your test you had tried adding a new key-value pair to the first nested object in your array after you created the second nested object, you would also run into this bug. It seems that the JSONByteArrayWriter (I haven't tested the other writers in the JSON Utilities SL library, so I don't know if they suffer from the same problem) simply does not handle any JSON fields that add brackets (so arrays with "[" & "]" and nested objects with "{" & "}") well, and closes them prematurely instead of checking if any later JSONElements in the JSONData's array belong to any of these bracketed fields. After reviewing the objects & functions of the JSON Utilities SL library, my guess is that either the JSONByteArrayWriter linearly goes through the array of JSONElements in the JSONData and only checks the diParentIndex of each JSONElement in direct ascending order, OR if it does use the JSONElement.GetChildren(); method, that this method is either broken and doesn't give all children correctly to the writer. Neither explains why everything completely breaks, and you cannot even add to the root JSON object anymore, however, so there is probably more than just that going wrong in the writer. To me, after a full week of testing and attempting workarounds, this seems like a bug in the library that needs to be fixed by Codesys, as I cannot see anything wrong in the JSONData constructed by the JSONBuilder - this seems purely a problem in the writer.

Such bash script detect the presence of new .deb files and install them on system. My automation solution don't allow to be maintained by dedicated personal, thus even the CODESYS runtime SW must be installed using an "automatic" procedure instead of using the CODESYS tool. remark I've been using the following procedure since the runtime v4.5 without any issue. Before installing the new runtime packages, I need to copy the file CODESYSControl_User.cfg (here attached) because of new section which is necessary to add in order to allow some folders to be written by CODESYS runtime v4.9 Up to now, this has been unnecessary, this is the main difference between my previos bash file and the new one. remark If I skip this action, everythings goes fine, but my CODESYS application can't work as it needs to access some folders on controller's file system. Hello, we have the same problem here. Our configuration in the following: Codesys V3.5 SP19 running on Exor Exware700Q Profinet network connected on Eth1 IOLink Master Turck TBEN-S2-4IOL version 3.5.9.0 IOLink sensors E+H & Sick (Pressure, T°) We installed the codesys IO link package and have the codesys IO Link SL licence activated (on a dongle) Our problem is the following: we got the IODD files from E+H & Sick we add the devices in the codesys device repository with success They appear in the devices tree under IODD branch We added the TBEN IOLink master under the Profinet IO . The IO link master are ok and display online. The IO-Link SL package datasheet indicate that there would be a way to scan the IOLink device from the network but we did not find any way to trigger this scan. (we expect to get this from a right click on each IO-Link Master module but the only possibility there is "Plug device") When clicking on Plug Device, we get a browse window with profinet IO modules. The IODD devices are not there so we cannot select them. But other devices for other brands are available and can be plugged. Our question are : 1) how do we update the Profinet IO Module catalogue in order to be able to plug the E+H & Sick Sensors that we have to work with? 2) how do we activate the Scan IOLlink device that is supposed to be included in the Codesys IO-link package? 3) where can we find the manual explaining how to use this package?

CODESYS Control for PFC200 4.13.00 CODESYS IIoT Libraries SL 1.11.0.0 Application Based License: CODESYS Control Standard M I have (2) projects with similar code base and both using Wago PFC200. On the second project I am seeing 2 things that I have not been able to resolve: 1) Errors in the log under the Ethernet Item: IoDrvEthernet: [PCI\E1Q51CE62] Could not be found on target! Please check the Ethernet settings. 2) Exception for CPU Load. "Processorload watchdog: plcload=100, maxplcload=95" I have slowed down cyclic tasks on this project, even though on the first project there is actually more code - and it does not exhibit this behavior. In looking at the CPU loading via Linux 'TOP' command there appears to be 20% idle. So plenty of headroom (my opinion). In an effort to troubleshoot I have duplicated the target hardware on my bench. It ran overnight without a CPU load exception. On the test system, I have tried (3) version of the ethernet device. 3.5.16.0 3.5.17.0 and 4.2.0.0 Presently the log does not show the error, but status says the module reports an error. I really do not know if this issue is related to the CPU load exception. The issue does not appear to effect ethernet communications (ModbusTCP or SNMP or Webvisu or PuTTy into Linux Shell). On my test bench I have ModbusTCP slave simulators for all ModbusTCP slaves, but only (1) of the (5) SNMP devices present.

Hello, I am running a CODESYS Control Runtime on a Raspberry Pi. Two CmSticks are connected to the same system: CmStick A - Runtime license - MultiCore license - KNX license CmStick B - Engineering / Developer licenses My goal is: The runtime on the Raspberry Pi shall use CmStick A locally. Licenses from CmStick A shall NOT be provided by the CodeMeter Network Server. Only licenses from CmStick B shall be available to remote network clients. During troubleshooting I observed that the CodeMeter Network Server collects licenses from both CmSticks. The KNX license appears to be local-only, but the runtime and multicore licenses of the same dongle are still visible through the server. I would like to know if a supported configuration exists for the following scenario: One CmStick remains strictly local to the runtime. A second CmStick on the same machine is exported through the CodeMeter Network Server. Questions: Is it possible to exclude a specific CmStick from being exported by the CodeMeter Network Server? Can this be configured via License Access Permissions (ACL), WebAdmin, or another mechanism? Can export rules be applied per CmStick, per Firm Code, or per Product Code? If supported, could you provide a configuration example or a reference to the relevant documentation? The reason for asking is that after removing a separately installed CodeMeter server component and returning to a local-only setup, the runtime licensing behaviour became stable again. Therefore I am looking for the officially supported way to keep the runtime dongle local while still providing engineering licenses from a second dongle over the network. Thank you.

I checked the communication with the Carel controller using a USB-to-RS485 converter connected to my PC, and communication works correctly there. In the status tab, I can see that the Modbus server is polling, but there is no response from the controller. I also tried multiple times swapping A/B lines on the Carel side, but it did not help. Do you have any suggestions on what else I should check?

I have an IFM cr1077 display. I would like to show B&R mapp view on IFM visualization. I used coedsys web browser elemnt for this. I could see IFM working fine in Internet web browser but IFM device shows white screen and freezes. I think there is problem with IFM showing the web browser. Is my understanding of the web visu right? am I doing any mistake here?

Hi, I assume that you have a Pfc200 G2 or something and work with the original WAGO runtime. Then I would recommend the WagoSysDynamicIoMapping. Here in the example projects there is a PDF file for the library: https://downloadcenter.wago.com/learning-material/details/ll0w3pmdunzvem83g1 There is a global functional component in a GVL of the library. I think it's called DynKbusIoManager or something. The active terminals are registered there. Then there are filter Fb's for e.g. the first clamp with a specific article number. Everything is in the PDF.

Hello, I have been using CODESYS for a while and after updating to version 3.5.18.50 the code randomly stops with this fault. Why is that ? I have tried to locate the fault in the Call Stack but I dont know what to do now... I have updated the projects properly for the version I am using. This fault started happening after like 14 days of using the new version of CODESYS.

But I´m wondering whether there is any possibility to represent that value as Text list. It´s quite common in other HMI tools and this is very useful in case of using some ErrorID for detail specification of error. Hi, I have the same problem. However I am using ethernet connection not USB. I can ping the PLC and also connect to it via Wago ethernet settings, but I cannot upload using the Codesys 2.3. My PLC is Wago 750-862. The detailed error is - " connect: Connection refused Write attempt from invalid socket. " Any help would be appreciated.

Hello good morning everyone I would like to ask a question, is it possible to directly connect a device that only contains modbus RTU communication through an R-45 connector, directly to the PC? Or would you need an intermediate device to achieve communication? It would be of great help to me because I cannot achieve communication between the Codesys simulator plc and a Fuji Frenic mini VFD, please help me if anyone has had the same experience.
