Post by mikek10 on HTTP Client TCP Init Error CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, I tried posting in the discussion for the HTTP Client example but perhaps that is not monitored? I have been using http client successfully for approximately 12 months, however in recent weeks I have begun to get TCP_INIT_ERROR when attempting to communicate. The only resolution seems to be power cycling and then the connection begins to work again for a time. I am not aware of any changes to code or libraries between working ok and now. Cold reset does not resolve, only power cycle. It seems the error from NBS.TCP_Client is 6002 which I think is invalid_addr However the address is the same when working and not working?

Post by andrebrandt on FB string and naming CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Thank you so much. This worked. Waht im trying to do here is to automatically tag each sensors, valves and so on. There is a preatty nasty tag system i working on. "_320" is not alloved. I can have a tag "+4f=320.004-RT001V" In codesys I want to build the FB in folders. -4f | --320 | --001 This is the system structure. Inside here is all of the sensors and so on. But with Codesys, I cannot tag this like this. So what I'm trying to do now is to Make a folder for the building "4f" and one for the system "320", and a POU _001. Is there a way in init to get folder names?

Post by e13740e on Сalling the context menu from the keyboard CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello. I have a question for you, perhaps you have an answer to it. Regarding calling the Context menu from the keyboard in Devices, specifically calling the context menu window from the keyboard via an assigned combination. Goal: to have the ability to navigationally add internal Objects (Methods, Properties) to Function Blocks from the keyboard without using the mouse. The Codesys environment interface does not allow Windows access to this via Shift+F10. Externally (outside the Codesys environment), the hotkey call for the context menu (Shift+F10) from the keyboard works in various environments, but at the same time, in Codesys it does not (it doesn't work). I have already tried various options on my own to achieve this (but unsuccessfully): Tools\Customize\Keyboard\Objects (the set combination does not give the desired result) Tools\Customize\Keyboard\Objects... (the set combination is extremely useful as it provides access to adding objects directly to Devices but does not provide the ability to add an internal object (Method/Property) to a Function Block). Thank you in advance for your help!!! P.S. I have already started trying to implement a script-based solution to call the context menu via AutoHotkey - by relocating the mouse cursor to the area of the navigational selection with a subsequent call of the context menu on it and relocating the mouse cursor back to its initial position. And in order not to "reinvent the wheel," I am writing this request to you!!!

Post by wildcard on Modbus Client Request Not Processed CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, does anyone has a solution for this issue. I've the same problem. I've implemented a very simple client based on the Modbus Examples and connected the soft PLC to a Modbus Simulator. PROGRAM ModbusClient VAR initDone : BOOL := FALSE; errorID : ModbusFB.Error; client : ModbusFB.ClientTCP; timeout : UDINT := 500000; replyTimeout : UDINT := 200000; aUINT : ARRAY [0..8] OF UINT; clientRequestReadHoldingRegisters : ModbusFB.ClientRequestReadHoldingRegisters; clientRequestsCnt : UINT := 0; clientRequestsProcessCnt : UINT := 0; ipAddress : ARRAY[0..3] OF BYTE := [10,54,0,72]; END_VAR IF NOT initDone THEN initDone := TRUE; client(aIPaddr:=ipAddress, udiLogOptions:=ModbusFB.LoggingOptions.All); client(xConnect:=TRUE, ); clientRequestReadHoldingRegisters(rClient:=client, udiTimeOut:=timeout, uiUnitId:=1, uiStartItem:=0, uiQuantity:=4, pData:=ADR(aUINT[0]), udiReplyTimeout:=replyTimeout); clientRequestReadHoldingRegisters.xExecute := TRUE; clientRequestsCnt := 0; END_IF clientRequestReadHoldingRegisters(rClient:=client, udiTimeOut:=timeout, uiUnitId:=1, uiStartItem:=0, uiQuantity:=4, pData:=ADR(aUINT[0]), udiReplyTimeout:=replyTimeout, xExecute := TRUE); IF clientRequestReadHoldingRegisters.xError THEN clientRequestsCnt := clientRequestsCnt +1 ; errorID := clientRequestReadHoldingRegisters.eErrorID; END_IF clientRequestReadHoldingRegisters(rClient:=client, udiTimeOut:=timeout, uiUnitId:=1, uiStartItem:=0, uiQuantity:=4, pData:=ADR(aUINT[0]), udiReplyTimeout:=replyTimeout, xExecute := NOT clientRequestReadHoldingRegisters.xExecute); When the system is running I do get the following on the logs: 2024-05-13T10:18:07.443Z: Cmp=MODBUS lib, Class=1, Error=0, Info=0, pszInfo= Client.RequestProcessed ClientRequest,16#0164ADC561A0 unitId=1 fc=ReadHoldingRegisters id=2070 state=Error 2024-05-13T10:18:07.443Z: Cmp=MODBUS lib, Class=1, Error=0, Info=0, pszInfo= ClientRequest,16#0164ADC561A0 unitId=1 fc=ReadHoldingRegisters id=2070 change state Error -> None timestamp=63843421226 2024-05-13T10:18:08.444Z: Cmp=MODBUS lib, Class=1, Error=0, Info=0, pszInfo= ClientRequest,16#0164ADC561A0 unitId=1 fc=ReadHoldingRegisters id=2071 change state None -> Init timestamp=63844421420 2024-05-13T10:18:09.444Z: Cmp=MODBUS lib, Class=1, Error=0, Info=0, pszInfo= ClientRequest,16#0164ADC561A0 unitId=1 fc=ReadHoldingRegisters id=2071 change state Init -> Error timestamp=63845421675 But the errorID is jumping between OK and RequestNotProcessed. Post by ihatemaryfisher on Sorting array of any-sized structure CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
With that I could make an array of varying size, but would still have to define the array type in the function's declaration VAR_IN_OUT stArray: array [*..*] of <pre-defined data type> END_VAR I wanted a function that could take an array of any type (e.g., a structured VAR) as an input. That way I could call it in multiple POUs to handle different arrays structures.

Post by timvh on Specify Input Configuration "OnDialogClosed" Action to only react to certain Dialogs CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
What maybe helps is the Visu Dialog ST demo project: https://store.codesys.com/en/visu-dialog-st.html This has an application IECOpenDialog where dialogs are opened using the VU.FbOpenDialogExtended function blocks. The fbOpenConfigurationDialog call has a reference (interface) to the "close listener" FB of which it's method is automatically called when the dialog is closed. This way you can create specific function blocks for each dialog when it is closed and do what you want with the data that might have been changed.

Post by vformanek on OPCUA Datasource, can not login... CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello? I have a problem with datasource... I am trying to connect to a OPCUA server. I create a datasource, but I can not login into it. I need to use login credentials to login... Everything works fine in UAExpert, but in codesys I cant seem to get in properly using the login credentials... I have tried to configure the datasource initializer but seem to keep failing... Do I need to call it somewhere ? Will the find endpoints work with this configured to store my password ? !

Post by szotyi on Array of Program CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi! What is the proper and the easiest way to call programs through looping of array of programs, or pointer of program? instead of calling the programs one by one: prog1(inputX: 11); prog2(inputY: 12); prog3(inputZ: 13); similar like: VAR programsToCall : ARRAY [1..3] OF PROGRAM; END_VAR programsToCall[1] := prog1(inputX: 11); programsToCall[2] := prog2(inputY: 12); programsToCall[3] := prog3(inputZ: 13); FOR i := 1 TO 3 DO programsToCall[i] (); END_FOR Thanks.

Post by alex-at-xana on EThercat Dynamic configuration CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Ah - forgot another question as it may be related to the PLL problem: I am executing a 4ms cycle. I do not call (from what I know) the Ethercat_MAster periodically in my program. The bus cycle task is set to the Ethercat task. I would assume that the master should send 250 frames per second. Yet, the status of the master says it transmits 500 frames per second which would indicate that the master is called twice. Any ideas there?

CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi MC SL v4.4.0.0 CANopen_Manager 4.2.0.0 I did not call rm directly from my TASK-i2c, it was trough the attached python script. It is not always a problem happens, but sometimes a rm takes a long time. I reduced the amount of calls to logi2c.py but I don't understand why TASK-i2c sometimes can cause problems for TASK-CAN

Post by sturmghost on Visualization using methods and cyclic ST-calls CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I found a way to do it: You can use, for example, the text variable property of any visualization element and call a function in it. Example: Write a test POU as a function (FUN), like MyTestFun which need a boolean Variable as an input value. Now write into the text variable property: MyTestFun(bBooleanValue) Thats it. The function is called at each visu_task cycle.

Post by stuartjr on Disabling forcing of specific variables CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
OK.. so maybe I miss understood for how the forcing order works. It seems that the force list is applied at the beginning of every task call (I'm assuming this based on what I am seeing). If I force my variable FALSE and then write it TRUE in a task, then it stays TRUE for that task, but then in the next task it will go back to FALSE.

Post by schnepper on Error building Extension SDK Linux code CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I'm installed the CODESYS Control for Linux SL package and am trying to use the Extension API to call a simple C function. When I get to the step to run "make all" on the Linux machine, I get the error: build interface header: out/CmpFirstTestItf.h from CmpFirstTestItf.m4 ERROR: This functionname does not contain _cext (this is mandatory, see help for details): DEF_API(void',CDECL',external_struct__fb_init',(external_struct_fb_init_struct *p)',1,0x1F77E075,0x00000001) Why does "Generate Runtime System Files" create a function that does not have cext in the name? What am I missing?

Hello. I'm trying to use RecipeManCommands.ReloadRecipes Method for getting recipes from files. When I call the method it does not generate any error but also not reload any recipe to the recipe definition. Actually I have 6 recipe files on the directory PlcLogic. The rest of the methods work creating recipes, saving to file, etc. Does any one have the same issue? it is something to be set on the recipe manager?

Post by gatewail0 on Digital Clock CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
You can definitely pull the actual system time into CODESYS without too much trouble. Take a look at the SysTimeRtc or SysTime library—both let you read the current date and time from the Raspberry Pi. You can call SysTimeRtcGet() or SysTimeGetTime() in your PLC code and then format the hours, minutes, and seconds into variables that feed your 7-segment visualization. Once you’ve mapped those values, your Visu display will update automatically each cycle. It’s a pretty common approach for clocks in CODESYS, so you should be able to get it working quickly. golf hit

Post by patrik on Application failing to boot after system reboot CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi! I'm having issues with my applications failing to boot up after the hardware getting restarted by the customer. I've attached a picture of the related log lines in the PLC log. I'm running this on a windows server. The version I'm currently running is CoDeSys win V3 x64 3.5.19.50 Is there any way to get more information why it's failing to boot? I've had this issue on several versions of the runtime. I don't think it's version related but I don't know. All I know is that sometimes when the client gets a power outage or something that kills the machine some of my applications fail to boot. Any help is deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Post by cihangur on OpC UA server on Raspberry Pi 64 SL runtime CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
After my tests, I noticed two issues. 1- WinCC disconnects the connection after receiving the GetEndPointResponse message from CoDeSys. (I found it with UAExpert and Wireshark.) 2- It establishes a connection despite waiting for a while on the network with DNS. As a result of this information: I solved the problem by adding the line "193.193.193.150 t9pac" to the C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts file and making Windows accept messages coming from the IP number 193.193.193.150 as coming from t9pac. (t9pac is the name of my PLC running CoDeSys.) If there is a setting that will allow CoDeSys OPC UA to respond to GetEndPointRequest with its IP address, this problem will not occur.

Post by beginner on ERROR: Demo mode for SoftMotion Basic expired. Feature stopped! CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello. Please help me. Sometimes SoftMotion starts in demo mode and stops working after 2 hours. When I check with the license manager, it is recognized normally. I checked the log. After changing online or logging in with a download, the message "**** ERROR: Demo mode for SoftMotion Basic started. Will expire and stop!" was left. Even if you change online or log in with a download, this phenomenon may not occur. Please tell me how to solve this problem. Thank you in advance. Post by ouzago on ERROR C0138: No matching 'FB_Init' method found for instantiation of VisuClientObjectMgr CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
When I created a new project in CODESYS using the "Standard Project" template and then added a Visualization, I was receiving the C0138 error during compilation. This issue persisted even with a new, completely empty project. A Quick and Effective Solution (My Method): After many attempts, I solved the problem as follows: From the File -> New Project menu, I selected the "HMI Project" template directly, instead of the "Standard Project" template. After creating the project with this template, I added my POUs, Tasks, and programs (e.g., Ladder, ST). Using this method, the project compiled successfully without any errors. So, my question is: are there any other solutions besides this method?

Wanted to play a bit with a raspberry Pi 4 Model B HW 1.5 and Codesys. Regardless of the image (tried 32bit / 64bit version from Raspberry Pi Imager) and with all tested Codesys Control versions (4.2.0, 4.8.0, 4.10.0) and regardless if single core / multicore / 64 bit variant, always is the runtime stopped after about 30sec with the nice message: ooops... this runtime was built for RASPBERRYPI. Hardware version or firmware version not supported! (-7, 0x00000BB8, 0xFFFFFFFB) Whats wrong with it?!?!? I read a lot about the issue in topics from 2020-2021 but it always was stated with new Codesys control version issue will be fixed (4.4 for example) but still it is there.

Post by andrax on Save Recipe on Paspberry CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Unfortunately not. The folder does not work. There are neither error messages nor any other indication that this may be due to missing rights. I have searched the entire forum and also tested the Codesys example. The simple recipe management generally does not work! The Raspi crashes with the extended recipe management from the example. I have now found another sample that works. https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Engineering/thread/61c6a04b79/ Many thanks to mcodem. After some trial and error I have found out: xcreate must be called at least once at runtime. After that xload_write and xread_save work All other functions do not work. It is also possible to save to the /home/Documents folder. So it is not due to the rights. It would be nice if Codesys would check where the problem really lies.
