One thing I’ve been seeing recently is that more industrial systems are starting to expose realtime SCADA data through APIs instead of keeping everything isolated inside the local monitoring software. Instead of exporting reports manually or building complicated middleware, APIs allow external systems to access SCADA data directly in realtime. Hi all, I'm working with a CODESYS 3.5 unit test framework on an embedded Linux PLC and running into an issue where a phantom test slot appears in the results that never completes, preventing the full test suite from ever finishing. The symptom: A blank-named test entry appears in the results table with an ever-increasing action count. It stays as "Testing" or "Failing" indefinitely. Because it never closes, bAllFinished never goes TRUE and the final report is never generated. Question: Has anyone seen this kind of phantom slot issue in a CODESYS unit testing setup? Thanks

I've been moving in the same direction. For new libraries, I'm trying to minimize dependencies on APIs that look like they're being phased out unless the documentation explicitly recommends them. For synchronization primitives like CAA.BOLT and CAA.SEMA, I'd love to see an official replacement or abstraction layer that's guaranteed to remain stable across runtimes. That would make library development much cleaner than relying on platform-specific SysLib* implementations or conditional compilation everywhere. Until there's clearer guidance, my approach has been to isolate the locking mechanism behind a small wrapper interface. If CODESYS changes the recommended API in the future, only that wrapper needs to be updated instead of every library that uses it. looks like you are running in a bug in the newest version 4.4.0 of the profinet library or the new library triggers a bug in your code. did you update your profinet device too? you could try to downgrade to an older version of the library. via library manager - placeholders, double click Profinet 4.4.0 in the library column and choose an older version.

Hi, I have a Beckhoff EL6751 EtherCAT / CANopen gateway which fails on the Canbus when the CANopen_Manager is added. Currently no devices are connected to the EL6751. If I add a device, I get the same issue. If I add a device and connect the bus, I get the same issue. Is there something I am doing wrong? Regards Trevor

Is the a way to backups the retrain variables n a csv file? Is still the way to restore them from the csv? Thank you for helping Luca

I've post the Versions in the Attachments. It seems with htop, that there is a very high CPU Load. In the Log I can see nothing, as mentioned above I've to restart the PLC with Power off/on and the log in codesys was deleted. Or what do you mean with plclogger?

It seems as though the browser element doesn't support this and we are trying to replicate an example using the ActivX element with no luck. You can use the (open source) FTP client in Forge. This works on 64 bit systems. See: https://forge.codesys.com/prj/ftp-client/code/HEAD/tree/ As this is open, the idea is that when you use it and make improvements to the source code, that you also commit this in a branch so others can also benefit from it.

After installing this new 4.12.0.0 SL version on my RPi5 8GB and the latest bootloader, the runtime disappeared after 15secs. The bootloader my pi uses is from 2024-06-11. I was able to resolve this issue using this post: https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/be25c0ff66/ The workaround works for me.

Hello Check: on the latest version the location change: If the PLC is started with the "CODESYS Control Win SysTray PLC Control", it runs in the Windows user account "LocalSystem" and therefore the effective working directory is "C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\CODESYS\" or "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\CODESYS\". An administrator account is required to access these folders

At the moment there are some changes on PI OS, which lead to problems with the PI5 an Pi runtime. I would use Arm SL or Arm 64 SL as runtime depending on which OS you have installed. just use the CODESYS Installer and deploy the the Arm runtime.

I had this problem when running the application as a Simulation. When I wrote it to the Pi all worked as expected. If this isn't the case for you, we've seen some issues with sqlite on the Pi's - so reset Origin and re-download may help in that case. Good luck, Mark

Hello just to give more feedback the error I get is "ERROR_UNKNOWN :represents raw value of 5110" in File.DirOpen. The xDone never gets true, and I never get the listing of files (csv files in this case). In the hDir i get the value of 0 for a DWord!?
