thank you very much! I found the generate_code methode, but struggled with the primary and active_application. With this expample I will be able to play around. If the code generation takes a minute or more I often switch to other programs and don't notify the process is finished. So now I'll get an alert and will switch back immediately. My next little project will be, to beep different if there are errors and a seperate script to do the download incl. the user management data base without stopping at the dialogs asking for onlinechange/complete download and overwriting an existing database and as goody, play a beep/sound again.

We've been experiencing an issue through SP18, SP19 and now SP20 where the Persistence Variables do not retain if we upload our program via a Boot Application. If we use the exact same program, and perform a Direct Upload via the Laptop and Ethernet connection, the Persistence Variables work exactly as expected. I have submitted 2 bug support tickets but I haven't had a response back from Codesys. Has anybody experienced the same issues and discovered a workaround? We have a requirement to utilise the Boot Application method because of logistical restrictions of being able to get out to every site, so at the moment it's a bit restriction.

Hi all! I'm trying to learn PLC Programing. Today I was making a simple PLC program, as you can see. When I compile the program without the visualization, there are no errors. However, when I add the visualization and then compile it, I get this error. I don’t know how to solve the problem. I have tried the following solutions: rebooting the PC and updating the software. Open the CODESYS Installer. Create an export file from your current PC from your current version. Then on the other PC Open the installer and install a new version based on the same essentials version, but additionally select the export file which you have created on the first PC. Or just install (import) it within the already existing version. For the installer, you can install it from: https://store.codesys.com/en/codesys-installer.html For help see: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Installer/_inst_install_setups_and_addons.html On PC 1, save the project as projectarchive (which will then include all the libraries and devices). Then extract this projectarchive on PC 2.

We have checked open ports. SSH (22) and HTTP (80) are not reachable. The only open ports are: 502 (Modbus TCP — used for lighting control) 1200 (CODESYS runtime) 1201 (CODESYS runtime) We can connect via Automation Builder using the current IP, but we don't have the original project source — only an empty project. This is why we are afraid of doing a full download, as it would overwrite the running application. Is there any way to change the IP through the CODESYS runtime protocol on ports 1200/1201 without affecting the running program?"

Thank you very much for the quick answer! The RPi hw were delivered last week so it's probably a resent version. I found an old scrapped board (2 years or so) with a broken GPIO that I tested with the same SD card image and with that board Codeys can run for the full 2h demo period without issues. Then I went back the the new board to test the 4.17.0.0 release but the installation fails... [INFORMATION] Standard output: create and install daemon [INFORMATION] Standard output: codesyscontrol started [WARNING] Unable to detect Raspberry Pi Architecture. Setting armv6l as default, you can change this through the settings panel. [INFORMATION] Standard output: codesyscontrol stopped [ERROR] Expected exit value of command failed: expected 0, received 1 [WARNING] Error setting the Raspberry Pi Architecture [ERROR] Error installing codesyscontrol Do you have any idea what could be the reason? Hi after some assistance with an error on a Groov PR2 PLC. We have a few different communications set up as shown below: One Modbus TCP Slave Connection - ( Sending / Receiving Data from a PC ) Two Modbus TCP Master Connection - ( Reading Data from a UPS Panel and Reading Data Gas Chromatograph) One Modbus RTU Slave Connection 485 - (Reading Data from a fire and gas panel) One Modbus RTU Master Connection 485 - (Sending Data to a Telemetry Unit) All Licenses have been installed as per OPTO22 suggestions of the order below: Modbus TCP Master Modbus TCP Slave Modbus RTU Master Modbus RTU Slave When I check on License manager the RTU Master license seems to disappear on installing the RTU. (What ever reason I’ve been told this is “normal”). If I use Device License Read It will successfully read all the licenses correctly. Now the issue is every 2 hours and between 4. For what ever reason the communications seems to end and lock up for about 20 seconds. During this time even if I was logged into the PLC it would kick me off and I’d have to re type the password to enter. Most of the devices can handle this however the RTU flags up a communications failure at the SCADA and is raising alarms every 2 hours and 4 mins. We’ve had multiple people go through the code to check for anything obvious. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello everyone, I have been given the task to develop I/O drivers for a custom made, Linux based board to allow for Codesys applications to run and control the hardware. I have successfully installed Codesys Control SL for ARM/Linux and tested it with a simple demo application. Now I should start interfacing the runtime to the actual hardware; I should be able to interact with 2 RS485 serial ports, a few GPIOs and an I2C port, all of which already have the corresponding /dev/ interface in the Linux system. I am having trouble understanding how it should be approached. I have found sporadic references that fail to lead to a really comprehensive documentation. For example: The store page (https://store.codesys.com/en/codesys-control-for-linux-arm-sl-1.html#options) mentions a "runtime package" that should allow "Integration of existing C code" and "Usage of local I/Os", which seems exactly what I need to interact with custom peripherals. I have found no further reference to Codesys-C interpop. The Codesys Help page for the runtime package has a page on the "Development of Drivers" (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/rtsllinuxrbpdriverdevelopment.html) that suggests to either "Implement a function block" or "Implement I/O drivers". Those in turn lead to this page (https://forge.codesys.com/drv/io-drivers/doc/Generic/) which describes briefly an XML schema to describe new devices; unfortunately, it doesn't mention what to do with such a description (i.e. how does the runtime know about it) or how it is in any way connected to the actual hardware. Could anyone give me some pointers? I should also mention I have no prior experience with Codesys, so maybe I'm missing an obvious answer.

CODESYS Control for PFC200 4.13.00 CODESYS IIoT Libraries SL 1.11.0.0 Application Based License: CODESYS Control Standard M I have (2) projects with similar code base and both using Wago PFC200. On the second project I am seeing 2 things that I have not been able to resolve: 1) Errors in the log under the Ethernet Item: IoDrvEthernet: [PCI\E1Q51CE62] Could not be found on target! Please check the Ethernet settings. 2) Exception for CPU Load. "Processorload watchdog: plcload=100, maxplcload=95" I have slowed down cyclic tasks on this project, even though on the first project there is actually more code - and it does not exhibit this behavior. In looking at the CPU loading via Linux 'TOP' command there appears to be 20% idle. So plenty of headroom (my opinion). In an effort to troubleshoot I have duplicated the target hardware on my bench. It ran overnight without a CPU load exception. On the test system, I have tried (3) version of the ethernet device. 3.5.16.0 3.5.17.0 and 4.2.0.0 Presently the log does not show the error, but status says the module reports an error. I really do not know if this issue is related to the CPU load exception. The issue does not appear to effect ethernet communications (ModbusTCP or SNMP or Webvisu or PuTTy into Linux Shell). On my test bench I have ModbusTCP slave simulators for all ModbusTCP slaves, but only (1) of the (5) SNMP devices present.

Guten Morgen, wie der Titel verrät soll es hier um das Ausrollen der CODESYS Runtime auf einem Raspberry Pi gehen. Ob ein klassischer Raspberry Pi aus dem Consumer-Bereich oder ein Compute-Modul spielt in dem Fall keine Rolle. Ich möchte nur anderen Nutzern Hilfestellung geben, die vielleicht ein vergleichbares Problem haben wie ich: Auf Raspberry Pi lief bei mir eine Anwendung, die mit Lizenzen auf einem CODESYS-Dongle lizenziert waren (Multicore-Support und Softmotion). Nach einem Hardware-Defekt habe ich meinen Rasperry Pi gegen eine robustere Lösung getauscht. Ich wollte auf der neuen Hardware die Runtime ausrollen und habe ständig den Fehler gezeigt bekommen, dass die Target- oder Zielsystem-ID nicht stimmt. Für den Raspberry Pi gibt es ja drei verschiedene Optionen der Runtime: 32bit Singlecore (armv6l) 32bit Multicore (armv7l) 64bit Multicore (aarch64) Entscheidend dafür, ob die 32 oder 64 Bit Runtime benötigt wird ist das auf der dem Raspberry Pi installierte Betriebssystem. In meinem Fall hatte ich durch die neue Hardware auch ein aktuellen Betriebsystem-Image aufgespielt, weshalb sich da der Umstieg von 32 auf 64Bit eingeschlichen hatte. In der Entwicklungsumgebung kann über Tools -> Control SL ausrollen das Fenster geöffnet werden, um die richtige Laufzeitumgebung auf dem Steuerungsrechner zu installieren. Bei kleinen Bildschirmen (bei mir ein 15" Laptop) kann der rechte Bereich "abgeschnitten" und das Dropdown-Menü als solches nicht auf den ersten Blick erkennbar sein. Mein Fehler war, dass ich den Scrollbalken nicht gesehen habe! (Bild im Anhang mit freundlicher Genehmigung von Herrn Heberle vom CoDeSys-Support) Nach dem auswählen der jeweils passenden Version kann die Runtime installiert und das Programm wieder geladen werden. Die Lizenzen sind bei mir wieder korrekt erkannt worden und alles läuft wie vorher (nur mit neuer Hardware). Vielen Dank an der Stelle noch mal an die schnelle Hilfe vom Support. Das hat wirklich top funktioniert.

Since parameterized (indexed) properties are not possible, I decided to use architectural approach "Indexing Property Adapter" to achieve the intended goal — avoiding code duplication for validated access to array elements. Essence: Create a Function Block Adapter (FB_PropertyAdapter) that encapsulates the logic for working with a single element of the target array (e.g., with one settings structure). Declare Properties inside the adapter block for accessing each individual field of the data structure. All validation logic is implemented within the Set accessors of these properties. Data Binding via VAR_IN_OUT: The adapter block receives a reference to a specific data element from the global array through its VAR_IN_OUT section, which ensures direct work with the original data without copying. Create an Array of Adapters: In the parent POU (e.g., FB_SettingsManager), an array of these adapter blocks is created — one for each element of the global array that needs to be managed. Initialize Bindings: In a FOR loop, each adapter instance from the array is given a reference to the corresponding data element. Result: This approach allows accessing the data via the index of the adapter array, and then through the property name, which simulates the behavior of an indexed property: MyAdapterArray[Index].MyProperty Thus, the validation and data access logic is written only once inside the adapter block and is then reused multiple times by creating instances of it in an array. This completely solves the problem of code duplication while providing a clean, scalable, and object-oriented architecture compatible with standard CODESYS features. Question closed.

I have an IFM cr1077 display. I would like to show B&R mapp view on IFM visualization. I used coedsys web browser elemnt for this. I could see IFM working fine in Internet web browser but IFM device shows white screen and freezes. I think there is problem with IFM showing the web browser. Is my understanding of the web visu right? am I doing any mistake here?
