Hello, Please give any tips regarding stopping Mc_GearInPos block. Please look at attached drawings. When fb MC_GearInPos is started, output "busy" is true - it is ok. But when i want to stop this funkction blok i deactive execute input and i use Mc_stop. Unfortunelly Mc_gearInPos is still busy. It lasts till to synchronize phase. Then i can stop it by Mc_stop. So I cannot stop fb before synchrnization. Can you give any tips how solve this problem. Sometimes I must to switch off before synchro. Best regards Lukasz

I would definitely try using the "Reconfigure" function block from "CAA Device Diagnosis@ library. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/CAA%20Device%20Diagnosis/3.5.17.0/CAA-Device-Diagnosis/Function-Blocks/Reconfigure/Reconfigure.html#:~:text=This%20function%20block%20reads%20and,take%20effect. Although I have not tried it with Modbus, I had great success with EtherNet/IP, Profinet and EtherCAT. You can also have a look at the other functions in this library. There are useful functions to help iterate through all the nodes under a master node.

i want to make a frame for use multiple places for showing pressure and temperature. ive tried to decleare a variable in the frame config, if i put a fixed value in the value text field it show correct until i simulate. and if i point to a variable i gvl it show the name of the variable, and when i simulate it shows rValue. is there a way to do what i want?

I have come across this. The only way i could get it to work would be to define a word that is also the same address as the Bools. eg %MX600.0 through to %MX600.15 would be individually defined in the variables and them have another variable word defined at %MW300. You still need to break out the word in what ever program you are using to read/write the OPCUA tags.

Hallo zusammen, ich habe folgendes Problem. Ich möchte mit der Lib Mail_Service_SL ein Mail versenden. Manchmal funktioniert es auch aber nicht zuverlässig. Wenn ich den Funktionsblock sendmail mit den entsprechenden Daten aufrufe bekomme ich die Fehlermeldung CHECK_RESULT_FAILD. Laut Dokumentation sollte im sServerMessage der Grund stehen, dieser ist aber leer. Was kann der Grund hierfür sein? Gibt es eine ander Lib mit der ich Mails versenden kann? Viele Grüße Micky

I still cannot enable persistent manager for my project (and successfully login to a device). Project compiles with no errors but during download/login it fails with the fairly limited message "one or more errors occurred". The only clue I get from the system that this messages is displayed during "Generating code..: relocation pou". Any tips pointing me in a direction how to solve this very much appreciated!

Maybe the easiest solution for you is to add one STRING variable to your recipe and enter the name of the recipe in variable value. This is little bit double the work (naming the recipe and entering the value of the STRING variable), but in that case you always have the current value of the variable which you can read from the application and show in the visualization.

Hi Gatto, Using version 3.5.21.xx, it is no longer possible to use Modbus function blocks (I make extensive use of these FBs.)as shown in the example. https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Examples/_ex_modbus_example.html The compiler detects one Modbus instance for each instance of the communication FB block. The example program above, although simple, reports 8 Modbus instances when compiled with the latest version. Codesys Support says that you must use fieldbus I/O mapping, but this will result in the loss of the ability to programmatically modify communication parameters. Sandro

When you have a deep object structure where not all values are not exposed to OPC UA, the top object will not have a V check mark but be filled fully out. In that case CODESYS do not always registrate changes to inner object. Solution set a V in the checkbox of the top object, build, download. Now you can browse, but all values in the top object will be selected, then you can deselect the ones you don't want, build, download and it works

I got as far as: Then insert this: [SysProcess] BasePriority=Realtime Command=AllowAll devoid of references of where the CodesysContol.cfg file was located or of the need to run codesys as root I incrementally located bits of information with perplexity searches but remained mired at error 25 ERR_NO_ACCESS I am curious whether root access is MANDATORY to run SysProcessExecuteCommand (- and/or any other SysProcess functions) or if a more access-constrained User=quasiroot could suffice without the security concerns ? Apparently codesys runs fine without User=root for almost everything... That raises the question: What IS the default codesys user ? I notice in the prototypes: VAR sCommand : STRING := '/usr/bin/whoami'; sOutput : STRING(255); refCommand : REFERENCE TO STRING; refOutput : REFERENCE TO STRING; resultCmd : UDINT; END_VAR whenever I attempt to build this Codesys v3.5 SP2 whines that "cannot convert type REFERENCE TO STRING to STRING" don't remember the exact message... Apparently this happens whenever a fixed-length string is involved. if I get rid of (255) and just set the string := ' '; that is sufficient to make the compiler happy. Is this a recently enforced constraint ? Why does this compile for you and not for me ? There are references to functions / utilities which are used/needed to massage the string references - but I see no specific details... I also notice you specify: Make sure the lib SysProcessImplementation, SysTypes, and CmpErrors is on the project. I don't comprehend why all of the dependent libraries are not automatically referenced, added ? I don't recall seeing anywhere but here that SysProcessImplementation must be included... An update note. Still using linux/Qemu. Still happy, but sometimes some things are harder. I lost the "bridge" connection to my VM (meaning for instance I couldnt "scan network" and find local units. Have spent tons of hours to find out why. Finally it seems the traffic got blocked by the firewall/iptables so needed to set rules for that. So friendly note that rules must allow forward traffic to/from you configured host bridge device.

I'm trying to firm up alarming of axis faults. Declutter the code and figure out what's what. Diving into it, I see the AXIS_REF_SM3 function block provides uiDriveInterfaceError and dwErrorId, but I can't find any significance of these further than Drive interface error number Parameter number: 1014 and Drive specific error identifier, parameter number: 1031, respectively. Is there some corresponding appendix I could use to decode these? Also, is there any relation to the Error ID (of type SMC_Error) of the MC POUs? MC_Jog, MC_Reset, MC_MoveRelative, etc? If so, are the above errors redundant? Thanks in advance.

Dear Eschwellinger, Thank you for the response. Does that mean that the license-manager inside the Codesys-IDE does not work with this setup anymore? Because when I use this I get the notification that there is no dongle attached to the device (see picture). And If I insert the license by the deploy tool, can I then redeploy the Codesys virtual control container, or does this erase the license completely?

I was trying to use subdevicesCollapsed attribute in device descriptor in order to not expand the subdevices when a new device with subdevices is inserted in the device tree. I use this as follows:<fixed subdevicescollapsed="true">. But it seems it doesn`t work. I am ussing Codesys v3.5 SP16 Patch4. Is anything wrong with this? Or am I mistaken with the use of this attirbute?</fixed>

Frankly, I'd expect a project created with an older version to compile without errors after opening > it with the latest Codesys version and updating all libraries. Yes, that is a reasonable expectation. I tried a few times but could not reproduce the problem. In case you run into the problem again, we can investigate the issue if you send a project archive. Device: RPI 3b or 3B+ System: Wheezy Codesys: 3.5.16.2 I got the Log: 2023-12-13T00:38:43Z, 0x00000054, 2,6,11, !!!! Warning: Eventbuffer full for app=<app>Application</app>; an inputevent with the tag <tag>128</tag> has been dropped This log happens aroud 10 times a second. Sometimes the controller stopped working any more. What is the reason for this? I will update this controller soon (I hope so, but in the meantime I should at least know hoe to prevent this issue) Mario
