Hi everyone, I need some help with displaying an image (test.png) on my device. Initially, showing the image is straightforward. However, I want to be able to update the image dynamically. My goal is to send updated files via FTP to the device, and have the display automatically show the latest version of the image. All images will be sent with the same name (e.g., test.png). Currently, I can see the updated image after sending it via FTP and performing a warm restart, but I'd like to achieve this in runtime, without having to restart the display or application. Does anyone have suggestions on how to implement this? Thanks in advance!

I have a time which I want to modify with a slider. I have confirmed it is possible to set the value of the slider by to_real(time) (I can see that the slider changes according to 'my_time_value's value). Slider variable: to_real(my_time_value); However I fail to access the current slider instance value when I want to write back the value as time (write to a variable will not work as I need a type-conversion before assignment). my_time_value := to_time(slider-instance-value); I tried with this^.? but could not see anything interesting and also THIS^.GEN_Instance.? but nothing resemble what could be the sliders value. Anyone that knows? Thanks!

Hi In the POU section of my project I have created a Fan function block and defined an alarm group template for this FB with one alarm (Motor fault). In the PLC program I define two instances of the fan function block. When going to the alarm configuration and pressing "Create or update alarm instances", I get two alarms listed. So far so good. However, when I start my program and check the alarm table in the visualization I only see one alarm, even if both are active. Am I doing something wrong, or is it not possible to define alarms on a function block level and get one set of alarms per instance of the function block?

hello everyone I would like to try to better understand how persistent variables work. I created some boolean variables in the PersistentVars section initialized to the value TRUE. I have tied these boolean variables to toggle switches placed inside the HMI interface pages. Once the PLC program is started, the lever selectors, if operated, change their state, at least at a graphical level, but the persistent variables do not undergo any variation. Initially the above variables were declared as simple global variables, in this case the operation with the levers was correct; I then tried to transform them into persistent ones with the aim of using them as "settings saver" Thank you for support Bye

I'm a fan of the analog indicators from ISA101. To recreate these, I use a number of rectangles that are dynamically sized and colored based on the input configuration. To keep it standard and easy, everything is built around 100px height. Then when instantiated in a frame, it can be resized as needed with the math remaining the same. The math logic is in a METHOD called by the rear most rectangle. These indicators do not use a "filling" bar graph, rather a fixed bar graph with a carrot to track the current value.

Hello, I’m developing a program and for some reason I got this error: C0193: Name '2,Recipe #2GVL' is no valid identifier I was creating a combo box and creating a TextList for my recipe. I couldn't find where the error was, until in the combo box properties in the 'Text List' property in the options it gives me to select, I found '2,Recipe #2' to be able to select (I never created a list with this name) and I can't find a way to delete that option or I can't find where that list is. I tried to delete the TextLists, delete the combo box, to clean the project, but the error still there. How can I delete this option (2,Recipe #2)? Or how can I fix this error?** Thank you.

you are able to do this all in one screen. It is possible to set the rights of every element to visible but not editable for the user "none". so everyone is able to see this elements, but can't do any changes. At the login button you set the rights to editable for the user "none" to be able to go to the login. Every element that should be hidden before logging in, set the rights visible and editable only for "higher" users. Hint: to change rights you are able to select more then one element and edit rights for all at the same time. Saves a lot of time! Good luck!

Hi, thanks for the link. Maybe I create elements in incorrect way. I always use Interface Editor to create variables which are used inside element (see pics). After that I place element in my visu and use Reference property to link variable or set the value. In that case the value of string is not transferred to general text list for translation as I mentioned before. Do I have to all properties which influence behavior of my element create in Frame configuration instead? What´s the difference to the Interface editor? Thanks a lot. M.

I tried to use your code but couldn't figure out all the details. to enable Listener should it be called once or cyclically? the listener should be called with the intance of FB which you described? should it be this instance to be called cyclically too? I tried to make it simpler, just force the uiYear/uiMonth etc. but couldn't make it work. Could you please share some details how the whole struckture looks like? I am trying to show a PDF in a WebBrowser element. I have the file saved to the drive of the HMI/PLC. I am linking it in the URL parameter of the WebBrowser using the following directory link. 'http://localhost:8080/$$sdcard$$/FileName.pdf'. This allows for the program to download without any errors. When I navigate to that screen it is just a white box and nothing shows. I attempted putting the same link in the show parameter and I get a loading icon on my cursor when monitoring the HMI with my PC. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

This... is not very practical for me - as I have a bunch of different classes - it's just doesn't seems to be very practical to define a NULL for each of them... Something like this I use in parameter definitions. For example: VAR_INPUT refVFD_Drive : REFERENCE TO FB_VFD_Drive := GVL_DUMMY.Dummy_VFD; END_VAR I use this to prepare objects for code I don't control: Typycally visualizations - had many troubles with references set on the fly, right before opening a corresponding visualization... And yes, the instance in GVL_Dummy reports itself as "Fake", so it does not influence the actual application at all. Actually this way I could invalidate a reference, just to set it to a "Dummy" instance.

Trying the web-version of trend-data. This seems to be a impressive tool, but I lack/cant find a number of what I would think are important parts. There does not seem to be a way to get away from the dot.notated variable naming in the legend.. A developer might want the dot-notation but an end-customer will surely not. For instance I want to display 12 temperatures, instead of t1, t2 etc.. they will be named. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_a gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_b gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t1_c gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t2_a .. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t4_b.. gvl_io.unit[1].trend.temps.t4_c.. Quite a lot of unnecessary text/data taking space from the actual trend => Is there a way to access/interface the legend-data programmatically so I can change the presentation/naming?

There seems to have been included an updated in the last release 4.9.0.0 or am I wrong (I think I tried out these settings previously without giving the result I wanted contrary to what I see today)? Now an empty check box for "display variable name" is effective, and will present the Variable with the "Description" instead. Perfect! Seems to be some minor formatting still that needs adjustment. See attached screenshot. The apostrophe "'" between "description" I suppose should not be there? Also I guess the same apostrophe (although not visibly shown) gives an extra space between the variable-description and the ":"?? Thanks!

Sorry for being late to the party... so it is not possible to use the webbrowser tool to display external websites in a visu anymore? As it is not possible to simply "adjust the ContentSecurityPolicyIncludeTrustedOrigins setting in the automatically generated webvisu.cfg.json file" as stated in the docs? We need to display data read from a Raspberry Pi (part of our computer network) in our webvisu. We used to do it by entering the Pi's IP address as the URL variable in the webbrowser element but now (I don't know since when, I'm new on the job) "The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource (frame-src) at 'IP address' because it violates the following directive: “default-src 'self' 'unsafe-inline'”. What are the options for displaying the data?

Two issues. Ive been struggling to get the user management the way I want it. I want to protect the device from unauthorized upload/download, but I do not want login requirement on webvisu. The combination that seems to work is to use "runtime device user management" while keeping the visu user management in "legacy mode"? Initially this seemed to work, but now images are not loaded when using direct access, while they are still shown if I access the webpage via Automation server. Im guessing its connected to the authorization changes? Anyone able to help out? Thanks Also, I read that legacy mode should be avoided, is it possible to use "runtime based visu user management" while keeping direct access to the webpage without login. I have a project with a Festo CPX-E-CEC-C1-PN PLC (Run-time version 3.5.12.50) that I have been developing on just fine using Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 5 (64bit). I am at the stage where I wanted to use the Festo HMI screen, and have added a RemoteTargetVisu object to my application. After adding this object, I am no longer able to log in to the PLC as I get an Unresolved Reference warning for 'USERMGRUSERGETPROPERTY' towards the end of the download process. I was able to find this post (https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Visualization/thread/fc686a6cb2/) where the two possible solutions are to "set the placeholder to emtpy" or update the runtime. Problem is, I don't know how to do either of these things, as I'm still very green in Codesys land. I'd be happy to update the Festo PLC runtime, as that seems like the better option, but have not had any luck in finding a tutorial for this online. If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Hi everyone, I’m developing a custom CODESYS I/O driver for my company’s device, and I’ve been studying the example projects in CODESYS V3.5 SP20 Patch 5. In the IOMappingExample.project, I noticed that EtherCAT devices provide additional configuration tabs in the Device Editor, such as General, Process Data, etc. However, for custom I/O driver examples (based on IoDrv), the Device Editor only shows the default tabs like <devicename> I/O Mapping or <devicename> Parameters.</devicename></devicename> I’d like to create custom tabs or configuration pages in the Device Editor (e.g., “General Settings”, “Communication”, etc.) to allow users to configure parameters in a more structured way. Could anyone explain: How to define and register custom tabs or UI pages in the Device Editor? What tools or SDKs are needed to create UI elements such as combo boxes or check boxes? How to bind those UI controls to device parameters defined in the XML (device description)? Any example, SDK reference, or documentation link would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Also had this problem when working on legacy project. My packege was CODESYS Code Generator ARM 4.0.3.0.package. To manage this I used PackageManagerCLI.exe. This tool does not validate certificates appearently. I managed to find a solution that seems to work reliably. As the VU.Globals.CurrentClient-filter accesses the CURRENTCLIENTID or at least a similar, internal variable it can only be used if called from a certain client (e.g. from a button in a visualization). My solution works by implementing a new client filter that compares the client ID of all clients to the ID of the last client that was used. The variable containing the data of the last client is defined as: G_LastClient : VU.IVisualizationClient; // Copy of last client that detected click This last client is then updated every time a button is pressed using the Execute ST-Code input configuration of the button: G_LastClient := VU.PublicVariables.Clients.Current; Next, I created a function block that implements the client filter interface as so: FUNCTION_BLOCK FB_LastClientFilter IMPLEMENTS VU.IVisualizationClientFilter VAR_INPUT END_VAR VAR_OUTPUT END_VAR VAR END_VAR Then i added a method to the FB called IsAccepted which is used to filter out the client. When creating the method, it should automatically be filled with the according variable declaration, as it is defined in the interface: (* For every client can be desided, if it is accepted. ``TRUE``: Client is accepted*) METHOD IsAccepted : BOOL VAR_INPUT (* The client, to check*) itfClient : VU.IVisualizationClient; END_VAR Now the client can be compared to the last used client as such: // check if clientID corresponds to clientID of last recorderd client IF itfCLient.ClientId = G_LastClient.ClientId THEN IsAccepted := TRUE; ELSE IsAccepted := FALSE; END_IF To make use of this custom client filter, initialize a variable with the client filter: LastClient : FB_LastClientFilter; // Client filter to find last used client Then use this client filter when opening or closing a dialog from ST: fbOpenMyDialog(itfClientFilter:=LastClient,xExecute:=TRUE,sDialogName:='VIS_MyDialog_DLG');

Hi yotaro, hope your problem was resolved. I had the same, but with an other library title. This exception is not detected during compilation, but rather at a given position in the program (when switching to a given visualization). Although the exception is generated at this point, it does not involve the visualization in question. This error is due to one of 3 reasons: 1) A division by zero somewhere: The program is able to detect divisions by zero at compile time. But in the case of a variable, which takes a valid value at init and changes to 0 at a later stage. 2) An invalid pointer: (either because it has a value of 0, or because it points outside the memory reserved for the program) is being dereferenced. Locate any pointers or interfaces you have in the code and check them - you should also be wary of mixing inline modifications and pointers. 3) Array overflow: Generally when a processing operation is executed outside the array's definition range. Example: a write loop with n iterations is executed on an array of dimmension n-1. On the other hand, the error message may not appear. In the latter case, the error may have fatal consequences, as the overflow has induced writing to potentially forbidden memory areas. This problem can be explained by the fact that it's not always the adjacent memory areas of PLC_PRG that are overwritten, but the memory areas that are randomly allocated to the array during compilation. In this case, however, there is no entry in the log, so you need to integrate the "Implicit Check function", which checks the line of code generating the error. Open the CODESYS Installer (from the menu Tools). Go to Browse. Search for: help ... Select the CODESYS Offline Help which you would like to install. (probably you have to close CODESYS to install it and reopen it after installation).
