Setup: Net Base Services (NBS), TCP_Client + TLSContext, ePurpose := CLIENT_SIDE, connecting to a third-party embedded device (Velux KLF200 home automation gateway) whose factory-installed TLS certificate expired on 2026-07-12 and has no user-facing renewal path. Tested on both CODESYS Control for Raspberry Pi SL (3.5.19.0) and CODESYS Control Win V3 x64, with identical results on both. Goal: Accept the peer's expired certificate via a custom ICertificateVerifier implementation, since the certificate itself can never be replaced. Both sides successfully complete the cryptographic handshake. - Despite this, TCP_Client.Upgrade() subsequently returns NBS.ERROR.CONNECTION_ERROR, and the connection is torn down with a plain TCP FIN (not a TLS alert) roughly 7-8ms after our side ACKs the server's Finished message. - TCP_Client.eErrorID (inherited from LCon) remains NO_ERROR throughout - the failure is only visible via Upgrade()'s return value. - Returning 0 (ERR_OK/ERR_CERT_OK - confirmed via the CmpErrors2 Interfaces documentation that these are literally the same value) makes no difference. - Echoing eCurState back unchanged (on the theory that this callback might work like mbedTLS's native verify callback, where the incoming state is a flags value to be cleared/modified and returned, rather than paired with a separate fixed "accept" sentinel) also makes no difference. - Identical result across udiVerificationMode := 0, 1, and 2. - Importing the peer's certificate into the runtime's trusted certificate store via cert-import trusted makes no difference either. - With itfCertVerifer left at its default (no custom verifier) and udiVerificationMode := 2, the underlying engine sends its own fatal TLS alert (handshake_failure) immediately after receiving the peer's Certificate message - suggesting built-in validation may reject at the record layer independent of whether a custom verifier is even present. Questions: 1. Is there an additional step required for a custom ICertificateVerifier to actually override an ERR_CERT_HAS_EXPIRED (or more generally, any ERR_CERT_*) rejection, or is certificate validation enforced unconditionally for a CLIENT_SIDE TLSContext regardless of what the verifier returns? 2. Is 0/ERR_OK genuinely the correct "accept" return value for VerifyCertificate, or does it expect something else (a specific bit pattern, a different constant, a value that must be computed from hCert itself)? 3. Is there a supported way to connect to a peer presenting a certificate that is both self-signed and expired, short of the peer issuing a new certificate? Happy to share the full packet captures or additional test combinations if useful. Also worth noting for anyone finding this thread later: a maintained Node-RED library for this same device (node-red-contrib-velux-klf200, forked to handle this exact expired-certificate situation) solves it by disabling built-in TLS validation entirely (rejectUnauthorized: false) and doing fingerprint-based pinning by hand after the handshake completes, rather than relying on a validation callback - which may be the more realistic approach here too if ICertificateVerifier genuinely can't override this class of rejection. Thanks in advance /Jørgen Disclosure: most of the CODESYS code and this investigation was developed with the help of Claude (Anthropic's AI assistant) - the state machine design, SLIP/checksum implementation, and debugging methodology (including the packet capture analysis) were worked through in an extended back-and-forth with it. I'm using Codesys virtual control for linux SL running on a docker server with plenty of memory available, therefore I’m not expecting a hardware limitation. Hi alex-n, are there any errors before the crash happens: MC_Phasing.Error, MC_Phasing.CommandAborted, what does the PLC log show before the crash? Does one of the drives show an error? You can achieve the same effect as MC_Phasing by using MC_GearIn and MC_MoveSuperImposed. But probably there is some problem in your application independent of MC_Phasing that can lead to the crash. for me looks like you do not use latest CODESYS IDE version, there is a known bug if you use a newer runtime your are forced to use a more complex password as user for the login. The old IDE version does not show this problem on login. so either update CODESYS or use a pw which meet the complexity requirements.

Hi All, Recently I have been experiencing a issue in CodeSys SP16 Patch 3, with a exception which comes up after I have made several online changes. callcallback() iec exception caught cmpid=0x00000002, eventid=0x00010008, after I experience this fault then I receive a error message for any subsequent online change "online change failed, no task gap within 10000ms". To recover either the controller needs a orgin reset, which will allow online edits thereafter until falling back into the loop. I am using a TURCK TX707 product which is controlling robot trajectory, We have hard coded the coordinate data rather than using persistence variables so hence the need to do online changes consistently. I have read on the forum other people have experienced similar issue with the online task gap, but I have no task which have same priority and also monitored the CPU usage and have not seen it go above 13%. Anyones help would be much appreciated, thankyou.

Hi, I have several problems with the git extension. Situation: I am working with Codesys v3.5 SP19 Patch 1 and Git V1.2.1.0. The remote repository is GitLab Community Edition v16.1.2. I am working on a project with one other person. Problems: 1: After each start of Codesys all of the visu pages are marked as modified. So we have to discard all changes first. Otherwise the history is not clean and the merge request becomes more complex. I tested it with a new project and only local. I made the observation, that a page is not marked as modified when it is committed a second time (after a restart of codesys). But this is necessary after every change of a page. However, since we are working in a team, it seems we are playing ping-pong and so all pages are marked as modified on each startup. 2: Each image pool causes a parent child conflict. Also in my local project. The only solution that I have found, is to ignore the issue. Does anyone have the same problems? I think it looks more like bugs. Thanks ewi04

Hallo zusammen, hi all, ich habe den gleichen Fehler. Auf einem Raspberry Pi geht der Fehler weg, wenn ich alles bereinige und dann vollständig übersetze. Wenn das Projekt im Codesys Development System wieder neu geladen wird ist der Fehler aber wieder da. Mit eine Win V3 x64 PLC kann ich den Fehler nur unterbinden wenn ich auf der HMI das VUM_Login einbinde. Dieses brauche ich aber nicht, da ich die HMI für das User Management selbst gestaltet habe. Das funktioniert auch. I have the same error. On a Raspberry Pi the error goes away if I clean everything and then compile completely. When the project is reloaded in the Codesys Development System, the error returns. With a Win V3 x64 PLC I can only prevent the error if I integrate the VUM_Login on the HMI. But I don't need this because I designed the HMI for user management myself. That works too. Anyone have an idea to fix this problem. Many thanks

Hi, Learning Codesys CNC, and I am confused by the dwIpoTime parameter. I have a basic demo application, using SMC_Interpolator feeding into SMC_TRAFO_Gantry2Tool2, which then sets the position of the x/y SM_Drive_Virtual axis. I also have a C axis which revolves the tool, which is controlled using a simple tangential angle calculation SMC_CalcDirectionFromVector. The GCode I'm using has feed/accel set at 500. The axis configuration limits are well above that (2000). What's strange is that, when I run the simulation, the feed speed changes drastically when I update the variable dwIpoTime. The larger the number, the faster it moves. What's going on here? The documentation only says "This variable has to be set for each call. It represents the cycle time in μsec." Why does it change the feed speed I'm seeing the in simulation? What is a good number to use? The example I was looking at set it at 5000. Screenshot attached.

Hi, Communication with the ADS1115 is actually simple. 1. write config 2. write address pointer 3. read conversation register The ADS1115 works like a multiplexer. This means that you do this individually for each channel that you want to read. e.g: Channel 1: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register Channel 2: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register Channel 3: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register Channel 4: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register then you start again from the beginning You can also omit individual channels or read only one. It doesn't matter. I have written the driver so that I can also use it on the TCA9548. The driver is from Stefan Dreyer. In your case, the driver works and communication with the ADS1115 is running. As you can see, the cfgWrong:=FALSE If you could not write or read data, cfgWrong:=TRUE; This means that either something is wrong with your ADS1115 or you have connected something incorrectly. Question: what voltage do you want to measure?

Hello, there in different information available regarding the possibility to run CODESYS Control for Linux SL on a virtual machine. https://forge.codesys.com/trg/linux-sl/home/Home/ says CODESYS Control for Linux SL is a runtime system, which can run on any Debian based X86 PC, VM or Cloud container... https://store.codesys.com/media/n98_media_assets/files/2302000005/3/CODESYS%20Control%20for%20Linux%20SL_de.pdf says CODESYS Control for Linux SL can not be used on virtual hardware Currently I run the package mentioned on a virtualized debian machine running in PROXMOX Virtual Environment 7.4-17 and apart from huge jitter it runs without problems. The CODESYS key is passed as a USB defice to the VM. I wonder why there are different statements regarding the suitability in virtual machines and if the jitter would be reduced by installing CODESYS runtime on the host installing CDS runtime on the host and using a preemptive kernel (if available for the PROXMOX installation leaving CDS runtime where it is (on the virtualized debian machine) and install a preemptive kernel on the host and on the guest... Hi I am trying use the Codesys Communication Manager to set up an Opc ua server with a custom information model. As a start I am using the Boiler model available on Opc foundations github page. I am testing with a Wago CC100 and using Codesys V3.5 SP19 Patch 6. I get the following error: Communication Manager [Device: PLC Logic: Application]: The information model http://opcfoundation.org/UA/ is required by http://opcfoundation.org/UA/Boiler/ with a minimal publication date from 15/12/2023 but the device has only a model from 15/09/2021 installed. Probably the information model from 15/09/2021 is missing in the information model repository. The error message does not make sense to me. Should it not be “Probably the information model from 15/12/2023 is missing in the information model repository”? Anyway, both versions are available in the repository. How can I solve this?
