What maybe helps is the Visu Dialog ST demo project: https://store.codesys.com/en/visu-dialog-st.html This has an application IECOpenDialog where dialogs are opened using the VU.FbOpenDialogExtended function blocks. The fbOpenConfigurationDialog call has a reference (interface) to the "close listener" FB of which it's method is automatically called when the dialog is closed. This way you can create specific function blocks for each dialog when it is closed and do what you want with the data that might have been changed.

Hi, using the ElementCollections Library, why isn't it possible to mutate a value found within a HashTable? From what I understand, the only way to change a value would be to use the RemoveByKey(), followed by AddKeyValuePair(). My goal is to use a Data Structure that works like a Dictionary in Python. The HashTable seems to come close to this, except that the values themselves seem to be immutable... In python, we can mutate a dict easily (see attached picture).

Hi mate, With this snippet i was able to see the lastusage variable count, but it would not iterate between clients? i was only able to access the data of the target visu. it threw an error with the array of pointers stating it was not able to convert etc. also when i tried it with the while loop it created an endless loop and crashed the program. any ideas? When you say it does not work, does nothing happen or do you get an error? I have not used this function in codesys but from my past experience with Modbus I believe the coils need to be contiguous, which may be why yours is failing? Have you tried using Write Registers (16) to do the job? Or is their data in-between you do not want to edit in the transaction?

Thanks for your reply. I belive it is contiguous, I'm writing to adress 0 to 4. Or, do you mean something else? Well, something is happening. If I on the client set adress 1,2,3 to true, only 1 is set to true on the server side. On the client side, the data is array of word. But on the server side, the coils are array of bool. Holding register is array of word on server side. Can this be a problem? Attached screenshot of how it looks at the server side.

The problem is looking for a bug somewhere in CoDeSys in that, when the slave returns, the cyclic data exchange resumes, but the diagnostics do not update and the node continues to resulting off-line. it is not a problem with the PB master, but with its 3S/CoDeSys management. CoDeSys 3.5.19.20 runtime. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thank you.

I'm curious about the impact of having profinet and Ethercat (specifically softmotion so frame at start of task?) running together. Since it's advised to access the data from the bus task should have both profinet io and ethercat on the same task? Are there any implications around this one should be aware of especially since the frame at task start is just, so far as I'm aware, an ethercat thing? Thanks

I'm trying to use an fbMsSQL_compact function to read data from an SQL database. It works with some databases, but there is one database that I can't seem to get it to work on. It's set up the same as the other databases that I've tested with the only difference I see is that the name of the database is cut off in the status message. I'll get a message like "User: User logged out succesfully from database: 12345" But the whole name of the database is something like 1234567.

Searching for it I came across this https://www.codesys.com/fileadmin/data/Images/System/Releaseinformation/Patch-Note-CODESYS-Visualization-4300.html which says it was a bug VIS-1394, fixed in Visualization 4.3.0.0. I'm using a previous visu version, what is the cause of this error, and what can be done to work around it?

Hello everyone, I encountered a problem in the simulation while working. In a test project we set up a Modbus connection. We wanted to simulate this with test values. The connection also worked, but unfortunately the values are frozen and do not report any “current data”. (Picture attached) Since these are my first points of contact with Codesys and my colleague continues to work elsewhere, I was hoping that someone here might have an idea. Hi everybody We are currently working on a project with an RS232 serial COM interface and using the CAA SerialCOM library. We have it working fine reading and writing data, although we have found an issue we cannot resolve and any suggestions would be helpful. We have noticed that after a while the RS232 stops working. We have tracked this down to the HANDLE hCom keeps increasing and when this reaches 1023 the COM returns an unknown error "5003". Is there a way to reset this hCom reference? Thanks Richard

I'm looking to automatically select a text field element in my visualization. I'm not sure if this is possible, as I don't know how to get the data on specific elements. I am wanting automatic selection of the text field, as I am using a keyboard-input barcode scanner, which should always input the barcode into the text field whenever a barcode is scanned. Does anyone know if this can be done?

From what I can find online it's got to do with electronic records and validation. My MC_Phasing FB was stuck in iPhasingState=1 and error output HIGH on one axis. I could manually overwrite the state to 0 in the instance data. During normal run I see the state change from 0 to 10 to 100 back to 0 (maybe more states that I couldnt catch with the naked eye) But - what are the states numbers and their different explenations? This is not explained in the FB guide on codesys. (the pictures show state = 0 after I reset)

Hello, im using dynamic memory allocation with the NEW()-operator. When i instanciate a class with the NEW()-operator and want to debug/watch the interface of the class, the watch is only showing "Hidden Instance" (See attached screenshot). I'm looking for a smart and short way to implement initialization of visualization variables depending on the visualization input. For an easy example consider a rectangle which rests at XPos := 0 when the input state is false and at XPos := 50 when the input state is true. My visualization variables look like this: VAR_IN_OUT State : BOOL; END_VAR VAR XPos : INT; END_VAR I put this rectangle via a visualization frame element into another visualization and link a frame reference variable with the state to it. If the variable is true, the rectangle should rest at XPos := 50 and false at XPos := 0 at visualization init but how should I assign the 50 or 0 to the internal visualization variable XPos? I would need some init-methode for the visualization but I dont want a global init-method for such tasks. I want to do it inside of the visualization element but I can't see any solution for this? It would be good to be able to define ST-code within the visualization element which runs cyclic at each VISU_TASK task-cycle then I could just check the input state and change the XPos accordingly. Does someone have a solution?

Hallo zusammen, ich hab ein kleines Problem bei einer Modbus TCP-Verbindung von meinem RaspberryPi (ML) zu einem Fronius Wechselrichter. Ich habe mir die CodeSys Version 3.5SP20 heruntergeladen und die Runtime auf dem RaspberryPi mit aktualisiert. Gerät ist ein Fronius Symo 6.0-3-M Folgende Konfiguration habe ich im Wechselrichter (Siehe Bilder). Laut Registertabelle fangen die Daten bei Adresse 40001 an und gehen im Modus int+SF bis 40120 Ich habe mir also im Ethernet-Adapter einen Modubus Master und darunter einen ModbusSlave angelegt. Der Slave (Fronius) hat bei mir die IP 192.168.2.46 dazu UnitID und Port. Ich habe dann einen Kanal mit den 120 WORDS und dem OFFSET angelegt. Wenn ich nun die Konfiguration übertrage , scheint erst mal alles zu passen.. aber es flackert immer wieder ein Fehler beim Slave auf (kann nicht erkennen welcher und finde auch keine Diagnose). Es werden auch keine Daten übertragen. Alles bleibt auf 0. Ich muss dazu sagen, dass ich noch eine weiter Modbus TCP Verbindung zu einer anderen SPS habe. Die funktioniert wunderbar. Normalerweise sollten ja auch mehrere Verbindungen gleichzeitig möglich sein oder? Wäre top, wenn ihr mir helfen könntet, den Fehler zu finden. LG Chris

I am trying to figure out how to get a JSON payload to properly publish to my MQTT Broker. I am able to generate JSON using the examples from Codesys, but when I send that payload via MQTT there are characters that are extra or not recognized by my MQTT client. Hey guys, I am trying to write a JSON. First time after login in PLC after download everthing works. But when I want to change values during runtime and try to recreate the JSON nothing happens. When forcing the xStart as an impulse i want to recreate it and see 2 as Key3 instead of 1 from the first run. Any Idea how to make this work?
