Post by aniket-b on How to protect library project? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I have library projects which has few function blocks. I have assigned security to each FB. I want to protect them and user can only be able to use it without viewing the code inside. What kind of file I should send to user? Is it compiled library file?

please tell us the exact error message from diagnostic. U can view it at devicetree in the node-element diagnostic from modbus-configuration. u also can activate the function auto-reconnect in master and increase a little bit the timeout and the repetition to male thw communication a little bit more robust

Post by evanclegg on Digital Clock CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
To display the current time, you’ll need to retrieve it from the system clock. In CODESYS, you can use the built-in function SysTime to get the current system time. Here’s an example of how you can use it: VAR dtCurrentTime: DATE_AND_TIME; sTime: STRING(8); END_VAR dtCurrentTime := SysTime(); sTime := TIME_TO_STRING(dtCurrentTime.t); The sTime variable now contains the current time in the format “HH:MM:SSuno online".

Post by k4zz on Static Code Analysis CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I've already experimented with two methods, but unfortunately, they only function with projects of type *.project. Consequently, when executing: system.commands["staticanalysis", "run"].execute() For the 2nd Option: You'll need to ensure that in the Static Analysis Settings, the option "Perform static analysis automatically after compilation" is checked. # get Project values myProject = projects.primary # Creates an active application app = myProject.active_application # build Application and run static code analysis app.generate_code()

Post by markushunter on Different behavior between the "Start" button in the IDE and the Cmp function "AppStartApplication()" CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
One workaround is to create a second application which is started after the rested of the main application. The second application starts the main application after time x and is rest after done start of the main application. No problems during the fieldbus re-start by this workaround.

Hey schnepper, when i look into your c-file, i would say that only the main-function is declared with cext-addendum in your codesys-library-project. all yöur funtions in library has to be the cext-addendum when the external implementation is activ. if i remeber right, methods and other subelements dont need that, but every base-elements

Post by k2saki on Automatic TOOL Length Measurement like Typical CNC Machine. CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I'd like to measure tool length using SW. How do I set variable from the accurate drive position when switch turn ON/OFF? Hopefully, I'd like to measure Z-Pos with M-Function in G-Code automatically, And I'd like to set it to G43 as tool length correction.

Post by matt-purcell on Which Lib to use, connect to a socket with URL instead of IP address CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I've been searching through these libraries, syssocket and net base services and they all seem to use the same structure for IP address for the connect function, SOCKADDRESS. At a glance, it doesn't look like that'll work, maybe it's just missing in the documentation somewhere?? I'm wondering if anyone has done it.

Post by jeffersonhui on SysProcessExecuteCommand2 terminate CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, I am using the SysProcessExecuteCommand2 function from the SysProcess library to run the candump command in the PLC's Linux environment. However, the candump command stays running indefinitely. If I was running the candump command from a terminal (via PuTTy, etc), that command usually requires Ctrl+C to terminate. Is there a way to terminate a command that is executed with SysProcessExecuteCommand2?

Post by song on How to convert a standard robot program into an excutive list when a robot runs? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Dear Sir, I'd like to learn and try to make robot based on Codesys, is there a FB block or other ways to convert a standard robot program into an excutive list? how codesys explain the robot command instructions on HMI, just like the SMC_NCDecoder used to convert CNC program into a list of SMC_GEOINFO object. Thanks very much! Peter Yan

Post by mrbartpawlowski on OMAC PackML library 1.0.04 CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello all, Can someone point me to the OMAC PackML State Machine library documentation, I can't find any description of the block functionality ? I was looking into https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/index.html but there's no PackML there. I'm new to Codesys and don't know if I'm doing something wrong here ? In library tab in codesys whenever I want to see documentation I'm getting an error. Regards Bart

Post by ph0010421 on Task time too fast? CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello I've made an FB which is a TCP server. It uses the excellent CAA NetServices library. If I have the FB in a task <4ms, then the RT crashes immediately at boot up. If the task >=4ms, it starts and runs perfectly. This is even if the block is not doing anything; just instantiated. Am I missing something silly? Why would a low task time cause this? 4ms is perfectly adequate, but I'm just interested why... thanks PH

Post by gabrielarffa on Modbus TCP/IP having problems with global variables CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I'm using Modbus TCP/IP to communicate Codesys with Elipse E3 as the master for a college project. I have made a list of global variables to organize the programming in two different POUs. The problem is, when I try to do the mapping of variables, the program informs me of an error due to the identifiers having a "." on their names. Do I have to reorganize my code to make it an unified block or is there a way to declare their names without changing all the code structure?

Hi There, I took over a project from a colleague (in GTB) who left the company. When I took over his project, it wouldn't compile because some libraries were missing. I managed to recover quite a few libraries, but I can't find the library that contains the block functions shown in the image. Here are a few examples: Fb_RegMel_ISO Fb_DefModbus FbDecalConsSalSO Fb_Autor_FreeCool_CTA_C I'm a little stuck at the moment, so if you see a Facebook post that speaks to you, don't hesitate to get in touch! Thank you in advance for your help.

Post by gepert on GearInPos CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hello, Please give any tips regarding stopping Mc_GearInPos block. Please look at attached drawings. When fb MC_GearInPos is started, output "busy" is true - it is ok. But when i want to stop this funkction blok i deactive execute input and i use Mc_stop. Unfortunelly Mc_gearInPos is still busy. It lasts till to synchronize phase. Then i can stop it by Mc_stop. So I cannot stop fb before synchrnization. Can you give any tips how solve this problem. Sometimes I must to switch off before synchro. Best regards Lukasz

Post by fless on FB having single input but initialized with Array CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Why will it retain the sum value from the last call? This is how PLC work. Usually variables only get initialized after a download or a reset (i.e. power loss). RETAIN variables are saved in a special kind of RAM and keep their value after a power loss. To initialize variables on every call of your FB use the VAR TEMP block. VAR_TEMP sum : INT; END_VAR

Post by otbeka on CmpCrypto CryptoGenerateHash Not Outputting CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi, I have been trying to use CryptoGenerateHash from the CmpCrypto Implementation library. My code is taken almost directly from the CryptoDemo.project example provided on Codesys Forge, yet the CryptoGenerateHash function does not write to the address listed in pHash. RTS_IEC_RESULT is OK, but I am getting nothing out of the function. No errors either, all my libraries are up to date. Any help would be appreicated! Post by mubeta on Strange problem with the ‘MC_SetPosition’ function CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Hi gseidel, before moving to HW implementation, I had created the same program in simulation mode with virtual drives and, as far as I remember, everything worked fine simulating process and the few useful inputs. So it does not seem to be a SoftMotion library problem, but rather a problem with dynamics or physical axis adjustments. What escapes me, however, is the fact that this function is supposed to perform a position shift virtually, in fact without interfering with the axis itself, thus independent of its adjustments. MC_SetPosition() is not a homing function, in fact it is clearly intended to be executed on the fly with the axis moving. Now I'll see if I can reduce the program, although I don't like it very much. In my life I have learned that problem searches should be done on the part, and not in a more or less similar way.

Post by r-c-r on SM3RaspiStepper 0.0.0.6 issue CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
Ok, so i made some tests in the meantime and i have some conclusions. It apears that the enable bit is activated only when a motion function is executed. I implemented a very simple program with MC_Power and MC_Jog. If i enable everything on MC_Power, the enable GPIO pin stays off. However, as soon as the MC_Jog function is used the enable GPIO pin turns ON and remains ON. In version 0.0.0.4 this is not happening. The GPIO enable pin turns on or off when the MC_Power is enabled or disabled. From this behaviour i understand that in version 0.0.0.6 the GPIO enable bit is activated together with pulse and dir pins when motion starts. When motion stops, enable bit remains with the last state (on in this case) and you cannot turn it off for example. For me this bit is useful because i can turn on and off the stepper drive with MC_Power function. Now i can turn it on, but never off.

Post by willbechel on Errors about PLC configuration in CoDeSYs software CODESYS Forge talk (Post)
I saved it as the same project but in a different location. I opened this "new project". I clicked on the "Direct Login from Automation Builder" button. It automatically directed me to CODESYS, where I was able to create the "Create Boot Project" but first I also clicked login again but inside CODESYS keeping the automation builder login online. Additional Information: The "Create Boot Project" function in CODESYS is used to create a project that will automatically start when the controller is booted up. To create a boot project, you must first create a new project in CODESYS. Once you have created a new project, you can then use the "Create Boot Project" function to create a boot application. The "Create Boot Project" function will create a new application that is based on the current project. The new application will be saved in the same location as the current project. You can then download the new application to the controller.
