Hi aniket-b, the maximum cycle time of the EtherCAT_Task is very high, ca. 35 ms. Could you please check if this is just the first cycle after starting the application or if it happens during motion? (You can reset the times in the task configuration by right-clicking in the "monitoring" tab.) Another thing to try: put the SoftMotion_Planning task on a different core. Best regards, Georg

Thanks for your reply @eschwellinger. Update : the is problem is resolved. It was done by renaming the User database file (/var/opt/codesys/.UserDatabase.csv) as deleting it was risky. After restart the IDE asked me to create new user. On doing that the problem got resolved. Reference for members facing similar problem/s : sudo systemctl stop codesyscontrol sudo mv /var/opt/codesys/.UserDatabase.csv_ /var/opt/codesys/.UserDatabase.csv_.old sudo systemctl start codesyscontrol

Hi alex-n, are there any errors before the crash happens: MC_Phasing.Error, MC_Phasing.CommandAborted, what does the PLC log show before the crash? Does one of the drives show an error? You can achieve the same effect as MC_Phasing by using MC_GearIn and MC_MoveSuperImposed. But probably there is some problem in your application independent of MC_Phasing that can lead to the crash. for me looks like you do not use latest CODESYS IDE version, there is a known bug if you use a newer runtime your are forced to use a more complex password as user for the login. The old IDE version does not show this problem on login. so either update CODESYS or use a pw which meet the complexity requirements.

Hi All, Recently I have been experiencing a issue in CodeSys SP16 Patch 3, with a exception which comes up after I have made several online changes. callcallback() iec exception caught cmpid=0x00000002, eventid=0x00010008, after I experience this fault then I receive a error message for any subsequent online change "online change failed, no task gap within 10000ms". To recover either the controller needs a orgin reset, which will allow online edits thereafter until falling back into the loop. I am using a TURCK TX707 product which is controlling robot trajectory, We have hard coded the coordinate data rather than using persistence variables so hence the need to do online changes consistently. I have read on the forum other people have experienced similar issue with the online task gap, but I have no task which have same priority and also monitored the CPU usage and have not seen it go above 13%. Anyones help would be much appreciated, thankyou.

Hi, I have several problems with the git extension. Situation: I am working with Codesys v3.5 SP19 Patch 1 and Git V1.2.1.0. The remote repository is GitLab Community Edition v16.1.2. I am working on a project with one other person. Problems: 1: After each start of Codesys all of the visu pages are marked as modified. So we have to discard all changes first. Otherwise the history is not clean and the merge request becomes more complex. I tested it with a new project and only local. I made the observation, that a page is not marked as modified when it is committed a second time (after a restart of codesys). But this is necessary after every change of a page. However, since we are working in a team, it seems we are playing ping-pong and so all pages are marked as modified on each startup. 2: Each image pool causes a parent child conflict. Also in my local project. The only solution that I have found, is to ignore the issue. Does anyone have the same problems? I think it looks more like bugs. Thanks ewi04

Hi, Learning Codesys CNC, and I am confused by the dwIpoTime parameter. I have a basic demo application, using SMC_Interpolator feeding into SMC_TRAFO_Gantry2Tool2, which then sets the position of the x/y SM_Drive_Virtual axis. I also have a C axis which revolves the tool, which is controlled using a simple tangential angle calculation SMC_CalcDirectionFromVector. The GCode I'm using has feed/accel set at 500. The axis configuration limits are well above that (2000). What's strange is that, when I run the simulation, the feed speed changes drastically when I update the variable dwIpoTime. The larger the number, the faster it moves. What's going on here? The documentation only says "This variable has to be set for each call. It represents the cycle time in μsec." Why does it change the feed speed I'm seeing the in simulation? What is a good number to use? The example I was looking at set it at 5000. Screenshot attached.

Hi, Communication with the ADS1115 is actually simple. 1. write config 2. write address pointer 3. read conversation register The ADS1115 works like a multiplexer. This means that you do this individually for each channel that you want to read. e.g: Channel 1: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register Channel 2: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register Channel 3: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register Channel 4: write config > write address pointer > read conversation register then you start again from the beginning You can also omit individual channels or read only one. It doesn't matter. I have written the driver so that I can also use it on the TCA9548. The driver is from Stefan Dreyer. In your case, the driver works and communication with the ADS1115 is running. As you can see, the cfgWrong:=FALSE If you could not write or read data, cfgWrong:=TRUE; This means that either something is wrong with your ADS1115 or you have connected something incorrectly. Question: what voltage do you want to measure?

The CODESYS key is passed as a USB defice to the VM. I wonder why there are different statements regarding the suitability in virtual machines and if the jitter would be reduced by installing CODESYS runtime on the host installing CDS runtime on the host and using a preemptive kernel (if available for the PROXMOX installation leaving CDS runtime where it is (on the virtualized debian machine) and install a preemptive kernel on the host and on the guest... Hi Dave. Thanks for your answer. I still struggling with this. I have done everything according with the Codesys help even I have looked in detail at the example. I have double checked the recipe manager configuration and the use of all the methods. There are two methods that do not work as expected. I'm using Codesys 3.5.19.20 and recipe management 4.4.0.0 .CreateRecipe just create a recipe in the recipe definition but do not create the file. This have a walk around just giving a .ReadAndSaveRecipe afterwards. .ReloadRecipes do nothing but do not generate any error as well. After calling it I call the .GetRecipeCount and the number is always 0. When I create a new recipe (using the function block methods) then the number changes. Looks like this method is looking to the wrong directory finding nothing. I don't know if there is a missing configuration in the CODESYSControl.cfg file. I'm thinking in a walk around for this but I need to create a strings array with the recipe names as retentive and making all the management when deleting and adding recipes. Have had some one the same problem?

First, if you don't need to change conversion rules in runtime, take a look at "Unit conversion" module (Application -> add object -> UnitConversion). You can specify there biderectional conversion with different units, limits and so on. Second, since MODBUS don't have "real" types but only general 16-bit registers and Real is 32-bit, generally you need a byte-was conversion Real <> two Words. Note, that depending on the devices on both sides, there are two options: Real-> Word1, Word2 or Real-> Word2, Word1, where Word1 is minor register in Modbus register pair and Word2 is major. You can use simple union: TYPE u_Real : UNION rVal:REAL; wVal:ARRAY[0..1] OF WORD; dwVAL:DWORD; //same as previous, may be easier to specify the MB register END_UNION END_TYPE and convert it as following: VAR myUnion:u_Real; rValue_TO_SEND:REAL; rValue_TO_GET:REAL; END_VAR myUnion.rVal:=rValue_TO_SEND; rValue_TO_GET:=myUnion.rVal; Note, that WORD-order should be properly set in MODBUS registers, otherwise you will get strange values. Hello , I am currently evaluating the CODESYS PROFINET Controller SL on a Revolution Pi Connect 5 and have encountered a problem with acyclic PROFINET Record Access (WRREC/RDREC). System Hardware: Revolution Pi Connect 5 Runtime: CODESYS Control 4.16.0.0 (SDK 3.5.21.10) Development System: CODESYS V3.5 SP21 (64-bit) CommFB: 3.5.17.10 ProfinetCommon: 4.6.0.0 PROFINET Controller Device: PN-Controller 4.6.0.0 PROFINET Device: NORD DRIVESYSTEMS SK205E with SK TU4-PNT GSDML: GSDML-V2.46-NORDDRIVESYSTEMS-PNT-20251016.xml Network The PROFINET network is completely separated from the office network. RevPi: eth0 → Office network eth1 → PROFINET wlan0 → Visualization The PN Controller is configured to use eth1. IP configuration: RevPi (eth1): 192.168.100.1/24 NORD Drive: 192.168.100.3 Connection is established successfully. Current Status The PN Controller reports: Controller Status = Run Online = TRUE IP Active = TRUE Connections = 1 Cyclic PROFINET IO communication works correctly. Problem I am trying to access PKW parameters via WRREC (Record Index 100). The request buffer contains: 01 14 00 04 92 00 00 00 00 00 00 which corresponds to Reference = 0x01 Request = Read Axis = 0 Parameter = 170 + 1000 Subindex = 0 Value = 0 The WRREC call is fbWRREC( REQ := xWrReq, ID := ConnectionID, INDEX := 100, LEN := 11, RECORD := ADR(TxBuffer) ); REQ is pulsed for one PLC cycle only. Observed Behaviour WRREC enters BUSY state and never finishes. Observed values: BUSY = TRUE DONE = FALSE ERROR = FALSE STATUS = 16#FFFFFFFF indefinitely. Packet Capture A Wireshark capture was taken on the PROFINET network. Observed traffic: PROFINET RT LLDP DCP Observed: successful cyclic IO Not observed: DCE/RPC Record Write Record Read RPC Bind No RPC packets are transmitted at all. Diagnostic Messages The controller repeatedly reports AR alarm.ind(err) AR CMI timeout although cyclic IO communication continues to work. Already Verified The following points have already been checked: correct Ethernet interface (eth1) correct CREATE_ID result correct Device ID correct Slot/Subslot correct GSDML correct REQ pulse RECORD buffer is larger than LEN cyclic IO communication works different Record Indices (100...104) tested Question Is there any known issue or limitation where WRREC/RDREC requests remain permanently BUSY and no RPC Record Access packets are generated? Could this behaviour be related to Runtime 4.16.0.0, PN Controller 4.6.0.0, the missing runtime license (currently running in demo mode), or any known issue with the PROFINET Controller SL? I am currently evaluating the PROFINET Controller SL and therefore the runtime is operating in demo mode. Could you please confirm whether WRREC/RDREC (acyclic Record Data services) are fully supported in demo mode, or whether a valid license is required for these services? Using codesys v3.5 SP21 Patch 1. We are using Visualization to display alarms. Other then the automatically created AlarmManagerTask, there is no code written to call AlarmStorage_Prg. Any ideas why we would be seeing this error in the log? The runtime actually shutdown.
