Hi, I 've just started a new project. Translating SoMachine (SCHNEIDER) to CODESYS 3.5.18//DEMO (EATON XC303) I succeed (I think so) to copy FB, STRUCT,... and I also integrated old library. When I build F11, I have a first problem : - Adress out of rang - Overlay It's strange, usually %ML100 > %MB800 Here ONLINE: %ML100 > %MB100 !! I don't understand why ? And idea ? Thanks

Hi kporter, a more direct way would be to use SMC_FollowPosition to write the set positions directly to the servo drive. This FB has reacts on changes of the fSetPosition on each call, without a need for a rising edge on Execute. Hi, Im not sure if this is what you mean, but i do succesfully use the IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave.InputData and IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave.OutputData to read from and write to beckhoff DI and DO cards. Very convenient as you can make an FB with an VAR_IN_OUT of type IoDrvEthercatLib.ETCSlave and only have to pass the slave reference... So i am not using .ETCSlave_Diag but .ETCSlave...

Here I have attached the task monitor data. What is very weird is that I am using MC__MoveDirectAbsolute FB, when I choose Vel/ACC/Jerk Factor to 1.0 it run fine. It ran 10 hours without the issue. But I get the error randomly when I use factor as 0.5

Hi guys. I've got a device that sends a status message over J1939 and a PLC running Codesys to receive it. This message uses a P2P PGN (as opposed to a broadcast PGN). Codesys can only read it if I mark the J1939_ECU as "Local" (see screenshot 1). The message is received correctly, that is not the problem. The problem is detecting if the message stops being received. Local ECUs have no Watchdog checkbox to detect if the message has been received in the last X seconds. In order to implement a watchdog, I've used a ReceiveWatchdog FB. The same code works well for any non-P2P message, but doesn't work for this particular P2P message I'm trying to monitor. Even if I physically disconnect the device, ReceiveWatchdog.xBusy stays True, and ReceiveWatchdog.xError never triggers due to a timeout error. Is there any caveat in the ReceiveWatchdog FB that makes it unable to monitor P2P PGNs in Local J1939_ECUs?

Hello, I'm relatively new to PLC programming. I am trying to creat a ramp down function, I have an example here of what I am using. I can get the function to work, the issue is that the OUT (variable3) value is being held by the FB so after I use it once it no longer works. In this example i set variable3 to 100 and the rest is as seen, over the course of a minute it ramped down to 10 (as desired). But when I deenergize TEST_START, set variable3 back to 100, and then re-energize TEST_START it immediately jumps back to the previously held value 10. The reset on this block just pauses the function and holds the last OUT. In my case I will need the function to start OUT at a set value, ramp down to the IN (variable2) value, and then accept a new OUT value to ramp down next time the block is energized. Hopefully this made sense, if anyone has any advice that would be awesome!

Hello everyone, I've been working on a system which needs an error function, with this purpose I've created a FB programmed in LD, after debugging I run the simulation. It seems that the variable linked to a coil doesn't change the value when the contacts are associated to input variables. When I use internal variables the logic works properly. I don't know if the problem is related to the variables definition or with the logic program. As you can see in the image, I1 and I2 are variables declared on the FB, the rest are input variables. If I force the eStop and Reset signals to TRUE the coil value should change, but it doesn't. However in the second network if I1 is TRUE the coil change to TRUE as it has to be. To sum up, my doubt is why that coil doesn't change its value? I would like someone to shed a light on this. Thanks!

Goodmorning, I would need to set a control station that can manage a PLC network. In short I need to access to all visu programmed in any PLC of the network (LAN). I was thinking to use a PLC with buttons that call, by mean an IP address, the visu of any PLC. I don't know if it is possible but I saw that there is a RemoteVisuTarget that run CODESYS Control Win V3. Can someone suggest me how to create a remote main control station from a normal PC? Hello, In my projects, I'm following this recommendation about the rule names in Codesys https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_rules.html, so I always use backtick identifiers, not only for variables, but also for the object names. However, I have noticed that in the current version of Codesys, when adding Visu object, it is not allowed to used these identifiers in the name. This is very different from all other objects like, folder names, POU names, Variable list names etc. I wonder if there is some hidden settings I can use to enable backtick identifiers in the Visu object names? Hello, I am using Codesys on an industrial pc with a single monitor. I would also like to have a separate vision software running on the PC and would like to display it half screen. When I run the soft PLC the my visualization screen appears full screen, I would like to be able to set the size of the visualization screen so I can display other software on the monitor. Is it possible to set the width/height of the targetVisu? Anyone try something similar? I would like to avoid having to put it on a Virtual Machine. Thank you

From what you describe, the boot application files are in the right place, but the key step you’re missing is how the runtime knows which application to load. In most cases with CODESYS Control Win, you don’t need to edit CodesysControl.cfg manually. Instead, once you’ve created the boot application (Application.app and .crc), copy them into the runtime instance directory (for example …\E84889DB), then restart the service. The PLC should automatically detect Application.app and start it. If TargetVisu still doesn’t open, double-check that the visualization settings are enabled for TargetVisu (Project → Devices → Visualization), and that you built the project with visualization included before creating the boot application. Editing the config is rarely required unless you’re running multiple applications ball orbit

Hey Everyone, I'm having a bit of a struggle finding settings that will reliably maintain a connection between the webvisu and a touchscreen client. Every so often the HMI disconnects and will perpetually display the red spinning arrow with the "Error Happened, Will resume automatically" text. Power cycling the HMI to force a reconnect will re-establish comms. It seems to happen during periods of inactivity if that's a clue. From what I've gathered so far this seems to have something to do with the webvisu update rate, buffer size as well as the visu task scan rate. We first tried the default settings as follows: Webvisu Update Rate: 200 ms Webvisu Buffer Size: 50,000 Visu Task Scan Rate: 100 ms Priority 31 Other Tasks for Reference: Main Task Scan Rate: 100 ms Priority 1 Alarm Manager Scan Rate: 50 ms Priority 31 Ethercat Task: 4 ms Priority 1 This would disconnect some what regularly. We then made the following changes to try and stabilize: Webvisu Update Rate: 150 ms Webvisu Buffer Size: 75,000 Visu Task Scan Rate: 75 ms Kept other tasks the same. This seems to disconnect even more frequently. Also for reference the network is very small and only consists of the PLC, a small switch and the HMI. We're also not controlling frames from outside the visu program itself. The frame changes are all done natively. Any suggestions to get this to stop disconnecting? Oh and whatever the issue is the log does not record it. Figured I would ask here before opening a ticket. Thanks in advance for your help!

You need to create an array with one element for each possible user. I usually define these arrays in the root screen. FrameIndex : Array [0..MaxUsers] OF INT; Then use the global CurrentClientId (defined by one of the VISU libraries) to index the array element used to select the frame. FrameIndex[CurrentClientId]

If the PLC is equieped with a USB socket it's possible to copy the user management file via IEC code to a USB stick and restore it at the new plc. The file is located there: /PlcLogic/visu/app_visuusermgmtdb.csv I use this to reset the user management to default in case of the customer has changed passwords and lost it.

A Task is a standard IEC 61131-3 object, so logically that you can export the VISU_TASK. A visualization is no standard IEC 61131-3 object, so not compatible with other IEC tools. Just use the standard export / import functionality. These files are not IEC compatible and can only be used in CODESYS. But these do support visu objects.

In your soft plc folder, there is a file called targetvisuextern.cfg. Open this with a text editor to change the settings. Remove the semi-colons in front of the lines to enable your custom window settings. WindowType=0 means you will get a moveable window. Save the file and restart the soft PLC to enable these settings.

This came up again today, so I'll post the fix for future reference. Happens with Schneider Machine Expert 2.2 and M262 controllers.
