hi, i am currently trying to adapt an i/o device for a project. the node id is unknown and there is no eds file available. no data is being emitted from the device as a giveaway, the baudrate is known but useless without the node id. is there an sdo request available to determine the id? i cannot get the device to leave pre op status even with a global nmt request. please help. no hair left.

Hello, I have a problem when opening the license manager for my raspberry pi (CM4 model) with runtime 4.13.0.0. I select "Device" --> "Soft Container" and click on my device in the scan window but I get this error message : Licensing info not available. There is no dongle attached to this device. I can't install licenses anymore, and I don't understand why is CodeSys looking for a dongle when I specified I wanted to use a Soft Container. Can somebody help me please ? Best regards

Hello, I am new on CODESYS env. I would like to do some Modbus TCP, but I am wondering If using codesys you must use the device "Modbus_TCP_Client" & "Modbus_TCP_Server". I would like to do it without device, only using ST. Is that possible ? I try the example : MODBUS_master_example, but it is not working. If it is possible to dot it without any Device I will show my code. Thx a lot

After updating my Codesys to later versions, it seems my device repository no longer lists the proper runtime devices, nor ethernet adapters, or other previously installed device descriptions. What needs to be done here? Do I need to uninstall and do a clean install? I am now updating to SP21.1 to see if that fixes it. Any tips what I am doing wrong here are much appreciated. I don't see codesys control win, or have the ability to add an ethernet adapter in my project.

Hi, How can we configure autostart of TargetVisualization on the remote device? The device is a Raspberry PI CM4 with PIXEL Desktop on display. I installed Targetvisu for Linux SL 4.16.0.0 on it. I was trying to use subdevicesCollapsed attribute in device descriptor in order to not expand the subdevices when a new device with subdevices is inserted in the device tree. I use this as follows:<fixed subdevicescollapsed="true">. But it seems it doesn`t work. I am ussing Codesys v3.5 SP16 Patch4. Is anything wrong with this? Hi, I want to use Maxon IDX drives for some simple robotic applications. I have used Maxon's Epos for generating a DCF file to import in Codesys (attached). Then I can add the IDX motors under a CANopen manager in the device tree. Unfortunately, I cannot add a "softmotion axis" to the IDX motors. Now I am wondering, why? Without being able to attach a softmotion axis to the device in the device tree, the use of the motor is greatly reduced... spiessli

Good day, Currently running a project on a windows 10 IPC with TargetVisu. the project starts and runs but the TargetVisu screens will not accept a touch on the monitor but will work with a mouse. I have the option to use as a touchscreen active. I did not put my license on the device just yet. Do you have to have the license activated on the device before the TargetVisu will work via a touch? running Codesys v3.5 SP 19 Patch 6, 64bit. device is Codesys Control Win v3 X64

Just adding some info regarding the issue above. Logged onto the project using dev3og5 user (see screenshots); appeared to be ok although when attempting to logon to the device message says 'currently not authorized to perform this operation on the device' (screenshot). If user dev3og5 has same permissions as Owner user; why would it not be authorized. I am at a loss; any assistance would greatly be appreciated. Thank you Mike

Hi everyone. I use Raspberry Pi 4, one core codesys SL. I have a question about global variable access via programm when I glued the same variable to MODBUS SERIAL/TCP DEVICE holding register. So, the question: what behavior of this modifying? When I set "Always update variables (in bus cycle)" and set some task as bus for the Device, then in another task I cant change this varible (can, but immediatly the old value setted again). But the same things works with MODBUS SLAVE: again "Always update..." and master attached to some task, then I change variable in another task and all works. I cant set up my variables from retains file at PrepareStart event because of this behavior with MODBUS SERIAL/TCP DEVICE. Thanks, wbj0t.

Hello, We have a problem with CodeSys on a raspbery pi with an ADS1015 analog to I2C module. It can't find the I2C device on the i2c bus, it says No I2C Driver Found. When we use the RPI terminal we can find the I2C device and read it out. The i2c-1 bus is also accessible from codesys. The device address of the Analog to I2C module is 0x48. Can someone have a look what the problem is? i submitted the screenshots in the attachments. i also include the device description and library.

I got a Wago PFC200V2, running Codesys 3.5.16.40, 100ms scan cycle, consumes about 20ms. It will randomly crash the runtime every 10 minutes to a few hours. We suspect an overloaded ModbusTCP Slave Device, as this is work done by a 3rd party contractor, but we can not find anything in the help files or documentation, that mentions a hard limit on maximum number of clients connections. This PLC currently has 44 client connections to the Slave Device and 29 slaves configured for its own Master Device. Hello everyone, I am new to the forum, and to programming with CodeSys. I am dealing with IoT device for industry and I should check if a device is able to read/write global variables in an EtherNet/IP Master. Since I do not have an EtherNet/IP PLC, I thought of using CodeSys as a softPLC. I created a program with a set of global variables (GVL) and a task that increments them. I would like to know if I need to enable any options so that the global variables can be read by IoT devices. My device supports Class 2 Class (Explicit Messaging Connection) communication. As far as I remember, the Reconfigure functionality doesn't work for Modbus devices. But... Each Modbus device in your device tree has a name. You can set the property "Enable" of this device to FALSE to stop communicating with it. So if one of your Modbus Slave devices name is "MbSlave1" in the device tree, then in your code you can set the Enable to FALSE to let it stop communicating: MbSlave1.Enable := FALSE; Please let us know if this worked on your controller with your application and your CODESYS version.
