Anyone else using the SEND_RECV_MSG function block for RS-485 communication on Schneider Machine Expert? I have had ongoing issues with it for several years, which Schneider tech support is aware of, but hasn't been able to fix. The latest version of Machine Expert (v2.2) appears to have broken some of the functionality altogether. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone else using this platform for serial communication.

It's probably because you have an INT in the input to the MUL function, which will then try to output an INT as well. INT variables can only handle values of -32768 to 32767. Your value of 523000 won't fit in an INT, so it turns into an invalid number. Use a DINT. This is usually better for working with time values anyway, because time values are all 32 bit. Or if you can't, use INT_TO_DINT(gvlp.detectie_nalooptijd_s) in the input to the MUL function.

Hi albert1999 and forest, I hope you are well. I too am wondering if you have found any solutions? Im working with a RPi and a Omron R88D-ETH servo amplifier. The SoftMotion is timing out after 30min without the license, but I cant figure out how to license it, and I seem to have some compatibility issues between my RPi license and any SoftMotion licenses. Did you guys have any luck? Thank you very much for any assistance offered. Toby

Hello I am using FTP_CLIENT to donwnload/Upload a text or CSV file from FTP server. UpLoading from PLC to FTP server is working without any problem but when I try to download from FTP server I get an error. The FTP_CLIENT Block allows me to add URL but I do not where I can specify the direcory to save the downloaded file... is there anyone has an experience with downloading from FTP server using FTP_CLIENT block. Hi guys, I am new to the Visualization. I am having a problem. I have multiple web-panel to use webvisu. I have my software dowwloaded into the one PFC200. There are 3 screens connected to it. I noticed that if I switch page/visualisation on one of the screens, the others will change as well. Three screens are with different URLs that I set in the software. Is there any method to make them independently ? Kind regards, Jin.

I have not gotten to the bottom of this yet no. I have double check that the variables are correct linked. When online with the program I can see the button and rung going true for the move instruction, yet it does not change. Forcing the bit in the program does change the value in Groov View. I am kind of at a loss here, especially since the other POU(For the pumps) does the same thing fine.

Hi, I recently got a license for Raspberry Pi, after license activation I made a backup copy of "CMLicenseNew.WibuCmRaU" file to a safe place. Things got complicated and I tried to downgrade OS for some reason after that I tried several times/ways to restore my license with no luck. the specifications are as follows: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.1 codesyscontrol 4.10.0.0 SDK 3.5.19.30 Logs: **** ERROR: CodeMWriteLicenseFile: 'CMLicenseNew.WibuCmRaU' failed: Container not found or Server dose not support .... Hi everyone! I synchronize the operation of the tripod and the conveyor. I have a problem with the product tracking algorithm on the conveyor (PCS_1). Sometimes I need to stop tracking a product on command without completing the operation. I do this using MC_GroupStop. But when I need to start moving in WCS again (using fb movelinearabsolute), I get a tripod kinematics error - SMC_CP_INVALID_ORIENTATION (Invalid orientation (non-orthonormal matrix or non-unit quaternion, internal error)). MC_ResetGroup does not help. What could be the problem? Has anyone encountered this?

Hi, thank you for replying. Basically, I have a main visu with frame selection. So, under some condition the frame will switch to a specific frame. It used to be controlled by variable using "Switch frame variable". However, I realise it will change all the HMI screen at one time. So I removed the variable, and still looking for a solution to do that. Do you have any idea?

It's good that you've found a workaround. But it's bad that you need one. The array length auf my struct is 16. My struct also contains other arrays of structs. It contains a total of 1716 variables. I have tested saving and loading extensively under version 4.3.0.0. It looks good. I couldn’t find any problems. Maybe it helps to reinstall the update (see previous post). Otherwise you could try my test project (first post). This should work with version 4.3.0.0.

You should ask IFM to provide you with the correct version of their controller packages. Then after you have installed this, you can select the correct version of the controller by right clicking on it in the device tree, update device, enable the option "Display all versions" and then select the version which matches your controller. Alternatively you can ask IFM to provide an update package which can update the runtime version on your controller to 3.2.0.0.

okay, no ideas. So i made a new fresh image for the raspberry, so far,so good. Licensing the new image was no problem. And, after having trouble while read write files on the raspberry pi, i found the solution for these file operations with the Variable ForceIecFilePath in the CODESYSControl.cfg file. Hi everybody We are currently working on a project with an RS232 serial COM interface and using the CAA SerialCOM library. We have it working fine reading and writing data, although we have found an issue we cannot resolve and any suggestions would be helpful. We have noticed that after a while the RS232 stops working. We have tracked this down to the HANDLE hCom keeps increasing and when this reaches 1023 the COM returns an unknown error "5003". Is there a way to reset this hCom reference? Thanks Richard

Man, this was a long time ago. I think the problem probably stemmed from not loading the certificates from the client and the server on the server and client respectively in the correct manner. I believe I ended up getting around it just by removing all security on the server. In the end we did not move forward with that architecture so I never had to actually fix it.

The generic sensor FB is for controlling the sensor via its cyclic input (PDI) and output (PDO). In this case, ifm raw cyclic input and output data are WORDs (16 bits total) The PDO data from the Buerkert unit are SINT (8 bits) In this case, I would use the unpackword fb from the CAA memory library to unpack the valve feed back value into the appropriate location.

I bought and installed SoftMotion Light now. When I try to add a SoftMotion Light Axis to my stepper drive and I go online it shows: "The license is missing or invalid". See picture What am I doing wrong? This is the right way right? First add your EtherCat XML-File from your stepper driver and then add the SoftMotion Light axis right? Thanks for your help esave

there is a new problem with latest bootloader version. I don't know the details of jsonArrayWriter, but the common behaviour for an xExecute input is that the FB starts on the trigger that it gets TRUE. In your case xExecute is never FALSE, so it is never triggered again to start the jsonArrayWriter. So change the condition from TRUE to a variable which you set to TRUE with the "xFirst". Then when the jsonArrayWriter is done (xDone), or has an error (xError), then set this variable to FALSE.

Why will it retain the sum value from the last call? This is how PLC work. Usually variables only get initialized after a download or a reset (i.e. power loss). RETAIN variables are saved in a special kind of RAM and keep their value after a power loss. To initialize variables on every call of your FB use the VAR TEMP block. VAR_TEMP sum : INT; END_VAR

I have been trying to set an array value to a JSON structure of this form: {"key": [1,2,3,4]} While I have been able to create the key and set its value to an empty array, I've not had any luck in putting any value in that array. objindex:= fb_JBuilder.SetKeyWithArray("Key6", diParentIndex := diRootIndex); objindex2:= fb_JBuilder.SetValue(value:= iValue2, diParentIndex:= objindex); iValue2: ARRAY[0..3] OF INT:= [1,2,3,4]; The two lines of code above produce {"key6": []} . The second line essentially has no effect.

Hello, what would be the most efficient way to check whether the file exists or not. I don't want to use file.Open function, it seems like rather inefficiet operaton. I considered GetAttribute function, but this function doesn't accept filename (with path) as an input. Basically I need to check first time when program is loaded to the runtime i.e. when application is started for the first time, whether a file exists on the specific location or not.

It turns out that you can build JSON structures without ever calling the JSONBuilder function block directly. Instead, create a pointer to JSON.JSONData and invoke the necessary methods on its dereference. The parent object has a parent index of -1 (and an index of 0). EVERY other item (including keys, values, empty arrays and sub-objects) created by the setX methods needs the index to increase by 1. Then use the JSONByteArrayWriter FB to generate your JSON string

Hello, i am trying to find a way how to open Dialogs on a Single Visu. The options from VU.Globals are Target and WebVisu, but Webvisu opens the Dialog on both WebVisus and it should be separated. CurrentVisu can only be used when the Dialog is called from the Visu, but its all done in the Code. One Webvisu is for the User and one is for diagnostic reasons, and they should not be interfered from each other. Maybe someone can help me with this. Thanks
