I have been struggling for over a week to program my rapspberry pi 4 with codesys. I purchased the license. I installed the runtime and the gateway, and I can see the pi in the communication settings. But cannot log in. I have checked the status of the pi with sudo systemctl status codesyscontrol and it is running. I have enabled traffic to and from the pi with iptables and checked the logs and all looks good. I just cannot connect through the codesys ide. Can anyone help me before I lose my mind?

Hi all, I've played a bit with the VisuUserManagement library, and some other security option in my project, and I started getting this error when logging in - see attached pic. something to do with a specific screen in the library - VUM_Login. Also, Codesys started to ask me to log in to the library when logging in, asking to log in as user of the groups Maintainer or Owner, which I dont know either users (attached pic). when I close the login screen and try to log in to the PLC again, everything works again until I close and open Codesys. I do use user and password to login to the PLC, and this login screen is fine I know the user and pass I setup. anyone know what did I do wrong here and how to fix it?

With a machine I'm working with i get a communication error when I'm updating some softstop limits. As soon as I update the code the drives do not want to operate. Using the MC_readStatus I'm receiving errors as soon as i want to start a movement. Using MC_ReadAxisError i see that i receive error 131, no response. With a SMC3_ETC_ReadParameter_CoE i do not recieve any driver errors. Does anyone know how i can figure out what the error is and how to solve it. When i go back to the old software no errors occur. Im working with a legacy machine running a Beijer PLC with some Mitsubishi drives. running on Codesys 3.5 SP10. the runtime version is probably 3.5.3. The drives are all Ethercat Drives (CoE). All using the SM3_drive_ETC libary and the SM3_basic library.

Hi, I would like to divide a project into multiple applications - as a minimum: one handling visualization and Alarm Manager, one handling I/O and plant control logic. But how to exchange variables between the applications? What have you done to get such a solution? In versions 3.5.19 and earlier, you can have Child applications, where the children can access a GVL in the Parent application. Children apps is no longer possible in 3.5.20 - but you can have 'sibling' apps - Several apps directly under PLC Logic, that is. But how do they best communicate? The Communication Manager / Data Sources Manager is sort of possible via OPC UA, but it seems like overkill and with some limitations - for example no ARRAY OF STRUCT possible this way. If you have separate devices in your project, you can exchange data via 'CODESYS ApplicationV3', but not other applications in the same device (see attachment Datasources.png). You can do it via 'Select the project type'->'Other Project' and select the same project file, but this leads to crashing the Development system when working with the variables afterwards. It would be great to hear your thoughts / experiences on this topic - Bjarne

Hello, I would like to ask whether it is technically supported (and practically achievable) to combine CODESYS Master Redundancy with EtherCAT ring (loop) redundancy in the same system. System setup CODESYS version: CODESYS 3.5.21.40 CODESYS Control SL for Weidmuller u-OS-4.12.2.0 Controllers (Masters): Weidmuller UC20-M4000 ×2, configured as Active / Standby using CODESYS redundancy EtherCAT Slaves: Weidmuller UR20-FBC-EC ×3, supporting EtherCAT ring / line break detection Topology: EtherCAT ring (loop) Main question Is it officially supported to use: ・CODESYS PLC/Master redundancy (Active/Standby) and ・EtherCAT ring topology (for cable redundancy) at the same time? Expected behavior Our expectation is: ・When the Active PLC fails, the Standby PLC becomes Active ・The Standby PLC then takes over the role of EtherCAT Master ・EtherCAT communication is re-established ・I/O control continues after reinitialization (a short interruption is acceptable; no strict bumpless requirement) We do not expect completely seamless / zero-cycle switchover, but we want to understand: ・Whether this combination is supported by design ・Or whether there are known limitations or restrictions when EtherCAT ring mode is used together with Master redundancy Clarification At this stage, the question is mainly about feasibility and support, not about a specific error message yet. I have a XY chart in a visualization that is working fine, all lines are presented correctly. When I present the XY chart visualization in a frame, it seemes as no values are recorded, all lines are zero. When i open the visualization containing the XY chart in e!cockpit i see the lines are presented correctly but still not in the frame. Any ideas?

Thanks for your responses. The close listener sounds like an interesting approach, will have to see what I can do with it. I actually solved it as suggested by sturmghost by setting an enum variable to a certain state as soon as I open a dialog. This way I always know which dialog was opened last.
