Same for me. I have problems with UAExpert too. Can't see the Current Value of Enum and can't control. Did some Tests with Python opcua library. Not working with the communication manager so far.

Update as of 2025: This function (IECStringUtils.FormatDateTime) doesn't make any sense there isn't any parameter that accepts a Date_Time value. I have no idea what's purpose even is. I am going to use StuSprintf from the StringUtils library for this purpose.

Hi! I was thinking of switching the OPC server config from "Symbol Configuration" to the "Communication manager" in the device tree. I Have a lot of arrays of structs that I have previously declared in the "Persistent Variable" object in the device tree. It seems as it is not supported to directly expose persistant variables to the OPC server like the "older" way of doing it in the symbol config. Is this correct? Do you recommend to just do it the old fashioned way, or should I edit the structure of the global variable list / persistant data / OPC server and set up the OPC server from the "Communication manager" object?

Hello, We use a controller that comes with a bunch of predefined faults. These faults are considered active and historic. They are a 32 byte array but only take up 26 bytes of data. Because of this the historic faults start at address 26 instead of 31. Active faults variable take up address location 0 to 31. Historic faults variable take up address location 26 to 57. Because of this overlap I get an error that these overlap and it wont allow me to download to my controller. This isn't an issue in 3.5.5.4 but becomes an issue in newer version. Is there a way to turn this off? If I change the address location, the historic faults then become broken without doing some manipulation in the code. The software will build just fine. Hi there. I have an issue to read and set time for the controller. In the issue many registers described as writable by 6/16 functions, and, in this time, also(!) readable! For example: I have time registers: min, hour, day, mon, year. By specifications it is possible check time (so I need always update these varibles in loop) and set time by writing these same registers, BUT how to set, if they will immediatle updated by current time after writing? So, I need to separate one address at two variables. I have seen option mark: Overlay of the process image by the holding and input register. I understand this so: When I READ by function 3, I will get variable that connected with the same INPUT address and when I WRITE by 6/16 this will change second variable that connected with HOLDING address. BUT, this mark doesnt work, when I write 6/16 and try to get by function 3, I will get written value instead INPUT variable. So, what to do?

Hello everyone, I hope you can help me with my problem. I am new to programming and am currently working with a WAGO controller in our lab, which controls a heat pump. My goal is to send the electrical power of the heat pump (Pel_WP) via a UDP connection to a specific IP address. I am using Codesys version 2.3 and following the guide I found here: https://forge.codesys.com/forum/de/396/genmed-Konfiguration%20der%20UDP%20Kommunikation%20Cosesys%20S7.pdf. I have adapted the guide to suit my needs. The data sending works since I can force the reception value Pel_WP and the data is sent accordingly. However, I am having trouble with the receiving part. The reception value is not being correctly received, and the diSocket variable shows -1. The connection between the heat pump and the WAGO controller seems to be set up correctly, as the heat pump is listed under the communication parameters with the correct IP address. I have also attached images to provide a better view of the setup. I would greatly appreciate any support or suggestions for a solution. Thank you in advance!

One thing you could do is create an object with the variable as field with a function and procedure to get the variable (read) and set the variable (write). These are then called from your program and the vizualization.

I had a similar error "Invalid ERR Ack input". What you need to do is link an variable from the "non-safe" PLC to the Group IOs of the POU in the Safety app. * Add a POU to the SafetyApp (probably already done, otherwise you don't get this error) * Right click on this POU - select properties * Go to the Group IOs tab * Link a variable to the Err.Ackn. input I don't know about the Size of zero, I didn't get this error. Were you able to fix this?

I have developped a function block 'Axis' the inherits from 'AXIS_REF_SM3' -> FUNCTION_BLOCK Axis EXTENDS AXIS_REF_SM3 In my global variable list I define a variable MasterDrive of type Axis and assign Axis1. Axis1 is a virtual drive (AXIS_REF_VIRTUAL_SM3). This type should inherit from AXIS_REF_VIRTUAL. VAR_GLOBAL MasterDrive : Axis := Axis1; However I get the error 'Cannot convert type'. What is the way to obtain what I want : function block inheriting AXIS_REF_SM3 and initialising this function block with a Softmotion virtual or real axis?

I have noticed on the standard numpad dialog, if a user enters a purely decimal number (ie '.6'), the numpad will not accept the value but gives no indication. One must type a leading zero (ie '0.6') in order for it to work. Is there a way to correct this so that a user can just type the decimal value?

Hi Georg, thanks for your time. What is the value of D_ANGLE_TOL? It is set to 0.01. Do you need the assignment bAbort := NOT bDecoder? Does it help to leave it out? This seems to make no difference. Any errors (e.g. SMC_SmoothPath.Error/ErrorID) or PLC log messages? No errors or log messages. What if you comment out SMC_SmoothMerge and SMC_LimtiDynamics, is corner smoothing still not working? Indeed. Is bDecode written from a different task (e.g. visu)? Then I would recommend to assign to a local variable (bDecodeLocal := bDecode) and use that for all FBs. Otherwise, FBs might see different values of bDecode in a single cycle, which will cause problems. It is a local variable, written from a state machine inside this program. But there is new information: During some trial and error, I tried skipping "stage 2: merge short linear segments" (SMC_SmoothMerge). And suddenly it rounds the corners, see attached image. Looking a bit closer, I noticed that (with the original program) after a download (cold start?), it in fact did round the corners, but only once. Ever next cycle in which the NC program was executed, the corners where not rounded. Not sure if there is any relation, but SMC_SmoothMerge is also the only FB which has no bAbort input. Perhaps I need to reset it (or any buffers) by other means?

Hello everyone, I'm using the IoT Library to implement the MQTT communication with my local broker server in order to publish and subscribe at specifics topics to share and consume information about my application. But, it seems that are occurring some memory leak problem in a "high" frequency (more than 10 Hz) subscribe process. I follow the same method as in IoT Lib exemples, and at first looks perfect but my PLC was rebooting frequently and when I check its memory usage that was increasing as fast as the subscribe massage was sent. I'm using a WEG PLC410 and a WEG PLC500, and this error occurred in both of them (including in CODESYS Control Win x64). The application sends to the system a message JSON with the float payload Ex. {"data" : 0.8500}, but this happens with a INT, or BOL as well. Hello there, I am new here and in programming. I need help with the basics. I am trying to do what I mentioned in the title. I have an analog input. So I have a real or integer data type value. I want to delay it. TON and TOF only work with bool. I think there is a function block that has two inputs, 1 for real or int and 1 for bool. And if bool is true, it will give the output as real or int. I don't know but I need something like this. Actually, it is not exactly like that. In other words, it will not show the real value at the input at the output after a certain period of time. I want it to show the real value from 2 seconds ago continuously. The purpose of doing this is to compare the real value I received with the value from 2 seconds ago and find out whether it went up or down. I am using only FBD. Please help me with this. Thanks in advance.
