Hi everyone, I would appreciate your help with a problem I've been working on for a few days but haven't been able to resolve. I am reading data from a Siemens PAC3220 energy analyzer using Modbus with Wago-8202. However, the device's energy indices are given as doubles. Since a double variable is 64-bit, it is not possible to read it directly. I have been struggling for days, I have written many conversion functions but I have not been able to get results. I would appreciate your help. I read 4 word variables and processed them. I am converting them according to IEEE-754, but I can't seem to read the correct data. I would appreciate your help.

Ohhh OK. Yeah this seems to be timing like you said. Yeah I read through that document and came to the same conclusion. I haven't tried setting them both to 200ms. Maybe I'll give it a shot. Thanks so much for your input. Its greatly apreciated.

Hi, I am trying to get a basic safety application to download but I keep getting an "Invalid ERR Ack input" and "The Standard Inputs Size of zero is not allowed". I am simply using 2 safety inputs through an "AND" block to 2 safety outputs. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Trevor.

Thanks for your responses. The close listener sounds like an interesting approach, will have to see what I can do with it. I actually solved it as suggested by sturmghost by setting an enum variable to a certain state as soon as I open a dialog. This way I always know which dialog was opened last.

What worked for me with this error was to go to Tools -> Update Raspberry Pi, select Install, and from the popup screen, there are options to change your installation (I changed it to single core, instead of multicore), and I was then able to connect to my Rpi 4.

Sometimes you just need to pose a question on a forum and re-read it to get clarity. pGeoInfo := SMC_GetObj(poq:=ADR(fbCncInterpreter.poqDataOut), n:=1); This won't work, I'm providing a pointer to a pointer, as poqDataOut is already a pointer! I just need to remove the ADR() and it works. pGeoInfo := SMC_GetObj(poq:=fbCncInterpreter.poqDataOut, n:=1);

I found some structured text code which contained this statement: bHidden:= TRUE(*NOT _somevariable*) I haven't seen TRUE() used like a function before, and I also haven't seen the enclosing asterisks * * before. What do they do? (sorry if this is a duplicate question, I don't know what words to use to search for this syntax)

You can consider using OR_ELSE: Coils[0] := Coils[0] OR_ELSE (Buttons[0] AND Sensors[0] > 6); https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_operator_or_else.html IF Coils[0] is TRUE, then the rest is not relevant anymore and doesn't have to be evaluated anymore. PS, there is also an AND_THEN https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_operator_and_then.html

Thanks for your responses. I like to write the leanest possible code that I can because it makes it much easier to read/maintain/debug. OR_ELSE is what I was looking for. I wasn't sure if CodeSys short-circuited evaluation and I didn't realize this operator existed. Thanks!

We have similar issues, with crashing PLCs, but this ranges from 3.5.16.40 to 3.5.19.70. Which log made you confirm the exception crash? I am currently looking for evidence of what causes our PLCs to crash. Network stability could be an issue with latest security roll-outs like 802.1X and segregation.

To search for an exact phrase, put it in quotes. Example: "getting started docs"
To exclude a word or phrase, put a dash in front of it. Example: docs -help
To search on specific fields, use these field names instead of a general text search. You can group with AND or OR.
