Hello all, I am working in a project in which there are multiple Modbus TCP slaves. I need to be able to change the IP addresses of those devices from the HMI and I was planning to use the process depicted here: https://faq.codesys.com/display/CDSFAQ/Modbus+TCP+Slave%3A+Dynamic+Setting+of+the+IP+Address I can see the port number is what is used to specify which slave device we want to modify the IP address of. This said, can I freely set arbitrary port numbers to each device? I mean, can I set the first device to be at port 502, the second one at port 503... Any drawback or restriction? Is there any other way to reference to the device without having to change the port numbers? Thank you all in advance.

Hi Sir Kevin. May I know how you came up with this solution. Im a bit confused but I tried to put this. [SysCom] Linux.Devicefile=/dev/ttyRS48 (remember, no 5 at the end!) then set com port in codesys to 6. It also works for me but want to know where did you get this. Thank you.

This... is not very practical for me - as I have a bunch of different classes - it's just doesn't seems to be very practical to define a NULL for each of them... Something like this I use in parameter definitions. For example: VAR_INPUT refVFD_Drive : REFERENCE TO FB_VFD_Drive := GVL_DUMMY.Dummy_VFD; END_VAR I use this to prepare objects for code I don't control: Typycally visualizations - had many troubles with references set on the fly, right before opening a corresponding visualization... And yes, the instance in GVL_Dummy reports itself as "Fake", so it does not influence the actual application at all. Actually this way I could invalidate a reference, just to set it to a "Dummy" instance.

I feel like this is a setting issue and I can't seem to find the right setting. I have a new project that I'm looking to add visualizations to however when I select my template size (1280 x 800) I make sure in my properties under the visualization tab, I have "Use specified visualization size" selected and my width set at 1280 and height set at 800. Now within my visualization editor I can't see to get the size outside of my template to grey out. I've attached a PDF showing what I'd like the visualization editor to look like and what mine currently looks like. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone, I have a web visualization on Codesys and to be able to use the web visualization first an user and a password is requested. After the user logged in, I want to automatically change the visualization to the 'Home' visualization but I am not sure how to do this. In the login visualization I basically have a button with the input configuration to execute the action 'Login' after a click. Once the user is logged in, the visualization is still stuck in the login page and I want to automatically change to Home visualization if the user was succesfully logged in. How can I know the number of web visualization clients connected to my PLC? Thanks in advance

How large and how complex? It's tough to make a recommendation without additional details. The simplest thing is to just use data arrays (or even arrays of arrays). Goodmorning, I would need to set a control station that can manage a PLC network. In short I need to access to all visu programmed in any PLC of the network (LAN). I was thinking to use a PLC with buttons that call, by mean an IP address, the visu of any PLC. I don't know if it is possible but I saw that there is a RemoteVisuTarget that run CODESYS Control Win V3. Can someone suggest me how to create a remote main control station from a normal PC? Hello, I am trying to connect to my PLC (IFM CR711S) via VPN(EWON COSY). I have been told to use Gateway SP14 or higher. I installed CODESYS 3.5 SP20 Patch4. In the Codesys Installer Software I can sleect "Set Gateway Service" and I do so for CODESYS 3.5 SP20 Patch4. I can start the Gateyay and select About and it shows: "CoDeSys Gateway V3 - x64 Version 3.5.20.40" (see attached) For compatibility reasons I have to run my PLC code in 3.5 SP11 and when I start I can first connect but then somehow the system restarts an older version of the Gateway only displaying: "CoDeSys Gateway V3" (see attached) I guess my question is how to run an old Cocesys Software with a new Gateway?

We resolved by going to Local Group Policy Editor > Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Windows Settings> Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options. Set "System Cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing" to DISABLED

Hi kporter, a more direct way would be to use SMC_FollowPosition to write the set positions directly to the servo drive. This FB has reacts on changes of the fSetPosition on each call, without a need for a rising edge on Execute. Are you using the Control Win SL (installed together with the development environment of CODESYS)? If yes, you might want to consider using the CODESYS RTE instead. This has real-time capabilities (running on separate core(s)). But to be able to use this, you have to install the CODESYS Ethernet driver for your network interface to be able to let the RTE access the network port also in realtime. See: https://store.codesys.com/en/codesys-control-rte-sl-bundle.html https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/_rtsl_windows_rts_v3.html PS, I haven't tested this myself yet, but you could try to use the SetCommunicationState method of the Profinet controller to see if you can reset and start the bus communication: result := PN_Controller.SetCommunicationState(eRequestedState := DED.DEVICE_TRANSITION_STATE.START); PS, if you are located in the Netherlands or Belgium, we could also provide the license(s) for you.
