Thanks for your responses. The close listener sounds like an interesting approach, will have to see what I can do with it. I actually solved it as suggested by sturmghost by setting an enum variable to a certain state as soon as I open a dialog. This way I always know which dialog was opened last.

You can enable "Sync Producing" in the configuration of the CANopen Manager. Then this manager will send a SYNC message every interval you set. Depending on your PDO configuration, the CAN nodes can send a PDO on every Sync (cyclic-synchronous). If this is not possible, then as alternative you can send a low level CAN message with COB-ID 16#80.

Bitmap Image (outlined in Red in attachment) with it’s configure window open in Codesys 2.3.9.55. Image doesn’t show-up in on-line Web Visu (this project only). No problem with bitmap images in all other codesys 2.3 projects. Web visu in Internet Explorer since 2.3 Web visualizations don't work in Edge.

1) In the library manager of your project select "Download missing libraries". 2) In the library manager open the "Placeholders" dialog. In here find the Placeholder which is not referenced to a specific library yet. Click in this line on the Library column and select the latest version of this library.

If you want to use the Test Manager, I prefer to start all the tests through the scripts of this manager. So open from there the projects, load it and run it. If you also want to use Python scripts to access CODESYS functionality, while executing a Test Manager script, then also start them from the Test Manager commands.

For anyone with this issue, you may need to: Open the text list properties (right-click the text list once you create it). Select the Text List tab. Change the Download by option to Visualization. I was fighting this for so long. Once you do that, you should find your text list appears in the drop down when editing a visualisation.

Hey, you probably already solved this, But I am posting to anyone coming over this thread with the same issue. Just hold your mouse cursor til black screen pops up. Right click and Left Click Maximize. There Something wrong with how the window minimizes in Codesys. Only happens once in a while. God luck to anyone with the same problem.

I have a Control Win V3.5 SP20 (64-bit) application, and until now, I open the program (with a password) and download it. However, I need to give the client the option to install the program on the Controller, without them having to open it and access the code. So, I followed these steps: 1 – In the Online => Create Boot Application menu, I saved the generated files in a directory: Application.app Application.crc PlcLogic\visu\ directory with several files 2 – In the SysTray, I ran the PLC, and it created a directory. In the root of this directory (C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\E84889DB), I pasted Application.app and Application.crc. Since it created a \visu directory, I pasted the PlcLogic\visu\ files generated in Create Boot Application into it. 3 - In the general Codesys directory (C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64), I edited CodesysControl.cfg, adding: [CmpLog] Application.1=Application 4 - When running the PLC, nothing happens and the TargetVisu screen does not open. What I'm doing wrong?

Hello, We are trying to implement an automated method of adding of a certificate and private key to the Windows certificate store for encrypting CODESYS projects. We want to do this so that users do not have to deal with details of certificates at all and to prevent user error. We are keen on enforcing strong private key protection since it ensures that a password is required for the certificate to be used to decrypt a CODESYS project. When we add a certificate to the certificate store and enable strong key protection using the Microsoft Management Console Certificates snap-in, it works as expected. However, through this method the user may mistakenly not enable strong private key protection. For the certificates we create programmatically (using Microsoft’s Cryptography Next Generation API in .Net 7) bag attributes are added to the certificate and key by the API. These bag attributes are as follows: Bag Attributes localKeyID: 01 00 00 00 subject=C = xx, ST = xxx, O = xxx, OU = xxx, CN = xxx issuer=C = xx, ST = xxx, L = xxx, O = xxx, OU = xxx, CN = xxx -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- [encoded certificate] -----END CERTIFICATE----- After using this certificate with bag attributes to encrypt a CODESYS project, it can’t be decrypted, showing this error: "The specified project could not be loaded. Possible reasons might be: - The project file is corrupted or invalid - The project has been saved with a newer version of the programming system. If this is the case, you can open the project in the corresponding version. Choose "Save as..." with the appropriate storage version, and retry again. - You may not have the necessary permissions to lad the project" We know that the bag attributes are causing the issue because if we manually edit the certificate file to remove them before using the certificate to encrypt a project, the project can be decrypted as expected. However, we are unable to automatically enforce strong key protection using this method. Hi, I found the same issue, and I fixed with this steps: 1st go to codesys .cfg file. sudo nano CODESYSControl.cfg Then insert this: [SysProcess] BasePriority=Realtime Command=AllowAll Now we need to grant codesys root rights on Linux. Step 1: Create or edit the systemd override configuration: sudo systemctl edit codesyscontrol In the editor that opens, insert: [Service] User=root Save and exit: Press Ctrl+O to save Press Ctrl+X to exit Step 2: Reload systemd and reboot To apply the override: sudo systemctl daemon-reexec sudo systemctl daemon-reload sudo reboot Step 3: Confirm CODESYS is running as root After reboot, open the terminal and run: ps aux | grep codesyscontrol You should see something like: root 1234 ... /opt/codesys/bin/codesyscontrol.bin ... If instead it shows admin or another user, the override was not applied correctly. Step 4: (Optional) Confirm from within CODESYS In your CODESYS project, insert this test code to run the Linux command whoami: Make sure the lib SysProcessImplementation, SysTypes, and CmpErrors is on the project. Hi, Is there a process to restore Persistence Manager files? I have backups of persistence variables used in a machine that is currently operating and tuned and all set points adjusted. There are about 500 persistence variables, they are building another identical machine. I would like to use Persistence Manager files from the first machine in the second also. I have tried copying the files and replacing them on the new RPI but then the Persistence Manager gets errors and then they are all reset to 0 etc I have tried adjusting the times to match. Instead of replacing whole file, I tried just changing the contents inside the file, but still does not work. I may be missing something here, but surely there must be a way to load a backup. Thanks!

Some developers export ST code manually and edit it in VSCode, then copy it back. However, a more practical approach might be using automation scripts (PowerShell, Python) to extract and inject code into the CODESYS project. You could also check if CODESYS Automation Server or CODESYS API allows better ST access for external tools. https://www.codesys.com/the-system/releases-updates-lifecycle/release-plan-roadmap.html Network drive issues are particularly painful. As a mitigation, you could try using local project storage with periodic cloud sync instead of directly saving to a network drive. Using Rsync or Syncthing for automatic but safe synchronization might reduce risks of file corruption.
