Hi, Might be a good idea first to try out the connection and the device with some handy software, like Modbus Poll. There you can see better, what's really going on... - Is it really connected? - What error code does it return? - Can it read from the register address? - Maybe try Input registers and Holding Registers - can make a difference - Sometimes register addresses are messed up: shifted +-1 (mixing of 2 standards) - Sometimes register addresses start with offset 30000, 40000 ... - Are you using the right protocol? - Is it RTU or TCP? Maybe ASCII? - Can even have a look at the data packets, etc... All this is easier to figure out first with some modbus utility... and then to set it up in CODESYS should not be an issue. P.

Hello! I have tried read a file to the string variable. But I faced a problem - there is about 2800 bytes of information in file, but string have a limit 2393 bytes. I made two variables with same address (for automatic convertion) - string[3000] and array of bytes[1..3000]. And I noticed that array of bytes contains all information from file, but string shows only first 2393 bytes. So I have lost information. Is there really such a limitation? Or I have an error in my program and Codesys 2.3 have no limit for such kind of conversation between string and array of bytes? Thank you very much!

Hi All, I have problem with ModbusFB.ClientSerial. I'm using 4 different port for Modbus communication. After some time of running program ClientSerial stops to receive data to reply buffer and all request finish with Reply Timeout. The Device sent reply correctly,that it is visible on oscilloscope and it is possible to see that data( reply )are in the device. If the usbtty device is read over external app. then it is possible to see all data which were not taken by ModbusFB.ClientSerial. The stack does not overflow or something , program runs correctly forward and no exceptions or something. The main problem it is that when the error occur than it is not possible to reset port or something or maybe i'm doing it wrong way. please help me with this issue. I had a similar error "Invalid ERR Ack input". What you need to do is link an variable from the "non-safe" PLC to the Group IOs of the POU in the Safety app. * Add a POU to the SafetyApp (probably already done, otherwise you don't get this error) * Right click on this POU - select properties * Go to the Group IOs tab * Link a variable to the Err.Ackn. input I don't know about the Size of zero, I didn't get this error. Were you able to fix this?

Hello, I currently have my trend configured with a maximum size limit of 5MB (additional settings can be seen in the attached image). However, I am encountering an error related to this trend, specifically within the TrendStorageAccess library. The device log shows the following message: TrendStorageAccess: prvCheckForSizeLimit (see the attached image for details). Does anyone know the reason for this error? Hi all I'm having a little trouble get my axis to work. i can turn them off and on. i can run each servo manually inputting directly to the mapping address. as soon as i try to use any FB's like jog etc my servos wont move and error out. so far I've had error "SMC_ERROR.SMC_DI-POSITIONLAGERROR" and another one about not calling a fb. cheers. in the attachment I have just jogged X_Axis with the MC_JOG FB

Thats is: The dynamic limits for the movement are invalid. What can i do that this error go away? I saw a view funcitons with limit dymanics but i don't now how they work. If i use the function MC_MoveLinearAbsolute than i have no error. Does anyone know how i fix this?

Hi All, I'm using codesys on a raspberry PI. I use V3.5 SP18 Patch 2 development system and codesys for raspberry pi 4.8.0.0. Sometimes when I build the project I get error messages C0007: Expression expected instead of ',' and C0032: Cannot convert type 'Unknow type: '!!!'ERROR'!!!" to type 'POINTER TO IoConfigParameter'. I can't click on the message to bring me to the fault. After I do a "Clean all" the build finishes successful. Anyone who can help me with this problem? Thanks! Remco Borghuis

I'm installed the CODESYS Control for Linux SL package and am trying to use the Extension API to call a simple C function. When I get to the step to run "make all" on the Linux machine, I get the error: build interface header: out/CmpFirstTestItf.h from CmpFirstTestItf.m4 ERROR: This functionname does not contain _cext (this is mandatory, see help for details): DEF_API(void',CDECL',external_struct__fb_init',(external_struct_fb_init_struct *p)',1,0x1F77E075,0x00000001) Why does "Generate Runtime System Files" create a function that does not have cext in the name? I've had issues getting the raspistepper installed, all due to errors upon installation. The closest I get is the pictured error. The functions are in the sm3_shared library. I can add this library but that leaves 2 issues. I don't actually know, and I really want to understand this, why the required dependencies haven't been installed correctly. If I add the library it's only available with through the namespace. What can I do to both understand and resolve this? Hi aniket-b, this error has nothing to do with the scara3 kinematics, or robotics, or SoftMotion. It means that the EtherCAT bus is not synchronized. The usual cause is that the realtime of the PLC is not sufficient. See https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20SoftMotion/_sm_basic_common_errors.html for details and ways to solve the problem. Hello, Recently I was trying to run 6DOF robot in codesys via SMC_Trafo_ArticulatedRobot_6DOF, unfortunately no matter what parameters I tried, it always outputs InvalidConfig Error. I saw the same issue in a topic: https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Motion/thread/16e1f0327f/ But if I understand correctly, the user solved it by developing his own version of this block. I wanted to know if it is a bug in the library (SM3_CNC 4.20.0.0) or am I doing something wrong? Can anyone confirm that they can use the FB without it reporing the Error? Kind regards,

I have a DFRobot RS485 temperature & humidity sensor (SEN0438) connected to my Raspberry Pi via a USB to RS485 adapter. I am able to connect and read the sensor data when running a python code locally. However in Codesys, I encounter this error "A bus error has occurred." and "There was no response in time". Could this be because of Modbus Server Channel and Modbus Server Init configuration on my part? Admittedly I am new to Codesys. To get to this stage, I: 1. added some lines to CODESYSControl_User.cfg 2. added "Modbus_COM" in Codesys and set "Serial Port Configuration" under "General" 3. added "Modbus_Master_COM_Port" in Codesys and checked transmission mode is set to "RTU" 4. added "Modbus_Slave_COM_Port" in Codesys and checked server address is set to 1 (also set 1 in my sensor) 5. added 1 channel and 1 init for "Modbus_Slave_COM_Port" under "Modbus Server Channel" and "Modbus Server Init"

I am currently attempting to modify the SMC_GeoInfo objects in the SMC_OutQueue using the code below. Note that all the other code is pretty standard and works fine, but when I add the below it errors.
