Hi Guys, I am new to this forum and i would like to ask od anyone got communication with Siemens v20 vfd working via Modbus RTU? I followed many websites and finally got the communication working but have problema with read/write registers. For example if i try to read holding register 40011 which is accel time i get noth but when i set the offset 0x0000 en length 113 i get ale the registers. I cannot get speed control working. I read someth about stw (control Word) and hsw but have some problems to understand it en get it working. It would be really nice if someone could help me with it. Thx

Hello everyone, I'm currently trying to set up a FileTransfer function from a Webvisu to my Raspberry Pi 5 on Codesys 3.5 SP 19 Patch 6. I went in the files CODESYSControl.cfg and CODESYSControl_User.cfg and added : [CmpWebServerHandlerV3] AllowFileTransferServices=1 And it seems to be working. However, I cannot access my several Webvisu without putting my login. That's a problem because one of my webvisu is in kiosk mode on the raspberry itself and there is nokeyboard attached, it's just an information screen, but I can't view it. Is there a wey to enable the File Transfer without requiring to login ? Thank you for your time

Hi Automa, it seems the solution you were bringing up on 2022-04-06 could really help me as I did not remember the password I initially set. My problem though is that I am using Codesys Control Win V3.5 SP19/60 (64 bit) and I cannot locate any of the files you listed up there. I have been looking inside folder: C:\Program Files\CODESYS 3.5.19.60\CODESYS\ and they appear not to be present at all neither in the CODESYS folder or any sub-folders. Uninstalling and re-installing unfortunately does not do the trick. Any idea how I could get out of the ditch on this issue ? Anyone else maybe ? Thanks

Hello, I bought some licenses from CODESYS store. I am trying to install licenses into my device(CODESYS Control for Linux ARM64 SL). But I have a trouble with it. I did it in the following order. Tool -> License Manager Selected Device and Next... Selected Soft container and Next... Select the device and Ok.. And then I always show a message "Licensing info not available. There is no dongle attached to the device." And I tried to click "Install Licenses" button. I saw the message "The value cannot be NULL. Parameter name : continerToLicenses" Could you let me know what I've missed or what I've got wrong?

I can write: Add_EVT_OUT := DWORD#0; But is this the correct way? Is there any constant I could use instead, like "NULL"? Or this is totally wrong and to be avoided?

I have a project made on a PL700 PLC with Codesys and an Asem Premium HMI panel. I don't have access to the physical PLC right now, so I'm trying to use Codesys Control Win V3 x64. I created the application and loaded "Codesys Control Win V3 x64" without errors, then I activate "Start PLC" from the tray. Asem cannot connect. I tried to use "localhost" or the local IP address and it doesn't work (it's the "CoDeSys Soft PLC Communication Driver"). I need to connect my local Asem runtime to a virtual Codesys application on my PC. How can I do it?

Hello everyone, I just installed Codesys SP19 Patch 4 on Windows 11 and every time I open Codesys I get an error that says (Attached image): 'One or more issues ocurred with the current versio profile. Please contact the vendor to resolve these problems. The plug-in {....} (Exactly 4.15.0.0) is required by the current version profile., but has not been installed. It is highly recommended that the tools is terminated. Do you wanto to terminate now?' I cannot install any package since I get this error everytime I open or try to install any package. Can someone help me please, thanks in advanced

For anyone still experiencing this issue, here’s how I managed to solve it: Symptoms: 1. Sometimes, on the first start of CODESYS Runtime, the modules fail to run. 2. After disconnecting and reconnecting the communication cable, the drive does not start again. 3. MC_Reset cannot clear the fault. Solution (what worked for me): 1. Check the axis communication using the SMC_CheckAxisCommunication function block (FB). 2. If CheckAxisCommunication.eComState of the axis is equal to or higher than SMC_CommunicationState.SMC_COMSTATE_BASE_COM_INITIALIZATION, then 3. Use the SMC3_ReinitDrive function block to reset the drive — and it works. Hi bertus, I cannot see any problem in the code you posted. Just some ideas: What is the value of D_ANGLE_TOL? - Do you need the assignment bAbort := NOT bDecoder? Does it help to leave it out? Any errors (e.g. SMC_SmoothPath.Error/ErrorID) or PLC log messages? What if you comment out SMC_SmoothMerge and SMC_LimtiDynamics, is corner smoothing still not working? Is bDecode written from a different task (e.g. visu)? Then I would recommend to assign to a local variable (bDecodeLocal := bDecode) and use that for all FBs. Otherwise, FBs might see different values of bDecode in a single cycle, which will cause problems. Regards, Georg

Hello, I would like to use swipe/pan gestures to scroll a table visualization element (CODESYS 3.5.21.10) on a DSE M810 display. The swipe / pan gesture control works fine, however, I cannot figure out how to reset / navigate to the top of the table again with code. I have tried the Scrolling begin variable, and the visu manager is setting it to FALSE right away but the table doesn't actually scroll back to top. If I check the “Scroll elements with scrollbar” box, then the Scrolling begin variable works perfectly, but now the swipe/pan scrolling no longer works and you have to use the scrollbar. Is it possible to do what I've described? Any assitence you can provide is appreciated. Thanks.

Hello. Has anyone here used project compare tool across different versions of Codesys? I tried the compare of the title but it does not seem to do much. It lets me choose the project files and then seems to be comparing but no results are ever shown. If the compare tool cannot be used how else would I keep 2 nearly identical projects in sync when the versions differ? On the other hand it might be possible to just have one project but then I would need to use the older codesys with older target device description to develop for devices that have newer device description. Codesys will let me do that but its not recommending it. Any advice?

EtherCAT is a point-to-point protocol so it doesn't need a unique MAC address. It would be very useful to set the MAC address to 020000000000, the standard address for this kind of application. (The important bit is the 02 at the start of the address, which means locally-administered MAC.) The stock Windows driver can do this for my i210 card. But the CODESYS CmpEt1000MPD driver cannot. The image shows the setting with the Windows driver. If I set all my customers' cards to this address, then I don't need to deal with this when deploying my application. A simple PowerShell script can be used to set the MAC address once when the NIC is installed and the driver is changed.

Internal compiler error in SP22.x (expLValue null) — SP21 unaffected — need help isolating root cause I'm hitting the same internal compiler crash reported here. Same exact stack trace (AssignmentStatementReplacer → CreateAssignmentExpression → ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: expLValue), but in my case triggered by a self-written library, not a Visualization object — so this looks like a general SP22.x codegen regression rather than something tied to one specific language feature. What I've confirmed: Reverting to SP21 — no issue, builds clean SP22.x — internal compiler crash during Build > Application, code generation phase, with zero useful location info (no POU, no line number) check_for_errors/precompile-only passes cleanly; the crash only happens on a real full build, meaning static analysis never sees it coming What I've tried to isolate the cause (without success): Removed a suspected pattern involving a VAR_IN_OUT parameter used directly as a FOR-loop control variable, combined with early RETURN inside the loop — crash persisted identically afterward Confirmed no Visualization Manager or similar object in the project (ruling out the trigger in the linked report) Used an AI coding assistant (Claude Code) to search for other suspicious patterns — no luck pinpointing the exact statement Question @codesys-com Since the compiler gives no location info at all, is there any way to get more diagnostic output from the SP22.x codegen phase (verbose/debug build flags, log level settings, etc.)? Without that, isolating this in a large library means blind bisection — cutting the codebase in half repeatedly until the crash disappears, which is slow and error-prone without official tooling support. I am trying to create an icon on an overview screen that depicts if an alarm group has active alarms, active acknowledged alarms, or inactive unacknowledged alarms (waiting for confirmation). I've attempted to set up Notification Actions in the Alarm Class to set variables based on state changes but have been unable to find a clean and effective way to do this. Because an action on any alarm will trigger the variable to be set as instructed, I'm struggling to find a way to configure it for what I need (ie if two alarms activate, then one deactivates, the variable for indicating an alarm is active would be cleared after the single deactivation). I've been pointed toward the Alarm Manager example project but I'm finding it too complicated to understand how to implement it in my own project. Has anyone come up with another good way to indicate the states of alarms or a simpler usage of the Alarm Manager functions?

To change the color of search result markings (the "find color") in the CODESYS Text Editor using Themes, follow these steps: Go to the menu: Tools → Options. In the Options dialog, select the Text editor category. Switch to the Theme tab. Here, you can select your desired color theme for the text editor. The available color schemes (themes) are stored in the installation directory in the Themes folder. To specifically adjust the color for search result markings, go to the Text Area tab within the Text editor options. Here, you can customize the Selection color – Inactive parameter, which determines the color used to highlight search results. Changing the theme will apply a new set of color settings, including those for selections and search highlights. I am attempting to place a block and make it an Analog sensor. When I go to change the name like in the instructional video on youtube it does not give me an option to autofill the block with a known configuration. This is a problem I have in Codesys 2.5 and 3.5. Did I mess up the install of the program or need to install a library? Hello, I´m connected to two drives via CANOPEN. The connection seems to be ok. However, I´m not able to get the PDOs to work even tho they are configured as in the manual of the drives. Looking at the SDOs I´ve seen that for each PDO there is a "Disable PDO" SDO that does not exist in the manual or in the EDS file of the drives. This "Disable PDO" signal has the same Index and Subindex as another SDO used to set and enable the COB-ID of the PDO. I´m assuming this is normal but why is Codesys creating a "Disable PDO" SDO for each PDO and could that be the reason the PDOs are not working?

Is there anybody can help me with the same problem? I have to migrate created project in ver.3.5.17.0 32BIT with runtime 4.7.0 to ver.3.5.20.0 64BIT with runtime 4.7.11.0 due to the new license. All the libraries and dependencies are updaded and there are no any errors. The first compilation and loading to the controller is being compleated well. After this being done and if I am forced to change any values or change any code in the current project, another compilation will be freezed. This problem can be solved if pressed Build/cleen or cleen all. There is another method to solve this; if project is loaded with excluded object (Alarm Configuration), repeated compilations will be done well.

I am using a Raspberry Pi 2B. Installed Codesys V3.5.20.1 64-bit and installed 'CODESYS Control for Raspberry PI 4.12.0.0' I am able to install the packages using the 'Update Raspberry Pi' option, but when I try to log into the RPi, in the Device tab it says 'Sacn fail. Please checl that the gateway is running and that its settings are correct'. My setup looks like this. I connected my RPi to my company LAN and also my laptop to company LAN (using HP Docking station). This setup worked when I installed 'CODESYS Control for Raspberry PI', but now I donot know how to configure the gateway. Could anyone please help me in finding what I have to enter in the gateway configuration? Thanks, Vamsi.

I’m operating with CODESYS in a 64-bit configuration and the Test Manager at version 5.1.0.0, where I’m attempting to use project scripts from an earlier version. These scripts call for certain test drivers that are not present in my installation. It’s unclear whether the absence is due to the 64-bit system, an update in the test drivers, or if I need to enable or install additional elements. For instance, the loadproject(Codesys.Base) command is missing, but loadproject(testmanager.project) is available. The FileIO command for CODESYS isn’t accessible, yet the testmanager’s driver for it exists, as does the execuptscript command.
