If i loose the network and the opcua data source suddenly looses connection with the server, i get an exception and my application stops working. I am using the latest version of the communication add v4.5.2.0 Is this a known issue? This makes the datasource unusable because it is inevitable that we will loose connectivity at some point, and the datasource crashing everything due to that seems to be a deal breaker. I can provide more details is someone from codesys is reading this. You can recreate is by just shutting off the Opc server after the codesys data source is connected and reading data from it. The codesys app does not crash everytime and sometimes it is able to reconnect without crashing, so you may have to try this a few times to see the exception. Best regards

Hello everyone, I am using an IFM CR0303 model PLC, which has a tilt sensor and a pressure sensor connected via CANopen. Both sensors are from the same brand (ATEK). I can read data from the tilt sensor without any issues, but I am unable to read data from the pressure sensor. I have added the EDS file in the PLC configuration and adjusted the node-ID settings. When I check with the PCAN-View application, I can see that the selected PDOs are coming through, but the data is not reaching the Codesys side. What could be the issue, and what can I try to resolve it? Can anyone help me?

Hi All, I have problem with ModbusFB.ClientSerial. I'm using 4 different port for Modbus communication. After some time of running program ClientSerial stops to receive data to reply buffer and all request finish with Reply Timeout. The Device sent reply correctly,that it is visible on oscilloscope and it is possible to see that data( reply )are in the device. If the usbtty device is read over external app. then it is possible to see all data which were not taken by ModbusFB.ClientSerial. The stack does not overflow or something , program runs correctly forward and no exceptions or something. The main problem it is that when the error occur than it is not possible to reset port or something or maybe i'm doing it wrong way. please help me with this issue. I'm having some troubles with this same issue and I'm wondering if someone can help me out. On a settings visual I allow the operator to enter some values however if they activate the page change button it will change the change with the Numpad dialog open. Since I'm using Visuelems.CURRENTVISU to change the pages I came across this code noted below for determining if the Numpad dialog was active. This code worked great however now in 3.5.19 it's now obsolete. I've tried following the directions in the attached program above however I can't see to get it to work in my program. Can anyone provide some help to determine if a dialog is open? Hi. As far as projects in "old version"s are concerned, these can be upgraded to newer versions at any time. To do this, the device must be updated accordingly and the copilers and library versions must be adapted. Verify that the OPC UA server is running and accessible. -You can try to connect to the OPC UA server using a separate client, such as UAExpert, to ensure that the issue is not related to the OPC UA server itself. Test the security settings in the OPC UA connection function block to ensure that the correct security policy and certificate are selected. If you are using a dynamic connection to the OPC UA server, probe that the connection settings are correctly configured and that the OPC UA client is able to establish a connection to the OPC UA server. Also, please loock into the log files for any errors related to the OPC UA connection function block, these should be listet there. The log files may also provide additional information about the issue and help you to further troubleshoot the problem. @eschwellinger do you have any examples of using a USB barcode scanner? I have read through the forums here and I am unable to find how to get the barcode data to populate in a text field without having to first click into the text field to activate it. Is there a library that allows you to access the barcode data? I am really new to this in general any help is greatly appreciated, hopefully you have a pretty clear example

The generic sensor FB is for controlling the sensor via its cyclic input (PDI) and output (PDO). In this case, ifm raw cyclic input and output data are WORDs (16 bits total) The PDO data from the Buerkert unit are SINT (8 bits) In this case, I would use the unpackword fb from the CAA memory library to unpack the valve feed back value into the appropriate location.

Just adding: sSubscriberdata := ''; Right before your memcopy should fix the extra characters. It is because your are copying 36 characters into a string which can contain more than 36 characters and there is garbage left in the extra characters. Regarding the parsing of json, I usually build a structure that mirrors the json data and use the available methods in the IIoT library to parse the data and fill the structure.

Ciao damian177, provo a chiederti un'informazione. Sul mio progetto Codesys(ver.3.5 SP17) non è visibile l'oggetto "Data Source Manager". Il PC con il progetto Codesys(client) è collegato via rete TCP ad un PLC Siemens1200(server). Sul PC con Codesys ho installato UAexpert(client) e riesco a vedere le variabili del PLC1200. Riesci ad aiutarmi a capire come mai non è visibile l'oggetto "Data Source Manager"? Molte grazie

Hi Trying to send csv file to c:\data\xxx.csv Im able to save to plclogic and after doing this https://forge.codesys.com/forge/talk/Runtime/thread/5cac1390b4/ i can now "file transfer" to host pc downloads. but still cant transfer to c:\ im sure i have done this in the past with older versions of the 3.5 ide? just concat the file name as c:\data\My_Filename.csv. any ideas? cheers

I am attempting to place a block and make it an Analog sensor. When I go to change the name like in the instructional video on youtube it does not give me an option to autofill the block with a known configuration. This is a problem I have in Codesys 2.5 and 3.5. Did I mess up the install of the program or need to install a library? I have default arguments specified for function block methods but when calling a method, an error is produced requiring me to supply all the arguments despite there being default values. According to the online documentation, under section "Calling a Method" and subsection "argument passing" of the following link: https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Development%20System/_cds_obj_method.html "Passing an argument for an input ... can be omitted ... for which a default or initial value was specified in the declaration..." I have found this to be the case for all Codesys IDEs I've used, 3.5.11, 3.5.16, 3.5.17, 3.5.19. Am I missing something?

Hello, I am working on an application where I need to remap PDOs to a different CANopen object during runtime depending on what value is at a specific register. I have gotten to the point where I put the device into Preoperational State using the CIA405.NMT function. I then reconfigure the PDO 180x and 1a0x obejcts usings SDOs to point to a new canopen object on the device however when I go to restart the Device from PREOP to OP using the CIA405.NMT function the device is reset back to the original configuration as per the initial setup. I am wondering is there any way to change the PDOs at runtime is there some more functionaility I can access to do this. Any direction is appreciated!

Hi all, I am trying to utilize the ARRAY_SDV standard deviation function, part of the Math group in the OSCAT library downloaded from the CODESYS store. My Codesys version is 3.5.19.10. When I add the OSCAT to my Library, it shows a subset of the library (Standard) as fully installed and signed (see pic). However, the Math functions are not in this Standard group. The Math functions I need can be viewed as source code in the full OSCAT_BASIC, though this the symbol next to this library suggests it is source only and not fully installed. When I try to declare an instance of the ARRAY_SDV function in a program, it is not known. I have tried reinstalling and Building . . . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jeff

Hi, Found a nice ramp function in the OSCAT lib (FT_RMP), but is there a nice way to 'set' the output to the current input as form of a reset. The reason for this, is that I want to set up a ramp for a pressure control input that should have x Bar/sec linear rise input. The only option (or code it by hand) I found is this OSCAT FB. Any other options? Just need to increase a value by x Bar/sec from let's say 250Bar (as start) to end 1500Bar. The Oscat ramp will always start at 0 when enable is off (FT_RMP.Rmp := FALSE)

Hi everyone, so a little update to this, I've come back to this project in the new year, and got it working. Yeah!, However, now with the new licensing setup, I need a new SoftMotion license, but it doesn't seem to be compatible with the previous Raspberry Pi SL license. Has anyone had any luck with Raspberry Pi and SoftMotion_Lite? Specifically the licensing of such? My customers new installation needs to be rebooted every 30min which is causing headaches! Another option is to not use the SoftMotion function blocks, and control the EtherCat amplifier directly, but I'm not sure how to do so. Does anyone have a specific example project of how to control a servo without the use of the SoftMotion function blocks? Thanks everyone for any assistance rendered. It's very much appreciated! Toby

Hi It looks like in the new ladder there is no way to remove unused FB call parameters or update the function block? It's quite often where you have a function block with multiple uses and not all the parameters are required. Need the ability to leave an input/output blank without getting an compile error Expression expected instead of '' Also double clicking on the FB no longer opens the underlying FB code and view what it was doing online. Dragging and dropping a variable does not work, only using the selection works. Will these be available in the V1.0 release or just best to stick to the old ladder until it's available? Thanks

Hello, I am seeing some weird runtime behavior related to the EQ function on a rapsberry pi based system. I have attached a screenshot showing the strange latching I am seeing on the EQ function, and I have not seen this behavior before. I tried freshly restarting the runtime and it has this same behavior. Anyone seen this? I am on 3.5.20 with the latest runtime installed. Basically, as soon as it hits one of those EQ's in the program, it latches effectively locking the output on. Any input from the Codesys team would be appreciated as well as anyone that might know what I am seeing.

In a recent project with SoftMotion 4.15.0.0, where I integrated two SD drives from CMZ (from catalogue EDS and not imported), on CANopen bus, I found that the SoftMotion MC_Reset function does not reset the drive faults. Even if the drive is in fault, either on the device or on the drive at the CoDeSys level, the function does not reset, instead reporting the error code: no error to reset. Finally, I had to connect the reset bit of the ControlWord directly to a tag in my program. Something I never had to do on other drives: Lexium, etc. all reset simply with MC_Reset.

(similar to "iol_call" in PROFINET or what’s used in EtherCAT).

If I am understanding what you are saying, then yes that would be your problem. I would create an array of bools on the client side for the transfer and try that. Or if client can't be changed then use words on server and unpack. But I am not sure if you or I are mis interpreting but it sounds a bit jumbled. I don't know what you have control of, but, if you are turning on BITS in the server, you should write to BITS in the client with a Function 15. If you are writing to WORDS in the server, you should write to WORDS in the client with a Function 16.

Hi, Is there a way to read the homed status from the EtherCAT drive directly? I am currently flagging the homed status on the succesful completion of the MC_Home function block, but I have had false triggers where the drive didn't actually execute the homing procedure but the MC_Home FB is marked as complete without error. I looked at other MC/SMC function blocks but the closest I can find is the "Homing" bit from MC_ReadStatus FB, but this doesn't show if the drive is succesfully homed, only that it's homing. Any guidance is welcome. Thanks!

Hello, I am already able to run an OPC UA method in Codesys. Now my question, how can I interact with other tasks (e.g. read an SDO from EtherCAT and return it by the function)? The OPC UA method seems to be called only once (I tried to return BOOL or UINT values). Up to now I only found to do a while loop to wait for the result of the other task. Is there a better way to do it? Is this the way OPC UA functions should be used (for "not too long" function calls) or should I use another mechanism (method: Start, event: Finish, method: getResult)? Regards
