How are the servo drives controlled? EtherCAT, step/dir pulses, other? CANOpen, 1 Mb/s, bus load 35%, cycle time 2ms. Another thought is that - if it's step/dir pulse based control - the pulses from the PLC to the drive are getting missed/lost at high frequencies? If that's the case then there would be multiple troubleshooting steps/corrections that could be investigated. Here, it seems to me that we are getting completely off track with the observed problem. You could try to create a simplified program I had already written this elsewhere. The program before being brought into machines was exhaustively tested in SW emulation and the problem did not occur. However, in emulation I was interested in checking other aspects of the process, not this specific one which is for real a correction made necessary after the fact. The part of the program that does this correction with the function mentioned in the topic, came up from its origins, but I didn't know or didn't think it was really useful. A scruple that later turned out to be necessary. However, for now I do not think I will spend any more time on this verification, already lacking any to do my normal. I remain amazed, however, that a function intended to correct the axis position with the motor in motion and that it should not interfere with this, in fact instead changes behavior as the motor speed changes. Mah! When you manually control the motor directly from the servo drive software at the speeds you are calling for, does it move precisely to the target position? The drive and motor have been working fine for about 10 years. In replacing the machine control system, I opted for CoDeSys where before there was something else. But this is not the subject of the problem. What I need to resolve is the fact that a clutch specially placed at a certain point can slip and, therefore, I have the undeniable need to phase the 'prime mover' to the mechanical position of the machine, detected by a cam for each turn, in order to properly stop at its optimum point. Which for now I have ruled out doing. In fact, if I really have to say, since we have now gone brutally OT, I originally thought that this clutch should only come into action in cases of extreme necessity, as happens in most trials. But this one, the way it is made, slips more easily than I could estimate and the servo-controlled 'prime mover,' and the machine, get out of phase, maybe by a little, but frequently, and when the machine work at it's high speed, (in fact all of the time), I can't adjust properly the 'prime mover' position at fly.

From your examples I was able to manage the different factories, even for custom elements. Now I need a hashtable, but with this object I’m running into a lot of random access violations. If I append something inside FB_Init after constructing the hashtable, it crashes, even though the list was already created. If I only create the hashtable in FB_Init and append afterwards, it usually works. Hi all. I am currently struggling to get my Wago PFC200 running the Codesys Runtime in version 4.9.0.0 working. I am using Codesys V3.5SP19. I updated the PFC200 to the firmware version 04.01.10(23) after having tried the latest version (04.03.03(25) from Wago and not being able to start the runtime. After reading version 23 was needed, I changed to that and at least was able to have it start the codesys runtime. I also installed the "Codesys Control for PFC200 SL 4.9.0.0" plugin for Codesys to install the Codesys runtime in version 4.9.0.0 as well as update the Gateway on the device. While I seem to be able to connect to the gateway on the PLC (the dot is green) and when doing a scan, I do now find my PFC200, which is a huge improvement to before, where with firmware version 25 it just failed to start the runtime and I never found any device when doing a scan. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to connect to the PLC in codesys. I logged in via SSH and changed the password and I can see that this password is correct as the stuff in the Codesys PFC200 tools tab only works if I use my changed password. And I used those credentials to update the installed Runtime version, which the log claimed to have worked fine. Now whenever I try to connect to the device found in the scan, I get a authentication pop-up with empy device name, device address: 000A. As User I use "root" and as password the password that I changed it to. As a response I just get "Ungültige Benutzerauthentifizierung auf dem Gerät" (Eng. probably something like "Invalid user authentication on the device". What could I be doing wrong? Hey Everyone, I'm having a bit of a struggle finding settings that will reliably maintain a connection between the webvisu and a touchscreen client. Every so often the HMI disconnects and will perpetually display the red spinning arrow with the "Error Happened, Will resume automatically" text. Power cycling the HMI to force a reconnect will re-establish comms. It seems to happen during periods of inactivity if that's a clue. From what I've gathered so far this seems to have something to do with the webvisu update rate, buffer size as well as the visu task scan rate. We first tried the default settings as follows: Webvisu Update Rate: 200 ms Webvisu Buffer Size: 50,000 Visu Task Scan Rate: 100 ms Priority 31 Other Tasks for Reference: Main Task Scan Rate: 100 ms Priority 1 Alarm Manager Scan Rate: 50 ms Priority 31 Ethercat Task: 4 ms Priority 1 This would disconnect some what regularly. We then made the following changes to try and stabilize: Webvisu Update Rate: 150 ms Webvisu Buffer Size: 75,000 Visu Task Scan Rate: 75 ms Kept other tasks the same. This seems to disconnect even more frequently. Also for reference the network is very small and only consists of the PLC, a small switch and the HMI. We're also not controlling frames from outside the visu program itself. The frame changes are all done natively. Any suggestions to get this to stop disconnecting? Oh and whatever the issue is the log does not record it. Figured I would ask here before opening a ticket. Thanks in advance for your help!

Such bash script detect the presence of new .deb files and install them on system. My automation solution don't allow to be maintained by dedicated personal, thus even the CODESYS runtime SW must be installed using an "automatic" procedure instead of using the CODESYS tool. remark I've been using the following procedure since the runtime v4.5 without any issue. Before installing the new runtime packages, I need to copy the file CODESYSControl_User.cfg (here attached) because of new section which is necessary to add in order to allow some folders to be written by CODESYS runtime v4.9 Up to now, this has been unnecessary, this is the main difference between my previos bash file and the new one. remark If I skip this action, everythings goes fine, but my CODESYS application can't work as it needs to access some folders on controller's file system. Hi yotaro, hope your problem was resolved. I had the same, but with an other library title. This exception is not detected during compilation, but rather at a given position in the program (when switching to a given visualization). Although the exception is generated at this point, it does not involve the visualization in question. This error is due to one of 3 reasons: 1) A division by zero somewhere: The program is able to detect divisions by zero at compile time. But in the case of a variable, which takes a valid value at init and changes to 0 at a later stage. 2) An invalid pointer: (either because it has a value of 0, or because it points outside the memory reserved for the program) is being dereferenced. Locate any pointers or interfaces you have in the code and check them - you should also be wary of mixing inline modifications and pointers. 3) Array overflow: Generally when a processing operation is executed outside the array's definition range. Example: a write loop with n iterations is executed on an array of dimmension n-1. On the other hand, the error message may not appear. In the latter case, the error may have fatal consequences, as the overflow has induced writing to potentially forbidden memory areas. This problem can be explained by the fact that it's not always the adjacent memory areas of PLC_PRG that are overwritten, but the memory areas that are randomly allocated to the array during compilation. In this case, however, there is no entry in the log, so you need to integrate the "Implicit Check function", which checks the line of code generating the error. Yes, this is the error the sometimes show up. What make me crazy is the fact that it happens randomly and not each times. I know very well where the problem is, in wich one program row it's located. For each actions of the state machine I have all events recorded with log on text file. it is not problematic for me to find the application point of the fault, but I need to understand why occasionally and for no apparent reason, switching the state machine and thus changing the motion FB, sends the axis into failure (but only occasionally). For example, one case that is often problematic is the execution of the Axis Halt instruction. When, after a MoveAbosulte instruction this returns the event as 'done' and indeed the axis is in standstill, the state machine first sets the move instruction to FALSE, and the next cycle sets the Halt request to TRUE. Some of the time everything works out fine. Occasionally, however, in this exchange, the axis goes into fault, also losing the OPERATIONAL state. Meanwhile, I would like to understand why the motion FB instances must still be called even after the Execute is set to FALSE, especially in view of the fact that the next instruction is programmed to abort the previous one, with BufferMode set to 'Aborting'. All these unnecessary FB calls are an unnecessary overhead on the CPU anyway. Is there any precise rule about when to cease calling the various instances? (It should precisely be the 'done' status that says this one has finished its work).

Hello everyone, I have been given the task to develop I/O drivers for a custom made, Linux based board to allow for Codesys applications to run and control the hardware. I have successfully installed Codesys Control SL for ARM/Linux and tested it with a simple demo application. Now I should start interfacing the runtime to the actual hardware; I should be able to interact with 2 RS485 serial ports, a few GPIOs and an I2C port, all of which already have the corresponding /dev/ interface in the Linux system. I am having trouble understanding how it should be approached. I have found sporadic references that fail to lead to a really comprehensive documentation. For example: The store page (https://store.codesys.com/en/codesys-control-for-linux-arm-sl-1.html#options) mentions a "runtime package" that should allow "Integration of existing C code" and "Usage of local I/Os", which seems exactly what I need to interact with custom peripherals. I have found no further reference to Codesys-C interpop. The Codesys Help page for the runtime package has a page on the "Development of Drivers" (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/CODESYS%20Control/rtsllinuxrbpdriverdevelopment.html) that suggests to either "Implement a function block" or "Implement I/O drivers". Those in turn lead to this page (https://forge.codesys.com/drv/io-drivers/doc/Generic/) which describes briefly an XML schema to describe new devices; unfortunately, it doesn't mention what to do with such a description (i.e. how does the runtime know about it) or how it is in any way connected to the actual hardware. Could anyone give me some pointers? I should also mention I have no prior experience with Codesys, so maybe I'm missing an obvious answer.

hello kevinrn, I've been looking for a solution to the CI/CD issue for a long time. Briefly about me... I am 32 and software architect for Codesys V3 and fullstack dev for web (VueJS, NestJS) in a small company in Erfurt (Germany). https://www.rex-at.de/. Through my web part, we already have CI/CD running well via GitLab (YAML-based configuration file (.gitlab-ci.yml), which defines which pipelines and jobs are executed when certain events occur) with everything you know. Stages for npm packages - prepare (GitVersion, npm install or whatever) - build (vite, tsc or whatever) - testing (vitest, jest or whatever) - deploy (npm packages) And similar for monorepo's or backend services (in NestJS) as DockerImages. For Codesys we have been building an OOP framework for years (~50 libraries now), which is currently managed via SVN and a specially written Svn-Watcher (in Python) gets commits and runs and builds everything together and deploys it to an FTP server and network drive. Why do we still have SVN? Because we are unfortunately still tied to the safety integration of Codesys and can therefore only go to SP15 at most with our controller/Eckelmann. But soon there will be an update and there will be no more obstacles to using Git. Hence my questions: 1. the basic idea is to run a local Windows Runner on some machine? 2. install Codesys on the machine where the runner is running? 3. powershell & python scripts are then used to execute builds (compile, build, sign libraries) & deploys? 4. can the Github action also be used in GitLab? ChatGPT has already told me that it's not the same, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Do you have any ideas on this? Greetings :D

Hello, After some more tests, here is what I found out. It seems we have to increase the uiKeepAlive and tPingInterval parameters. If I increase the uiKeepAlive value to 60s and the tPingInterval to 30s, then if I disconnect the ethernet cable from Codesys and publish some messages to which Codesys subscribes to and then reconnect within 30s, I will get the messages. If I don't reconnect the cable within 30s (ping interval), the client goes in error with "ACKNOWLEDGE_TIMEOUT". When this happens, it will not automatically reconnect after reconnecting the cable. I have to disable and re-enable the client but I will not get the published messages. I need to do more tests because there are a lot of weird things happening when playing with the ping interval and the keep alive. It is not clear to me what does what. I even ended up not receiving messages anymore, even if I disabled and re-enabled the mqtt client. The client did not give any error. The only way I was able to get messages again was by modifying my client ID. After that, if I try to re-use one of the old client IDs, nothing works (publish, subscribe) and I get a TCP_INIT_ERROR and sometimes a TCP_READ_ERROR. I need more explanation/documentation about these weird behaviors. Maybe it is the way I use it, maybe it is related to the broker (I am using Mosquitto with default parameters). When using a Node-Red client, everything works perfectly. I am trying to achieve the same behavior with Codesys but it seems impossible so far.

Hello, we have the same problem here. Our configuration in the following: Codesys V3.5 SP19 running on Exor Exware700Q Profinet network connected on Eth1 IOLink Master Turck TBEN-S2-4IOL version 3.5.9.0 IOLink sensors E+H & Sick (Pressure, T°) We installed the codesys IO link package and have the codesys IO Link SL licence activated (on a dongle) Our problem is the following: we got the IODD files from E+H & Sick we add the devices in the codesys device repository with success They appear in the devices tree under IODD branch We added the TBEN IOLink master under the Profinet IO . The IO link master are ok and display online. The IO-Link SL package datasheet indicate that there would be a way to scan the IOLink device from the network but we did not find any way to trigger this scan. (we expect to get this from a right click on each IO-Link Master module but the only possibility there is "Plug device") When clicking on Plug Device, we get a browse window with profinet IO modules. The IODD devices are not there so we cannot select them. But other devices for other brands are available and can be plugged. Our question are : 1) how do we update the Profinet IO Module catalogue in order to be able to plug the E+H & Sick Sensors that we have to work with? 2) how do we activate the Scan IOLlink device that is supposed to be included in the Codesys IO-link package? 3) where can we find the manual explaining how to use this package?

Hello, I have problems with the I2C communication to an ADS7828 AD converter. I don't get any value back from the chip. I use a Kontron chip (ARM 32SC) with Linux as the operating system. I also use the CmpCharDevice library. Hi, I'm trying to launch a continuously running python script from Codesys and monitor the script status inside the Codesys runtime (running on a Linux enviroment). For now I'm testing with the below to emulate a continuously running Python script: #test.py i = 0 while True: i += 1 I'm able to successfully run the script using SysProcessExecuteCommand2 (I can see the Python process running in the task manager). However, this "freezes" the Codesys execution of the task - it sits on that command and will not continue until the Python script ends. I've proven this works by using the task monitor to kill the process, then Codesys continues on happily through the task. What I want to do is use SysProcessCreate2 to set up the Python script as a background task and monitor the process using SysProcessGetState. This always results in the error "ERR_OPERATION_DENIED". I know that I'm able to execute commands (as above), so my config should be correct. Is SysProcessCreate2 functional on a Linux environment? Is there something in the config file I'm missing? Hi, yes now its working, to get "QUEUE.bFull" to work, I've had to set the "QUEUE.nNumReservedEntries" to 3. (I tried different values here, only effect for larger values i can see is the the queue capacity gets smaller.) I've noticed the movement is slowing down when it reaches the end of the "fill Up", must be because of the "checkVelocity" can only see the current "QUEUE". Any way of solving this ? Hi CoDeSys support forum, hope that this is the correct place to ask this. Might be double as i am new to Codesys and dont know all terminology. I am trying to test Codesys with a virtual plc on a raspberry pi 5. Already figured that i need Tools -> Deploy Control SL, enter Communication parameters. Codesys says "Connected". Then tab "Deployment", there i select "CODESYS Control for Raspberri Pi SL" and "4.16.0.0 (all)". Click "Install" and the gui turns grey and unresponsive. The titlebar says "Untitled1.project - CODESYS (Not Responding)" as well. Restarting Codesys and checking shows no package was installed. How to deploy the runtime? Thank you in advance for your time. Edit: After some patience, an error showed up: "Error when sending ssh heartbeat: Session operation has timed out" "Error installing codesyscontrol" Any pointers to what remote command might have failed, or log of some sort, would be welcome. Thank you very much for the quick answer! The RPi hw were delivered last week so it's probably a resent version. I found an old scrapped board (2 years or so) with a broken GPIO that I tested with the same SD card image and with that board Codeys can run for the full 2h demo period without issues. Then I went back the the new board to test the 4.17.0.0 release but the installation fails... [INFORMATION] Standard output: create and install daemon [INFORMATION] Standard output: codesyscontrol started [WARNING] Unable to detect Raspberry Pi Architecture. Setting armv6l as default, you can change this through the settings panel. [INFORMATION] Standard output: codesyscontrol stopped [ERROR] Expected exit value of command failed: expected 0, received 1 [WARNING] Error setting the Raspberry Pi Architecture [ERROR] Error installing codesyscontrol Do you have any idea what could be the reason?
