I have a project in Codesys v3.5 sp19 patch2 that contains softmotion virtual axes. I want to simulation the code (softmotion) on the simulated plc on the pc. The controller in the project is a Codesys Softmotion Win V3 x64. I have started up the Codesys Softmotion Win 64 on the pc. However it seems a 3.5 sp14 controller. When trying to download the project, I get a message that target system is different from connected system (3.5.19 vs 3.5.14). How do I set the connected system to 3.5.20 (there seems no way to set the target system to 3.5.14

Hello? I have a problem with datasource... I am trying to connect to a OPCUA server. I create a datasource, but I can not login into it. I need to use login credentials to login... Everything works fine in UAExpert, but in codesys I cant seem to get in properly using the login credentials... I have tried to configure the datasource initializer but seem to keep failing... Do I need to call it somewhere ? Will the find endpoints work with this configured to store my password ? !

Do you think it is something in this library, that makes it possible to do the configuration in a PRG? https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/IODrvEtherCATDriver/Current/IoDrvEtherCAT.html#id1 I think the codesys modbus libraries support configuration and connection to modbus slaves without having to add the slave devices in the device tree. Just do it from function blocks inside the program. I was hoping for something similar with EtherCAT.

Hello! I am new to codesys so I am sorry if this is not the right place to ask this question. I am using codesys V3.5 SP20 Patch 1 + (64-bit) and a Groov EPIC PLC (GRV-EPIC-PR2). I am trying to build and deploy my application to the PLC, but when I log in I get 6 errors (codesys_error.png). It seems that the errors have to do with the CmpDynamicText system library which I have as version 3.5.20.0. I have tried to add CmpDynamicText to the ComponentManager section in the PLC's CODESYSControl.cfg file as described in this forum post and still hit the same error. I noticed that the library is grayed out in the library manager, which I think might be the issue. However I don't remember if it was grayed out before I encountered this issue. Please let me know if I can provide anymore info. Thank you!!!

How would i know if the board / relays i buy will be working with Codesys? Does every hat work or does it need a library/driver? is there a list of drivers/libraries created? as this is a hobby project all tips on a relay board or single boards that works with codesys and not to expensive are very welcome.

The SoftMotion is timing out after 30min without the license, but I cant figure out how to license it, and I seem to have some compatibility issues between my RPi license and any SoftMotion licenses. Hi, a few suggestions on how to tackle the problem: - it might help to increase the cycle time of the ethercat task - increase the value of the ethercat parameter DCInSyncWindow (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/IODrvEtherCATDriver/Current/pou-IoDrvEtherCAT/DCInSyncWindow.html) (see attached image) - enable FrameAtTaskStart (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/IODrvEtherCATDriver/Current/pou-IoDrvEtherCAT/FrameAtTaskStart.html) in the ethercat master (see attached image) - if the drives can handle the synchronization problems, checking of the synchronization can be deactivated using SMC_Set_ETC_DCSyncSupervision (https://content.helpme-codesys.com/en/libs/SM3_Drive_ETC/Current/SMC_Set_ETC_DCSyncSupervision.html).

Unfortunately, I noticed that I am not using the MQTT client SL, but the AzureMQTTClient from the Azure IoT Hub Client SL library. At first glance, there is no parameter to increase the message size. Does anyone know how to increase this in the library or is it simply not possible here?

I am trying to implement a mechanism to send alarm SMS. For this, I have created an Alarm Class with a Notification Action which calls a POU. This POU implements IAlarmNotifiable making it selectable in the Alarm Class configuration. IAlarmNotifiable has an Execute method which is called by the alarm class. Now, I want to extract the alarm message of the triggered alarm. The Execute method comes with a VAR_INPUT itfAlarm: AlarmManager.IAlarm which supplies a method called GetMessage. The help text says: Returns the message text, that has been configured for the alarm. The result is a pointer to the buffer, where the message text is stored The type of the result is CharBufferPtr, and at some place I read that it can be interpreted as a pointer to string. But I cannot manage to extract the alarm message, all I get are numbers. I have tried the following: psAlarmText := itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^; sAlarmText := TO_STRING( itfAlarm.GetMessage(__SYSTEM.TYPE_CLASS.TYPE_STRING)^ ); So how do I get access to the alarm message as clear text? Hi there, I have a Keyence bar code reader connected to my plc through Ethernet/IP. The Bar code is 20 digits long (like 30100790020493036016), the scanner reads it correctly (I can verify that through the keyence software) but when it sends it through ETH/IP, it doesn't fit into a 64 bit variable and it trunks the data.(I've tried ULINT and LWord without success). When I loaded the EDS file, the read variable was defined as a byte with 128 bits length, which is quite strange for me. (see attached picture) How do I manage this variable? Thanks!

Hello That's certainly CiA402. I'll attach a part of the manual for my servos, but the state diagram should be the same at yours. To be sure, get one from your manufacturer. Look at the bits in the StatusWord to see where you are in the diagram, then twiddle the bits in the ControlWord to get you to the next step. Then there are other bits in the StatusWord to tell you 'InPosition' and things like that. From the screenshot, as it mentions only 'PositionProfile' the driver will create the motion profile. So you need to put a target position in here - there should be profile velocity somewhere? Possibly, you need to write these with SDO's? At the minimum, you need to write a value to 0x6081, 0x6083 and 0x6084 (velocity, accel, decel)

you need to set the increments to 10 (the screenshot shows 10000 hex = 65536). all the turn settings to 1. and the application units to 366. But usually you use the resolver resolution per motor turn. Insert the gear ratios (1:1 for no gear) and the last field you put the circumference of your drive wheel.

Hi All, I finally figured out how to solve it. The only away that I got it to work was to define parity to None on modbus configuration, and now works like a charm. Just for the record I'm using the GPIO port pins (8,10) and a RS485 to ttl shield that you can find online. Thanks all for the support! Regards Ricardo
