I have a simulation function that toggle xSimActive. I map all IO variables to "IO GVLs" when xSimActive=0. I map IO corresponding SimIO GVL to "IO GVLs" when xSimActive=1. Then I write code for the simulation program that runs when xSimActive=1. Typically increase flow corresponding to pump speed, simulate tankfilling corresponding to flow and so on. I made a FC that require a correct code to activate simulation to avoid unintended activation by service dept. When comissioned remove any possibility to activate simulation. Super when officetesting and supporting service dept. + cheap as it requires no additional equipment, and it is easier to support customer later on in the life cycle as you can test proposed changes without setting up a testlab.

I'm getting this error on one of my projects. Searching for it I came across this https://www.codesys.com/fileadmin/data/Images/System/Releaseinformation/Patch-Note-CODESYS-Visualization-4300.html which says it was a bug VIS-1394, fixed in Visualization 4.3.0.0. I'm using a previous visu version, what is the cause of this error, and what can be done to work around it?

Hi after some assistance with an error on a Groov PR2 PLC. We have a few different communications set up as shown below: One Modbus TCP Slave Connection - ( Sending / Receiving Data from a PC ) Two Modbus TCP Master Connection - ( Reading Data from a UPS Panel and Reading Data Gas Chromatograph) One Modbus RTU Slave Connection 485 - (Reading Data from a fire and gas panel) One Modbus RTU Master Connection 485 - (Sending Data to a Telemetry Unit) All Licenses have been installed as per OPTO22 suggestions of the order below: Modbus TCP Master Modbus TCP Slave Modbus RTU Master Modbus RTU Slave When I check on License manager the RTU Master license seems to disappear on installing the RTU. (What ever reason I’ve been told this is “normal”). If I use Device License Read It will successfully read all the licenses correctly. Now the issue is every 2 hours and between 4. For what ever reason the communications seems to end and lock up for about 20 seconds. During this time even if I was logged into the PLC it would kick me off and I’d have to re type the password to enter. Most of the devices can handle this however the RTU flags up a communications failure at the SCADA and is raising alarms every 2 hours and 4 mins. We’ve had multiple people go through the code to check for anything obvious. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello everyone, I created a visualization with a lot of REAL, with one or two digits after the decimal point. This causes me problems in terms of rounding and memory... is it possible to display an integer with a comma, like with PROFACE or SIEMENS? It's just an "abuse" of display, the comma is just on the visualization. This limits the memory (16 versus 64 bytes) and rounding is easier to manage... See print screen on proface software THANKS

I have noticed on the standard numpad dialog, if a user enters a purely decimal number (ie '.6'), the numpad will not accept the value but gives no indication. One must type a leading zero (ie '0.6') in order for it to work. Is there a way to correct this so that a user can just type the decimal value?

Hello everyone, I'm encountering an issue in CODESYS regarding writing files to external paths. Despite correctly configuring the placeholder in the CODESYSControl_User.cfg file to allow access to an external folder, CODESYS doesn't seem to write any files, and no errors are reported. The issue on the older versions was absent with no placeholders. I've checked the operating system permissions, and they seem to be in order, but the issue remains. Has anyone faced a similar situation or has any suggestions on how I might resolve this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your support. Hi, I'm currently reading and writing several registers with a Modbus TCP server as a subdevice of a Modbus TCP Client. If I read and write cyclically, there are no issues. The problem is this: I see there is also the option to write by "Application", which I would like to use. However, I don't know With the Modbus RTU client, I see there is a trigger variable, xTrigger, to trigger the writing tasks. However, I can't find any such trigger for the Modbus TCP Client. Does anybody know how to implement the trigger behavior for the Modbus TCP client? In particular, I struggle to find the exact "trigger" variable. I'm running Modbus Client version 4.4.0.0 Thanks in advance!

Hello jacobwago, I believe that the limit is fixed in the editor, but not in the driver package. There seems to be no link between the driver setting and the editor. Otherwise, I don't know why the input (>10) is blocked, but the function is available. Unfortunately, I cannot offer you any other solution apart from the one mentioned above. Kind regards

Forgot to describe the pictures. Modbus1: is the actual configuration in codesys 3.5 Modbus2: is the config in WAGO I/O Modbus3: is the configuration from the old one with Beckhoff twincat (we are changing from Beckhoff to wago and codesys)

Thanks for info... However, I changed the directory to: C:\ProgramData\CODESYS\CODESYSControlWinV3x64\58719825\PlcLogic\Recipes It still displays the content of this folder OK, however still will not write or read files. Is this the PLCLogic area you speak of? I also tried adding this path the the CodesysControl.cfg file. But still can't get it to work. Any additional direction would be appreciated!

Hello :) We are currently configuring a system with Codesys as SoftPLC on a Linux system and with Beckhoff terminals. I have already gained some experience with Codesys and also with TwinCat incl. TwinCAT Safety. What is new to me now is Codesys in conjunction with Beckhoff safety terminals. We are currently using an EL1918 & EL2904 here. I have been able to integrate both terminals into my project, but I don't know how to interconnect them so that they communicate. That's a bit easier with Twincat ^^ Can any of you help me? I would also prefer a Codesys EtherCAT Safety training or webinar if anyone knows of one. Unfortunately I can't find such an event on the internet.
