Hello I'm currently working on a project where I need to implement visualisation in Codesys on Raspberry Pi via web browser. I'm uing Codesys IDE V. 3.5 and I was able to successfully run my program and visualisation using generic elements provided by Codesys on Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4. However I am dissatisifed by the limiations and looks of generic elements. I would like to create my own components for this specific task (like cyclic buffer with messege boxes or matrix of data structures). How do people develop their own visualisation components in Codesys and how to implement them in a project?

I got this code working again. 3S/CoDeSys, your level of obfuscation and lack of documentation turns a simple task into a monumental complex challenge. The issue was that at some point the IecVarAccessLibrary changed and no longer allowed using IBaseTreeNode to retrieve a child or the number of children. The attached code has been updated to use IIecVarAccess6.VarAccBrowseGetChildByIndex instead. The code was also cleaned up but is still a work in progress. The current example only works one layer deep. This means native data types, arrays, and single-layer structures are supported. However, structure arrays and nested structures are not yet supported.

Hello, CODESYS Control is running on my RevPi, and my system communicates over a CANbus with a master using the ConnectCan module (Slave - CANopen Device). The communication works perfectly fine so far. However, as soon as I call a Python script with "SysProcessExecuteCommand2" that creates a CSV file and executes without errors, the master does not adopt any changes to the Transmission Process Data Objects (TPDOs). I don't quite understand what one has to do with the other, and perhaps someone can help me with this. Greetings to all, I'm working on a webvisu project on control win V3 x64 runtime, and have purchased 3 licenses for my application. -Codesys Control Standard M -Codesys Visualization L -Codesys Communication M I have them installed on a Codesys usb dongle When I try to download the program, a login error window appears with the message "No valid license found for the webvisualization". The control win v3 communicates with 3 plc, and have enabled communication over codesys V3 communication by adding one datasource for every plc in the datamanager. If I remove the data manager from the project, the rest of the visualisation can be downloaded normally. Do I need to purchase another License and which one? Please find attached the software metrics and the error screen.

Hello everyone. I hope this is the right place to ask for help, this error is causing me a great amount of time loss and I really would like to end this nightmare. I don't know why but at times if I try to Browse -> Display Cross Reference on a variable Codesys just crashes. I'll attach the file with the complete crash report hoping someone can figure why it happend. I think that the unhandled exception comes from the PersisranceManager Module and is connected with the other big problem I'm facing: I cannot refactor in my project, if I'll try to refactor a POU name the whole POU will become "frozen", it's like its desynchronizing from the project and the project cannot find the pointer to the POU once I refactor it. And when I open the project a warning pop-up will show up with the frozen POUs name, but I cannot figure out what the warning is telling me. I'll attach every warning and error pop up the project is showing me, and thanks in advance to anyone who can figure something out.

After some more digging I realized that I get an error on the PLC Logger saying PersistenceChannel: 150 (invalid type in data: SimpleLibrary). I tried changing the PersistenceChannel parameters to xCompressTags := FALSE which changed the entry in the data file from _xCompressTags BOOL:TRUE _xCompressTags BOOL:FALSE but the actual content of the data file and also the config data did not change.

I found out that the Codesys simulation mode is not good to measure performance. As soon as I upload the code onto the hardware PLC I can see that my visu-task needs around 60 ms to complete. I'm wondering if there is a possibility to find out which visualization/visualization element takes a lot of computing time? Then I would look for ways to decrease the long computing time.

The problem is looking for a bug somewhere in CoDeSys in that, when the slave returns, the cyclic data exchange resumes, but the diagnostics do not update and the node continues to resulting off-line. it is not a problem with the PB master, but with its 3S/CoDeSys management. CoDeSys 3.5.19.20 runtime. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thank you.

How large and how complex? It's tough to make a recommendation without additional details. The simplest thing is to just use data arrays (or even arrays of arrays). My MC_Phasing FB was stuck in iPhasingState=1 and error output HIGH on one axis. I could manually overwrite the state to 0 in the instance data. During normal run I see the state change from 0 to 10 to 100 back to 0 (maybe more states that I couldnt catch with the naked eye) But - what are the states numbers and their different explenations? This is not explained in the FB guide on codesys. (the pictures show state = 0 after I reset)

Hi All, I'm using a webvisu on a control Win V3 SoftPLC. My issue is with the Alarm Managers Alarm history. It does create entry's and does also show the latch data. But it only shows the message of the active alarms. In the history the message is empty (also in the .csv Export file). The archiving in the alarm group is checked and the Alarm storage is activated. I'm using the Version V3.5 SP22 Patch 1. Do you have any idea where that comes from?

Hello, im using dynamic memory allocation with the NEW()-operator. When i instanciate a class with the NEW()-operator and want to debug/watch the interface of the class, the watch is only showing "Hidden Instance" (See attached screenshot). Is there any possibility to debug the interface data ? The interface is working properly but the debugging by the watch is not possible, what is a big disadvantage. Thank you. Best Regards, Alexander

Hello, For my program I need an extended pulse timer, which can be referred to as a retriggerable pulse timer. Where every rising edge of the input resets the elapsed time zero, extending the lenght of the output pulse. The Codesys pulse timer (TP) is a one-shot timer and only resets the elapsed time with the falling edge of the input. There is also a pulse timer (LTP) in codesys, but in my simulation it was also functioning as a one-shot even though the description sounds like LTP should be retriggerable. I have uploaded some timing plots from another PLC program for reference. I am looking for a timer equivalent to the "TEP" diagram. Is there an Extended Pulse Timer in Codesys? Maybe there is a way to manipulate the input so it resets the elapsed time outside the function block?

Hello all I am using an AxisGroup with the Gantry2 Kinematics to move a 2D-Gantry system. When creating the AxisGroup, the SoftMotion_PlanningTask is created automatically with a cycle time of 2 ms in my case. I realized that the maximum cycle time of this task can spike to very high values (up to 60 ms) at lower speeds of the motion, leading to synchronization issues and errors on the axes. The same behaviour - though not as drastic - can be observed with virtual axes too. Is this behaviour intended or to be expected? Can the cycle time or type of the SoftMotion_PlanningTask be changed to prevent these errors? Or is there another fix for this issue? I tried changing the cycle type to Freewheeling, which solved the synchronization issues, but caused an error on the AxisGroup after a while, reading SMC_CP_QUEUE_UNDERRUN. Hello everyone, I hope you can help me with my problem. I am new to programming and am currently working with a WAGO controller in our lab, which controls a heat pump. My goal is to send the electrical power of the heat pump (Pel_WP) via a UDP connection to a specific IP address. I am using Codesys version 2.3 and following the guide I found here: https://forge.codesys.com/forum/de/396/genmed-Konfiguration%20der%20UDP%20Kommunikation%20Cosesys%20S7.pdf. I have adapted the guide to suit my needs. The data sending works since I can force the reception value Pel_WP and the data is sent accordingly. However, I am having trouble with the receiving part. The reception value is not being correctly received, and the diSocket variable shows -1. The connection between the heat pump and the WAGO controller seems to be set up correctly, as the heat pump is listed under the communication parameters with the correct IP address. I have also attached images to provide a better view of the setup. I would greatly appreciate any support or suggestions for a solution. Thank you in advance!

Hi, I would like to divide a project into multiple applications - as a minimum: one handling visualization and Alarm Manager, one handling I/O and plant control logic. But how to exchange variables between the applications? What have you done to get such a solution? In versions 3.5.19 and earlier, you can have Child applications, where the children can access a GVL in the Parent application. Children apps is no longer possible in 3.5.20 - but you can have 'sibling' apps - Several apps directly under PLC Logic, that is. But how do they best communicate? The Communication Manager / Data Sources Manager is sort of possible via OPC UA, but it seems like overkill and with some limitations - for example no ARRAY OF STRUCT possible this way. If you have separate devices in your project, you can exchange data via 'CODESYS ApplicationV3', but not other applications in the same device (see attachment Datasources.png). You can do it via 'Select the project type'->'Other Project' and select the same project file, but this leads to crashing the Development system when working with the variables afterwards. It would be great to hear your thoughts / experiences on this topic - Bjarne

pbPayload is a pointer, which it expects to point at a STRING. If you point it at an address holding a different data type, it will just assume those bytes are part of a string and likely trundle along memory until it finds a null byte (0x00) that would normally signify the end of a string PublishMessage := BOOL_TO_STRING(boolVariable);

Im using SysCom ver. 3.5.17.0 and seem to have the same issue on a Raspberry Pi. It's not waiting for the requested number of bytes, no matter if "ulTimeout := SYS_INFINITE" or any other value. The only solution I have found is to stall the program to allow the serial port to recieve the data.
